A force of nature. The moment Billie ran into us, seeking help from her attacker, I knew I was done for.
As a brother fresh out of prospecting for the Houston Defiance MC, it’s my job to sit back and follow the rules. Do as I’m told. Fight when I’m needed. And I do it without question—every single time.
But Billie brings something out in me that makes me want to fight for her—to break the rules for her. Protecting her from her attacker is my duty, even if my brothers are suspicious of the circumstances.
Someone, though, is being deceptive, reckless, a traitor. Leaking information about the club. A most heinous act.
An old enemy is rearing his ugly head, right as Billie and I are getting close. But things are not always so black and white. When you’re faced with rage, how can you possibly survive? Especially when deception comes from someone you never expected…
With a flair for all things creative, USA Today Bestselling Author K E Osborn, is drawn to the written word. Exciting worlds and characters flow through her veins, coming to life on the page as she laughs, cries, and becomes enveloped in the storyline right along with you. She's entirely at home when writing sassy heroines and alpha males that rise from the ashes of their pasts.
K E Osborn comforts herself with tea and Netflix, after all, who doesn't love a good binge?
Nothing beats a Houston Defiance MC book because this author knows how to pull you in, keeps you on the edge of your seat only to set you up for an exciting ending. There is suspense, secrets, steam with this club always under the gun.
Being deceptive can never end well. There will always be people who are hurt or are angry and this book surely brought this thought home. Billie and Phantom’s story was fantastic. So, if you love your MC books with people who overcome so much to find their HEA this is the book for you. The setup at the end for Koda and Thayleah only has me now counting the days until Secretive comes out. I highly recommend this book.
Deceptive (Houston Defiance MC #6) Written by: K.E. Osborn
What happens when you are forced to deceive people on purpose, to set them up for retaliation, to leave them vulnerable to the machinations of a mad man who intends that no one survive his retaliation? What happens when you’re his sister and he is forcing you? What happens when they take you in, treat you as family, and give you protection all while your whole purpose is deception? That’s the position Billie has been put in by her brother Rage, a member of a rival MC group.
Billie has always been vulnerable; her brother has hated her from the time she arrived in his life. He’s mean, he’s nasty and he has done nothing but bully her, physically hurt her and managed to remove any self-worth she might have had. So when Rage forces her hand and sends her to infiltrate the Houston Defiance MC and feed him information, she has no choice.
The members of the Houston Defiance MC although a one percent club, treat each other as family. They protect each other; they are one big supportive family. That’s why they are at the hospital, supporting family members and that is where Billie has been sent to do what she is being forced to do.
It’s there she meets up with Phantom and Texas, looking and acting like a woman who has just been mugged and begging for protection. Phantom, this man has a big heart, he sees she has been beaten, he wants to help and he has reasons why he feels this way. So until a background check is run she will be spending time with him. Phantom himself came from a home where violence was part of his childhood. His compassion takes over and he is ready to help her.
Will she do the right thing to protect those who are helping her, will she tell them the truth and why she is there; or are her fears so overpowering she is unsure of what the final outcome will be. Meantime, she is developing feelings for Phantom and he is developing feelings for her….will there be a war?
Although there is light to Phantom and Billie’s story, there is a lot of darkness as well. If I were in her spot, how would I act? What would I do? All this being said, Author K.E. Osborn gave readers a story filled with hope, love and growth for Billie’s character. She also gave us a lot of suspense and drama that kept the story moving and shifting. Can the club members including Phantom ever forgive Billie or will she forever be an outcast?

Deceptive is book six of the Houston Defiance MC series. This series should be read in order, so I highly recommend starting with book one of the series. These stories start where the previous one left off and you'll have a better understanding of the supporting characters and their environment. This story focuses on Phantom and Billie.
Phantom is pretty laid back and a good guy. He's loyal, brave, caring, has an alpha side that he doesn't show often. He's been suffering since he lost the one woman he thought he loved to his brother. He wears his emotions on his sleeves. I liked that he remained good friends with Prinie. Sometimes I felt he was too gullible and trusting. He has a lot of personal trauma from his childhood. My heart broke for him.
Billie is a hott mess. I honestly don't have any nice things to say about her. I found her to be weak, selfish, idiotic, and far from loyal. She had multiple opportunities to redeem herself and she pretty much failed every time. I just couldn't find it in me to like her. Personally I felt she brought nothing to the table.
This book surprised me. I thought I'd like Billie and Phantom together in the end, but I never did. I don't know how he could get past her B.S. The story was full of heart stopping moments, lots of action, betaryal, and vengeance, which made for an entertaining read, but I just couldn't get past her indescretions.
The good news is, there's more much more excitement to come in the series! And Osborn really knows how to shake things up and keep us on our toes. Can't wait for Koda!
Deceptive takes us back into the world of the Houston Defiance MC for one emotional ride. Phantom is a character you can’t help but like, however Billie is one of those characters that I sat on the fence with throughout the whole story. The story is filled with deception, vengeance and passion. Phantom and Billie’s story is action packed, steamy and filled with suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat. My only negative to this story is that I felt Phantom forgave Billie far too easily but that is a personal thing for me. However the ending has you eagerly awaiting the next book.
Billie was in quite a predicament. Her connection with Phantom only made it worse. As she tried to find a better way, I had a hard time putting down this book. Phantom was so sweet when they first met and very protective of Billie. I loved them as a couple, and I enjoyed another visit to the Houston Defiance MC. The support they show for each other, through the good and the bad, has me recommending this series.
I received a copy of this story through The Hatters, and this is my unsolicited review.
⚠May contain spoiler from previous books in series⚠
I think Deceptive is Houston Defiance MC's most complicated plot book yet, but it's my absolute favorite too! I had really enjoyed the previous books in the series, but with none had I experienced as much anxiety or cried, plus Phantom is a character who I was dying to read and I think K.E. Osborn gave him and Billie one of the best and most exciting stories.
I have to start by saying that since the end of Protective I have been very afraid and curious to meet Billie, and in short, she's a character that I didn't expect to understand so deeply. She is a girl who is alone in the world, has faced painful moments and has never had the freedom to choose anything thanks to Rage, her older brother and president of the Heathens of Hatred, who forces her to infiltrate with the Defiance guys to get revenge on Zero, Neon & Oakley. And from there begins the complicated journey of doubts, guilt and uncertainty for Billie, as she immediately realizes that Defiance's boys are totally different from what she knows, especially Phantom, who immediately gives her his unconditional support and in the process makes the task that Rage assigned her a lot more complicated.
Billie is a VERY COMPLICATED character, I think it can be difficult to love her because from the beginning we know that she's betraying everyone in Defiance, but it's also impossible to realize that she HAS NO OTHER OPTION, and despite the fact that many times I believed that Billie could make different decisions, it was very easy for me to understand the motivation behind her behavior, in addition to the fact that it's evident that she's a good girl, someone who has been put in a completely complicated position, that she feels guilty and is in constant conflict, but at the same time she has to do everything to survive and seek her freedom, no matter how painful it may be.
On the other side is Phantom, one of the youngest guys in the MC, and who has come a long way throughout this series, a rather complicated one too, from being a prospect to his infatuation with Prinie and coming to his broken heart and constant suffering after she finally made things right with Wrait, it has been painful and sad, but I have loved to read a all the growing of Phantom in the club, he's a funny, kind, cocky and flirtatious guy, loyal to the MC and the people who are important to him, he has a VERY interesting personal story, and in this book he faces many obstacles to find what he need to be happy again.
From the first moment that Phantom sees Billie he feels attracted to her, but not only physically, their bond is much deeper and makes that he want to protect her immediately. The chemistry between the two and the ease with which they can talk to each other are wonderful, but the gaps in Billie's story and the constant doubts of some members of the MC towards her complicates the relationship between her and Phantom so much. However, I think K.E. developed very well the things between these two, because throughout the book it was very nice to be able to read all kinds of moments between them, the change in their feelings, Billie's doubts and anxiety, and the broken hearts when the truth is discovered, and while we can see the the direction that Billie & Phantom's relationship took from the start, the plot is full of surprises, tension, and twists that are totally unexpected, and I enjoyed reading it too much.

I will be honest for a sec and say that when I saw the blurb for this book, I couldn't remember who Phantom is within the MC. I wracked my brain, but I couldn't come up with the answer. I think it might have been because he played such a vital part from the background. He never steps into the limelight until this story. I felt like I was at a disadvantage from the beginning, and I am not sure that feeling ever went away.
Phantom - The Prospect from Addicted who befriends Prinie. He thought he had a chance with her until he realizes that what Wraith and Prinie have is real. Phantom then becomes a patched brother, and his next big role is when he's a part of Finley's protection detail with Texas.
As I write a review, I like to think about what someone else might want to know. Was the plot good? Would they like the characters? Was it really out there? Etc. This time around, I am having a hard time formulating those pieces. I think that might be because the characters drive the plot to the point where you almost can't separate the two. I can't make the argument that I liked the characters but not their story. I can't also say that I liked the plot without these two as the main characters. It's all wrapped into one easy read.
The Plot: This book isn't going to be one of my favorites in the series, but I didn't mind the basic plot line. I thought it had potential as we've seen Houston Defiance pick up more enemies than they know what to do with the last couple of books. I just thought that for as smart as they are, they should have picked up on the deception faster than what they did. The brothers all had a gut feeling that something was wrong, but no one ever put the pieces together until it was too late. You're an MC. Isn't it in your nature to question everything?
Phantom: Ironically enough, I thought he was impulsive. He gets sucked into a woman's sob story and never questions that it might be a con. Phantom is so eager to have a family of his own that he misses the obvious signs that all is not right. He even goes so far as to question his brothers when they start asking questions. That's not unconditional love, loyalty, or brotherhood. It almost made me think of an impatient little boy who wants the same as everyone else, and he wants it now. How could he miss what's right in front of him? On a the flip side of that, how could he still want the person who caused his family pain? I wanted to shake some sense into him.
Billie: I think she might be my favorite part of the whole thing. She's trapped in a no-win situation and falls in love with the last person she should be with. Billie would love nothing more than to join Defiance but fears that they won't accept her. However, when it all falls apart, that's when Billie's character shows through. She never gives up even when the chips are stacked against her.
DECEPTIVE is the sixth instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the members of the Houston Defiance MC. This is MC member Cannon ‘Phantom,’ and Billie Brennan’s story line. DECEPTIVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as some of the events of the current time line are as of a direct result from previous events. The Houston Defiance MC series is a spin off from the author’s Chicago Defiance MC.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Phantom and Billie) covering approximately twelve to eighteen months, DECEPTIVE follows in the wake of a beaten and battered Billie Bradshaw Brennan looking for help from the Houston Defiance MC but Billie is keeping secret the real reason she has sought out the MC, a secret that threatens the lives of Houston Defiance MC. Phantom has struggled in the wake of ‘losing’ the woman he thought he once loved to the Houston Defiance MC vice president (Addictive) but ‘rescuing’ Billie gives Phantom hopes for a future of his own but all is not well within the MC as every important decision and move is met with deadly force by the Heathens of Hatred MC. What ensues is the building romance and relationshp between Phantom and Billie, and the potential fall-out as a deadly ambush points the finger at a familiar face, and Billie becomes suspect in the eyes of the MC.
From the outset, the members of the Houston Defiance MC don’t trust our story line heroine, and for good reason. There is something about Billie’s story and situation that doesn’t sit well with the members of the MC, and in this Billie will not be accepted by those in control. Phantom is desperate to prove Billie is not at the club under mysterious circumstances but events will unfold that will shake the world of our story line hero.
The relationship between Billie and Phantom is one of immediate attraction . Phantom becomes guardian and protector of the woman with whom he will fall in love, a woman who will betray our hero and the members of the Houston Defiance MC- the resulting chaos, pushes Billie out of Phantom’s life, threatening Phantom’s position and membership with the Houston Defiance MC. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples: Zero and Cherry (Explosive 1)Wraith and Prinie (Addictive 2), Kevlar and Jovie (Fugitive 3) Neon and Oakley (Impulsive 4), Texas and Finley (Explosive 5), Prinie’s brothers Zero and Koda, Thayleah, club doctor Chills and her husband Chains, as well as Billie’s brother Rage, several members of the Heathens of Hatred MC, and a quick look at Phantom’s dysfunctional family at home. Koda and Thayleah’s story line is next in Secretive. I am hoping the author has plans for Phantom’s sister Libertee aka Tee.
DECEPTIVE is a story of betrayal, deceit, vengeance and power. The premise is gritty and heart breaking; the romance is impassioned; the characters are energetic, captivating, intense and desperate - saying that, the revelation of the who, what, and why should have resulted in immediate death but the author chose to go in another direction.
Can this series get any better? In a word ... YES!! I've been waiting, not so patiently I might add, for Phantom to have his story. KE Osborn has kicked MEGA GOALS with DECEPTIVE. It's raw, emotional, unforgiving, yet tender and passionate all at the same time. Suspenseful, gritty, action-packed, and dramatic from beginning to end. Deceptive is an addictive read.
" ... the second I saw her with her dark green hair, thin pale face, ripped jeans, and leather jacket with studs on her shoulders. I knew I was in trouble."
My heart broke for Phantom when Prinie chose Wraith over him in Addictive. Ever since then all I've wanted is for him to find his woman, his love, but life wasn't meant to be easy. I love Phantom. he's the fun guy, the one whose loyalty is never questioned, the one who would do anything for anyone, he's also the one who deserves to have some love and happiness in his life. The moment he saw the green haired woman at the hospital he knew he had to help her; he knew she was going to be special to him. What he didn't know was just how much she was going to turn his world upside down.
"Phantom is everything I didn't know I could love. He's everything I shouldn't be able to have. He's everything I'm more likely going to lose."
Billie is a woman who has never had any sunshine or happiness in her life. Her brother, Rage, has controlled everything and now he is using all her vulnerabilities to force her to spy on his greatest enemy, Defiance MC. Billie is such a sweetheart, she's had a rough life, and what she is put through is heartbreaking; her guilt and conscious constantly eating at her. When she forcibly agrees to Rage's demands, she finds something she never expected to ... a family who welcomes her, and a man who treats her with tenderness and love.
" ... you don't turn you back and leave. No matter how hard the road to the end becomes.
The chemistry between Phantom and Billie is immediate. Not only that though, but Phantom also automatically assumes protection mode when he sees Billie. She's broken and Phantom wants nothing more than to fix her, but what he doesn't know is that she is also hiding a huge secret, one that could destroy his family, the Defiance MC. Even though Phantom is immediately drawn to Billie, there are others within the club who are suspicious of her, especially when several unexplained events begin to happen. Is Billie who she says she is? Can she be trusted?
As with the previous books in this series, DECEPTIVE had me riveted, turning pages continually, and letting time slip by unnoticed. KE certainly knows how to draw out the emotions with Phantom and Billie, I felt such joy when Phantom thought he had found his girl, utter devastation when he learned the truth, and for Billie there was both frustration and sympathy for her situation. As usual, KE has the entire club involved, and she ensured their anger, grief, and elation with what was happening within the club was also felt by her reader.
SECRETIVE is the next installment, and after reading the last few pages of Deceptive I'm really looking forward to Koda and Thayleah's story.
OMG I’ve wanted Phantom’s story since he was a prospect and infatuated with Prinie!!!
When I finished Protective , I was curious of the woman Phantom met in the hospital. She’d been mugged in the alley and looking for help but didn’t wanna go to the police. Hmm, sounded sketchy. But, I was all in for it.
We learn from the prologue who Phantom’s mystery girl is and what her deal is.
Billie’s brother is Rage, the President of the Heathens of Hatred MC. They’re also enemies to the Houston Defiance MC. Ever since Oakley blackmailed them and joined Defiance and with the help of Zero and Neon he lost.
Billie’s been abused by her brother and the club her entire life. After her grandmother died she’s been alone ever since. She’s told what to do, where to live and everything else by her brother or else.
Billie’s given a new job to do from Rage. Billie needs to infiltrate Defiance MC and she must report information back to Rage.
Billie realizes rather quickly that the brothers, Old Lady’s and club girl’s are not the same as the ones she’s been living with. That her brother is the bad guy and Defiance are the good guys.
But, Billie knows if she doesn’t follow through for Rage he’ll kill her and if she tells Phantom, Zero and everybody who she really is that she’s dead. Either way she’s in a loose-loose situation.
Phantom never saw himself finding love after everything that went down with Prinie. But, there’s something with about Billie that had him head over heels for her.
Phantom wants to protect Billie from whoever mugged her so he’ll protect her.
The club is also doing their day to day stuff until thing’s start sideways. Shipments start getting raided. Building’s that are hidden are being attacked and Defiance MC has no idea which one of their enemies are coming from them or how they’re getting their information.
But, when Phantom and the club find out it could be a little too late for them.
OMG I HATE to say this but this is my least favorite book out of ALL the different chapters Defiance BC’s and their fellow clubs. As much as I liked the story and as much as I’ve loved Phantom since the beginning.
Argh!!!! After EVERYTHING Phantom went thru since he was a prospect. His name is Phantom bc he spent a year following Koda and Prinie and they never knew. His heart broke when she fell in love with Wraith. Then, Zero’s punishment. I was waiting for him to get his HEA but instead he’s in love with Billie who, yes had no choice but I wish she would’ve trusted Phantom, Texas and Zero from the beginning. And, I’m hoping for one day they have they’re HEA and he’ll have his Old Lady but they’ll have to be patient.
I really enjoyed this one, really loved Billie and Phantom as a couple they fit perfectly but, their attraction to one another was doomed from the start.
Talk about waiting for the axe to fall, we felt that way through the entire story waiting for the secrets to unfold, so much so the story had us on pins and needles the entire time.
Loved the chemistry between Phantom and Billie, it was one of those romances where you felt that they had been together for years and not just days or weeks, loved that about their relationship. We also loved to that she fit in with the club so well, it was just a shame it was like doom and gloom the whole time, and it seemed real but, the question was any of it ever real? Time will tell.
Overall, I was surprise at the generosity of this club concerning the circumstances. I am also glad, Phantom, worked through the stuff he needed to make things better for all parties involved. We loved Billie but, not her actions and even though she had no choice to be party to something bad she had more than enough people to put her trust in once she got to know them all and the ones she claimed to love it's a pity really my heart broke for phantom for them all...
The story kept you on the seat of your pants the entire time. Loved it! So loving the characters and the series.
Deception is such an evil thing and something that can range from a small matter to a huge thing. In this story it caused such disaster as well as heartache—for me too! 😀 I immediately became invested in the story and wanted to give Billie a good talking to. That poor girl had nobody and needed some guidance, The Defiance MC members and their partners were great as always and I loved getting to know Phantom better. I always liked him but in this story he really grows up and shines brightly.
Billie was made of strong stuff, she had to grow a steel-reinforced backbone with a brother like hers. Although I didn’t agree with what she did, I understood why and felt sorry for her, she was really between a rock and a hard place.
This story was filled with lots of fantastic action and drama, that at times, had me sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation and or fear. You definitely jump on the old emotional roller coaster ride and feel each emotion deeply.
Don’t think you’ll be able to predict what is going to happen because there are lots of twists and turns making it very enjoyable.
So firstly my heart was sore for poor Billie. I completely sympathized with her and her situation. And I was so glad she found the Defiance gang to help her and also show her what a real family is like. Especially Phantom. He was just too freaking sweet man. From the minute he met Billie he was all in. And all he wanted was to help her and be there for her and make sure she was safe and feel protected.
But then I was so mad at her at times. Like why didnt she come clean… She had so many opportunities to tell them what was going on. And especially when she knew that Phantom was having feelings for her…
I have to say from the minute I knew what Billie was doing, my stomach was in knots. I was anxious right from the start till the end. Hoping she comes clean, then in knots because what if she gets caught. It was just a rollercoaster read for me. But in the end I was hooked from the start and I just wanted Billie and Phantom to have some peace and some happily ever after… Lots of drama, action, suspense and high on angst for me. But I loved it 😊
Billie and Phantom took me on an emotional, exciting and hopeful journey. For Billie, her life isn’t her own. Her brother Rage has controlled and hated her from the day she was born and her latest task for him is to spy on the Houston Defiance. What she never expects is to find a welcoming and family-oriented environment. She struggles with doing what Rage wants as she finds a community and family that welcomes and accepts her. Phantom is caught off guard when he meets Billie. He sees someone that needs help which is a driving force for him, to help or fix things for people. As they work to figure out who attacked Billie, other things start happening to the club. Billie knows what she is doing is wrong but doesn’t know how to protect Phantom with Rage breathing down her neck with all of his blackmail threats. I enjoy spending time with the Houston Defiance family. This story delivers all the drama, passion and excitement which kept me captivated. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Billie ran into some of the guys from Houston Defiance MC seeking help from an attacker and Phantom is immediately helpful and making commitments to protect her. He might only be just out of being a prospect at the club and therefore should keep his nose clean and do whatever he is told or asked to do, but he just wants to protect her even if it involves breaking a few rules. The brother members of the club are rightly suspicious of both Billie but also her story of the attacker and what happened to her. Then it becomes clear to the whole club that someone is being deceptive and a traitor by leaking information about the club and its interests. This is not great timing as an old enemy is getting ready to strike just at the time that Phantom and Billie are getting closer. In a world where there isn't just black and white but a variety of shades of grey, how will folks, their loves and their relationships survive when the deceit and rage are all that they can get their heads around to process and the betrayal has come from someone who you would never have predicted it to be?
This was definitely a book full of passion, love, hate and rage after the effects of the deceit are felt. I loved the level of analysis of the emotions and thoughts that were involved in this very dramatic story. It was great to see that Phantom had to mature after his infatuation in earlier books in the series as well as the way that the club members were so much stronger together when they were all working towards a common aim. This was clear and easy to understand and the thoughts and emotions were easy to feel. Contains explicit sexual content.
I am fairly new to MC Romances but was extremely fortunate to have received arcs of the entire Houston Defiance Series by KE Osborne . I honestly cannot even find the right words to express how hooked I have become . Each book is so unique with stories that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen next . Each couple has so many different layers to them , the steamy moments and off the charts chemistry , not to forget moments that are so emotional you will literally feel like you are on a rollercoaster. Deceptive is no different , I have to say I think Billie and phantom are my absolute favorite couple though . The plot is a complicated one , That will have you feeling so much . There were moments I was balling my eyes out , and feeling so much anxiety at the same time . This truly is a book that has all the feels . Their story is far from a easy one , so full of suspense, and chemistry and drama , not to mention that they are smokin hot together
Deceptive is the sixth addition to the Houston Defiance series, and whilst it can be read as a standalone, I’d highly recommend reading the books in order. This title features Billie and Phantom and it’s sure to take you through a gamut of emotions. Billie is a complex and conflicted character. I really struggled to connect with this character, due to her deceptive nature. Whilst I felt sorry for all that she endured at the hands of those who are supposed to love and support you, she was also quite selfish. Whilst I felt sympathy for her situation, she also made me feel quite angry and frustrated, until she redeemed herself with an act of selflessness. Phantom is a caring, compassionate, protective, and a little too trusting. Despite his sweeter nature, he’s still an alpha, and just as loyal and lethal as his brothers of the Houston Defiance. If you enjoy a romantic suspense packed full of action, drama, betrayal and vengeance this is the book for you, and the ending left me eager for the next instalment in this engaging series.
This book just broke my heart. Phantom was so loving and forgiving, he pulled at my heart’s strings. I couldn’t bring myself to really like or even forgive Billie knowing she had ample time to come clean. I understand that she was in a horrible predicament due to her j€Rk of a brother but her actions caused destruction to good people. In terms of MC club books go, Houston Defience MC has a special place in my heart because members are inherently good towards most everyone and loyal to each other to a fault and prospect Phantom certainly belongs there. The ending was really nice and satisfying but there was a hint of another trouble brewing for another member that gets me giddy for the next book in the series.
Once again K. E. Osborn produces a book in the Houston Defiance that will knock your socks of, you will be sent down many paths and have many conflicting emotions as you read Billie and Phantom's story because you what know Deceptive to mean and the people that do are not normally to be trusted sometimes things happen that are out of your control and you end up doing what you have to do to survive.
if you are a lover of reading while sitting on the edge of your seat, heart thumping out of your chest, as you can't wait to see what happens next, and of course with the right amount of hotness spread through the book then you will love Deceptive.
Deceptive is a motorcycle romance full of steam betrayal and action.
Billie is a young woman who has been controlled most of her life by a man that is supposed to be her protector- her brother. She’s had to do deplorable things at his command. After a run in with a rival MC she’s sent to infiltrate Houston Defiance.
Phantom is a brother in Houston Defiance MC and has not had good luck with women in the past. He meets Billie and is instantly interested and attracted to her. Phantom is a character that is easy to fall for. Charming, protective and just a good human. Unaware of the deception Phantom takes a chance on Billie and is ultimately betrayed by her.
Although Phantom forgave Billie too easily in my opinion I felt for Billie- she was put in an impossible situation. This book had me feeling all sorts of conflicted😂
I absolutely loved Deceptive but I love all of KE Osborns books. I’m so excited to see what happens next!
What a rollercoaster ride of events and emotions. You might need a few tissues for a few of the emotional scenes. I loved Cannon aka Phantom and Billie's story. Billie lived a life that was controlled by her brother utterly went through hell until she was sent on a mission to infiltrate another MC to get information to bring them down. She had to do whatever it took to do her brothers bidding even though it went against everything she felt. I knew she was going to get found out and was not ready for the outcome. This was a fantastic story. This author does a phenomenal job of making you feel what the characters are feeling. Most definitely recommend this book and series.
This is another hits from a great author. I love this series and can’t wait for the next one. Billie, is being made to betray the people who are helping her, even though its a set up. She starts to realize that her brother is bat crap crazy, and he’s gonna get her killed. Phantom, is taken with her, even though his brothers are Leary of her and her reason for being with them.when both Phantom and the Mc find out that she is a Trojan horse they banish her and aren’t sure what to believe. They all take care of her brother and his MC, and she is allowed back with the Defiance, and her hand Phantoms love grows.
Deceptive is my favorite read within The Houston Defiance Series, there I said it! The twists, the action, this cast of characters literally make my MC Romance loving heart so very happy!
Billie, GAH! This chick broke my heart, had me SO frustrated & eventually had me rooting for her. Although I did not agree with her choices, I completely understand the "why" behind them. And Phantom was literally everything! Their connection was just 🔥🔥🔥! Honestly, KE Osborn never disappoints ! Getting to return to the Houston Defiance MC Clubhouse is always so satisfying && that ending has me BEYOND excited for what's next! SO GOOD!
He saw her. She obviously needed help. Someone hurt her and she said she was hiding, He couldn't resist her. He had to protect her.
Is the club finally in a calm space? It seems. Until suddenly things go wrong. Someone knows too much and it is playing havoc with the club.
Once again, telling much will spoil it for the reader. Old friends, loyalty, suspicion, steam, and so much more. Never fear, some of the surprises are good ones. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On.
I loved this story and loved Phantom. It was nice to see him move on from Priney. The issue I had was Billy kept up the deception too long . She had tons opportunities to warn Defiance but she chose not to even though she knew the results would be the same. She had months to tell the truth. Then Phantom forgave her too easily . I still don’t like Billy and I won’t ever but I enjoyed the story. I loved seeing Priney and Wraith as their HEA progressed in this book. I enjoyed all of the other members too . Great series!
Oh my word. What a tangled web we weave. This girl has tied herself in so many knots. I wonder if she's ever gonna untangle herself? Abuse is bad on so many levels. But from a family member, it's so much worse. The deception that follows is beyond difficult for Billie. She had no choice, or so she thought. She was not the strongest of women out there. And the club was so unforgiving, it was sad. But luckily things can be worked through. I always appreciate a HEA, with a carrot in the end. Thank you for another great read
Deceptive by K E Osborn is book 6 in the Houston Defiance MC Series. I have read the previous books which did help with the enjoyment of this one. This is the story of Phantom and Billie. Billie has been abused and treated badly with no choice she has to do her brother's bidding. Billie is sent to get information about the MC and send it back to them. Phantom unknown to him that she is a mole being used to information has taken to protecting her. But slowly it starts to show that all is not right with Billie. Enjoyed this book and this series.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I’ve always felt badly for Phantom after Prinie chose Wrath. It was never a question that Prinie always did and would love Wrath, but of course Phantom didn’t know this history when he was sent as a prospect to watch over her. He’s definitely got a thing for punk girls with a bit of an edge. Billie is perfect for him cause she’s definitely punk and has her edge from the years of abuse and fear brought on because of her brother and his MC. The story was handled well and was packed full of romance and action. I cannot wait for more!
Deceptive is the next exciting installment in the Houston Defiance MC. Osborn delivers an intriguing and emotionally complex storyline with Phantom, who finally gets a girl. The club is everything to Phantom and when Billie shows up and things start going awry is he willing to risk losing his brothers for a woman? Billie was raised in a club much different than Defiance, where family didn’t matter with a brother that terrorized her. How Defiance befriends her and acts like a family to Phantom confuses her and makes her second guess her ability to carry through with her brother’s orders. Can they overcome lies and deception for a future together?
Phantom has always pulled at my heart and I couldn't wait to get my hands on his story. When Billie comes into Phantoms life it's under false pretenses and once she saw what Defiance was really like the more she hated what she was sent to do. Her life has never been easy and neither has Phantoms. Their story pulled at my heart. I laughed, I got angry, I felt the sting of betrayal, I forgave and I couldn't have been happier with the way their story ended. I can't wait to dive into the next Defiance story.
