This was an incredible guide to the basics of starting your own little home herbal apothecary, learning about common herbs and helpful recipes to have on hand for things from pain salves to herbal mouthwashes.

I really appreciated the layout of the book showing how to make salves/tinctures/infusions in general before diving into plant specifics and specific remedies! It made it easy to digest and left me feeling confident in giving some of these recipes a go.

If you aren’t sure where to start with beginner herbalism, this is a great place. It also contains the most beautiful photography!

The book has a lovely layout, both in structure and design. The amount of information on each herb is substantial without being overwhelming/overly thorough. I sometimes find it a little boring when authors describe their personal relationships with the plants, but that wasn't the case here. It was very brief but added a nice personal touch. Much of it is about using these herbs as grown from your garden (which I tragically do not have), but the recipes all work well with dried herbs not grown yourself.

Beautifully designed, and works both as a coffee table book and introduction to herbalism. Necessarily limited to "safe" herbs as the ones that really work could be dangerous for beginners, it includes charming personal anecdotes about how each herb can be used.

Recipes I would like to try include lavender deodorant and lemon balm for the lips.

This one is a solid reference book with little fluff or woo woo stuff mixed in the herbalism. It covers several common basic starters to herbalism, and how to use the plants. It also has good plant descriptions, in case you are foraging them rather than growing them. In addition to having info, it's just a pretty book in general, even in the ebook format.

Informational. Good for beginners or those just stepping their toes into foraging, herbal gardening, and storage/creation of natural remedies. Easy to read, reference and has lovely pictures.
