On the first day of work for the little intern God of Wealth, Zhuang Zhou was filled with confidence and complacency.

I'm in the mood to read funny webnovels so I searched in novelupdates and found this gem.😊
Just the title alone, I knew it will be a funny and light read. This book has a bit of an absurd premise lol. Our MC Zhuang Zhou is a god of wealth in training, it is his first day at work as an intern and unfortunately 'got lost' and ended up 2000 years in space in an intergalactic era. He ended up in an abandoned planet and have no way out.
Luckily, he met Wen XiaoYun who also got stranded on the trash planet. But unlike him, this admiral has a way out.
This was an enjoyable read for me. The contrast between Zhuang Zhou and Wen XiaoYun's belief and way of life is hilarious.
The plot and world building is decent. The secondary characters added a lot of charm in the book. I especially like Xiao Polan, the tiny robot demon that Zhuang Zhou accidentally created.😆
I did not expect the conclusion but I like it. I was a bit emotional on that part.😢

The story is a masterpiece! I love it with all my heart! One of the best and most nice books I've read so far.
There is no toxic relationships, there is no misunderstandings between the main couple that result in drama or conflicts. They are mature and relationship is build on trust and love. I'm so envious! They are deserving a good happy ending.
The comedy is another very good point of this story. I love that this comedy is not forced, its unexpected and very natural. I forgot when I've laughed so much as here! My stomach hurts from all the laughing. LOLOL. LOVE IT.
We have a mystery here, with the slice of life. But its not boring at all, at it happens in some other books. The translations is also top, thank you very much for it!
We come to know more and understand the characters and world more via the story. The pace is good, just enough to be curious and not be obvious.
The whole story is heart-warming, and the relationship is really awesome. I totally recommend to give it a go. Truly an amazing read.

A cute story (for the most part) about an intern God of Wealth who accidentally arrives on an abandoned planet filled with trash and radiation and has to build up his followers in an intergalactic era 2000 years in the future. The ML, Wen Xiaoyun, is a renowned general of the space fleet who also ends up stranded on the trash planet after a big space battle and has to pick up parts day after day to fix his communication device. I have to say, the premise is a bit out there. I had no idea what to expect after reading the summary, but I'm glad I picked it up as it was a fun and lighthearted read.
**Warning: Spoilers Ahead**
The first half of the story follows their life on the trash planet and is more slice of life as the MC, Zhuang Zhou, works his god magic to gain followers among WXY's men who came there to rescue their admiral. Then the setting of the story changes when they go back to the Imperial capital so that Zhou Zhou can gain more followers, and at that point there's a little bit more intrigue and drama as there are a lot of unscrupulous people who covet the miraculous things ZZ can do. I enjoyed the second part of the story a lot more as there is more plot and actual villains to root against.
The novel is written in a very funny and lighthearted manner which made it a fun read. For example, the crazy amount of bad luck some characters have when they mistakenly worship the wrong god or get on ZZ's bad side is hilarious:
"Admiral, I spoke to you about him before. My son is very talented. His physical strength and psychic powers are both S level and he's been wanting to join the 3rd Legion for a long time. However, a few days ago, he encountered some troubles and needed to stay in the hospital for 2 days. His injuries just healed and see, I immediately brought him over after his hospital discharge to see you."
Chen JianXiang hastily stood up from his chair: "Hello, Admiral! am......"
He didn't even finish speaking yet when the light hanging above his head suddenly fell down on top of him.
Chen JianXiang responded very quickly. However, even though he managed to avoid the major damage, it still hit him on the shoulder. With a crack, his arm broke.
Chen JianXiang numbly attempted to climb up off of the floor. He didn't even stand steady yet, and it's unknown if his foot got tangled on the wires of the lights or something, but his entire person fell forward and he smacked face first into the ground again.
In addition, he didn't fall very well. His head landed directly on a metal bump, knocking a hole in his head which instantly started bleeding everywhere.
Lieutenant Chen: "......"
Wen XiaoYun: "..."
And here is how WXY's men react to seeing Zhou Zhou offer food to himself in the communal cafeteria, since that's the only way he can taste the food as he can't taste it with his god body:
They already heard the news yesterday, that the Admiral brought back an extremely pitiful and well-behaved little friend. The Admiral even treated him especially well.
Who would have imagined they'd have the honor to see him in person today.
They saw them arrive hand in hand!
The Admiral even personally fetched food for him!
The Admiral has never treated anyone this well before!
Were they about to have an Admiral-furen soon?
Seeing the two sitting down, everyone felt even more excited in their hearts.
Each and everyone of them were doing their best to sneak peeks.
They even cheered internally!
Give him food, give him food!
Feed him a bite! Feed him a bite!

Wait a minute.
Why's Madam taking out.....candles? An incense burner?
Everyone's faces very apparently turned dumbfounded.
After placing the incense burner and candles in the proper position, Zhuang Zhou placed the Divine Image in his hand into the set up.
He gave a glance at Wen XiaoYun and coughed softly, saying in embarrassment: "......En, you know. Before eat, always have to pay respect."
Wen XiaoYun's handsome face was unperturbed. His tone was soothing: "En, I understand. Not a problem."
But it wasn't all fun and games. Eventually we learn what happened to earth in the past to cause the human exodus and how ZZ ended up living on the trash planet for much longer than he realized, and it was all unexpectedly heart wrenching. But luckily ZZ has WXY with him now. With WXY, he will never lack for followers. There's one really sweet scene I loved among their interactions:
Zhuang Zhou asked: "You made all of these people......en, believe in the God of Wealth. Then, then how come you've never worshipped him?"
Having known each other this long, Wen XiaoYun has never worshipped before.
If he didn't believe in the existence of God before, that's fine.
But right now he clearly knew.......
Hearing this, Wen XiaoYun fell silent for a moment.
Zhuang Zhou thought he didn't want to say it. He was just about to end this topic when he heard Wen XiaoYun say.
"I don't want to be protected by him. He has to protect all of these people, but no one protects him." He said: "I want to become that person who can protect him."
I also really liked some of the side characters, such as Xiao Polan, ZZ's pet robot who becomes quite arrogant and starts treating WXY's vice admiral as his human slave XP Their ending was a bit unexpected for me as well, as I didn't foresee at all that Xiao Polan would "ascend" in his cultivation to become a real human being.

It’s a cute short story that had me thinking too much about the power of faith and prayers. It’s mostly about the adorable MC coupling with the stone faced hero character by the end of this 64+ chapters Chinese novel. It got a little heavy near the end. But, it bounced back.
There is not much deep character development in such a short novel for the secondary characters, as expected.
A major portion of the primary plot was narrated as recovered memories which made this big discovery anticlimactic. 3.5/5

totally love it! i actually started reading this because it was already completed and i seldom read interstellar settings because i couldnt understand much about their concept but this novel is totally good!
they even have an unexpected twist to the story which is surprising and makes the plot more meaningful. it explains everything there’s no plotholes and as a reader i really am invested when reading the whole thing.
all in all i just hope there’s more extras 🥹

This was basically pure fluff. Nothing wrong with that, especially if that's what you're actually after. Nothing really bad or critical happened to the characters, and the only less-happy stuff that happened was the plot twist reveal near the end, which was slightly angsty. But even then, it didn't tug at my heartstrings as much as I thought it should.
The MC was cute, adorable and somewhat naive (but not the stupid kind), which was easy to root for. But the ML... lacked depth. I thought the ML's aide had more personality than the ML himself... He's the reason I lowered my rating.
The ML's only feature was that he was in a high position such that he was able to provide the MC with a shield to hide behind when necessary, and that he liked the MC (even if he liked him at the start only because being near MC alleviated his pain). ...that's it. Looking back I can't recall anything else notable about him. Unfortunately that also translated into a rather flat romance. It felt more like... "He's good-looking and he's nice to me... I like him!". The romance just... happened, I guess, rather than being fought for. If that's your preference, then this is a good story.
One thing I appreciated in the story was that the author explained why the MC was good at everything he did, so it never came across as "he's awesome just because he is!".
Having said all of these, I really did enjoy the plot reveal at the end - it's the reason I rated this 4 instead of 3. Would have loved to see a longer epilogue, but well.

Book was boring and felt like it was 3x longer. Romance didn't feel natural at all and characters felt two dimensional and I didn't care for them much. Better read Devils Marriage which has better characters and world building aspects. It annoyed me how little was put in world building and descriptions and science parts, like how women were described as if it was 1900s. Even big revelation about MC didn't feel exciting. It often repeated itself with descriptions and small details and overused same plot.

pros: honestly way better than i expected??, nice characters (main and side characters), couples dynamics are both great (main and side couple), pacing and plot are well done and tie up all the plot lines and mysteries really well and nicely, length was also good
cons: if anything the fact mc is described to look around 18 and the love interest, 35, falls for him before finding out he’s not in fact a teenager

June 10, 2023An easy, no stakes interstellar novel with a childishly cute MC who is taken in and coddled by the super powerful ML who is instantly in love with him for no real reason. It's pretty typical fare for its niche and doesn't bring anything new or overly interesting to the setting but it's a decent popcorn novel and at least no one spends most of the novel as a kid and/or a cute animal so small victories.

A very fluffy series with no drama. I like the contrast between the interstellar culture and the divine culture. There's a little mystery with why the MC is here, but the story doesn't really touch it, instead focusing on romance and humor. However, it does feel like it starts to stall out into endless face-slapping in the middle part while the ML cheers on. That's nice in small doses, but it really feels like it's taking priority over advancing even the romance.
