I’ll kill to keep her. I’ll do much worse to make her my bride.
Aida was supposed to be a gift from her father. She was an apology for stealing from the wrong man and starting a war with the Russian mob.
But I killed him and kept her anyway.
Now the Russians want to use her against me. They’ll burn the whole city to the ground trying to take her away.
I won’t let that happen. Aida’s all mine, from her pouty, delicious lips to her curvy hips. It doesn’t matter how many soldiers the Russians send at me, they won’t take what I protect.
I’m a monster. A killer. I’m not the kind of man that settles down, much less for the daughter of a thief.
But I want her, and I get what I want.
The war doesn’t matter. In the end, I’ll make her my bride.
Welcome to the Leone Crime Family! This is the first in a new series of steamy, exciting, and gritty mafia romances. Dante might be a killer, but he protects those he loves! As always, there’s no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed HEA. Enjoy! XO BB
“That’s the beauty of the mafia. Nobody knows, nobody sees, nobody talks. Police leave with shit.”
I have been loving B.B. Hamel’s books lately. I have said this before and I will say it again, B.B. writes terrific steamy romance with great stories in many of the standard romance tropes. The standard tropes are so popular for a reason. Because they are some of our favorites.
This was the Mafia boss gets a girl in exchange for some sort of payment. In this case the Italian Mafia Boss is a Capo and his name is Dante. He has a Russian Bratva rival, Vlas in nearly the same position as him in a nearby territory, and when one of the guys in his territory mistakenly steals a great deal of money from the Bratva boss, Dante has to make him pay the price, including paying back what he stole.
The thief, who is also a drug addict, brings his daughter to Dante as a gift and that is how Aida ends up with Dante. She technically isn’t a captive, but it is safer for her to stay with Dante because the Bratva boss would kill her if she stayed at her house. He is the kind of guy that would kill her just to prove a point or even just for his own fun. Of course Vlas is not happy with the reparations and still wants Aida, which starts a war between the Italians and the Russians.
This was actually one of the best Mafia stories I have read in a while. The war and violence was fascinating for a mafia story and there was so much action. This book was also sizzling hot and I give it a heat index of five out of five flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I would give more if I could. The world building and character development were also terrific. There were quite a few supporting characters that each had their own voice and we got to know them.
I think this is probably the best B.B. Hamel book I have read so far and I can’t wait to read more Mafia storylines from her. This book was longer than her other books I have read, which usually run between 100-200 pages. This book was something like 320 pages, but it went fast and like I said there was so much going on, and I was truly entrenched in the story from the get go.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Obsessed with His Bride is surprisingly good. I was expecting silly dark romance. Miss Hamel done a great job bringing the chemistry alove between Dante and Talia. It has this feeling of stereotype dark romance but it does not bored me.
Both characters are OK. Their chemistry is hot. Plot is recycle.
This H is describing everybodies outfits like he’s the fashion police. Idk it just made his pov too feminine… so I just couldn’t buy him as a big bad mafia dude when he’s telling me his enforcer is dressed in skintight black jeans etc. I’m outta here. This is my second DNF with this author. I’m giving up.
DNF! started off with him describing his own looks - he is in mafia, not fashion business. 1st chapter read more like a Fanfic than an established writer.
2nd chapter - i was so bored with their conversation that i went and looked up chocolate brownie videos. found some really interesting recipe!
i think i am dropping my quest in searching for good mafia book here! this is 3rd book in a row which i DNF! i need a break!
This is my first time reading a B.B. Hamel book and it was very intense, gritty and smexy too (which I loved). Dante, the hero was no joke when it came to getting Vlas, the Russian brigadier back after he tried to kill him time and time again! And the heroine, Aida after she got over what Dante had to do to her father was all in trying to help Dante go after the Russian!
Looking forward to the next books in the series but hoping it's Steven's story is next!
Oh and the extra bonus book was excellent too which gave a glimpse of Dante and Aida's life two years later with their toddler, Gino!
Aida was a pain. One minute she was disgusted with Dante then the next she wanted him. It was boring and repetitive so I mainly just scanned the pages until I got to the end to see what happened. Very disappointed.
There hasn’t been a book BB Hamel I haven’t loved. I love her writing style! When Aida’s dad steals from a club owned by the Russian bratva it puts Dante in the middle. So when her dad offers her as a gift for his mistake, Dante accepts, determined to make her his wife. But the Russians aren’t happy, Dante may have returned their money, but Vlas also wants Aida. Dante will do anything to protect her, even if it means going to war. This was a good mafia romance, lots of action, and Dante and Aida had a good connection. I loved how she wasn’t naive and didn’t make stupid decisions. She listened to Dante, and never tried to run or fight him. By the end she had grown into a real queen and stood next to Dante! She wasn’t afraid or shy anymore. Dante was so good for her, and so protective. These two were great!
Aida was supposed to be a gift from her father. She was an apology for stealing from the wrong man and starting a war with the Russian mob. But I killed him and kept her anyway. This book started off interesting, apart from the insta love thing and unfortunately spiraled down for me. The story line was interesting but just turned into a predictable wash, rinse and repeat. Their Mafia life was weird (cheap brand) The characters were okay although Ada turned into a comical and laughable Mafia queen towards the end and the build up to catching their enemy all came to a head in the last chapter was a total let down. All over it was an okay read for me.
The first book in the Leone Crime Family series, Obsessed with His Bride features Dante, a mafia boss/killer and Aida, the woman he will protect at all costs. This well written mafia romance has a gripping storyline, great characters, danger, suspense, action and plenty of steam.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
DNF@ 36% I thought this would be darker… The mc’s meet when her father “gives” her to the H as a gift after he stole from their enemy catapulting them into war with the Russians.
Dante is a “nice” mobster; he’s not edgy or particularly violent… I found him quite beta actually. I mean I guess he kind of kidnaped her (although he gives her the option to leave) but he’s really protecting her from the Russians, and she was down with the giving her away plan.
Aida is that annoying type of h that is written prickly/mouthy with a temper. I think authors want us to find them tough and feisty, but I think it makes them stupid. Why are you snapping and being hostile to people trying to protect you? I get the dad part sucked, but it was explained… and he did tell her she could leave and try to move to Florida… so it’s annoying when she decides to stay… receives food, shelter, fancy clothes, a bodyguard, and protection… then acts like a bitch for no reason.
Perfect example,
Bottom Line- I love the mafia genre but need the H to act like a boss and the h to act like a grownup… and I need them both to be smart.
**The audio is free if you have scribd but I didn't make it that far.
Obsessed With His Bride by B.B. Hamel is a possessive mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Chloe Ryan and Theo Sinclair. This is the first book in the Leone Crime Family series.
This is the second book of B.B. Hamel that I have read and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Dante and Aida. I liked that we got both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Taken By Her Prince to be released on audio so I can get Steven and Colleen's story.
Chloe and Theo did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like possessive romances, mafia romances, contemporary romance, or romantic suspense.
I wish I could say that the emphasis put on cooking when it comes to Italians is purely stereotypical but it would be lying. Plus, a man who can cook is sexy as hell so I'm not complaining. However, everything else? Didn't work for me. I didn't understand it was about the Italian Mafia otherwise I would have never picked it up but the low rating is not on the account of that. There was no build-up, everything was too much too soon and as unrealistic as this situation might be, the lack of a deep connection or a connection of any kind that isn't lust makes it even harder for me to get behind this. Had to DNF.
Audio Review: Obsessed with His Bride - A Possessive Mafia Romance (Leone Crime Family) caught my eye with its smokie hot cover and the synopsis drew me in. This is told in dual point of view which is my favorite. The beginning of the story was intriguing and I couldn't wait to listen to find out what happened next. However, when I go to about the middle of the story to the end I found it dragged a bit and didn't excite me as much as I was hoping. I did enjoy the angsty and sensual moments of the story. Aida and Dante's character's are both likeable and mesh together well. A lighter mafia listen with low action and oodles of steamy times.
Chloe Ryan, Theo Sinclair dual narration was fantastic. Chloe's inflection is sweet and a joy to listen to. Theo's infection is deep gravelly and perfect for a mafia male character. These two brought the characters and their love to reality.
Great start to a new mafia series. Dante is receives Aida as a gift from her father. He doesn’t plan on letting her go but what will happen when the Russians want to use her against him? Fast-paced, action packed read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters and an entertaining story. Looking forward to more in the series.
I love a great mafia story and this was a great read. Dante and Aida are exactly perfect for each other. This was a great story with like able characters that I really enjoyed.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Obsessed wutg Gus Bride is the first book in B.B. Hamel’s Leone Crime Family series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Aida and Dante. She is the daughter of a lowlife thief, Roger, who stole from the Russian Cartel, as a mistake. He thought he was robbing one of Dante’s businesses. In recompense, he gives Dante his daughter, Aida. Dante is one of the most successful Capos in the Leone Crime family. There is an attraction between Dante and Aida. Vlas, the son of the Russian Cartel Pakhan, is a thorn in Dante’s side. His actions toward Dante and his crew is violently contentious. Dante offers a peace offering, which Vlas rejects. He wants Aida and keeps attacking Dante’s territory. Will Dante be able to come up with an appropriate solution to satisfy his Don? Will Aida and Dante have a happy relationship? To find out, you must read this mafia romance.
B.B. Hamel does an excellent job with this age-gap and age-play romance. I find her writing style easy to follow. Hamel’s characters are likeable and multi-dimensional. The storyline is enjoyable with a perfect blend of drama, romance, and suspense. It is also a character-driven plot line. This is a captivating romance with several respectfully written steamy bedroom scenes. The plot is well thought out. I liked Hamel’s use of a two-prong plot line. One follows Aida and Dante’s romantic journey. The other is the intrigue behind the Dante’s relentless need for revenge for actions of Vlas. The result is a riveting romantic suspense story. Nicely done, Ms. Hamel.
That was a nice story! Not at all what I was expecting, but good. Dante is a badass mafia Capo and is intrigued by Aida from the start. It was not instalove though. Aida was an ok heroine. Nothing too special. There were a few little things that bothered me while reading: why does Dante call Aida ‘Little Aida’? It just isn’t sexy or sweet in any way to me. Another thing was that somewhere in the book Dante and Aida are at a club and Dante helps a few girls he deems ‘hot’ to get into the club quicker even though he is there with Aida. What was the purpose of that? I just feel like Dante wasn’t as obsessed with Aida as I was expecting from the title. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I hate not writing a good review but the book was boring and just outlandish. I love a good bad guy but Dante was just boring until he hit the bedroom. Sorry author but if someone is paying for this they need an honest review.
For a mafia romance i found the situation awkward. Why would a daughter agree to be traded to a debt by a father who was never there. And her becoming a boss was far fetched. But I kept reading so there was something about the story.
The actual title should be 'Obsessed with His "Little" Bride'. Considering how many times main H calls Aida 'little'. It kind of feels like a sexist remark.
