I was given a copy of this cookbook and really enjoyed looking at it and trying some of the recipes.
Some of the things I really liked:
The book includes some basic broths and sauces as well as a homemade pasta recipe
The illustrations just make this book POP!!! The names of the dishes are also a hoot, in a good way, I found myself laughing.
For anyone like myself who loves all things pasta, this book is great!! All of the recipes including ingredients, directions and even spice level fit on one page!! No cooking for hours in this book!
I tried two of the recipes “Nice Guy Shrimp Pad Thai” and “Lookin’ Fine Lo Mein” both turned out well and tasted delicious
I think this would be a great cookbook for young people just starting out making meals but also people like myself who just want a simple recipe that tastes good and won’t take hours.
The illustrator, Alice Potter, is really a genius! Her vibrant drawings really sell the book!
I received this book from Amelia Beckerman, Associate Marketing Manager at St. Martin’s books. It was my pleasure to read, review and try some of these great, quick recipes. #SendNoods @stmartins.com
Super cute and fun! Absolutely love the illustrations. It gives Studio Ghibli vibes. The recipes all sounds super nom and fairly easy. This would make a great gift for any noodle lover 💜
This cookbook is fantastic. Small and easy to carry around with you, especially to grocery shopping to find the ingredients. I have made two dishes from this cookbook but will for sure make more! I have tried noodles made with butternut squash. It's a new dish for me and being not a fan of pumpkin in general, this dish didn't win my love unfortunately. I also tried following the recipe for Zoodles and Shrimp and loved it. I have made it again for the second time and eat a plate for lunch and another plate for dinner. I loved it a lot. I can't wait to try out other recipes in this book! There's the broth recipe that's useful for multiple dishes that I'm eager to try. It's getting a bit chilly here in the morning and I would love to try those soupy noodles. The recipes were easy to follow and not a lot of writing which I love!!
Thank you St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read, cook, and review!
Love the humor behind the names and the variety of noodle dishes to try. We have already made the Nice Guy Shrimp Pad Thai and Lights Out Lobster Tagliatelle and both were amazing! I can’t wait to whip up some of the others!
A huge thank you to Castle Point Books for sending me a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for an advance copy of this book to review. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4!
This eye catching pun riddled cookbook would make an excellent gift! The author planned out well structured sections of recipes; broths and basic sauces, comfort meals, soups, fake noodles (aka a bowl of vegetables pretending to be noodles), and the spicy section.
I think the target audience of this cookbook is young adults who are developing their skills in the kitchen. It would be a fun one to share with my college age sisters who can take care of themselves just fine, but would definitely enjoy trying out new meals. Anyone can boil noodles right??
Typically I will only purchase a cookbook if there is a picture to go with most, if not all, of the dishes. I want the image to leap off the page and scream “DON’T YOU WANT TO EAT ME?” I like that there is an illustration to go with each recipe in this book, but they weren’t as tantalizing as a picture.
Some of the recipes have short ingredient lists that are readily accessible to all home cooks. There were a handful of ingredients I’d never heard of before. I’d need to do a little research to learn what I needed and if I needed to go to a specialty grocery store. There’s nothing wrong with that, I just didn’t see any standard pantry ties between the recipes the way some of my favorite cookbooks are structured. I also felt like so d of the recipes were under seasoned. For example, the red sauce has no herbs in it.
My final critique is that there is a cute emoji ranking system for spice level, but it was inconsistent. One recipe with 1/4 teaspoon of chili flakes was the hottest level of spice, but another with a tablespoon of sriracha was the lowest ranked level of spice.
Overall I’m probably being a little too critical about a cookbook. I think this is a really fun find and I do look forward to trying out some of the meals!
Noodles have never been so adventurous or fun! I’ve always enjoyed dishes that incorporated noodles of all kinds. But now, for sure, I’m in love with ‘Noods’.
I was thrilled to receive this complimentary copy of Send Noods by Chloe Godot from Amelia Beckerman, Associate Marketing Manager at St Martin’s Press. And it’s given me several hours of enjoyable reading, chuckling, and tasty recipes to try.
The simple broth and sauce recipes were a bonus. Exploring the different recipe sections gave me great inspiration for dinners to come, especially the Heart Warmers section.
I highly recommend the Nice Guy Shrimp Pad Thai and Won’t Clam Up Spaghetti and Clams recipes. Family pleasers for sure!
I’m gifting my copy of this book to my 12 year old granddaughter who loves cooking and cookbooks. Maybe she’ll let me be her official taster.
In addition to the easy to follow recipes and eye catching illustrations, Send Noods has put together a great selection which should satisfy any noodle lover.
The 5 sections of the book makes it easy to find just the right recipe for your mood. Want a healthy option? No problem! Craving some comfort? This book has you covered.
In the mood to try Hot Girl Summer Pesto Pasta? Or Keep it Casual Carbonara? The inventive names are a lot of fun. And don't worry, the recipes are straight forward and easy to follow so even a beginner can create a delicious dish!
I made the "Heaven Sent Homemade Spaghetti" and it was delish. I did find that the recipe lacked descriptive language that would be important if this was your first time making pasta. I wouldn't say this cookbook is for level one beginners; you may want some knowledge of cooking before this book. The pics are super cute though, and the book is fun!
Thanks to Macmillan for the review copy of this book ♥️
Great cookbook! ✨Easy to follow recipes ✨Recipes are not labor intensive ✨Helpful Tips and Substitution ✨Like or Loved 80% of the recipes tried - favorite was Sex Is Cool, But Have You Tried My Pho? ✨Recipe titles will make you laugh ✨Illustrations are adorable.
This recipe book is a hit! From the homemade sauces to the noodle bowls, talk about yumness. Definitely a cookbook I'll keep coming back to for easy night meals full of flavor.
I get differentiating yourself with an unique "spin" to get yourself published more easily. But I hated it all. It was cringe; I don't want to think about sex when I eat. Just not my thing.
This was great and I am thinking about buying a copy for my friends for the holidays as a giggle. I plan on trying to make some of these over the winter.
"Get the noods you really want." I was BEYOND excited to receive this cutie in the mail (thank u @stmartinspress and @castlepointbooks )!! The ~aesthetic~ is so adorable. The illustrations are fun fun fun. And I love the clever little names of all the dishes. The recipes featured are diverse (which I looove): Asian, Indian, Italian, and more- I am so excited to try my hand at some of these!
When I get cookbooks, I like to try it before I post. So it’s taken me some time to post Send Noods (that and I lost my first review).
First off, a cookbook dedicated to noodles - yes please!
How cute is the title?! And the recipes inside follow a similar title theme. There are no food photos, instead illustrations of said recipes are throughout.
The book starts with a chapter on basic sauces and broths that are later featured throughout. The noodle recipes range from soups, to Asian inspired, to traditional favorites like mac and cheese. There’s even a section dedicated to healthier recipes.
We tried the perfect ten primavera - I did not make my own broth and used store bought (because time). The recipe is easy to follow and has a lot of fresh vegetables - an instant hit. I tend to use recipes as a guide so I do adjust spice and seasoning to my preference.
I’d recommend this as a gift for that 20-something that likes cooking (I think they’ll appreciate the humor) or anyone looking for an easy to follow cookbook with a dash of humor.
