When it comes to American literature “Beyond Demon” is the perfect American cocktail that begins with a western shoot out in the 1870s, then moves to the 1960s involving drug smuggling, murder, kidnapping, Mexican Federales, assassinations and corrupt government officials.
Follow Vietnam veteran, Morgan Chapman, as he uses his skills as a Marine working for the FBI to smuggle drugs across the Mexican border, only to find out this will be one of the easier times in his life. Because when an otherwise innocent spring vacation to a Mexican resort town turns into a rape-murder bloodbath, the dominoes fall, fating Morgan to lose everything he holds dear in life, and sending him down a path of vengeance.
Using his guile, military training, endurance and a little bit of his blue-eyed charm, Morgan locates the individual responsible for ruining his life and sets out to methodically take him down, all while evading the corrupt local police and FBI. Every step of the way there seems to be a damsel in distress or a temptress in wait, making his job all that much harder.
Morgan's two tours in Vietnam may have been hell, but it's a cake-walk compared to what awaits him in Demon, California.
The story is about a college guy working for the FBI as a drug smuggler. He is an ex Marine and that skill set comes in handy as Morgan Chapman keeps finding himself in a world of trouble. Morgan is orphaned, and raised by a Shaman in the Kwaapaay Tribe.
He and his cousins are close.
He and his cousins and a couple girlfriends go to Mexico for Spring Break They get in big trouble with the Federalies and are soon on the run through the Mexican desert trying to reach US San Diego!
This story of Morgan Chapman was like watching a movie Kinda of predictable but you don’t mind because he is a charmer who always seems to get the bad guy.
I enjoyed the story and will read Michael Sullivan again. 💫💫💫💫 #ilovebooks #bookstagram #beyonddemon #michaelsullivan
