FebruaryThe quotes overall range from silly (24 Feb) to inspirational (1 Mar) to—frankly—disgusting (12 Apr), and... I admit I'm not familiar enough with Cohen's work to know if this is par for his writing or if it's just pandemic-fatigue setting in (as he states is when this was written), but a lot of his interjections just seem like "I need to say something to justify this as a book written by 'me.'" "Don't tell girls they can be anything they want when they grow up. Because it would have never occurred to them that they couldn't. It's like saying, 'Hey, when you get in the shower, I'm not gonna read your diary.' 'Wait—are you gonna read my diary?' 'No! I said I'm not gonna read your diary. Go take a shower!'"

Dress cute, kids! And carry a small dog! This is the perfect Paris life mantra, but it applies to all of us. Dress cute!which feels like remarkably bad advice MOSTLY for the "carry a small dog" part, since this makes just being out in public areas actively hostile toward people with allergies to dogs, when at the very least businesses used to be safer in this respect—nowadays, I see non-service dogs in stores where they would NEVER have been allowed before.
