It’s time for Hadrian and Angelina’s story, and i couldn’t wait to get started with the ARC of Forbidden.
Even though this one doesn’t release until august 4th.
Because what Father Hadrian did in Bad Magic left a bad taste in my mouth.
He was supposed to be a vampire with morals, but betrayed his king by helping the enemy take Tam.
And i was very curious if he could redeem himself…..

Angelina and Hadrian didn’t have a very good start.
In fact, after she turned him into a vampire,he took revenge by killing her.
Which sent her to heaven of all places.
And all she wanted was a mate, someone to take away the loneliness she suffered from after escaping her cruel sire,Linus.
But even in heaven, she keeps an eye on Hadrian.
Because she wants to be with him more than she wants to be in heaven.
If only he could forgive her….

When Hadrian sees Angelina again,he’s stunned she became an angel.
When she helps him by letting him feed from her,he pushes her into doing it regularly .
But the Angelina he sees,is not the Angelina he remembers. Or is she?
Was she always this sweet?
And why does he want to keep her?
And do all sorts of deliciously dirty things to his little angel?

In heaven, the head angel Rodolpho gets suspicious and decides to punish Angelina.
But not before she overhears his plans to decimate the vampires, therians and demons.
Can she warn them in time?
And what will Hadrian think of her when she’s degraded to a Guardian?

Will they be able to stop the angels?
What they need is a miracle of their own making, and luckily Tam knows how to get it done. Maybe.

Even though they really started on the wrong foot,i was glad to see that Hadrian still had an open mind about Angelina’s possible reasons. And i was glad to see he wasn’t as bad as i thought….he was just misguided.
But Anthony,king of the vampires?
Did he really have to act that way?
I understand he wanted to keep his human mate and their child safe, but that? Ouch…
I díd still like Cain,he’s still the badass incubus he was,but Tam is a good influence.
Even though she’s still a badass witch.
And i love that only Kitty can make heaven a place you DON’T want to be!
Because being bad is so much more fun!

Time flies by when you’re having fun,and so does this series.
But i just realised that there’s only one book left…..damn!

This is book five in the Fated Mates series by Zoe Winters. While you can read this book and follow along without reading the previous books in the series, I highly recommend reading the other books, just because I enjoy them. Not only are they as good as this one, you also get the backstory to characters. There was also a short prequel to this story, Dark Mercy, that Ms. Thomas was gracious enough to include because it was so integral to the plot of this story. Since both were included in this ebook, I'm going to include both stories in my review.

This is the story of a nun turned vampire, Angeline. She was turned by a very bad vampire who didn't treat her with kindness. When the prequel starts, Angeline has escaped him after years of his torment and the torment of his friends. Angeline is lost and lonely and looking for a kindred spirit. She comes across Father Hadrian. What a better soulmate than another man of the cloth. She turns him without his consent, just like she was. Needless to say, he was not happy about this. When all is said and done, he locks her in the sun for the day.

We start book five and "Forbidden" finding out that Angeline didn't die, but was ascended. They made her into an angel. You would think as a former nun, she would be ecstatic by this turn of events. Being an angel isn't all that its cracked up to be. She has yet to get over Father Hadrian. She spends a ton of time watching him from Heaven.

When Angeline shows up to warn Hadrian that the angels plan to side with humans in the battle to destroy all paranormal creatures. she seeks to get forgiveness for turning him many years before. She is willing to do anything to get this forgiveness, including giving him her forbidden and powerful blood.

This story brings back all the character we saw in the first four books, plus a some new ones. While this story isn't the most action-packed or suspenseful PNR book I've ever read, it is still a good story with an interesting plot. The characters have personality. The story is well written, as I would expect from reading this series. There is mild BDSM, but this isn't an author jumping on the bandwagon. If you've ever read Kitty Thomas, you know this is not her first foray into the BDSM world.

I was anxiously waiting for this book to continue in this worlderful world (well for me it’s wonderful). You can read this book as a standalone but I would suggest you invest time in all the series, it’s worth it and you understand more the twist and turns.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review

This is Book 5, in the Fated Mates series, and it is a fantastic story!! This series has been consistently amazing ♥️ I have just devoured every single book!! Angeline and Hadrian’s story was tragically beautiful!! My heart really went out to Angeline 💔 She just wants somebody to love her!! She’s part demon, vampire and human. That’s a lot to deal with!! She thought she could force a man to love her, only for him to end up hating her. This story really had its heartbreaking moments, that had me in tears!!
In 1955, Angeline turns Father Hadrian, hoping to make him hers. Wanting his love. He ends up hating her for turning him into a “monster.”
In present day, Hadrian is banished from the Vampire King’s court
In his hate and rage, Hadrian kills Angeline. She comes back as an angel, but will she be too late, to warn Hadrian of the Vampire King’s plan of betrayal…..
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS ENTIRE SERIES 💙

This series continues to blow me away with the amazing world building and plot that serve as an awesome backdrop to the original love stories. This is the story of Father Hadrian and Angeline. Desperate for a mate, Angeline turns Father Hadrian into a vampire thus incurring his wrath and resulting in him killing her. In an unexpected twist, Angeline becomes an angel and keeps watching out for her supposed mate. There's a lot that happens in the world that Kitty built in this installment. Unlikely allies have to work together and I really enjoyed seeing the characters from prior books. Hadrian and Angeline are such an interesting pairing and I was captivated by their love story. I adore the way that Kitty Thomas is able to turn the narrative on its head and make us fall in love with characters who appeared to do some questionable things in prior installments. Father Hadrian is no exception. I just loved him in this book despite his past actions. Overall, this is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to see how this all wraps up.

The thing I am really loving about this series is the fallibility of the characters. In this story, the person who you think is the antagonist ends up stealing your heart and you want to wrap them in cotton and hold them tight. The ‘bad guy’ from the previous book in the series is our main character in this one. He isn’t good by any means, but you completely understand him and his motivations, both then, and now. The connection that makes these two mates, neither understands, but they know it is there. There is resistance, there is separation, there is some anger too, on both their parts at different times. In the end, that connection keeps them together, not because of some mystical reason, but because they can’t be without the other. The fact that the world is changing as they know it all around them isn’t their concern, they are hyper-focused on each other. There was a sneaky little twist there at the end, and that was simply awesome, and the icing on the cake!

This book is mainly about Father Hardian and Angeline. They weren't a couple I was particularly interested in from previous stories, but boy did they prove me wrong in this book. And all the other characters show up as well, which significantly adds to the story. They are gearing up for a huge battle and you will be surprised with who. And who would guess that I would be rooting for the "bad" guys? That heaven is rather boring and the hell on earth is actually the place to be. That bad guys can actually be good guys. Just wow. We are gearing up for one hell of an epic battle, and let the bad guys win!

And the series continues! This is Hadrian's book. I felt like he was quite a different character from the previous book even though we only got to see a little about him. Angeline was an interesting character I wasn't a fan of her but she grew on me as the book went on. I loved seeing how the world works with vampires, angels and guardians. The whole book was a rollercoaster ride and I didn't know what to expect next. The end of the book was very shocking but also very satisfying although it left many questions to be answered which I hope will come in the next book!

Father Hadrian and Angeline dance around their issues and the tension between them in this book. When the angels discover she has given her precious blood to the vampire she is tortured and then banished. Hadrian and her have a lot to resolve but he realizes he feels something for his guardian angel but he can’t sort that out for the problem of the coming apocalypse which finds him once again joining forces with the other preternaturals to save the world. Spicy level about a 3.

Let’s just start off by saying I was upset or irritated that Hadrian even got a book. After Bad Magic, I was hoping he’d just die in a corner by himself. That said, I grew to like him…just like Kitty said I would.
We meet Father Hadrian in the beginning of the series, but he really makes a presence in Bad Magic(Cain & Tam) and a bit in Hunted(Z & Fiona). He’s one of those characters you love to hate, and as I said earlier, I did hate him. In Forbidden, we finally get his backstory, as well as Angelines. She is one of those characters that you immediately love and are invested in. This book is definitely a hate to love story, as the couple had the worst beginning that any couple could get. How does a couple come back from all that deceit, murder and hate? Can they overcome their past to forge a loving future? I read this story much faster than I have the other 4 books in the series. I HAD to know what was going to happen next, would he break her heart, would they be caught, would she be punished? I was so worried for Angeline and so invested in her happiness, that I couldn’t close the book until it was over.
Kitty, again, let us revisit some of our past favorite couples like Cain and Tam, Luc and Anna, Dayne and Greta, Anthony and Charlee and Cole and Jane. It’s always a treat to be able to revisit couples as you get an update on their story, because one book is never enough for someone like me. I really wish more authors incorporated past couples back into new stories, or created worlds where we’d get naturally occurring updates and glimpses into their lives, past their happily ever afters.

*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.

Well. I have to admit that when I started this book, I wasn’t exactly a fan. Why? Mainly because it involved a character that I wasn’t too fond of (spoiler alert: it’s character from the precious book). But once I put that aside and actually allowed myself to be pulled in to the story, I found myself forgiving and understanding the character so much that I actually had a little empathy for him. Who knew…

Angeline is just that. An angel. Actually, she was once a vampire, reborn in to an angel (if you haven’t read any of the previous books, you’ll understand once you do). That being said, even though she hasn’t been “assigned” to watch over her current obsession, she just help it. Probably because she still feels the pull to him. To be with him. That they’re meant to be together.

Father Hadrian is exactly what his name empties with the exception that he’s a vampire. Weird, right? Kind of. In order to feed, he absolves their sins and kind of helps them become a better person. Hard to explain. Just read it and you’ll understand. The author does a WAY better than I could ever do. Ok, I digress. When his angel comes down to warn him of danger, it’s hard for him to focus on the fact that Angeline seems to be “back from the dead”. Needless to say, sparks from their past flare and events are set in motion that could. In’s them together for eternity. But will the Gods have a say in it?

These two literally seem to have to work the hardest to be with each other. But it’s completely worth every second!!!

Forbidden is the fifth book in the Fated Mates Series. Forbidden actually starts off with Dark Mercy a 0.5 story Novella that has been added to Forbidden and is the beginning story of Father Hadrian and Angeline. It started out in 1955 when Angeline decided to make Hadrian hers. Angeline is half demon, vampire and half human. Angeline just wanted someone to love her.

Present day - Hadrian has been banished from the Vampire King’s court.

I think one of my favorite lines in this book is. “Forgive me, Father, for I’m about to sin.” Very appropriate!

Things kind of backfired on Angeline and Hadrian hates her for turning him and he kills her. Somehow she ends up being an angel. She is back to warn Father Hadrian of the plans for the King of the vampires to kill him.

I loved this story and this series so far. I love how Kitty/Zoe brings in all the paranormal, witches, sorcerers, vampires, werewolves and a lot of other shapeshifters and such.

I am looking forward to reading Caged Moon, the last of this series. 4.5 Stars

FYI - Kitty Thomas wrote this book originally under the name of Zoe Winters when she was trying to separate the genre’s that she writes. Now she is trying to bring the 2 names together.

I like how you got to see both sides to Hadrian before you even get to his story. You get to see how he uses his vampire "gifts" to help people who actually want or need to get better but either don't have the will or don't see a way out. He also shows how he isn't all "good" either in the book before this one.

You also get to find out how he was made and also see how Angeline has changed to try to be better. She has a lot of guilt and she still is in love with Hadrian.

But an angel and a vampire can never be. Heaven will reign down on earth and Hadrian and Angeline before it will allow these 2 to be together.

I loved how these 2 characters developed. They ended up being perfect for each other. And there is a bit of a twist at the end that was surprising and yet made so much sense!

Forbidden is Angeline and Father Hadrian's story. It tells you how they first met and the attraction at first but then their encounter makes an unexpected turn for the worst. I don't want to give any spoilers away! We then jump to the present where from the last book Hadrian is on his own now after what he did to Tam.

Angeline used to be a vampire but is an angel now. She comes back in Hadrian's life unexpectedly and he tests her. She still has deep feelings for him but along the way his feelings for her seem to grow. Through all of this everyone is still fighting a war and they need to come up with a plan to save their kind.

Will their plan work?? I can't wait to read the final book to find out. I highly recommend reading this series. It's best to read in order to understand the characters and their backgrounds.

I'm not gonna lie. Father Hadrian was not a character I liked based on his appearances earlier in the series. I honestly struggled with starting the book because of that. But in true Kitty Thomas fashion, I started to lose myself in the story and was sucked in. Despite my initial reluctance, this was another great entry to the series. I really like the threads that continue in each book. You get a new couple but you still see the previous couples appear and the entire story grow. father Hadrian and Angeline were a pretty interesting pairing. They both had some sins to atone for and the way it all came together was fantastic. The dirty ending was appreciated as well.

This is book 5 in the Fated Mates series, and I can’t get enough. I’ve loved them all! I’ve always had a fascination with angels, so this just turns it right the heck up!! It’s completely compelling and sucks you in, and you cannot put it down! Fascinating!!

Oh boy , forcibly turned into a vampire by Angeline, Father Hadrian has never forgiven her, even after he took her life. Now an Angel , Angeline is obsessed with the vampire who she hoped would be her mate.

Hadrians is back in his favorite church licking his wounds after trying to go up against Anthony the Vampire King. Angeline turns up to warn him about what’s going to happen to the world, and this is Hadrian’s opportunity to punish her for what she did.

This was my least favorite of the stories but it’s an important part of the series as it sets the scene from what I expect will be an epic series finale. Still amazing as all our favorite characters are in this book and all having to work together against their common enemy.

The world is in complete chaos, all the paranormal species are fully exposed to humans. Vampires are openly feeding & killing humans , were’s are disappearing and the angels are preparing to pick a side.

The whole team are going to have to put aside their hate for one another and come up with a way to handle the angels, because if it come to all out war, they will not win against the man upstairs.

I really felt the animosity between Hadrian & Angeline and you feel it as it melts away. I also felt his frustration at the interruptions and I could hear his demon screaming in my head with frustration.

A very important book in the series to understand more of the lore and how the angels fit into the bigger picture.

Looking forward to the next book, can’t wait to dive in.
