I don’t know what I was expecting but not this. The thought that this could happen was actually quite harrowing. The main protagonist, Sarah, has been dreadfully affected by a traumatic event in her past but is clearly trying to hide it, whilst keeping most human contact at a distance. So well written I felt myself wanting to give her a hug, although unlikely she would have tolerated it. Ha ha.
Briefly, at the age of 17 Sarah watched, from inside a wardrobe, whilst her mother was murdered, but she never saw enough to identify him. Her mother’s best friend, Madison, took her in and became her second mother. But when Sarah started getting letters from the killer signed Sincerely, Yours she didn’t tell anyone. Whilst prolific, the murderer often has a long break between murders, but Sarah is keeping track. As time goes on Sarah becomes a successful author and gets a job in a newspaper as the crime correspondent. But she still has one aim. To find her mother’s killer…
This is a very good domestic psychological suspense novel. With no one having an clue to the killer, the police, Sarah or the reader, you are constantly waiting for something to happen. I think for me that maybe the ending wasn’t quite as tense or climatic as I was expecting but that said it was an excellent read and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
