About the author

Sergei Alekseevich Baruzdin (Russian: Сергей Алексеевич Баруздин) - Russian Soviet writer. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1949.

In 1938 he published his first stories in the children's magazine Pioneer. Member of the Great Patriotic War.

Graduated from the A.M. Gorky Literary Institute (1958).

Author of many books for children and youth. The adult reader is addressed to the novel "Repetition of the past" (1964), "The Tale of Women" (1967), a collection of short stories and novellas "I love our street ..." (1969). In 1957-1965, secretary of the board of the RSFSR joint venture, since 1967 - the USSR joint venture. Since 1965 - Chief Editor of the Druzhba Narodov magazine (V. Kazak calls him the most important achievement in this post).

S.A. Baruzdin died on March 4, 1991. He was buried in Moscow at the Vvedenskoye cemetery. (less)
