While heading back to the clubhouse one night Shovel, the Diamondback's Prez, finds Persephone aimlessly walking the dark road in ripped clothes that are covered in blood. Making a split second decision they both take a chance and trust each other. Shovel takes Persephone back to the clubhouse to tend to her wounds, finding a gunshot wound to her chest and that she lost a lot of blood. Persephone puts her trust into a complete stranger after having her world once again completely shattered. Shovel's protective instincts take over and he knows under the vulnerable, hurt Persephone lies his wild perfect woman. So he sets out to take care of her and show her that she can trust him and his club to have her back. Persephone grows stronger as she heals and learns that family is who you choose. As she finds her place as the Prez' old lady, she learns to be embrace her wild. Love Shovel and Persephone - they were perfect for each other. Cannot wait for Ruger's story!!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Persephone had her life crumble around her eighteen months ago when both her parents were murdered in a carjacking, so when she met Kyle and he supported her she thought that she was going to be ok. She could not have been more wrong about the man she thought loved her. Things didn’t seem right and Persephone needed to find out exactly what was going on, which is how she found herself beaten and shot stumbling along side a deserted road. Meeting Shovel was the last thing she was expecting, when he pulled up beside her and took her back to his clubhouse she’s about to discover a whole new world, one she had never considered. This man is everything she could ever want but will she bring him more trouble than she’s worth or had she found her place in the world finally?
Shovel is the President of Diamondbacks MC, he was on his way back to his clubhouse the night he finds Persephone stumbling along the road in the middle of the road. Really enjoyed this book Shovel takes family seriously and recognises his other half straight away, Persephone is a fierce woman who is stronger than she knows. Great quick read and I cannot wait to read Ruger’s story and Doc’s too I can smell the drama about to unfold. Recommended 4.2* read.

Shovel, Prez. Of the Diamondback MC is heading back to the compound when he sees a woman walking along side of the road. He’s notices she’s bleeding and barely standing straight. His protective instinct kicks in and he takes her home with him. Persephone has had a rough time of it since her parents died. Now she finds herself shot, and barely able to walk. There’s a hot chemistry between Shovel/ Cain and Persephone. She’s all sass and independence and he’s the protective alpha who’s going to take care of her forever. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Shovel/Cain mets Persephone when he's riding back to the clubhouse. As Shovel approaches her he sees she's bleeding, she's badly banged up, a ripped dress and has bruises on her. Shovel approaches her not wanting to scare her, he asks her what kind of trouble she's in, and she tells him more than he'll want to take on. When he offers her a ride back to the clubhouse for doc to fix her up, she tells him she doesn't want to bring him any trouble. When Persephone wakes up she can hear several men talking, she tells them no one will be looking for her. She tries to get up she tells them she doesn't want to bring this much trouble to them. Shovel tells her that's for them to decide. Doc pulled a slug out of her chest, stitched her up, she has bruises all over her body. Shovel tells her to get some rest her body needs to heal. Shovel tells his brothers' that he's claiming Persephone and he doesn't want any mouth back from them. They all get to work looking into Persephone, her name is a common one so she's easy to find. Shovel is the MC president and asks that all his brothers bring their ol' lady to the clubhouse to be safe. When Persephone wakes Shovel is watching over her, she needs to get up. She tells him once she's better she'll leave his clubhouse, but he tells her not to worry about that right now. After Shovel gets her settled back in bed he heads out and has Raven Dirty watch over Persephone. Shovel finds out that she's the daughter of a late Judge, her parents passed in a carjacking. Persephone lives with her boyfriend Kyle and is a paralegal, and there isn't a missing person's report filed. When Persephone wakes she finds Raven sitting where Shovel was, they talk until he comes back. When Shovel comes back to his room he tells her they need to talk, he tells her they don't have much and he wants her to fill in the missing information they need. Persephone tells him if she can get out of the room she'll fill him in. They head to Shovel's office, where Razor comes after Shovel asks him to. Persephone fills them in on her boyfriend and how they moved in together, then he never was home. So Persephone did some snooping of her own, she found some files with her name and parents names on them but then Kyle her ex-boyfriend came home and found her. She read the files over and over, it was about her trust fund, marriage was one alone with if something happened to her her trust fund went to Kyle. Shovel sends Razor to get Ruger working on the information she gave. Shovel tells Persephone to come sit with him, he tells her they'll get this straightened out and kisses the top of her head. Persephone tells Shovel there's so much more she needs to tell him, but now she's crying and needs a moment. Shovel tells her she can tell him more after he gets her something to eat. They head back to his bedroom, after she eats he tells her to rest. Shovel tells Persephone that when they are alone she should call him Cain. After Persephone falls back to sleep Shovel leaves to talk to Raven and asks her if she wants to go shopping to get some clothes. Then Shovel heads to Ruger's office to finds out if he found Kyle, Persephone ex. When Shovel finds out he knows where Kyle is he tells him they'll be riding out tomorrow. Shovel heads back to his bedroom where he slides into bed with Persephone. Shovel tells her if he pleasures her they'll be no more talk about her leaving, she's his. Shovel pleasures her, but he tells her she needs to keep still or he'll stop. The next morning Shovel wakes and needs to leave but Persephone is using him as her own pillow, she tells him she needs to get out of this room, but needs some clothes. Shovel tells her that Raven picked her up a few things, they both go and get into the shower so that he can help her. After Shovel leaves Persephone goes to find Raven and they sit and have coffee, as Rave helps her lean how to be an ol' lady. Shovel and a few of his brothers' head to Persephone's apartment where they find the files, her laptop, her jewelry box, and grab a few of her clothes as much as they can take with them. They aren't able to find Kyle and get a location so they decide to stay the night. While Persephone and Raven have a few drinks back at the clubhouse they get a little tipsy. Someone escorts both of the girls back to their rooms. When they get a location on Kyle they head to him finding him in an alley, they grab him and throw him in a van taking him to one of their warehouses. Kyle doesn't want to talk because either way he's a dead man. Shovel heads back to the clubhouse to be with Persephone, when he finds her she's naked. Shovel pleasures her and then they make love, slowly he doesn't want to hurt her. Shovel is woken the next morning, the brothers want to get going to end this. When Shovel arrives he finds out that Kyle talked and told them everything, so he does his thing he needs to do. Shovel finds out that Kyle planned everything they're now looking for the driver who carjacked Persephone's parents. When Shovel gets back to the clubhouse he fills in Persephone on an edited version of Kyle. Shovel also tells her about her trust fund it's more than she thought it was. When Shovel holds Church he finds out if the Cartel got his message with Kyle, but he know they'll be in contact with him. Shovel tells his brothers he still wants to be on lockdown, no one can go outside the compound walls. After Church Shovel takes Persephone to his home, where he pleasures her, then they make love. Eight weeks later, they never heard from the Cartel, but they're out of lockdown. While Shovel is in his office Persephone comes knocking on his door. Shovel gives her a kiss and asks her what on her mind. Persephone tells him she was on the pill but when she was shot she missed a few doses. She tells him she pregnant, and Shovel kisses her letting her know how happy he is. Persephone tells him she loves him but she wants more than one kid with him. Shovel tells her he want at least three kids. Three years later, they had a little girl named Lavender, they are married. Persephone is pregnant with their second child and Shovel wants to keep trying until they have a boy. They have so much love to give that all of their children will always know their love for them.

Tory Baker has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Persephone and Shovel. Persephone has lost her parents to a carjacking. Not long after their deaths, she meets Kyle and began to see him. Things go wrong from the start but she doesn't see it. Once she figures things out she tries to find proof of what is going on. She is in Kyle's home office when he walks in. they get into an argument. Kyle tries to kill her and then dumps her in the middle of nowhere. Shovel can't believe what he is seeing. As he gets closer to the woman he saw, he can see she is bleeding and she is holding one arm with the other, and she is bruised all over. Shovel stops in front of her. He asks "What kind of trouble are you in?" "Probably more than you want to take on." "Eh, that's for me to figure out, but the way you're bleeding I'm thinking you need a doc. You able to ride and see what we can sort out? "I don't want to bring trouble to your doorstep, mister. Well, I don't even know your name. She tilts her head in thought. "Shovel, babe. You?" He doesn't hold his hand out to her to shake. She does one better, giving him all the answer he needs as she walks toward him. "Persephone. I won't take up much of your time. Not that I know what exactly I'll be doing next, she murmurs. Shovel gets her to get on his bike and takes her to the clubhouse where he has Doc take care of her. She had been shot, beaten, and left for dead. When she wakes up she hears men talking about her and one of them asks about a missing person report. She tells them that there wouldn't be one her words slurred. She is waking up and knows that she needs to figure things out. "Take a break, girlie." Her eyes pop open and see a man who isn't Shovel staring down at her. "I have to get up. I can't bring this much trouble to you. She tries to get up, but the blood rushing to her head tells her that isn't on the agenda. For some reason, Shovel has decided to claim Persephone and he tells his brothers in the club. They start looking into what has happened to Persephone and who she is. There isn't a missing person report out on her as she said. She is getting a little better and decides it's time to tell Shovel and the rest what happened to her. Once the club has the information, they start to dig into Kyle and what they find, they don't like. Shovel wants the man found so that he can make him pay for what he did to Persephone. The more that Shovel finds out the madder he gets over what happened to Persephone.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Diamondback MC series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Persephone hasn’t had an easy life her parents were murdered in a supposed carjacking, in walks a nightmare dressed in a suite (Kyle Landers) which she ends up with him for the next few years where he treated her like she was nothing. One day while looking in his office she sees paperwork that her parents left her a trust fund which she knew nothing about until the discovered paperwork. When she asked him about it, he beat her, verbally abused her, shot her, and took her out to the middle of nowhere in his truck leaving her for dead. Shovel (Cain) just happen to be heading to the clubhouse when he sees a beaten, bruised, broken, shot women holding her arm because it is broken, out of it due to all the pain her body is feeling and shock. Of course, being the man, he is he wasn’t leaving her to walk hurt and abused helping her onto his bike taking her to the club where the doctor is waiting. The chemistry is instant and intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored he makes her feel safe and she knows he can be trusted with all her secrets. So, while healing she tells him and the MC members about what happened and of course Shovel didn’t get his name by just sitting around letting wrong happens to women, so they get Kyle and boy does he get what’s coming to him. So, how much is her trust fund, when does it mature, why did Kyle do all this to her, and can she have peace and happiness with Cain?

Unexpected
4 1/2 stars. This story lacks no heat that's for sure! From the moment they met, she became his to protect. He took over and gave her protection and made her apart of his world. There's spice, action and family.
Our h went through some scary events that led her straight to our H. Finding her, he immediately feels that she is his, his Old Lady, his to protect. I love how everyone was like family and immediately saw to her needs. That's love, he was meant to find her and it was great that she found another family! Great that she had another female to bond with as his brothers helped him find justice.
Both characters are likeable. Their story is interesting and they are HOT together! What I wanted was for them to wait some more to be together, especially considering what happened to her. That's what dropped my rating to 4 1/2 because her incident was not to be taken lightly. But they could not deny the other and he was such a gentleman with her. Family was at the core with this club. As always, I voluntarily leave my review after reading through my free ARC copy from Booksprout. Sexy, action, justice, family. Grab that ice water and settle in!

Cain (Shovel) was on his way home to the clubhouse when he spots an injured woman along the road, walking toward the clubhouse. He stops and helps he get there where the Doc can help. Gun shot, broken arm, bruised all over, swollen eyes and lips. She is now in the protection of Cain and Persephone can not be any safer as she heals. Once awake enough, she is able to tell them a little about what happened and the sleaze that did it, along with her trust fund being his goal.
The characters are strong and determined, protective over all around them, and tighter than a family would ever be. The storyline has drama, intrigue, backstories and truth coming to light before the sleaze passes away. The romance is gentleness and true concern as the two grow closer. Loved that she felt safer at the clubhouse, with all her new family and Cain than since her folks died. Truly home. Loved the ending and can not wait to read more of this group.

This is book number 2 of the Diamondback MC series and focuses on Shovel (Cain) and Persephone. The 2 meet on the side of the road by the MC's clubhouse after Persephone was left for dead after being attacked and shot by her ex-boyfriend. Cain immediately knows that there is something special about Persephone and is quick to claim her as his while he tries to help her heal but also track down her ex. They fall hard and quick for each other and get an excellent HEA. I loved everything about this story and how absolutely amazing Cain was with Persephone and helped build her life back up after it was all torn away from her. This was an excellent addition to the series and I can't wait for Rugar and Sadie's story!!

Cain is driving back to the MC when he comes across a woman walking down the road. Persephone has been beaten and shot and left for dead on this backroad. Why? What is going on? Cain is tatted, muscles galore and is sexy hot. Cain is going to help Persephone and takes her back to the MC. Cain is the President of the MC and therefore has some clout. He will protect Persephone and get the information from her on what happened. These two characters have instant chemistry even in Persephone’s injured state. Their attraction is going to get very interesting! There is just the right amount of drama, passion, lust and love, yet also tenderness and caring. It is fast paced, a real page-turning read. The characters made the story come alive!

Even in the darkest times you may find love.
I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable although there was some discussion about violence (some toward the female mc) off and on throughout the story. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. The physical relationship between Persephone and Shovel (Cain) started way sooner than I thought would be realistically possible but being a story I decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Persephone and Cain met after she survived an attack. Cain knew that he was going to claim her when she was better. Persephone was strong and sassy. Cain was protective and possessive. Together they and the rest of the club worked to figure out what was really going on and why Persephone was attacked. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

The second book in Tory Baker's ride or die Diamondback MC series is Wild - and boy does the title fit from the very beginning! This is a fast-paced, steamy instalove with a dirty-talking biker (Shovel aka Cain) who is protective and swoon-y from the moment he happens upon a shot-and-left-to-die young woman (Persephone). The President of the Diamondback MC, pushing forty and single, Shovel was in no hurry to settle down with an Ol' Lady. But as soon as the beautiful Persephone enters his life, he is all about claiming her while making sure that the man responsible for leaving her for dead pays. Cain and Persephone have Kindle-melting chemistry and a must-read love story. The MC genre is not always my cup of tea, but at the pen of Ms Baker, this series is highly entertaining and enjoyable!

I liked this one a lot better than the first one. Persephone was such a great character and perfect for Shovel the MC prez. Even though she was young, she was strong, confident and unafraid. Shovel claimed her as soon as he could, I don't think she was even conscious at the time! Persephone is in deep trouble and got lucky she was dumped on the Diamondbacks land. She keeps trying to push Shovel away to save him but he won't stand for that from his woman. It is fun to meet some of the other characters in this MC, hopefully they get their own stories! I finished this one in one sitting, great heat, action and suspense.

Cain “Shovel” is president of the Diamondback MC and is focused on running his club, until he encounters a beautiful women who was shot and left for dead in MC territory. Persephone has had a really rough year, and things come to a head when her “boyfriend “ shoots her and leaves her for dead in the middle of nowhere. Shovel finds Persephone, and takes her to the clubhouse for medical treatment, but it’s instant attraction and he claims her as his old lady. There is a bit of suspense and intrigue, and definitely the thread of a deeper plot that will continue through the series of books. Enjoyed reading

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Diamondback MC series. Shovel, the president of the MC was out one day and found a wounded woman wandering around alone. Shovel took her back to the clubhouse and claimed her as his old lady, he only had to tell her. Persephone was shot and beaten by her ex and was left for dead. Persephone was very attracted to Shovel and wanted to stay with him, but Persephone didn't want to bring trouble to the MC, but she also felt safe with them. Shovel was determined to learn who hurt her and why, so he could take his revenge for hurting his woman. I really enjoyed this book. Persephone was a strong woman but she had a lot of heartache to deal with. I love how Shovel was so sure of her and knew she was his. Another good one.

As Prez, he has responsibilities to the club, but at once he knows that he will protect her just as much. She recovers and they discover so much about her past. Shovel is not going to let the injustice stand. He and the club take care of their own. This is a short, fast paced story that has plenty of drama, danger, betrayal, family, lust and love. I enjoyed the characters and the story. The only downside was I wish the stories were longer.

Shovel/Cain & Persephone
This was a good story. I definitely liked it better than the 1st. Their was a lot more heart & connection between the couple. As much as I liked Raven in her best friends story, and again in this one I wasn't really a fan in her own book. Partly because strippers aren't my idea of heroine material, but also she just seemed cold, closed off and way to easy for a man that was kind of a jerk. This story turns that all around though. Persephone was a really good heroine, and Shovel/Cain was a great H and club Prez. And we got to see Raven and her man finally act like a loving couple.

As much as I love a strong and powerful alpha... I love it even more when his girl is just as fierce! Persephone is incredibly strong... a survivor to the core. She's determined to not let life tear her down (even though she`s been through hell and back. Shovel was immediately attracted to her strength, to her raw determination and will. He`s protective, and determined to keep her safe. Their story was fast-paced, extra steamy, suspencefull, and filled with love. Whenever I read one of Tory Baker`s books, I know I won't be able to put it down... and this was no exception! A great addition to this series!

Persephone was shot, beaten and left to die by her boyfriend. Shebisbwalking along the road when Shovel rides up and sees her. He takes care of her and brings her back to the clubhouse to get fixed up and mend. She does not want to bring illnon the club. Shovel laughs and tells her not to worry about it as he has claimed her and that jer demons are his. Also that she is not alone as he and the club now have her under their protection. Great second story for this series. Anxious for the next in the series.

Cain aka Shovel saves Persephone. He is instantly attracted to her beauty, determination and grit, and is determined to make her his. Persephone is trying to keep her past from hurting Shovel and his club, and tries to leave but Shovel won't let her. The chemistry between the two is sizzling hot, and Shovel is actually quite a sweetheart. I thought this story was a fun quick read, and entertaining.

By all that is holy, Tory Baker's writing style is sheer perfection for MC romances! Fast, intense, and passionate. Not to mention, if you want heroes without a bunch of ladies hanging around the clubhouse, these books are for you! Shovel and Persephone were just as amazing a couple as Raven and Razor. I dove right into the story and didn't come up for air until it was done. Do you know how hard it is to use the elliptical when you are reading? I do and it was completely worth it! I am so in love with this series, I need about a dozen more! Please Tory, please?

I’m really enjoying the Diamondback series so far. This is book two and it’s about the Prez, Shovel. He finds Persephone left for dead in their territory. It’s instalove and possessive. He wants to help her heal and help protect her. Persephone was left for dead by her boyfriend, but meeting Shovel has changed the course of her life. These two together are 🔥 and their story is really great. Short and steamy with a lead in to the next story as well as an ending perfect for this couple.

I thought that this was a really good book. Shovel (Cain) and Persephone were great together. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. Persephone did not really fight Shovel when he was claiming her. Shovel is willing to do anything and everything to protect is club and now is woman. I really liked how this book connects with the first book really well. I can't wait for Sadie's book! I would recommend this book and Ms. Tory as a must read author.
