A story for everyone

This charity anthology has a story for everyone; whether you like shifters, same-sex, mature or historical, you will find something to enjoy. Two dozen stories, and almost as many variations of second chances. This was a bit of a rush job and it shows in the need for editing, some tales more than others. My favourite stories include Aria Bliss' Renewing Hearts, part of her Watercress Falls series, and CK O'Connor's Once Burned, Twice Loved, appealing for Bake Off fans. I should also mention Lia Davis, Linzi Baxter, and RC Wynne, and for me, these five stories more than justified the cost.

This review is for 'The Ghosts We Were' by Laynie Bynum.

I hate leaving negative reviews but this short story tipped me over the edge into Ragetown, thanks to the MASSIVE cliffhanger.

It is also miscategorized as a HEA - there's no happily ever after in this story as presented - there may be down the road in the next book, but I don't have the next book, nor am I likely to, after this.

I note the author posted this story on Amazon Vella, which, as a non US-based reader, I cannot access. So, this may explain the "serial" feeling to this story of a Small Town Girl who left for the Big City, never forgetting the Boy She Left Behind who, it turns out, told her he didn't love her so she would leave because he wanted her to Live Out Her Dreams. He, of course, loves her So Much he's been having meaningless weekly sex with her best friend ever since. Honestly that's such a ticking bomb that I wanted to "see you write your way out of this one, Joan Wilder," but the story just ends at the Big Reveal and I. Hate. It.

To steal a phrase from Reddit's AITA - Everyone Sucks Here.

Also, I'm not opposed to alcohol as a plot device, but booze is feeding a lot of bad decisions here and it's a little tired after a while.

Just writing out all my thoughts about what is really a short little story has made me angry all over again.

Authors, please know I respect your creative work, but if you ding me with a concealed cliffhanger, understand that I am out. Forever.

I received a free copy of this story only through Book Sirens, and the opinions expressed are mine.

I read two books in this anthology. They were both sweet second chance stories, but very different.

Reconcilable Claim: I truly enjoyed Sawyer and Erika. Sawyer knew she was his mate, but let her go experience life without telling her. Unfortunately, death brought them back together. After she arrives Sawyer asks for her help, they work to solve his dad’s murder and accept their love as they move forward. This story has mystery, action and a second chance romance.

Melting the Ice: This story involves a coach and a mom of one of his players finding love. Their relationship was not easy, there were obstacles to overcome. I definitely enjoyed the mystery of who Noel’s dad was. I enjoyed how everything tied together and the outcome of finding the truth. Be prepared to feel several emotions as the story progresses, but it is definitely worth it. Part of it is the characters are amazing, they make you feel like you are experiencing it with them.

I highly recommend you get this anthology, if these two books are anything to go by it is not something you want to miss. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is my review for Yours always, Mason

Very emotional second chance romance. Mason and Ronnie were high school sweethearts. Mason left her without reason 10 years earlier breaking her heart! He steps in when she’s in danger at a bar, she is completely shocked to see him. They had never stopped loving each other. The story is so emotional, telling what happened to bring them to this point and everything Mason had been through to keep Ronnie safe. Now he was back Mason was never letting Ronnie go! Action packed with danger, suspense and a true love even years apart couldn’t ruin. Hot, steamy, loving and caring. This was a more than 5 star read with a wonderful HEA! Please can we have Bear’s story soon??

It is rare that I read anthologies, but I am finding that I like the options and variability of them. This one has something for everyone who loves romance. There is a variety of subgenres and I did not feel that I needed to read every story to rate the book as a whole. I took off one star because there are some significant editing needs for a couple of the stories I read where POV shifts were jarring and inconsistent, but the stories were still interesting. I will be coming back and reading others as breaths of fresh air between longer books. I like that I have this option and so many stories to choose from.

Review is for Reconcilable Claim by Lia Davis.

Sawyer knew that Erika was his mate since they were teens. He let her get away so that she could follow her dreams. Erika went back to her hometown during a break in her career for a funeral. She had known her all her life about shifters and had feelings for one in particular. Now the mystery behind Sawyer's father's passing puts both Sawyer and Erika in danger.

Loved the story. A great read about second chances. Can't wait to see how the rest of the group falls!

I love anthologies for meeting new-to-me authors, and for catching up with beloved authors. And when the anthology is for a charity - it's icing on the book cake.

I really enjoyed Reconcilable Claim by Lia Davis. Sawyer and Erika were close growing up, but Sawyer knew he had to let her go and chase her dreams. Now it's years later and she's back in town. Sawyer isn't about to let her go this time. He just has to convince her she's his mate...and keep her safe.

I hope this anthology raises a lot of money for #Teampink4Teri.

This is an awesome collection of stories from some of my fav authors and it's all for a great cause. Spanning different genres, these stories hit it out of the park with the drama, action, characters, mystery and, of course, the love. Dive in to this anthology for many options in the second chance romance trope - you won't be disappointed and can feel good helping out while binging ;D

I read Lia Davis short story in this collection, Reconcilable Claim

A great start to a new series. Some parts were a bit rushed and I would have like more backstory. With that being said, I really liked Sawyer and Erika together. Their chemistry is hot and sweet all together. I can’t wait to read more in the series.

This review is for Reconcilable Claim by Liz Davis -- Erika and Sawyer have loved each for years. Life and choices made kept them apart. The story of their coming together is a touching one. I loved it.

I read Yours Always, Mason by Mireille Chester
Really captured my attention from the start. His reason for breaking her is heartbreaking but it’s to keep her safe. But when he comes back she gets the truth. Will she keep her heart safe from Mason ? Or will she admit who owns it?

Reconcilable Claim by Lia Davis is a great second change romance. It is very well done and shows that even with fated mates things can happen to make them go apart and come back together.
