Charisma Quinn and I were at each other’s throats even before my father killed hers. Something about her gets under my skin and won’t get out.
But she’s the key to a great new direction for my MMA promo company, so I have to come face to face with her again. I can’t deny my attraction to her, even as we fight. And I can’t deny the ghosts of our past either, especially when the sexual tension between us gets too intense to ignore.
The path to redemption isn’t going to be a smooth one for either of us...
Born and raised in Chicago, Jax was a quiet soul who kept to himself but let his personality fly in his writing. He realizes sometimes its easy to write than it is to talk about what you’re going through so he uses his writing to help others relate. When he’s not writing he’s working out embracing a clean eating lifestyle.

🅡🅔🅥🅘🅔🅦 This is the second book that I’ve read in the Ares Falls Billionaires Series. It is told from the dual point of views of both Jay and Charisma. I am new to reading sports romance, and reading about the business side of MMA fighting kept my interest. I loved the banter between the two main characters and seeing their growth during the book. I felt like I was able to connect more to Charisma than any other character in the series so far. She seems to be holding everyone else’s stuff together and struggles when she needs help or showing her vulnerable side to others. The background of both characters was also intriguing. I look forward to reading more books by Jax. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review,
I was captivated from beginning to end! I loved Jay and Charisma. They are both so broken because of the same incident ... Jay's father killed Charisma's father (because Charisma's father killed Jay's mother). I know if sounds convoluted, but when you read the book you will totally understand. I loved that Charisma was very successful in her professional life ... normally the guy is rich and the girl just scraping by. The intimate scenes between Jay and Charisma are very HOT! The writing in this series has been excellent and this book is no different. The characters are well developed and the banter is very realistic ... especially between the four friends. Who do you believe ... Jay's father or Charisma's brother? I was going back and forth between the two and the outcome is jaw dropping. This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait for Asher's story because he's always so secretative ... I know it's going to be good!
I received an early copy courtesy of Grey's Promotion in exchange for a honest review.
Jax McKay is a brand spanking new to me author and y'all, what a book. This is a standalone in the Ares Billionaire series and Jax delivered a deliciously enticing story that had me all in my feels from the very start.
Jay's Redemption was everything I was hoping it would be and then some y'all (THAT blurb was what first drew me in!). This is a second chance romance packed with loads of feels, heat, heart, steam, complicated history, and twists that'll keep you on your toes. Charisma and Jay lit up my kindle from the moment they landed and whoa. All that passion, tension, animosity. What a stunner when it finally all came together for these two.
I honestly cannot wait to dive headfirst into the next AND back track in this series.
This book hit the ground running and didn’t let up until the very end. I love to read sports romance novels and try to get my hands on as many as possible. MMA intrigues me both as a reader and a viewer. Aside from the romantic part between Jay and Charisma I thoroughly enjoyed the business side that was a huge part of the storyline. It was something that pushed them apart but ultimately brought them back together again. I also enjoyed the other minor storyline that was about their families. All in all there was nothing not to love about this book and I will definitely be keeping my eye open on new releases from this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Jay and Charisma are in the MMA business, promotions and managing. They have been competitive since they were kids, and are constantly trying to out-do each other. They have a very messy past and now have to work with each other for the common good of a client. Through the pages we see them able to move on from their past and work through the hardships.
This was my first read by Jax McKay and although this is the 3rd book in the series I didn't feel lost or confused by the content. In most standalones I usually end up confused by some of the content lol. This was very well written and I recommend to anyone who enjoys workplace & sports romance!
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion. Thank you so much Grey’s promotions!
Jay’s Redemption is the third book in the Ares Falls Billionaires series and follows Jay and Charisma.
Jay and Charisma had a history together which ended in their teenage years that not only affected their lives but also their familys and since then they never spoke to each other again. But now, years later they are forced to kind of work together. Both Charisma and Jay are very strong characters and I really loved how successful Charisma was, that was really refreshing because I don’t read it often in books. I really loved the book and their story but their relationship development happened to fast for me, it felt like there was something missing and personally, I would have given them a little bit more time after all these years and after that backround story. But aside from that I enjoyed reading it very much. I loved the characters, their banter and arguments and overall it was a very good book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series because I love Jax MacKay’s writing.
I loved this. Its basically second chance romance, but also kind of an office romance? Jay and Charisma used to date when they were younger until things blew up in a big way for their parents. And they've fought for years, butted heads, but when they let it go things are hot between them. I liked all the fighter business, I liked the flow of the story and the characters, and I like how they worked through the crap thrown their way, mostly from their families. This series is good!
This series keeps getting better, its stories get more complicated and its characters are more interesting and hot, but Jay & Charisma are again more than I expected, just like Violet & Austin in Austin's Revenge .
I was very excited to read this book as I liked Jay from his first appearance, and I loved the idea of reading more of him and Aurelius together. Jay is a man who has had a complicated life but has managed to leave it behind, at least apparently, he's kind, flirtatious, coky and distrustful, he doesn't like to express his feelings, and everything in his life is complicated with the return of two people from the past, one of them is Charisma an old ex to whom he ties more than his failed relationship. I think Jay is much more complicated than I thought: his relationship with his father is non-existent, his feelings for Charisma are SO confused that sometimes he dosn't knows what he wants from their relationship and his chronic mistrust towards both complicates everything even more, but still he was a character that I enjoyed a lot, his attitude is simple and fun, but the best thing was to read his adorable, protective and vulnerable side with Charisma, and how much he lovesAurelius.
Charisma is a new character who immediately stole my heart she has a strong personality, is a successful girl, who loves her job and who is determined to show that she can achieve what she sets out to do, however, his family and the emotional wounds left by his relationship with Jay are permanent obstacles in his life. I really enjoyed reading how she drove Jay crazy and I LOVED that she was the one who took the initiative on more than one occasion.
Jay & Charisma have a very complicated past and present, to begin with I love that the story between their parents was more complex than what the blurb let see and that the consequences of that incident continue to affect them in the present .
One of the best aspects of their relationship was the true hatred that exists between them, which intensifies the sexual tension and desire they have for each other, and definitely one of the surprises that Charisma & Jay was the ease with which they was able to talk about the past once they became "friends with benefits." I loved that Jay showed a different side to Charisma, that he was more caring, kind and tender towards her, and that he cared about her well-being. I think that these two are much more difficult than it seems at the beginning and their problems affectl in an important way what they try to build, for that reason my only complaint regarding the story is that it seemed to me that everything was resolved very quickly between them, I think that the confession about what was stopping both of them from giving their love a chance needs to be developed a bit more
On the other hand, it was wonderful to read more about Violet & Austin's life as a couple, to see a little more about Asher and to get an idea of where their story will go, the which I can't wait to read because he's kind of my favorite.
Yeah I loved this book more than the first. Charisma and Jay were intense and full of chemistry. I love the whole storyline of their past and how it was played into the present it added so much to the whole plot it was so great it kept me guessing and it wasn’t predictable as I thought it would be. I don’t think I read a book with the whole dad murdered your dad and now their kids are dating situation it’s new and isn’t a recycled plot line. I love how Jax McKay adds a character that will give LOGICAL and real advice like a normal best friend would it makes the read less stressful and more enjoyable because the characters aren’t clueless and jumping to conclusions.
Btw Aurelius, Jay’s dog was everything he is such a good dog. Charisma is so relatable, driven, and the small doubt and fear was real. I respected the fact that’s she kept trying to have a good relationship with her family but knew if they didn’t want to change she couldn’t make them. I loved Jay I just wish we got to see more of his personality and more background details. He was rational and didn’t completely blame Charisma for her freak out and tried to come to different conclusions as to why she was acting like that which I loved because most books don’t have characters like this. I loved their character growth from both with their family and selves. This made for a great ending!!
I will say that the book was more about their family situations then them as a couple it was still there though. This book was a bit fast pace I wish they would have taken more time to want each other as their grown selves instead of having just one talk and deciding to date. Regardless this series is so great so far and would recommend to anyone who wants a fast read with great characters. I cannot wait to read more from Jax McKay!
This is the third book I've read in the Ares Falls Billionaire series and I was looking forward to reading Jay's story. He made a good impression when he actually gave Violet the benefit of a doubt in book 2 when no one else did.
Jay and Charisma have a tragic past beginning when Jay's father killed Charisma's father because Charisma's father killed Jay's mother. Pretty bizarre, right? While this went down Jay and Charisma were having a volatile relationship in high school involving sex and fighting until one drunken night at a party some unforgivable things were said. Taking Jam y's angry words to heart, Charisma worked hard to prove him wrong that she would indeed leave their neighborhood and make something out of herself. Even to the point of stealing some of Jay's MMA clients when he was a fight manager. Needless to say, there is some hostility between them when she wants his company to represent her new female MMA fighter.
The chemistry between these two is hot and steamy as they enjoy each other's bodies while trying to hold back their feelings. Trust is a problem with both of them. Especially with Jay's worries about his estranged father who is living with him after getting out of prison. And Charisma is dealing with serious issues between her crazy and unreasonable mother and her naive and immature brother. There is an interesting twist at the end that finally brings Jay and Charisma together.
The behind-the-scenes look at the MMA business is interesting and, of course, I look forward to reading Asher's and Cash's stories.
I recommend this steamy second chance romance filled with heat, love, angst, and a few twists and turns.
Thank you to Mr. McKay for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Jay and Charisma had a history, one that ended when his dad killed Charisma’s for having an affair with his wife. Charisma grew up and became one of the sought-after fighter managers and Jay is now co-owner of one of the best MMA fighting companies. As these two have their worlds collide they fight the attraction that they still have simmering below the surface. That is until it erupts one night. However, there are forces that are still doing everything that they can to keep them apart. Will the force win or will Jay and Charisma finally get the happy ever after that they almost had at 18?
These two are so amazingly written. Jay is head strong and all alpha. He has done everything he can to survive in the world with his mom dead and his dad in jail. Being left alone after on fateful night. Thankfully he has had Austin, Asher and Cash in his life to keep him moving forward.
Charisma is an unbelievably resilient woman that has worked hard to get ahead of where she was when she was 18. She works hard to help her mom and brother as well as learned to take better care of herself. Her brother means so much to her.
Jax has created yet another book that has you reading until the very end to find out the twists that are happening. No relationship, regardless if it is friendship or love, is easy and this book showcases all of that. I love the glimpses of Austin and Violet as well as Asher and his skills and Cash. Looking forward to book 3 in the series!!
One little argument changed everything between them years ago and started a war with their families that hasn't wavered since. Charisma knows that war alone will make it hard for Jay to want to help her, but with their past relationship in the mix too, she is certain he will turn her away. They have too much history, old wounds that haven't healed, and meddling families that will definitely be in the way... but she's desperate for his help. Her MMA client needs a better deal and she knows Jay's company is the one who will get it for him.
But that would require them to play nice and work together... and that is a lot to ask!
Jays Redemption is a slow burn second chance romance that is destined to keep you captivated from beginning to end. These two enemies will square off amongst the pages and stir up a lot of drama, emotions, and steam for you to get wrap up in. They have a past that still holds a lot of hurt, families who hate one another, and of course wounds left by others, so it takes them a minute, or five, to get to a place where they see the potential that is between them. But once they do all bets are off!
Watching these two make amends, find forgiveness and embrace love was so moving, and good for my slightly battered heart! Highly recommend this series, it just keeps getting better and better!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
☆☆☆☆ Jay’s Redemption was just as engaging and consuming as the previous books. I’ve definitely become a fan of Jax McKay’s writing style. There weren’t any incidences of boredom or having to skip portions of the book. This second chance, enemies to lovers trope focuses on Jay and Charisma. I loved these two. They were together as teenagers until their fathers’ actions destroyed them and put their families permanently at odds. It’s more than complicated when Charisma comes back into Jay’s life but he needs her help when it comes to his MMA business. I enjoy reading about the MMA world. I’ve read more sports romances about that then any others. The characters also hold a special place in my heart. I was really rooting for these two to work things out. The chemistry between them was already hot enough to burn. Add in the heart and you get something really special. This romance was definitely time well spent. I highly recommend this book and especially the series. The unexpected twists and turns sent thrill after thrill through me. My only complaint is I would have loved more, more back story, just more. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Thank yo to greys and Jax for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.
This book is the third book in the Ares Falls Billionaire series and the first of Jax's books that I have read.
Jay and Charisma both work as MMA Buisness and marketing managers but for opposing companies. These two have been competitive against each other since young and are always trying to out do one another.
The history between them is painful for both, as Charismas dad killed Jay's mother and then Jay killed CHarismas dad in retaliation for the hurt that had been brought upon him.
The sex scene and chemistry between them is palpable and seriously HOT, which only adds to the brilliance of this book. I was gripped from beginning to end and couldn't put it down. My only critique would be that although the history between them kept you gripped it felt a little rushed in the reveal because all of a sudden it was over sort of thing but it doesn't affect the reading as I still enjoyed the story.
Bring on the next book of Jax's because I certainly can't wait after reading Jay's story.
My Overall Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋 My Passion Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋
This is a great fast paced entertaining series. Jay and his best friends have a MMA promotion company. He loves what he does and loves what him and his friends have created. Charisma is a MMA fighter manger and is good at her job when she goes to Jay and his friends to get one of her clients a better deal she knows she is asking a lot. Jay and Charisma have a extremely sorted past. Not only do they have a past relationships but their parents have a messy past with each other. When these two see each other again a lot of feelings are brought back up. Can they work together without bringing up the past? Will old feeling come back into play? When these two can’t resist the hot chemistry between them watch out! When resentment from what happened between their parents comes out, hold on to everything! I loved This book sooo much. I love this friend group even more! Between having each other’s back no matter what and their laugh out loud banter, I can’t Get enough of them. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Jay & Charisma used to be together before murder came between their families, and made sure they wouldn't have a future together. These days she's worked hard to become a very popular MMA manager while he co-owns a MMA promo company, and since they run in the same circles now, it's only a matter of time before they interact again. And that chance comes when she needs his help for one of her fighters, so she's going to have to play nice with him for the good of her fighter. There's a lot of hurt between them & that whole family hate situation but they still have serious chemistry in spades so once they get out of their own way, maybe just maybe there will be a second chance for these two. Of course, that would be too easy and there are outside forces who want to make sure that never happens so I was on the edge of my seat the whole time between the slow burn situation, and the twists coming in hot. I LOVED Jay's Redemption, and I believe you will as well after you hit those one click buttons since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Jay’s Redemption by. Jax McKay This is the second book in this amazing series. So I was ecstatic and on pins and needles waiting for the ARC to this book. We meet Jay on Austin’s book. This is Jay’s and Charisma’s story and it is all that I expected and more. Oh these two they are delicious. They are like a grease fire and water if you pour it there is this combustion that will engulf every single thing around. Even though they are specialists at pushing each other’s buttons there is this history between them that is complicated. Will they get in each other’s way or will they give themselves a second chance at love? You will have to read to find out. I will tell you this. This book is so well written and has so much intensity with a lot of twists and turns. You will find that is has all the emotion and passion you would want in a book as well as tension, turmoil and some very steamy scenes. It is definitely a must read and recome you go and grab it now.
This book will hook you from the very first page!!
Jay is one of the owners of the hottest MMA league, and now he has to work with the one woman who managed to get under his skin. Charisma is an amazing manager for MMA fighters, and she is trying to get one of her hottest fighters in with Jay's league. Now all Jay and Charisma have to do is work together even though they cannot stand one another. They were hot and heavy 15 years ago, but one fight changed everything.
Jay and Charisma were hot, hot, hot! You can tell that they still care deeply for each other by how much they hate each other. Neither one of them got over the other person, but their complicated past got in the way. The moment they are forced together and talk, all of the feelings come back and they cannot keep their hands off of each other.
I love how much Jay and Charisma grew throughout this book. They did not instantly fall back in love with each other. They both had to get over some stuff before they could truly get back together. And Jay grow up!!!
Charisma and Jay both have history from when they were teens that impacted not only their lives but their families too. They both now work in the fight world and are having to figure out working together to get a fighter Charisma manages to star in a new weight class that IMC (Jay and his buddies new fight company) is introducing.
They are both really strong headed characters. Because of that I felt like they went from enemies to lovers way to quick. I wanted more build up and more banter. It was mainly just inner monologue on their frustrations with their history. Their storyline had a lot of potential to be fantastic but just jumped into it to quick for me personally.
Otherwise, I do really like this IMC world and the guys in it. I’m looking forward to seeing what Jax McKay has in store for Cash and Asher.
Jay and Charisma have a very messy and complicated past. They are forced into each other’s lives again through work. They’re both stubborn people, they bicker and dig their heels in just to spite each other. This is a second chance/enemies to lovers romance. It’s set in the sports world of MMA. Their chemistry is undeniable and they are very sexy together. I enjoyed their light banter and the chemistry is hot! Both are dealing with family stress and issues, their families are tied together by tragedy. I liked the characters, their story was interesting and they are both very likable. The drama and surprises seemed natural, not overblown even though the incidents are quite serious. It was a really enjoyable story, I like the main and secondary characters. The author has an understated writing style. I enjoy the low key drama and romance.
Jay Fox owns a MMA promo company with his best friends. He was the manager for his friend, Austin until they created their company. He's worked with Charisma in the past and she drives him absolutely nuts.
Charisma Quinn hates Jay Fox and the feeling is mutual. With their past (and what a past!) They just can't get along. Well now they have to for the sake of their jobs. She can do it... Maybe...
This book was hilarious! It was a cross between enemies-to-lovers/second chance romance. I didn't read the first book regarding Austin but I didn't feel lost. I really wanna go back a read it just for the experience.
The banter between Jay and Charisma was so perfect. The drama between them and what went on with their families was so tragic but also able to move on together. The chemistry was there even when they didn't want it to. I can't wait for Asher's story.
I've very quickly became a fan of Jax McKays work!....
Jay's Redemption, Book 3 in The Ares Falls Billionaire Series where we meet Charisma - Jay's kind-of enemy/ex-girlfriend! And there's no denying things are complicated with them!!!...Talk about history!!! I don't even know where to start 🤭
They've both been burned so they're closed off when it comes to relationships or friendships. Neither have scored well in the family department and they're both extremely hard-working! But can they work together.....
Although I think it ended a bit abruptly, I still really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the other books!
⭐⭐⭐⭐
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review.
Sports romance novels tend to be 90% of what I read. But I’ve never read MMA before, surprisingly. I think I’m gonna have to again, though. Jax McKay has converted me with Jay’s Redemption.
Jay & Charisma have history, serious history, which leads to an excellent enemies to lovers plot, with just enough family drama. There’s a hell of a lot of history there, too.
Along with their history comes a shed load of explosive chemistry. They’re HOT. The way they try to keep their work and *intimate* interactions separate is pretty funny though, because everyone knows that that never ends the way you hope it will.
Although this book is pretty different to what I’m used to, I definitely enjoyed it a lot, to the point where I was awake faaaar too late reading it.
This is Book 3 in the Ares Falls Billionaires Series by this author. It is a second chance romance between former lovers, Jay and Charisma. Once they re-connect, it is a journey of self-discovery as these two flawed but likeable characters figure out a renewed relationship between them with love and intimacy while overcoming life's challenges. It is a slow burn love story dealing with maturing love, forgiveness, and redemption, along with some drama, turmoil, passion, and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Grey's Promotions and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Jay's story is another great addition to this series. It's a combination enemies to lovers/workplace romance. Our main characters have a past that could have over shadow the story and I think negatively impacted the series but the author does a great job of incorporating the past, their need to successfully work together for their businesses and then the romance which was great with it's witty banter. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next in the series.
Jay's Redemption by Jax McKay is book 5 in the Ares Falls Billionaires Series. This is the story of Jay and Charisma. This is a second chance romance in addition to families who are enemies. Jay and Charisma where once young and in love but their families crossed the line with causing violet actions to be taken. This of course broke up the young lovers. Now in their present day, Jay and his colleagues have a MMA promotional company. Charisma is a MMA manger and wants to get a better deal for one of her clients which brings her back into Jay's sites. Enjoyed this book.
This is the 2nd book in this impressive series and is Jay and Charisma’s journey. These two are like petrol and a match, combustible, and they have a complicated history, but they know how to push each-other’s buttons. Jay needs Charisma to steer his business in the direction he wants it to head towards, but will they get a 2nd chance at love? This is a well written story which is intense, and with twists, redemption, emotions, passion, turmoil, tension, and is a steamy and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
While I think the title is a bit misleading…because I didn’t feel that Jay needed redemption himself…I enjoyed this second chance story. I will admit that Charisma didn’t wow me as much as Jay himself did, maybe because I already met him in the previous book? Regardless, I liked the story, which turned out way more complex with their shared personal and family drama then I expected. But it kept my interest, even if I still have one question about the past that wasn’t answered. This can be read as a stand-alone book with no problem.
