A pebble can be the trigger that unleashes a rockslide, and sometimes one man can make all the difference in the world.
When Raymond Dell, US Navy (Retired), stumbles upon a kidnapping scheme he figures he has a good handle on things. A little work, a little luck, and a kid goes home to his parents and Ray moves on to the next job. When the job becomes bigger than he realized, and bigger than he can handle, Ray is faced with horrors he'd never imagined, a world that by rights should not exist... and only one number to call.
Dang. I took a long time to read this book. Decided to get it done and off my KU list. I really like the first book, Seal Team 13. It was an unexpected gem. Unfortunately, I only have luke warm feels for this book. Choppy POVs, awkward flashback and too many 'inner' thoughts spread within each brief sequence. It was more like a series of unedited shorts that were kinda tied together.
This was better, way, way better than book one, a good mix of the supernatural and the mundane, both elements were really stretched to their maximum!!!!!
Whoever said that the supernatural can not be paired with real GI Joe, well both these books might jump at your jugular, and insist themselves upon you.
The first book was a good opening salvo, but this second one, hahahhahahhaa just WOW, I mean I really love a good international war or action, but couple that with the supernatural, well two thumbs is just way, way below the GOLD standards, Mr. Currie the Seal Team 13 universe is such a unique blend, and reading it was truly something, I hope that your standards do not deviate, if I can just recommend one book for this year, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONE IN A HEARTBEAT. You want magic, checked, action, triple checked, story driven, another check, all in all the only rant in such a rave filled book, are sometimes the action/dialogues of some of the characters, sometimes tongue in cheek comments make it soooo cringy!!!!
Well 8yrs after the first SEAL team 13 book, the second one comes along and what a rip roaring story it is It follows on straight after the first and the first 100 or so pages has nothing to do with them, but about a PI that is searching for a kidnapped child Without spoiling it, the team get dragged into it and it pretty much goes from set piece to the next, with the bodies of bad guys pilling up as things progress Note to author: Please don't leave it another 8yra for the next in the series
The title says it all and the only “bad” thing was having to wait for it.when evil men do evil things, they find that there are worst things than themselves, like a special team who lost a brother-in-arms as he discovered a human trafficking outfit… and the summoned succubus protecting the kidnapped children.
Not much magic but the action is good and when the magic was really needed, it did not fail to impress.
This was a very satisfying book to read, even better than the first book in the series. It has a nice finish, but still teases more to come, assuming the author continues with these. It may sound cheesy, but I was disappointed when I finished the book and realized that, at least as of time I read it, there wasn't a following book in the series that I could continue reading. While I enjoy the author's 'Into The Black' series the most, I've also become a big fan of Seal Team 13.
I liked it a lot. Wondering at first where it was going but after 10% it picked up wonderful. Loved the interaction between de members of the team and the way more and more of the individuals get a body and background.
Very fast paced, action and mystery filled. The book leaves you wanting to know more about the characters, the matriarch, the clans and others. I hope the author decides to make this a series. Well worth the read no slow spots in my opinion. Read the book, review it, ask for more.
Well this started out as just a good old story of marines, kidnapped kid and a plan to rescue him. To an out right battle over Iran. This story just keep escalating to a all out fight to save a lot of kids. I liked the mix of seal team and the wizards. Yes there is magic in this story. Would like to read more of SeAL team 13.
I like how this story is progressing and look forward to seeing if the team expands and the inevitable clash with the clans. Fast paced and tight, but with an actual story.
Exhilarating from start to finish. I love how the author mixed military conflict with the supernatural and a dose of police work has we learn more of team 13. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Bit dubious at first, very glad I stuck with it . Great plot looking forward to the next book. There will be a next book won't there Evan? Please say yes😄
Worth the wait! Great to see Hawk, Alex, and the rest back in action in a new action packed scenario that also gives us another look behind the veil and into the clans. Recommended.
Really like the setting and we get a glimpse of more of the fantasy elements of the world we were introduced to in the first book. Hoping we get more books set in the same world.
On the way back from their first mission, our heroes are dragged into another. When a former SEAL stumbles into a kidnapping ring, he calls on his old friend Hawk for help. And things spiral out of control from that point on. The author does a stellar job writing both the good guys & the bad while opening up the world without the Veil a little more. How to read another adventure soon
