Unfortunately, a tragedy stands in the way of their happily ever after, and it comes in the form of reports of an armed gunman at the local high school. Bay, ghosts at her side, braves the scene to save the kids… and uncovers something horrific.
She. The boy with the gun says he needs to find her. The teacher in the room with him says the same thing before taking his own life. There’s a magical being in Hemlock Cove, and she’s wielding a great deal of power as she forces people to kill in her name.
Bay refuses to back down, convinced that the magical explosion they can’t get under control at Hollow Creek is partially to blame. The problem is so big, another witch needs to be tapped to help them solve it.
Scout Randall, part of the Spells Angels group in Hawthorne Hollow, is more than happy to lend her services. She owes the Winchesters a favor after all. She simply might not be enough.
Bay and Landon have been through more than any couple should have to survive… and they’re not done.
Here comes the wedding… and Clove’s baby… and the worst enemy they’ve ever fought.
The Winchesters are strongest together, and this time they’re going to prove that there’s no keeping a good witch down.
I do? It’s coming, because nothing can stop these witches when love and family are on the line.
When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
Bay Winchester finally gets her happily ever after, even if there are a few bumps before the big day. I was mostly satisfied with how things ended, though there were plenty of little threads that weren’t tied up. I kind of felt that if these stories had been going for this long, there’s plenty of story left to tell. But, ending it with Bay’s wedding does make sense. It’s mostly the story of her relationship with Landon, even though we get a good look at everyone in the family along the way. Still one of my favorite quick reads!
This was nothing special. It was a given that once Clove was pregnant and Bay’s marriage had been talked about in previous books, that of course they’d happen within days of each other. I did guess it would happen the day of, so at least that wasn’t perfectly predictable. The rest, yep pretty predictable. I would have only given one star, but because the hackneyed story of baby on same day as wedding wasn’t utilized, I gave it two. Not that it was good enough of a story for two, only because my initial supposition was wrong.
I wouldn’t even mind predictable stories, if they were good. This wasn’t good. Once again it was another crossover palooza. That is getting extremely old. It also makes it even more obvious when lead characters from each of the books interact, that they are virtually watered down copies of each other. So there was Stormy & Hunter and Scout & Gunner, plus Evan and the remainder of the Spells Angels. BORING!! I swear does the author have no new ideas and the only concept she can come up with are crossovers. She’s not Marvel Studios, and even they couldn’t make this many crossovers occur and make it a good.
The double team bad guy villains were obvious from the start. The moment the first two deaths occurred, talking about ‘She’, it was of course only going to be the new witch in town causing it. Then mentioning a magic-less witch like Minerva and the weird magical nexus people could tap, pointed her out early on and that she would want to steal the magical baby to boot. Bad plot with so many weak holes and obvious devices, we could have been watching a bad sitcom episode.
The whole love affair between Landon and Bay is more downright disturbing then showing something worthwhile. They are both so completely co-dependent of each other that hopefully they will never have kids. Those poor kids will always be afterthoughts and not a priority in these two twits lives. It’s bad enough they have to bring up their two week separation, in every book, but I think it was brought up three times alone in this one. Obviously they keep bringing it up, because they don’t really trust one another and think something like this could easily happen again. It should, they are horrible people. You don’t see Terry and Winnie whining that it took them years before they finally got together. Most of that delay was because Bay and cousins required way too much emotional investment from their parental type caregivers for themselves, to allow anyone else to feel they should have a life. First, they had to pass these three life-suck pests off on some poor unsuspecting schmucks, ie. Landon, Marcus & Sam.
I realize it’s all a story, but I’m guessing the author is basing these characters off of people she knows of or from herself who must be emotionally damaged. Whatever profits she makes from these books should be put into a fund to help any of the horribly disturbing people she’s writing these characters about, to get the needed therapy required. There is nothing wrong with admitting to mental illness, so please get the help for any that require it and please stop using their issues to continue such bad characters in these stories.
Witchy books are my favorite and I enjoy Amanda M. Lee’s writing style, so I give this five stars. It wasn’t really about a wedding at all. Of course Landon (he’s such a softie for Bay) brought up the wedding day multiple times, but the wedding itself only took up about five pages total. That’s ok, I mean there’s not a whole lot to say about a wedding anyway - they’re fairly boring.
Bay and crew didn’t even think of the culprit shadow being the new person in town until the book was 82% done. Why wouldn’t you immediately relate the recent problems to the person on Mrs. Little’s side? And that new person being a self-proclaimed witch on top of all. Guess the other people in town needed to be looked into first, especially Amelia.
As I’ve said before, I can’t stand Clove’s constant whining. Uggg (she’s such a kvetch). Luckily her daughter helped contain the magic ball though. I bet she could get rid of the shadow with a snap of her pruned up watered-down fingers. She’s powerful! And when that person was taken down, she was gone really quick! So were her leftover remnants.
I like how Moonstone Bay was mentioned (Bay and Landon are going there on their honeymoon), because I read the Moonstone books, too. Lots of sirens and werewolves. And the main character (Hadley Hunter) lives in a lighthouse which was really cool and since I have a mini lighthouse, I’d look at it every once in awhile during my reading about one. I felt like I was there!
Stormy and Hunter also appeared in this read. I’ve read all the books about this couple, too. I like when characters from different Amanda M. Lee books are together in one story. I wouldn’t be surprised if Zoe and Aric came along, but they actually happened to appear in one of the Moonstone Bay books!
There’s also a surprise in the end of the book, too. No spoilers from me. I will say that Sam deserved it though…because Clove is a kvetch and Sam puts up with enough.
I wonder if the next book will include Bay’s offspring. Of course it will!
My next book is “Cat Killed a Rat: Quirky Cozy Mysteries (The Ponderosa Pines Series Book 1) by Regina Welling and Erin Lynn
A story worth waiting for! A formal wedding takes a lot of time to plan and put together. It's a good thing Bay has lots of help, because, as usual things aren't exactly going smoothly for the Winchester witches. First, a teenage boy is threatening to shoot a teacher at the High School. Bay, being Bay has to try to help. Calling ghosts to make sure the way is clear, she confronts the boy, and with a ghost friends help recovers the gun before there is a tragedy. Unfortunately, this is where the situation takes a bizzare turn. After doing some digging with Terry and Landon, she believes the problem is a magical one. The magical fragment situation has become a serious issue which must be dealt with before the wedding, which is only a few days away. It's good to have loyal, powerful friends. Especially when magic gets too big for its britches! Can they manage to deal permanently with this overgrown leftover magic? Then there is the shadow woman attacking Bay and her loved ones. Are the two connected, or separate? We must not forget Clove; not that she'll let us. Overdue and feeling sorry for herself one minute, screaming, and/or crying the next, Clove is afraid she is going to ruin Bay's wedding day by going into labor right in the middle of the ceremony. The midwife the moms hired so Clove can have her magic baby at the inn, is a joyless, sour, micro manager that no one likes and Aunt Tillie has decided is evil. Aunt Tillie is always right, (according to Aunt Tillie), but is she right this time? As the wedding draws closer and closer, Landon is determined that Bay get everything she wants on her most special day. Will Bay, Landon and their friends get everything sorted in time? Who will walk Bay down the isle? Will Cloves baby make its appearance before, after, or during the wedding? Most importantly of all, what will Aunt Tillie wear at the wedding?! Read this fun and fabulous book and find out for yourself! Trust me. You don't want to miss it!
.. Clove has yet to give birth and, now several days overdue, she's moving to the Overlook to be guided through the birth by a witch midwife.
If that wasn't enough, with the baby refusing to show it's face and Bay's special day imminent, there's trouble afoot with the shards at Hollow Creek growing in size almost as they watch. They need to find a way to clean up the shards before it's taken over and used against them but it's going to need some outside power from Scout and Stormy to finally get rid of it for once and all.
Bay is there for the opening of a new magic shop in Hemlock Cove, her radar's up when the new owner, Kirsten, drops into the conversation that she's a real witch from Salem brought in by Margaret Little on a grant scheme. Yet Bay can't pick up any sense of Kirsten's witch background or power concluding that Mrs Little has been duped by wannabe witch. Before she can ask too many questions though an incident at the school grabs her attention.
A student has taken a gun into the school and a tragedy is heading full force towards the students.. Bay, as usual, heads straight into the brewing storm and endeavours to protect everyone by drawing on her necromancer's skills but who is the "she" the gunman is calling for?
With more shocks to come it's a week full of distractions but can Bay dig through to the truth and save not just her own special day but the rest of her family and friends?
This is an extraordinarily awesome and entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A spectacular cast of characters and a very entertaining and always fun storyline. Bay Winchester is about to get married. Her cousin clove is about to have a baby. As usual in their little town something is about to happen and the Winchester family is going to have to step up and figure it out before it destroys the town. Read on and find out what Bay Winchester her cousins her mother and her aunts and great aunt Tilly as well as her fiancé Landon Michaels and the rest of the Winchester family group do to stop the evil plot that is a foot. Multiple crossover appearances by multiple series stars from the same magical world. Read on and find out who shows up and when and where and why did they do to contribute. Probably one of the best of the series so far. Always look forward to the next book in this exceptionally awesome series. Check it out
If you follow the prolific Amanda M Lee you know this is the denouement of Landon, F.B.I.agent & Bay Winchester, witch/necromancer extraordinaire rocky trip to the altar. But before that can happen, there's a deadly shooting at the high school. A boy seemingly possessed asking why 'she' isn't there has a gun. Bay decides to go in after sending in some ghosts to find the kid. In a strange twist, a ghost knocks the gun from his hand. While Bay tackles him, the teacher trapped with the boy picks up the gun. Then, repeats the question about 'she' & shoots himself! Somewhere there is a monstrous witch compelling people to commit murder. In a race against time, Bay calls in Scout & Gunner from the Spell's Angels biker gang for help. With the wedding fast approaching but Clove's baby more than a week overdue, Bay has her plate full & it's not wedding cake. Plus there's a big twist about Clove & Sam's baby's reluctance to be born. These long awaited events are so wonderfully wrapped up & we know there's still more Winchester snarkiness & weirdness to come.
The big day is finally here for Bay and Landon, so of course there are tons of witchy problems. I enjoyed a lot of the tried and true snark shot around by the Winchester family, and the schmaltz poured out between Landon and Bay as you might expect leading up to their wedding. What I didn’t appreciate as much in this installment was that a lot of the characters that helped with this witchy problem came from Amanda M. Lee’s other series’. Bay was joined by both the Scout and Gunner of her Spells Angels series, Stormy and Hunter of the Two Broomsticks Gas & Grill series and the next book seems like it will bring in characters from the Moonstone Bay series. I’m all for crossovers and hyping up your own work, but this was a a bit too much for me. And it took away from the family dynamics that I love with the Winchesters. Instead of using their mom’s they brought in these other powers to help solve the problems.
Magic: 3.5/5
Bay is the power in Hemlock Cove and that seems to be under challenge in the days leading up to her wedding. What a great time to test her strength and determination. The magic unleashed is nothing really new but still cool. The new magical powers seen come more from working with the Spell’s Angels and Stormy.
Overall: 3/5
It was definitely cozy to finally get to Bay and Landon’s big day. It certainly matched all witchy and smaltzy expectations.
Once again there is dark magic in the Midwest, shadows, mind control, guns, dark witches; Amanda m Lee brought Stormy, Hunter, Scout, Gunner, Evan and the spells angels from her other series’s to aid in getting rid of the magical shards in hollow creek. Finally Clove is ready to have her baby, and Bay and Landon tie the knot. Whilst this book can be read as a stand-alone it would definitely be better to start at the beginning, and follow the characters as they become alive, where you want to follow them and their lives as they try to right the world one monster at a time! All the books are available on kindle unlimited, it would be worth having a free trial just to read Amanda Lee’s books. If you like magic, a bit of romance mixed with some sarcastic comments (and an elderly aunt tillie and her inappropriate leggings, with her pet pig Peg riding a scooter dressed in a tutu) , then these books are definitely worth reading!
Bay's wedding day is almost here, just two things stand in the way of it being the perfect day. One, Clove' baby is a week overdue and she is showing no signs of being born anytime soon. Two, there's a mysterious "she* in town causing dangerous, deadly situations. With nothing to be done about Globe's baby Bay with Landon and help from Scout and Gunner ( from the Spells Angels series) concentrate on getting to the bottom of just who is behind the latest magical goings on in Hemlock Cove. There's so much humour in this book, the back and forth between the cousins is the best it's ever been and Aunt Tillie outside herself in this story. All the " I love you's* between Bay and Landon get a bit tiring but the rest of the book more than makes up for it.
I don't know about Bay, but I'm absolutely exhausted! Fans of this series already knew that Bay's and Landon's wedding couldn't possibly be uneventful, but this is next-level! An old problem has grown out of control, a ruthless assassin has been set loose, Clove is even more obnoxiously Clove (didn't think that was possible), and the baby refuses to come. Thank goodness Bay is really owning her power; she needs it! The core characters (with one notable exception) are such fun, the magic is imaginative and thoughtfully placed, and the mystery is complex enough to require assistance from two crossover series. And I must say, this is the most insightful (and therefore the most threatening) villain that the Winchesters have squared off against; that assessment of them is pretty spot on, and a three-pronged attack is pure genius!
Well, Bay and Landon are finally going to get married. Now if only they make it to the wedding. Something is shady in the town and Bay gets involved almost immediately trying to solve the mystery. And Clove is about to deliver the baby, which adds all sorts of trouble for everyone concerned. Bay and Landon, with the help of Scout and Gunner, work as fast as they can to resolve the problems they encounter. Amanda M Lee has written an exceedingly fun book filled with our favorite characters, doing what you’d expect them to do, and making it fun to read. There is plenty of snark along with plenty of action and some sweet passages. Definitely a book to read and enjoy again and again.
Tillie says she’s right so often it is hard to tell if she knows what she is talking about, but Bay has strongly come into her own as a powerful witch. Brave in all ways, she comes to the rescue of students and staff when a teen brings a gun to school. Add to the fact Bay and Landon are getting married this week, Clove hasn’t given birth, and the magic shard at Hollow Creek are taking on a life of their own, the action never stops. The best part of Amanda M. Lee’s series are the fact characters now share their world and come into the stories without separate crossovers. I love it! Keeps me going as wait for each new installment of other series.
It seems that fate is set out to derail the wedding at the start of the book. A potential school shooting that Bay foils is the start. The issues, including Cloe not having her baby on time, an incredibly annoying midwife, and a new store owner trying to take Hynotique's business from Thistle and Clove are just the start. The magic shards at Hollow Creek also need a solution before it is too late. Scout, Gunner and the Spells Angels help as well as Storm.
Lots of action, smarmy dialog, and the ever present snark make for a fun read.
This book has me hooked. There was so much going on in it. It's the lead up to Bay and Landon's wedding. Clove still hasn't given birth and Landon is worried that Bay will have to share the limelight if Clove doesn't give birth before the wedding. He wants the wedding to be all about Bay. A teacher kills himself after saying 'she' told him to and then a man kills his wife. why are these killings happening and will Bay be able to solve it before her wedding? The nexus with the floating shards of magic is getting to be a real problem. Scout and Gunner come to help Bay to deal with this. Scout and Gunner star majorly in this book.
I'm sorry to give this book only 2 stars, but if feels almost like a fanfiction or a ghost writer's work. The plot was so primitive I couldn't continue turning a blind eye to it (and I tried, I really did!) There also were almost no witty retorts between family members and that's what I love the most in these books.
Most dialogs were excruciatingly flat: - We need to figure this out. - Yes we do. - Otherwise big bad thing will happen. - So we need to figure this out (now start repeating from the beginning⬆️).
The finale was predictable as hell too. Honestly, there was only one little surprise at the end, and that's all.
I knew that Minerva was bad at the beginning and I was begging that Aunt Tillie would get her way and torment her to no end. And something rubbed me wrong about Kristen.
When will Mrs.. Little learn? Arghhh she aggravates me to no end.
And the name that Clove went with for her and Sam's little boy gave my heart a hitch.
I could not stop crying the last two chapters!! So happy that Landon stood up and managed to give Bay what she was wanting but too afraid to ask so she wouldn't hurt feelings.
Such a great ending and cannot wait to see what adventure next awaits Bay, Thistle, and Clove!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Well, we all have waited for the Wedding of two of the love birds. Plus it couldn't just happen without some snarky witch problems trying interfere. Then Clove is wanting her baby just come out! Of course the thing about all the witches at the Inn and now more witches, shifters, vampires. Well, what a life this little one is coming into. What powers will she? Have? That will take this story to another level indeed! This story can't end! There's still a cousin to wed? Well anyone who is a fan, would most definitely want to read the adventure of a Big Fat Witch WEDDING.
The wedding of Bay and Landon is finally here, but it doesn't come easily. Mrs. Little has brought another witch to town to take on the Winchesters both magically and business wise. Trouble starts with a high school shooting, and things continue deteriorate. Clove still has not had her baby, Aunt Tillie is unhappy with the midwife who is bossing everyone around, and Landon wants Bay to have her perfect wedding. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning to fully understand the characters and events in this novel.
And oh the surprises in this book. Landon ie one of my all-time favorite characters. I love each character in this series. It's weird, but they feel like family at this point. Bay is a complete superhero I'm this book. Scout is a joy as always. I can't wait for the honey moon crossover at Moonstone Bay. Highly recommend the book.
Possible spoiler
We finally get a baby! That shouldn't be a spoiler as author announced it was happening, but just on case.
Dark magic is attacking Bay and the people she loves. This book brings together various people from other books by Amanda Lee to fight an unknown evil. Clove and Sam's baby finally arrives in complete chaos but as always there is a happy ending with a wedding ceremony that brings a rear to the eye . I really enjoy this whole series and hope the author can keep them going for a very long time. Another Excellent read.
The Winchester witches never disappoint if your in the more for magical mayhem and the kind if snark only family can provide. Is finally time for Bay and Landon's wedding but Clove may steal the thunder since she's past due delivering the next Winchester witch. Landon is determined that Bay will have her day in the spotlight but there's a magical threat that requires the family to call for reinforcements.
Having seen these two through their magical meeting, their eventful courtship, it was a beautiful wedding, and well worth the wait. Ms. Lee has done an amazing job of having each character grow and mature. Creating a balance between an alpha motal man and a strong magical woman has been done beautifully. I can't wait to see what happens as they all learn to adjust to a boy in the family.
My Big Fat Witch Wedding (Wicked Witches of the Midwest book 19
This was another winner. My favorite series. I loved every book this Author has written. I highly recommend all her books and different series. She has a great imagination and she has wonderful characters in every series. I like when she has other characters from each series visit the other books and they all become friends. Diana Romano
This latest book is such an action packed book from beginning to end. The preparations for Bae's Wedding are having to compete with an evil shadow man, a new witch in town and Clove's overdue Baby. She has Paranormal friends help her from a town more than an hour away. And of course Aunt Tillie is always up to some craziness. You have to read this one if you have read any of the others!!!
As usual I've laughed cried and loved dynamics between the characters added bonus Scout and Gunner and then Stormy and Hunter had a brief visit I realised early on who had guys where and cheered when Scout cooked her to dust I listen to my books on my kindle via read and speak option in work get few funny looks when I lol etc I looking forward to Bay and Landon s honeymoon on Moonstone bay ....
I've been reading this series from the beginning, and it seems to get better and better! I love the characters, ALL OF THEM! Each one, in my mindseye, become real as I read along. I cry with them, laugh with them and even get angry when they do! This time I cried during the wedding ceremony, too! Can't wait to read about their honeymoon on Moonstone Island! Alot will be happening on that Island and I can't wait!
