If you enjoy erotic stories about women loving women, get your hands on this collection of sensual short stories from nine of the most prominent names in lesbian fiction: Jae, Lee Winter, Harper Bliss, Alison Grey, Emma Weimann, AL Brooks, KD Williamson, Jess Lea. Contains mature themes.
Astrid Ohletz has an education as a library assistant but worked as a legal secretary for one of the partners of a large, international law firm for more than ten years before she became a publisher, establishing Ylva Verlag and its international pendant, Ylva Publishing, in 2011 and 2012. Publishing combines her love of books with her understanding of legal and economic issues. Being able to publish books where subtext is maintext is a dream come true for Astrid.
In her free time, she writes stories under the pseudonym Emma Weimann.
3.50 Stars. This is a good collection of erotic short stories, but they were not as steamy as I was hoping for. It is a very good quality collection, there was only one short that I didn’t really care for, but I found myself saying words like, “good” and “cute” to describe some of the stories. There are some stories with some heat, I don’t mean to say it’s completely lacking, it just wasn’t as sizzling as I wished.
I’m not going to mention all the shorts, but I will mention a few that stuck out.
Flashbang by Lee Winter: This short I have already read before but I enjoyed it enough to read it again. If you have read The Red Files, this short is a must. It takes place after the first book but before the second. I do have to say I was bummed to not have something new from Winter, but only because I dying to read another Winter book.
Help Yourself by Emma Weimann: This short I really enjoyed. It had this little mix of humor but also sexiness. I have not read Weimann’s one and only book but I really need to since I like how she writes.
Erasing the Lines by K.D. Williamson: This is a short that is part of Williamson’s Cops and Doc’s series. I already had it on my kindle but had not had a chance to read it yet, so it was new for me. It was pretty steamy especially considering the two mains were apart at the time.
Houseshare by A.L. Brooks: This short started out almost like a cheesy porno. A woman takes a room for rent in the house of a couple of gorgeous lesbians. And while this F-F-F storyline was pretty cheesy, it was one of the steamier stories in the whole collection so no real complaints from me.
Worth the Wait by Jae: Saving the best short for last is this feel good and sexy short by Jae. This short story stars Jill and Crash from Jae’s book Just Physical. Jill and Crash are actually on my list of all-time favorite lesfic couples so this was a really treat to spend more time with them. If you have not read Just Physical yet, I absolutely recommend it, although this short is plenty enjoyable on its own.
Anthologies can be so varied and it’s not often that I love all the stories in them. This anthology is an exception to that. Every story in here has an easy rating from four to five stars with most of them being superb. They’re all very different from each other in plot but what they have in common is fantastic eroticism by very good short story writers.
Flashbang by Lee Winter I read this short story before I read The Red Files and it didn’t work for me as well then as it did now on a re-read. I adore the characters of Catherine and Lauren and now that I’ve read both The Red Files and Under Your Skin this short story makes so much more sense. Lauren is attending her last society event before she takes on her serious news job. She hasn’t seen Catherine for two weeks and she’s missing her. It’s romantic and very sexy.
A Different View by Jess Lea This is another story I’ve read before in Jess Lea’s The Taste of Her (Volume Two). National team basketball player, Steph, has to get herself into a pale blue, ruffled and beaded dress for a photo shoot in a women’s magazine. Uncomfortable as she is, she then is confronted with the angry, bitchy photographer engaged for the shoot. This is a lovely exploration of being comfortable in your own body and who you are.
Executive by AL Brooks At the office Christmas party Jamie’s eyes are drawn to Emily when she arrives. Emily is off limits and out of her league because Jamie never gets involved with anybody in the workplace. She is also the CEO’s personal assistant while Jamie is a high school drop-out and manager of the mail room. It doesn’t stop butch Jamie from looking at the gorgeous ultra-femme. Steamy workplace liaison.
58 Seconds by Harper Bliss Such a simple concept and so beautifully executed. They see each other every morning on opposite escalators, one going up and one going down. The setting is precisely laid out and the build-up is excellent.
Help Yourself by Emma Weimann Emily’s dreadful new boss at work is giving her sleepless nights while her girlfriend is fast asleep next to her. Frustrated by her wakefulness, she decides to do something about it for herself. This one is really hot and sexy and made even better by an existing emotional connection.
Erasing the Lines by KD Williamson This is another one that I’ve read before and it’s a short story following the novels Blurred Lines and Crossing Lines. Nora has been away for a week and Kelli is missing her desperately. Only two days to go and Kelli is on a stake out (with Travis) when Nora calls. It’s clever and erotic.
Houseshare by AL Brooks In looking for a place to stay, Kat sees an advert for a room to let in an area that is a really nice area but the rent they’re asking is surprisingly low. She calls for an appointment even though it seems too good to be true. When she arrives she discovers that the owner is one of the gorgeous women she has a crush on and sees regularly around the club scene. This is superbly written erotica and quite different from her earlier story in this anthology.
It’s Getting Hot in Here by Alison Grey This short story is a spin-off from “Hot Line”, Grey’s 2012 novella. Linda is preparing to take her first call as a phone-sex call operator and is a little nervous when the phone rings. I enjoyed the difference in format as well as the humour injected into the story.
Stress Management by Lola Keely Regan is stressed and has just wrapped her car around a lamppost. Her girlfriend, Asha, doesn’t believe her promise to take some time out to relax and go to spa. She comes up with a better plan to help Regan lose control. Lovely sensuous story with some power exchange.
Something Salty, Something Sweet by Emma Weimann Beautiful and sensual, but also very romantic. Vera is waiting in the hot tub while her girlfriend, Maddy, is preparing a light dinner for them and an evening of pampering.
Worth the Wait by Jae This story features the characters from “Just Physical” which is the one book in the series that I haven’t read (I will get onto that asap). Jill has MS and knows that she needs to take advantage of the times that she’s feeling good. Crash isn’t about to deter her. Insanely hot, and made even more so by them being in a committed relationship.
Book received from Ylva Publishing for an honest review.
Laid Bare: A Collection of lesbian Erotic Stories is a bit on the thin side for an anthology but as promotional freebies go, I’m not going to complain.
Like the nature of anthologies, some stories you will like more than others. There is a bit for everyone, some role-play, some phone sex, some strap-on action etc. If it makes you curious to the author’s back catalog, this anthology has done it’s job.
f/f explicit
Themes: erotic shorts to promote some of the Ylva authors.

Very enjoyable adiobook experience by way of narrator Rebecca Estrella. Her voice is very suited for erotica.
Leave it up to me to finish reading a book the day before it becomes available for free. I'm not generally a big fan of anthologies but this one scored above average with stories by some very talented writers. Since there are quite a few well written and far more detailed reviews out there I'll only mention the ones that really stood out to me.
58 Seconds by Harper Bliss *** Though this wasn't my favorite story, it had a nice little plot twist at the end. Even if you can see it coming from a mile away.
Help Yourself by Emma Weimann ***** If you think a story can't be scorching hot and still be very sweet at the same time, you need to read this.
Houseshare by A.L. Brooks ***** This could have turned out to be very cringeworthy. Instead I found myself nearly swallowing my tongue by how hot this was.
It’s Getting Hot in Here by Alison Grey **** The sequel to Hot Line and every bit as deliciously smutty.
Worth the Wait by Jae ***** Crash and Jill are back! I've loved these two ever since reading Just Physical and now we get another tiny and very steamy glimpse into their lives.
The thing about anthologies is more often than not the stories within can be hit and miss. Much to my delight, Laid Bare is a hit. Or more precisely, a smorgasbord of deliciousness.
The stories are told from various point-of-views and tenses; first person, third person, present tense, past tense. For some reason a number of these story involve self-love, for want of a better word, so if you enjoy reading about ladies pleasuring themselves, you're in for a treat. Personally, it's something I can take or leave.
I'm not going to rehash every story but will suffice to say, my favourite story was Houseshare by AL Brooks, followed closely by 58 seconds by Harper Bliss.

This is a collection of eleven short erotic lesbian stories edited by Astrid Ohletz & Jae for Ylva Publishing. Some of these works have been published previously as stand-alone. Normally the quality of the stories in these compilations is mixed but I'm happy to say that in this case all of them are really good.
'Flashbang' is a short sequel of Lee Winter's excellent book 'The red files' and it explores reporters Lauren and Catherine's new relationship. Steamy and well-written. 5 stars.
'A different view' by Jess Lea is a long-ish, interracial, age-gap story between a sportswoman and a photographer involving self-gratification. 3.5 stars.
'Executive dining' by A.L. Brooks is an office erotic story between a butch and a top femme. Great at turning the tables (pun intended). 4 stars.
'58 Seconds' by Harper Bliss is an encounter between two commuters in the London underground with a twist at the end. Sizzling hot as it's the norm with Ms. Bliss's erotica. 5 stars.
'Help yourself' by Emma Weimann is a story of self-gratification as a way of reducing work stress. 4.5 stars.
'Erasing the lines' by KD Williamson is a short erotic sequel of'Blurred lines' from the author's Cops and Docs series. How can a newly established couple put up with geographical distance? Maybe phone sex is the answer. 4.5 stars.
'Houseshare' by A.L. Brooks is a polyamorous erotica story of a woman searching for a new home in which she finds more than a room with a couple of landladies. 5 stars.
'It's getting hot in here' by Alison Grey is a sequel to the author's novella 'Hot line' that involves hot phone sex. 4.5 stars.
'Stress management' by Lola Keeley is a tale of light submission and self-gratification while the main character learns to let go of her stress. 4.5 stars.
'Something salty, something sweet' by Emma Weimann is a story about the sensuality of both food and sex. 4.5 stars.
'Worth the wait' is a sequel to Jae's 'Just physical' featuring a lead character who suffers multiple sclerosis. Original and hot. 5 stars.
Overall, a very good collection of lesbian erotica stories, not to be missed if you enjoy the genre. 4.5 stars.
ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
4 Stars for this collection of romantic, sexy stories. Some of the stories are new and others were previously published as standalones or included in other anthologies. Overall this collection is not as erotic as I expected but all are well written. It turns out the stories I've read before were among my favorites. Available on Kindle Unlimited.
Favorites: Flashbang by Lee Winter This is takes place after The Red Files. Previously a free standalone, but still a favorite. Love this couple. Lauren is covering her last Hollywood social event before she joins Catherine in DC, who relocated there 2 weeks earlier. Lauren is missing Catherine, but she is in for a surprise. (Re-read)
Erasing the Lines by KD WIlliamson. From her Cops & Docs Series. Kelli is on stakeout with Travis and is missing Nora terribly, who has been at a medical conference. And then Nora calls. Hot. (Re-read)
58 Seconds by Harper Bliss 2 commuters pass each other everyday. One is going up one side of the escalator, the other down.
Worth the Wait by Jae A new story revisiting Crash & Jill from "Just Physical". Crash is a stunt double and Jill is an actress who is dealing with MS. Jill is feeling good. Her MS is under control and she has good news, she just landed a lead role on a TV series. They celebrate.
The others include an office liaison, A photographer and her athlete model, a woman searching for a room to rent, a sequel to Alison Grey's Hot Line, and more.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this available on KU. It did not disappoint! I enjoyed all of them but my favorites are Houseshare, Executive Dining, Stress Management, Flash Bang, A Different View....hahahaha. I will stop there. If you have KU and like erotica - read this right now! If you just like erotica and don't have KU, go and get it.
I’m not a big fan of short stories, I love it when I can immerse myself in a book, but now and then it is just right. Like now.
Laid Bare contains eleven short erotic stories from different authors. Some of the stories are new ones, some are previously published.
5 stars / In Flashbang by Lee Winter you will catch Catherine and Lauren from The Red Files in a sexy and romantic interlude during the last social event for Lauren before she’s moving out of town.
3.5 stars / Steph the basketball player has a hard time during a photo shoot in A Different View by Jess Lea. The photographer is as unhappy as she is with the setting. After some bitching, they found a way to do better. Sometimes it can be arousing when you see yourself through the eyes of another woman.
4.5 stars / Executive Dining by A.L. Brooks is set at an office Christmas party with butch Jamie, working in the mail room, and gorgeous femme Emily, the CEO’s assistant. Delicious and steamy dinner.
4.5 stars / Two women see each other every day on a London underground escalator in 58 Seconds by Harper Bliss. At the end with a little surprising twist an erotic encounter.
5 stars / Another sleepless night for Emily, she’s stressed and can’t stop her brain from turning in Help Yourself by Emma Weinmann. Her girlfriend is sleeping beside her and is no help. So she has to do something by herself, but what a surprise when your girlfriend catches you? Hot and sizzling.
4 stars / From her Docs and Cops series we meet Nora and Kelli again. Erasing the Lines by KD Williams is about a new couple, who can’t take their hands off each other. But what can you do when you’re geographical apart? Especially when Kelli is working and she is sitting in a car with her partner. She had a hard and arousing time when her girlfriend calls her.
5 stars / Kat is looking for a new place to stay in Houseshare by A.L. Brooks. The advert for a room in a house which catches her eyes is nearly too good to be true. There has to be a catch. And there is a catch, but a very erotic, sexy and steamy one.
4.5 stars / From the author of «Hot Line» is the sequel It’s getting Hot in Here by Alison Grey. Linda is working her first shift for the phone-sex hotline, and she gets a hot surprise.
4.5 stars / Asha has a very personal and erotic way of Stress Management (by Lola Keeley) for her stressed girlfriend, who has to come down from the latest adrenalin thrust after crashing her car on a lamppost.
4.5 stars / Something Salty, Something Sweet by Emma Weinmann is a romantic, sensual and erotic short story about aphrodisiac food and spoiling your girlfriend.
5 stars / It is really Worth the Wait (by Jae). This one I loved the most. We meet again Jill and Crash from Jae’s Just Physical. Sometimes Jill’s illness MS dictates her life, but not tonight. She takes advantage of her physical strength and her hot girlfriend. Sexy, steamy and delicious.
Recommended for erotic short lovers. Overall rating 4.5 stars Many thanks to Ylva Publishing for receiving an ARC for an honest review.
This collection of short erotic stories from Ylva Publishing was fabulous!
There is a story in here for everyone, from the cute and flirty, to the intense, and each story delivered something different and exciting. A few stories I was familiar with from one of shorts, or other collections but reading them again found a new love for them.
Those that were new, were exciting, and kept me eager to read on. I loved each and every story in its own way.
A fantastic line up of Ylva authors have contributed, all bringing their own unique take on erotica to deliver a collection well worth having. I can’t recommend this collection enough, and if erotica is your thing you will love this. If you’re not so sure, why not pick it up and give it a go, these stories really do give variety, and there might just be that one little gem to pique your interest.
This anthology covers a fairly wide range of erotica, including very light BDSM, throuple, masturbation, phone sex, public sex, and more. I really like how we get drastically different stories in one book.
The eleven shorts by nine authors are listed here. "Flashbang" by Lee Winters is a public sex scene featuring Lauren and Catherine from The Red Files. "A Different View" by Jess Lea is a short of Steph masturbating to photos of herself. "Executive Dining" by A.L. Brooks is an office sex story with the usually dominant butch Jamie as Emily's sub. "58 Seconds" by Harper Bliss has Janet live out her core fantasy with Sharon. "Help Yourself" by Emma Weimann is a story where Hannah joins Emily in the latter's sex fantasy in the middle of the night. "Erasing the Lines" by KD Williamson is a phone sex short featuring Kelli and Nora from Blurred Lines. "Houseshare" by A.L. Brooks is about Kat's apartment hunt turning into a throuple relationship with her crush Claire and Claire's partner Ronnie. "It's getting hot in here" by Alison Grey is a short with Linda and Christina from Hot Line playing the roles of phone sex operators. "Stress Management" by Lola Keeley is a story of Asha watching and commanding Regan masturbate. "Something Salty, Something Sweet" by Emma Weimann is an age-gap erotica of Vera and Maddy with yummy dishes. "Worth the Wait" by Jae features Jill and Crash from Just Physical with strap-on sex.
Fabulous read This collection of 11 erotic short stories is a great sampler if you're new to the featured authors or to the publisher; there is humor in some of the stories along with emotional intimacy and some social commentary but the primary focus is on how the characters connect in a moment and when they do it's hot, evocative and sensual to say the least. I recognized 3 of the stories as being previously published as stand alone pieces or part of an author's (Jess Lea's) collection and one of the remaining 8 featured characters from the author Jae's Hollywood series of books, but collectively I enjoyed them all immensely regardless of whether it was for the first or second time around. I'd suggest reading them one at a time rather than trying to read cover to cover in a sitting or two, in order to fully appreciate each story's trajectory and content, each author's skill at pulling the reader in. The sexual content I'd rank low on the kink scale, a few notches up from vanilla and far from hard core, so if that's your preferred heat level in erotica this one's worth checking out. The types of encounters in this collection vary and include phone sex, butch/femme, toys, and take place in the workplace, at home and elsewhere with women who are not all twenty-somethings with perfect bodies; there's plenty of variety to warm your bits and tickle your fancy. I received an advance reading copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
These were great, short, erotica tales by many different, wonderful, talented authors. I will write about my favourite ones:
A Different View by Jess Lea: A story that followed a star athlete partaking in a photoshoot for a magazine with a snippy, moody photographer. That moody photographer, however, brought out the best in the reluctant athlete.
Erasing the Lines by KD Williamson: A story following Kelli and Nora from Blurred Lines. I have not read Blurred Lines, yet, but I can safely say that I have finally purchased it and it is now sitting, waiting to be read. Wowza! I really enjoyed this and not just for the fact that it was sizzling hot, but I also loved the relationship between Kelli and her work partner. Their banter back and forth had me laughing.
Executive Dining by A.L. Brooks: I thought this story was going to be the typical butch tops the femme, until the femme flipped the script and had the hot butch begging.
Worth the Wait by Jae. Crash... *stares blankly, rapidly blinking*… So, now I gotta read Just Physical where Crash met Jill. OH. MY. YUM. That's all.
It appears that my favourite tales all featured a butch woman. It's not a secret that I love my handsome women. And hey, if you're not into butch/femme, there's plenty of beautiful feminine femme/femme, too!
These are some super hot and beautifully written stories. They had me melting on the inside. Great collection of authors. I couldn’t pick a favorite but I will definitely be listening to this audiobook again.
A FANTASTIC ANTHOLOGY!! This amazing and super sexy book contains lovely short stories by nine of Ylva’s best authors. Jae, Lee Winter, Harper Bliss, Lola Keeley, Alison Grey, Emma Weimann, AL Brooks, KD Williamson, Jess Lea are all featured here. I loved everything about this volume. The stories were hot, of course, and really well written. There was not a bad or boring one in the bunch and I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite! This not safe for public reading tome is perfect. If you know these authors, you already know how good it will be and if any of them are new to you, this is a perfect introduction. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough as it has my all-time go to tales!
In my original review, I had some amazing content warnings jotted down. I remember one of these had stalking, so that short story was an immediate DNF.
The one by Jae and the one by Lee Winter were really the only two good ones out of this collection, I thought.
I really enjoyed this collection of sapphic erotic short stories and it was really great to get a taster of some well-loved sapphic authors' works that I haven't had the chance to read yet, but I will definitely be checking out after this! My favourite of the stories were Houseshare, Worth the Wait, and Erasing the Lines!
Flashbang - Lee Winter 4/5 A Different View - Jess Lea 3/5 Executive Dining - A. L. Brooks 4.5/5 58 Seconds - Harper Bliss 3/5 Help Yourself - 3.5/5 Erasing the Lines - K.D. Williamson 2.5/5 Houseshare - A.L. Brooks 4.5/5 It's Getting Hot in Here - Alison Grey 3/5 Stress Management - 3/5 Something salty. Something sweet - Emma Weimann 3/5 Worth the wait - Jae 3.5/5
Ylva has an excellent track record when it comes to anthologies and this latest offering does not disappoint. While every story has a lot to recommend it, I'm going to focus on the two that really caught my attention.
First up, in both the anthology and my pecking order, Lee Winter's "Flashbang". Strictly speaking this story is book 1.5 in the "On The Record" series but I think it works really well as a standalone as well and it definitely fits the bill of an erotic short. Set in the madcap world of the LA party scene where Lauren King is on her last assignment as an entertainment reporter before heading off to D.C. to write real stories. The only problem is that there's been a Catherine Ayers shaped hole in her life for the past fortnight. Luckily for Lauren (and for us), The Caustic Queen arrives: "There stood Catherine Ayers . Elegant, aloof, glorious. Lauren tried not to swallow her tongue, but hell, she was only human." At this point I should confess that I have quite a crush on Catherine Ayers; she's very fabulous, witty, charming when she wants to be and seeing her utterly besotted with Lauren is quite adorable. Just, don't call her adorable to her face!
The second story I've chosen to write about is one that didn't really stand out when I first read it in Jess Lea's solo anthology The Taste of Her but it has grown on me over time and I enjoyed it far more with another reading. Appropriately enough Lea's story is called "A Different View". One of the aspects I admire most about her writing is its precision, every word feels like it has been carefully selected for maximum impact and anything superfluous removed. The result is a striking, almost visual story. From Steph the athlete clomping around the litter strewn carpark in the awful designer dress, Rin the photographer scaring everyone else out of their wits with her demands and the kids at bus stop shouting 'helpful' suggestions!
There is also great skill in creating a short story with two very different scenes with wildly different pacing - the transformation coming along with Steph getting to change back into her gym gear. This also brings with it a change in the dynamic between Rin and Steph and if you like erotic fiction I can't think of any one who does it better than Jess Lea.
My comments are for the recently released audiobook. I was interested in having a listen as some of my fave authors contributed to and/or edited it. I found most of them appealed to me and a few of them were really smokin' hot. My favorites were those by Lee Winter, Emma Weimann (who contributed two and I loved them both) KD Williamson, Lola Keeley and Harper Bliss - who I have decided is the undisputed queen of writing hot sex. And she's just a damn good writer in general. I won't describe each story in detail as others have done that already. The narrator did a good job - especially when she acted out some of the more arousing moments. Once or twice I wished she had another lower register in her voice she could go to when the character was described as having one. I have come to realize that those appeal to me most - and I'm sure that's just a personal preference. I liked a few of the stories enough that I now want to buy books by those authors whose work I was unfamiliar with (namely Williamson, Weimann and Keeley.) Overall I'd give it 4.5 stars. Definitely worth a listen, if sensual stories are your thing.
An ARC copy was given to me by YLVA for a honest review.
This is a collection of stories. There are many characters, that I know from previous books and I liked the continuation of the stories, because sometimes I asked myself, what the characters do, after the book ends.
Every story from the collection was a hot one for me. Sometimes the are funny stories or romantic one. I couldn´t put the book away till I have read it to the end
Hot, very hot! These 11 writers turned out 11 very sexy stories and each different. It truely is a hot read ...Can be recommended for a “good night” read..definitely very enjoyable.
Hot. Damn. Ylva publishing did not pull any punches with this anthology. If you want a book that is both spicy and stream, then look no further.
I swear, I needed a minute after most of these short stories. I started listening to this during work, and I’m glad I was working in a 35° cooler, because hot damn. (Yes, it bares repeating.)
Since there are a dozen different short stories, I do not want to rate them all, however, I will highlight the major tropes, kinks, and such.
Genre(s): contemporary anthology, erotica/erotic romance, Kinks: Public sex, Wall sex, Fully clothed sex, Sexting, Autoeroticism, Topping the top, Sex in the executive's office, Switching roles, Femmedomme, Butch bottom, Praise kink, Strap-on play, Fantasy sex, Masturbation, FFF/Threesome/unicorn, Femme-femme, Voyeurism, Semi-public sex/masturbation, Guided masturbation, D/s dynamics, Ice play, shower sex. Tropes: Client/customer, Co-workers, Butch-Femme, Established couple, Bisexual MC, Poly, Long distance, MS(multiple sclerosis) rep.
Overall a 4 ⅕ because there were one or two stories where the plot/spicy scenes were meh. However, it did not ruin the anthology by any means.
So, a Collection of erotic lesbian stories. What could possible go wrong. Well, not much obviously.
I liked these very much. Everyone some kind of tension that build up and culminates in the protagonists releasing each other of it.
I love the different settings from a party, to a conference room to some weird kind of stalking but then again not really. Well, you have to read it to understand ;)
Well, I‘ll have to give only four stars, because two of the stories have been. How do I say it best? Well, a newspaper article about the mating habits of a Blade of grass during north East Wind would probably have been more exciting than these two. You‘ll find out which they are as soon as you read the book ;)
