*** Reviewing “BOOK ONE: HER BESTIE'S OLDER BROTHER” ***
Amanda has always had a crush on Nick, her friend Brenda’s older brother. Since Amanda had to drop out of college for lack of funds, she was thinking of asking Nick for a job at his construction company. She still felt a thrill looking at him across the room at Brenda’s surprise graduation party. But before she can ask him about a job, his parents spot her and drag her to their table.

Bored, but committed to staying overnight with Brenda, Amanda strolls out to the dark pool area to read her book. Nick is sitting in a dark corner and invites her over. Then he asks her to dance with him, a slow, sexy dance that gives her hope of something more. Until the other party goers flip on the lights and make a dash for the pool.

Later, Brenda and Amanda went through the gifts while they chatted. Brenda knew Amanda liked her brother and told her that she thought it would be cool for them to be sisters-in-law! The next morning at breakfast, when Nick returned from taking his parents to the airport, he pulled her into his arms as if they had not been interrupted the night before. When Brenda came downstairs, she told Nick that Amanda needed a job and he should give her one! Of course, he assumed that was why she was leading him on! And he walked out without Amanda having a chance to explain. Has she lost the love of her life before anything could even develop?

This was a really good story despite their difficult time getting together! I was cheering Amanda on to follow her heart! I loved the relationship with Brenda and her “second family”. It was so nice to see the caring and closeness. I definitely recommend this book. It was charming and fun to read! Then continue on with the rest of the wonderful stories collected here for you.

Maple Mills Box Set - 6 novellas filled with charm and fun

Maple Mills: The Complete Box Set contains the 6 books of this series -

This series is older and I had not read it even though I have read a number of Kate Gilead's books from the last couple of years. So when the opportunity to read this box set came up I jumped at it since I have enjoyed the other books by Kate that I have read. I always find it interesting to read earlier books by an author to see how their writing and story-telling styles have changed and usually progressed. I did enjoy this novellas and found the stories to be entertaining and engaging. The characters are likeable and interesting. As with most box sets there were two that I liked more than the others and one that was just okay, with the other two being in-between. Overall this is an enjoyable box set of novellas.

This box set contains the complete set of six books from the Maple Mills series. Each book stands alone well on its own so if you find a book, you're not enjoying you could skip it, I didn't need to skip any I enjoyed them all. They are all connected by the town of Maple Mill, friends and family. They're steamy, entertaining stories covering tropes like age gap, best friends’ brother, boss/employee, etc. This is a new to me author and now have some new books to add to my reading list.

Six age-gap storylines set around friends in Maple Mills. Once you get hooked on one story, the rest have to be read immediately, so it is a good thing they are all together in one set. Loved the characters and the locale. The storylines are all different but do include a few of the same characters as they are all friends. Really liked the situations, surprises and twists in each book. The endings were all good and went right into the next book.

I really enjoyed this boxset of age gap romances. Although I did not think there was a large gap in all of the stories. Friends, family and love are abundant in this small town.

A wonderful boxset of five short reads that are loosely connected. Each can be read as a stand-alone, but all feature characters that are trying to carve their own path be it in business, life or new fatherhood. Enjoyed reading the ups and downs as these characters try to figure out life, love and happiness.
