As if being a teenager in Mortalia weren’t difficult enough, being together can literally make the couple shine brighter than the northern lights. They need guidance and lots of it, but their mentor Nick has disappeared, and the only friend who knows what they are is human.

With unexpected help, Will and Liddy must travel through other's memories to learn about Mara, the witch in the envelope, in hopes of defeating her. Unearthed is an icy betrayal, one so deep it fractures Mara’s soul and the flames of her fiery rage could burn through their worlds. Everyone is on borrowed time as Mara seeks to exact her revenge. Will and Liddy must find a way to stop her or die along with everyone they have ever loved.

Okay I need book 3 now…

Wonderful read! Totally drawn into learning more about the characters and their past, and love all the character progression. Sometimes the 90s in the US references go over my head but if you’re from elsewhere like me, don’t let that put you off. The magic and drama in this series is worth it!

I absolutely loved the first book so was more then happy to read book two and let me tell you that it is every bit as good! An amazing read that draws you in with the incredible world building and exciting storyline. It’s full of magic, danger, drama, romance, mystery and intrigue and I just love the characters as I went on their amazing journey with them! So addictive that once I picked this up that was it for the rest of the day so yes I would definitely recommend this!

This book was amazing. I fell in love with book one, The Witch in the Envelope and couldn't wait to read book two. OMG, this book captured me and I loved reading the back story about Nick, Shai, Nolan, Gavin, and Mara. My heart broke for Mara and even though she is a witch trying to kill Lydia, I felt her pain. The magic system in this series is fantastic and I have loved watching Will and Lydia come into their Watcher gifts. The ending of book 2 has me diving straight into the last book in this great series. 10 out of 10 recommend this trilogy if you like young adult fantasy romance, 90's nostalgia, magic systems using eye color, and Witches.

I feel so in love with the first book that I dived right into book two! The series so far feels like this really cool supernatural teen show for networks like The CW or Freeform. Shadowhunters vibes!

The second book follows Liddy and Will as they learn how their powers work, but also gives a deep dive into the past of young Nick and young Mara! I really loved this new story within the story of how young Mara became the angry witch she is now.

Poor Mara! I really felt for her! She came from this place of being poor and having to be hidden away by her mother to learning how to navigate this world of the elite with her new friends. Mara knows that she’s not on their level and is trying to protect her heart. But she trusts Nick so much that she lets all his friends in behind her walls as well.

I really loved her friendship with Nick and was really rooting for them. And also Lana! She was such a cool gal pal for Mara to have by her side. And Lana has a really cool warrior gifting! Lana is pretty badass.

Learning what happened with Mara and Nick gave me a lot of hope that maybe Liddy and Will could help Nick appeal to Mara’s love for him. Maybe help Mara feel less betrayed. All Nick ever wanted was to be with her and protect her.

I also really liked that Liddy’s friend, Pree, joined their Scooby Gang of sorts. It’s good for Liddy to have someone else to talk to about this stuff besides Will. And Pree is so fascinated with this whole new world she’s discovered about Liddy and really wants to understand everything.

This book series is so fun and I am dying for book three! Highly HIGHLY recommend for anyone who loves Shadowhunters or Buffy.

This book has been high up on my want to read list ever since I finished the first one. I'm so happy to have finally read it! I absolutely loved book one, and I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed this one as well!
It was a fast paced read and I was easily able to recall things from book 1.
I loved being back with these characters, getting to know them better and being introduced to new ones.
I really liked learning more about the history of Watchers and Cristes. One of my favorite things was going back in time and seeing characters like Nick, Nolan, Shai, and Maras past. Getting to know Maras back story to better understand why she is the way she is today. I also really enjoyed the glimpse of Cristes.
Some events at the end absolutely broke my heart, and that ending! I seriously cannot wait for book 3 to continue on and find out what happens next!

If this series sounds like something you'd enjoy I'd definitely recommend giving it a read sometime!

A wonderful continuation of it's predecessor, The Witch In The Envelope.

Book 2, The Witch and The Watcher, delves into the history of the characters and is an exciting tale of new and old friends along the path to saving lost loved ones.

If you love the fun of Harry Potter, the romance of Twilight, battles of dark and light, Christmas and last but not least the 90s--you will fall in love with this series. Enjoy!

after that ending… just WOW!

This story is getting to be so good. I wish I could already find out what happens next! Wow so much has happened.

I really hope that one of the characters will still show up again… I don’t want to spoil but he was such a nice character… so sad to not know what actually happened at that moment.

What a roller coaster ride! I cant wait until the next book is here! So good! Highly recommend this series.

I was so happy to enter into the TWITE universe again! The cover is gorgeous. The world and magic this author has created always amazing me the more I read about it. I liked that this book was more about the background we missed out on in book one, but I never could have imagined how heartbreaking it would be. The end of the book we are down 3 members possibly, but may have gained 2. Don't know if they can be trusted yet, but I hope to find out in book 3!

I loved reading part two of this book, we finally get a chance to look into Nick’s and Mara’s relationship. It was full of drama and I loved every part of it. Things get really intense towards the end of the story and that cliffhanger will have you on the edge of your seat. My one problem with the story was Will. He seemed different in this story than the first one, I felt he was whiny. They’re teenagers, they don’t care about much and think they’re grown which is great in YA novels, but he was just not for me this time.

Twists and turns, so fun!

Something fun about this book is there's a book inside a book. Part two highlights the history of how some characters were connected in their young adult lives. This gives so much context and reveals motives we didn't see in book one. Such a fun story! The ending has me hooked, I need to know what happens next! On to book three!

This book sucked me in so quickly! It explained so much of the background of the story. The villain’s origin story was also a good chunk of the book. There were many intense scenes, and it ended on a cliff-hanger which made me very glad that book 3 has already been published!!! If it weren’t 2:30 A.M., I would be starting the next one immediately!
