Born and raised in Chicago, Jax was a quiet soul who kept to himself but let his personality fly in his writing. He realizes sometimes its easy to write than it is to talk about what you’re going through so he uses his writing to help others relate. When he’s not writing he’s working out embracing a clean eating lifestyle.
Asher needs an assistant, so his company has hired him one. Unfortunately for him, she's way too young, and she's absolutely gorgeous. No matter, he won't be stepping over that professional line. Right?
Raven had to escape. Working at IMC will be the perfect place for her to get away from her family. Not only will she be making her own money, but her bosses seem like good guys (even if she is crushing on Asher), and it's far from her family. But when someone from her crazy circumstances comes back to haunt her, she'll need to rely on not just Asher, but herself, to get her out of the mess she's found herself in.
Asher is quite different from his brother Austin (Austin's Revenge), but I found I really liked that about him. He's not as serious as Austin, is more approachable. He and Raven, though far apart in age, actually made a great couple, even though they weren't technically one for long. There's suspense, which really makes the story even better, and of course the heat between the two is one of the best parts. Definitely another great installment of this series. Now I'm anxiously awaiting Cash's story (Cash's Match).
ARC provided by Grey's Promotions for an honest review.
Asher has been my favorite in this series since I read Awakening , so I was very excited and with high expectations abput this story, and thankfully it didn't disappoint, and gave me much more than I expected thanks to Raven! This two are the most adorable and sensual couple by the author so far, and I think their book was a perfect balance between cuteness, sensuality, fun and drama, definitely my favorite in the series.
Raven is a new character in the series, the new assistant at IMC and who will be working closely with Asher, is a cute, kind, humble and hard-working girl who seeks to start a new life and flee from a heartbreaking truth. Raven was a very pleasant surprise, I loved her attitude from beginning to end, the ease with which she stole my heart and her naughty good girl side was the best of the book. She has a VERY interesting personal story and a super well defined moral, which I really enjoyed discovering, plus, I really liked the way she adapted to her new environment and how she faced the obstacles that were presented to her. P.D.She's my favorite girl on the series too.
Asher is a very interesting man, intelligent, more reserved than Austin, but much more adorable, flirtatious and cute, with problems accepting compliments and a complicated past. Asher was a bit like the mystery of the group so far, but I loved discovering a totally different and unexpected side of his personality, reading a little more about his relationship with Austin and the bond between them, and knowing how cute and flirtatious he can be, hands down confirm that he's my favorite among the four founders of IMC.
I think that at this point I can no longer say that I'm not a fan of age-gaps, but I always read them with great caution because for me there are lines that shouldn't be crossed, and Jax McKay did an excellent job with this story! I loved that the attraction between Asher & Raven was mutual and at the moment they met for the first time, and although both try to stay away from each other, the situation with the company prevents them and they end up giving in to their wishes in a quite surprising, sensual and VERY WELL-written way, I think Jax uses the age difference between them and the Raven being a virgin factor in a perfect way, as she puts the right importance on both aspects and is not something the main characters are constantly tormenting themselves over. Another thing that I really liked was the team that Asher & Raven formed to solve the doping problem with their wrestlers, I LOVED her to understand the way Asher works and that she could see things that he doesn't even notice, and that for him it's the same with Raven, plus I loved the fact that their relationship started as something casual and his feelings evolved as they're meet and spend more time together.
I think there is no doubt how much I liked their story, and that they are my favorite couple in this series, and although Cash and the mysterious Juliette are not here yet, I think my love for Raven & Asher isn't going to change.

I love this series and couldn't wait to read about the mystery man behind the computer.
Asher is a quiet, intelligent, ex-con computer hacker who is Austin's fraternal twin. He's the more reserved and more private of the brothers and has an unexpected playful personality in the bedroom. I considered the sixteen-year age gap between Asher and Raven a bit much because it is seriously not my thing; however, I liked the fact that the attraction was mutual and when they finally give in, it is well-written, and not all alpha male dominating the pretty young virgin. Raven's strength and determination to be bolder really made the experience more palatable for me as she takes the initiative during their first sexual encounter.
Raven is the new assistant at Asher's company and she is very bubbly and hardworking. Her humbleness is refreshing as well as her pleasant manner as she slowly wins Asher's heart. As she and Asher work together to solve a doping problem with their wrestlers, they place themselves in danger that is tied to a secret that Raven is keeping about her family. May I just say I laughed when Asher brought a mallet to a gunfight. He definitely needs to keep his day job.
Supporting characters include the founders of the IMC and their love interests. I loved watching Austin with his new baby, and I'm looking forward to reading about Cash and the mysterious Juliette.
This is my fourth book in the series and though I liked Asher and Raven's story, it wasn't my favorite. I found the kidnapping scene to be too campy and unnecessary. However, I did like the romance and the charming characters. Please see my review for Awakening, Austin's Revenge, and Jay's Redemption.
Thank you to Mr. McKay for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Raven is looking for a fresh start, some place where no one knows her story or her heartbreak, and she finds that at IMC. The minute she walks through the door there she feels safe, needed, and appreciated... which is a little foreign to her, but comforting none the less. She isn't looking for love or complications, but then she meets Asher, and something about him draws her in. He is a little older than the men she usually dates, but that doesn't seem to matter once she begins to get to know him. He makes her feel things she never knew were possible, shows what it feels like to truly be cared for and loved. They may have an instant connection, but they do their best to keep it under wraps for the sake of the rules...
Asher's Downfall is a perfectly paced romance brimming with danger, suspense, steamy interactions, and touches of heart-wrenching emotion. Raven wasn't looking for love, but it found her the moment she walked through the door at IMC. Asher catches her eye the first day, and just continues to monopolize her attention as the days pass. He makes her feels things, keeps her safe, and helps her slay her demons... he is an unexpected blessing to her life. As she is to his. They are pure magic on the page!
These two captured my attention from the get-go, their palpable connection drew me in, and had me dying for more. Page after page they dazzled me with their banter, stolen glances, and secret passionate interactions. They easily took the top spot as my favorites in the series, they were so hard to let go of when the last page came! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Oh boy, buckle up and enjoy the ride with this one. Asher has skated by recently with work. He is the twin brother to Austin and is the hacker of the group. He has multiple things that he does, but the biggest is the computers. As it appears he has too much going on it is decided that the team hires an assistant for him. Enter Raven. She lights a fire within Asher, but he knows that she is too young and needs to keep his hands to himself. Problem with that is, there is a fire that burns bright between them and not much is going to make that fire burn out. As they work together, they uncover something that involves Raven’s family and she is determined to find out what it is. Can Asher keep Raven safe, or will it be too late for them?
Asher was a surprise for me. We don’t see much with him in the previous books but man I love the dynamic these guys all have and then add their girls and it is their own big family regardless of if they are related or not. They look out for each other through everything and do whatever is necessary to keep them safe. Raven is amazing. This girl may be young, but she has an amazing head on her shoulders and is always giving everything she has. She is strong and independent but doesn’t care if she must lean on someone. I love all the different levels in the books Jax has in this series with not just love but always twists and turns you don’t expect. I can’t wait for Cash’s book as I know it will be amazing!
I loved Asher and Raven ... they just seemed to fit together so well. Raven has this bubbly personality that is infectious and you can't help but like her. Asher is the quiet brooding type ... you just know he's ten steps ahead of everyone else. This is your typical case of opposites attract. The banter between all the characters is very realistic and the intimate scenes are very steamy.
Asher is Austin's twin and went to jail for hacking, but he's out now and he handles all the IT needs for their MMA company IMC. Asher is the quiet one who sticks mostly to himself and his computer. But when his partners hire him an assistant (Raven), he can't take his eyes off her ... even though she is waaayyy younger than him. Raven sees something that she knows she shouldn't have seen and runs from home ... specifically her father and uncle. She wants to make it on her own without her father's dirty money, so she takes a job at IMC and goes to school part-time. When a couple of IMC fighters test positive for drugs, and they swear they were set up, Raven and Asher investigate. It doesn't take long for their investigation to lead close to home ... too close to home.
I can't wait for Cash's story and the ever mysterious Juliette.
I received an early copy courtesy of Grey's Promotion in exchange for a honest review.
I was provided an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
"Our new assistant Raven is everything I shouldn't have — sweet, innocent, young. But the moment I saw those big blue eyes on that gorgeous face of hers, she had me hooked. Where did she come from, and why does it feel like she's hiding something?
After two of our company's fighters fail their drug tests and claim they were framed, we're forced together to figure out what's really happening. The further we dive into the mystery, the harder it is to deny our chemistry. As our investigation gets murkier, the more my suspicions that she isn't as she appeared are confirmed. The dark secret she's holding could be the key to figuring out the truth — and the key to my downfall."
First off, let me say, I like Jax McKay and his books so far. This book in particular I felt was missing something. It's not that I didn't like it, I felt like it could've been a little better. Raven and Asher started off hot and heavy and it was great. And the underlying storyline as to why Raven ran away was going pretty good. But I felt like something was missing from that. I think it ended too quickly. I felt like more could've been added to it to make it darker. Still looking forward to reading Cash's story.
Asher....the laid-back, handsome, couldnt-give-two-hoots, ex-con hacker gets his story and don't you just love when the laid back ones get hit with the dreaded feelings and fall in love!? 🤗
Raven has left home rather abruptly, moved across the country, enrolled in night classes and has gotten a full time job - she is rocking the independent adulting!! But when IMC gets hit with two of their fighters testing positive for drugs and both denying all knowledge, Asher digs deep and soon realises that Raven may well have a connection....
Can the first person he starts to care about be trying to take him down? Can she live with what made her run? I liked that these two actually communicate! Often times, you get two characters with a smidge of doubt just completely believe the worst of someone causing them to split up bla bla, this doesn't! Obviously it's not straight forward but these two actually work together and that is awesome!!
A good read, definitely enjoying this series!!! 3.5/4
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review
This is the 3rd book in this intriguing series and is Asher and Raven’s story. Asher is Austin’s twin brother, and Raven is hired as his assistant. Raven has lived a sheltered life, but she witnesses a murder which she should not have seen, and keeps it close to her chest, as the villains were her dad and uncle. There is an immediate intense connection between Asher and Raven. While they are working together, Asher and Raven uncover s drug empire, which ties back to Raven’s family, and she is determined to confront the suspects for the truth, which places her firmly in danger. When Raven is kidnapped will Asher be able to rescue Raven in time? This is a well written story which is intriguing, and with drama, suspense, danger, and with emotions, witty banter, humor, romance, family, friendships, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Raven Byrne is a new assistant at IMC, she’s in charge of keeping Asher Yorke on track. He’s the TCO of the company and his super savvy tech skills landed him in jail years ago. Now he’s putting his knowledge to good use and helps run this company with his brother and best friends. Although Raven is only 20 years old, she’s quite mature for her age. She moved to Nevada to start a new life after discovering something dark in her family. Working with Asher, they try to uncover what’s going on and in they end up with lots of chemistry between them. Will that be enough? Raven is a good girl, Asher is an ex-con. Can they work out?
This is the third book in the series but the first one I’ve read. I enjoyed it! I liked the chemistry between Asher and Raven, it was nice to see such a young but strong and smart heroine! I’ll probably read the first two books so I can have a better idea of how IMC started.
I love These guys!!! The family/friendship bond they have is amazing. They are funny, protective and loyal. This series makes me extremely happy. Ashers story was no exception. Asher is the hacker of the group that served time because of his computer skills. He works with his twin and their best friends running a MMA business. He is an unorganized hot mess so they hire him a personal assistant. Raven is in college and was just hired as a personal assistant. She has major family drama that she is running from. When Asher and Raven started working together they not only uncover a major crime, they start having feelings for each other. This was a great quick read. This book was extremely entertaining and had a few twists and turns I wasn’t Expecting. I’m looking forward to Reading Cash’s story. This series has been a enjoyable journey and I don’t want it to end.
Asher’s Downfall by Ajax McCay I have really enjoyed this series so far so was very excited to have my hands on the ARC for this book and Asher’s story. We finally get to know Asher the brains behind the computer. As we all know if you have been reading the series from the beginning we know that Asher and Austin are twins. I mean come on hot twins. We also know that he has been to prison and served his time. Asher is reserved and quiet and is a genius when it comes to computer and hacking. He is in desperate need an assistant so in come Raven. Raven is a young sweet person yet has moxie. She has this strength and determination you can’t help but like. The only thing I wasn’t into is whole six year gab Virgin thing but the rest of the story helps overlook that. Truly enjoying each book from this series and this author cannot wait for Cash’s book.
This book is all about Asher's story, and I was excited to read about the mysterious man behind the computer.
Asher is a loner, genius computer hacker. He is trying to "fit in" with his brother, Austin's company, but he does not see what else he could be doing. Raven is the new assistant. She is trying to escape her life in California after she discovered something about her father. The attraction between the two is immediate, but it takes them a while before they act out on their feelings.
The 16 year age gap did not bother me that much. They were both attracted to each other, and Asher was not a alpha in the bedroom, he wanted Raven just as much as Raven wanted him.
The story was a little choppy in places. And the whole kidnapping scene just seemed off. Overall, though good story.
Rating 5/5 Plot 5/5 Spice 3/5 Character Development 5/5
“Asher’s Downfall” is the third book in Jax McKay’s Ares Falls Billionaires series. This book tells the story of Asher (Austin’s twin brother) and Raven (the new assistant at IMC who works closely with Asher). When Asher and Raven meet, they immediately have a mutual attraction for one another. Although their main priority is work and they try their best to put aside their feelings, it isn’t that easy. This book follows an age gap trope and I love the character and relationship development between Asher and Raven.
This is one of my favourite series because I love wrestling and Jax does a great job balancing the MMA sport with the romance genre. I look forward to reading Cash’s story in the fourth book in the series “Cash’s Match”!
I’m loving this series. Asher has kind of been in the background so I was intrigued to see how his story would play out. Right from the beginning there were feelings developing between himself and Raven. The age gap stalled a relationship from blooming as early as it possibly could have started but that whole will they or won’t they is romance novel gold to me. I absolutely love it. The build up in this book was outstanding and really set the tone for the whole story. Then the added suspense part had me flipping page after page just needing to see how this all ended up being resolved. Great writing, epic storyline and characters that I actually wish I knew in real life - makes this a book I know I will read again. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I have enjoyed this series so much and was so happy to see Asher get his story. Asher is a bit reserved and a genius when it comes to computers. He works with his twin brother, Austin, and when he’s in need of an assistant, one is hired for him. Then enters Raven, his sweet bubbly new assistant and he can’t take his eyes off her, but knows she’s too young. As the two work together, and their feelings for each other grow, their investigation may lead them too close to home. I loved Asher and Raven’s story and it’s a fantastic addition to this series.
This series is definitely getting better and better. I really enjoyed Asher and Raven's story. It was sweeter than Jay's story. And it's full of action, mystery and suspense too. It's a ride reading this one. I loved both Asher and Raven's characters. Asher is a bit grumpy and Raven has an innocent, but strong side to her. Their chemistry is off the charts and who thought Asher can be a swoony hero. Loved it.
I generously received this book as an ARC. All opinions are my own. Oh my goodness I think Asher may be my favorite. I have a thing for bad boys, grant it all the Ares falls boys are bad boys but there is something about Asher.....I think this may be my favorite of the series. I could not put it down. I read this book in a day!!! I will however hold my decision until we get Cash's story. I have a feeling Cash is going to break hearts and take names (lol -I think?). Looking forward to #4!!!!
This series is one I’m really enjoying and would recommend it to fans who love romance, drama, and some page turning suspense. Throw in a bit of sports talk and you have a winner. Asher and Raven have an intense connection and what they experience will have you needing to know how it al goes down. Add this one to your list. It does not disappoint.
Asher and Raven will give you all the happy feels! Sweet with a side of action packed events. Asher may have been the grumpy bad boy personified but Ravens innocent nature gave them the perfect balance. With mystery and crime solving adventures for both of them this book covers it all!

Loving this series & all of its characters. Ready for Cash's book next!
This was such a fun and entertaining book! I totally love Asher as he is so swoon-worthy and Raven is such a perfect match for him. The chemistry between them was sizzling hot, both in and out of the bedroom, and was it ever a steamy hot romance! This is the first book I've read in this series, and is definitely a standalone though I want to go back and read the first two!
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
