Neglected. Abused. Forgotten. Thrown away. The endless cycle of pain and abandonment that I’ve been living in. Somehow, I never let it break me. Until I met him. His games, his lies, his punishments. They twisted and molded me to fit his desires. He was breaking me down. Leaving this world of misery behind no longer sounded so bad. I had only ever known pain anyways. Until I was saved. Now, I have a new life. New friends. Maybe even a new family. I found a purpose and people who are willing to help me fight back for the first time ever. But everything comes at a price. War is on the horizon and I’m caught right in the middle of it. This time, I have something I’ve never had before, people I want to help protect. I can’t deny my damage. I’ll never be the same again. So this time, I’ll turn my scars into ammunition. This time, I’ll tear down the very ones who hurt me. They call it war. I call it revenge. Because this time? I’m going to be the one that’s deadly.
I recall reading the Steel Roses books and being extremely curious about many of the side characters, especially Jade who clearly stood out. Sam has a way of engaging the reader so deeply that each character introduced makes an impact. Damaged and Deadly is a beautifully written story where I felt as though I was traveling right alongside Jade on her journey of self discovery.
I understand now why Sam didn’t define the type of romantic relationship at the start of this book. Experiencing everything at the same pace as Jade definitely enhanced the reading experience. Sam even threw me for a loop with a surprise POV where I thought the story was going in a different direction than it ultimately did. But I loved that feeling of uncertainty as it helped me connect even more closely with Jade as she was experiencing the same thoughts and feelings.
All of Jade’s relationships, romantic and platonic, made a significant impact and gave her the love and support she needed to thrive.
I couldn’t imagine the difficulty of writing a story for a character who has suffered what Jade has, but Sam did it so beautifully. This is a special book and Jade is a special character and I look forward to seeing more of her and the entire Roses crew in future books.
This was a good stand alone in the Chaos universe, and I enjoyed the overall plot, and most of the romance but I didn't particularly like a lot of the getting there aspects. I really really do not enjoy FF. At all. And I would have liked to know there were FF scenes in this book beforehand. I understand the way the book was written that the author didn't want to define the relationships in the book, but knowing that a second female played a big part of the sex scenes would have been a deal breaker for me. I didn't enjoy Dare's character and I didn't enjoy the scenes with her and Ian or her and Jade. I know it was about exploring Jade's sexuality and that's fine, but it really wasn't my cup of tea and I feel that it should have been mentioned that there would be FF and ffm/ fmf scenes because that can be such a big deal breaker. And also to let readers know one of the main love interests has an explicit sexual relationship with a second female alongside the FMC. It wouldn't have been a huge spoiler because you still wouldn't have known how the relationship ended up, which was surprising in and if itself and actually felt really unnecessary. Why bring Holden in so far into the book, right near the end, go through all the tension and drama just to have him walk away? I felt it added nothing to the storyline other than the whole mystery around the end game relationship. I adored Jade and Ian's relationship it was a beautifully done friends to lovers story and adding Holden and then adding the sexual tension between Holden and Ian and then just deciding that they don't live each other enough and Jade only ends up with Ian at the end, it just didn't add anything to her story and felt more like it was done just to set up Holden's story. I was reluctant to read this but didn't want to miss anything for the third Steel Roses book so gave it a go, but had I known about the ff and then the almost not quite love triangle at the very end I'd have probably given it a miss. I liked Jade and Ian as characters but I feel this could have been a much shorter novel without all of the added drama.
I received an ARC of Damaged & Deadly in exchange for an honest review.
Let me begin by stating that this is a standalone in the Steele Roses world, and that you do not need to read Shattered Chaos, or Deadly Chaos in order to understand what is happening throughout Damaged & Deadly. While it functions perfectly as a standalone I do however HIGHLY recommend reading both Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos so that you can meet Scar and her merry band of psychos because they too are *Chef's Kiss*
Damaged & Deadly is the perfect title for this story. This book is about Jade, a character we met previously in the Steele Roses world, and her journey and growth after experiencing horrific trauma for years on end.
In the forward of the book Samantha specifically writes about why she has not labeled which type of a relationship forms throughout this book, and in order to respect that, and allow other readers to experience the emotional rollercoaster, I will not spoil this.
What I can speak on though is the PHENOMENAL character development and growth that takes place throughout this book.
When we first meet Jade she's terrified and struggling to live in a world where she is no longer held in captivity. It's been years since Jade has had the freedom to make her own choices, and discover who she is. This story gives us the privilege of watching Jade blossom and become the woman she craves to be.
This book takes us to hell and back with multiple POV's, and while I LOVE Ian's POV's, Jade's are the ones that truly break me. We see what it's like for Jade to overcome her fear of people, her fear of forming lasting connections and the change in her thought process. This book takes us through the story of a victim of horrific crimes and how she overcomes them to be both Damaged and Deadly.
This story is one of strength and preserverance. The relationship that unfolds is so beautiful it made me ugly cry, multiple times.
This is a 5 star read for me and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. 🖤
Awww you broke me, I have tears and am totally mad with you Samantha Bee. I want to be understanding and rational but it hurts, even if I can understand it. I'm hoping with time things will change and come back round, I had all the feels about them together. Is that cryptic enough? No spoilers from me. I had to put the book in time out three times, I couldn't breathe! Twice through worry and once through tears...I am not ok.
I loved Jade's story just as I love this world and all the characters. Ian, I knew I would love you as a leading man. I need more Holden I'm glad he's getting his own duet and also not glad!
Leaves review to go curse the author out, cos I just can't right now 😭🤣😭
Ok I'm back...this book is Hot with a capital H. It has all the emotional depth I've come to expect from Samantha Bee's writing interlaced with a great story. There's something really real that you can identify with when reading her books, I think it's the raw honesty in her words about people's thoughts, feelings and how they change and grow to become different and yet not.
I’ve been waiting for Jade’s book since she was introduced in Shattered Chaos. I knew going into this book it would be an emotional ride and I wasn’t wrong. Now while this book is part of the Steel Roses universe the previous two books aren’t needed to read and understand this book. I do however recommend them just because Scar and her men are amazing and their story is so good.
Jade is damaged. After being kidnapped at a young age she is thrown into a world no one should experience. Her innocence is stolen and everyday another piece of her breaks. After being passed to different homes to be used as a toy she finds herself with the worst of them all. Ciar doesn’t just want to use Jade as a toy, he wants to own her in every way possible. He is her nightmare come to life and she doesn’t have any hope of being free. That is until she is rescued on a mission by Scar. From the moment she is freed from her cage her fight starts to come alive. Scar takes her under her wing and helps rebuild her into the strong woman she knows she can be. We already see some of their friendship in the other books but I think this one showed how close they really are. There are some touching moments between them.
We get more on some of the side character’s in the books. Ian, Holden and Dare play a big part in Jade’s story. I fell in love with all three of them. I honestly kept asking where I could find my own Ian cause he is the definition of my dream guy. I’m pretty sure every line out of his mouth made me swoon. Holden was also up there in enchanting me. The way he looked at Jade and made her see that she belonged in their group was one so heartwarming. Dare is as daring as her name. She is able to push Jade to explore in ways the others can’t and shows her how to own her sexuality. A big question about this book is whether it is RH, F/M or a Ménage à Trois. I’m not going to answer that though. It doesn’t matter in this story. This book is about Jade and her reclaiming what was taken from her. She learns sex isn’t a horrid thing. For once she is able to feel the pleasure that comes with it for herself instead of being used for only others. We get to see Jade finally live. She is free for the first time and gets to experience life without being stuck in a cage. You can feel her excitement over trying new things. You get to laugh when she has no clue how to do something and makes a mess. You also get to see her pain when she gets overwhelmed and starts to doubt herself. Samantha did an excellent job with Jade’s journey. It wasn’t something that happened right away. It took time to build trust with those around her and allow herself to open up. It was fascinating to see how much she grew and to watch her discover all the parts of herself.
Even though Jade’s book is a standalone her story isn’t over. We will still see her appearance in Scar’s books. I can’t wait for more of her journey along with all the others. Samantha writes these characters that seem so real you can’t help but love them and root for them to win the war. They all have their own demons and are monsters in their own way, but they fit so well together. The bond they all share is a beautiful thing. They may be monsters to others but they are each other’s family. I am excited for what else is in store for this merry band of psychos. I know we are not even close to being done with their stories and am already craving for my next dose.
I don't even know where to begin or what to say. Jade's story was everything and more I could have ever dreamed it would be. I didn't know how much I needed to hear her story until I got devoured by it from page 1.
You guys have read the first two books in this series right? So you'll know of Jade, and this is her, quite rightly, highly anticipated standalone in the world of chaos series. Now I know I was sceptical about having a standalone kinda in the middle of the whole world, BUT it makes perfect sense to be like this. Everything in this world intertwines seamlessly and when you read this you'll just know that it was the perfect story to go into at this point.
No spoilers on who is involved in the mix because you need to go into this with clear eyes and open minds. Sam has emphasised that she hasn't put a label the relationships in this book and that's such a good move because this was as much as Jade's journey and discovery and it was the others.
I'm not going to lie and tell you it's all rainbows and steel roses because it definitely isn't. I went through the motions, I laughed (because how can I not when we still get so much of our big goofball Kade), I got mad, I got really wound up and had to take breaks, I cried a lot too, especially at the end.
I had to have a word with myself and understand why it ended the way it did, and once again please note Sam's explanation for why, it's not a cliffhanger but it's not a HEA, it's a HFN, and when you're used to reading characters standalone book with full blown beautiful ending this can be frustrating, but TRUST THE PROCESS. I know everything will work out eventually and it will all be exactly how it was meant to be, even if we didn't get exactly what we wanted right now.
What is it though, is touching, enlightening, vivid, emotional, beautiful along with all those things we NEED from the world of chaos series, its still deliciously dark and haunting and blood thirsty. Sam has once again blown me away with her words and I just know that it's going to be a painful wait for the next installment from Scar and her merry band of psychos! ☠🖤
Not sure how to start my review here and that would be a first for me... Shattered, I am completely shattered after finishing this book. The last few chapters left me gobsmacked that even now, contemplating on my feelings about the book, I am still stunned as to the outcome of things.
The Steel Roses characters are still engraved in my memory, so Jade's story was something I was looking forward to. So, the things that really stood out here were the main heroine's strength and dedication to fight her demons and strive to build herself back up, to accept that nothing would change overnight and to embrace the idea of taking it one step at a time. It was literally like watching a phoenix rising from the ashes and for that alone this story was such a gratifying experience. This soul- torturing plot has left me in pieces as somewhere deep down I was keeping my fingers crossed that things would take a slightly different turn, but I reckon that that is the beauty of being surprised and at the same time it speaks volumes as to the author's masterful manipulation of the very delicate art of leading the reader into a different direction than the initially anticipated one.
Samantha Bee has truly exquisite writing skills as she manages to tap into such a depth when it comes to her characters, their psychological states, whirlwind of emotions and personal struggles that one could not resist being swept away by the story. I imagine it takes great effort and attention to detail to portray such complex elements in a way that would allow readers to completely immerse themselves in the storyline.
It is a beautifully written book and I loved the development of connections, relationships and family ties that took place here. After all, everyone deserves a chance to get the full package- devotion, love and in the more metaphorical sense a place to call home.
Another World of Chaos masterpiece! I feel like any words I can write will not do this book justice. Samantha Bee is a genius of epic proportions for her writing and world building. Her books continue to hit me right in the feels, but Damaged & Deadly was not what I expected. It was everything I didn't know I needed from Jade's story. It is a standalone in A World of Chaos series, but definitely should be read after Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos.
"We use the pain that is festered deep within our souls and create masterpieces. We just like to paint in blood."
Jade is relatable in the trauma that she went through. Her fears and doubts are a palpable thing that draws an emotional connection. I felt like I could understand her through her eyes. her story is not pretty and it was heavy and emotional. But the beautiful part was the growth.
"There is beauty in our damage and the way we can heal from even the worst hurts. But sometimes when you watch how someone pieces themselves back together, you can still see the cracks."
The book is told primarily from Jades point of view, however there are multiple POVs that add so much to the story. I loved the sassy heroine in Jade that I have come to enjoy from these characters. Finding her feet, while also loving the snark from Scar and her men as well as they make appearances in this book. Definitely filled a lot more information about the larger villains in Shattered Chaos, and Deadly Chaos.
It is a Happily for Now, and I am very happy with how it was left. It is not the end of their story, but it helped build up more anticipation for the coming challenges that Scar, Jade, and the whole crew is looking out for in the next books.
Now you don't have to read the Steel Roses Series, but I think you will get more out of this one if you have.
The prologue of this book takes us back to when Scar rescues Jade, Rowan and Ryder. This is Jade's story, well a good part of it, as it's still intertwined with the other books. Jade has been training with Scar to not be vulnerable anymore. While the physical work has been challenging, it's really the psychological part that's even more of a challenge to overcome. Then there's also the bomb that Rachel dropped at the end of Deadly Chaos, she's Jade's sister. Scar is doing what she does, trying to establish the truth of that statement.
Ian and Holden are the two men she's been most comfortable with from the beginning. Ian gives her space but also protects her from others being too close when he sees she needs that. I really love him for that.
It's also Jade's birthday near the beginning of this book and I took great joy in reading as she baked a cake, she does however expect to celebrate alone. Then Ian shows up at her door.
Now the party for Jade also becomes a turning point of sorts in her friendship with Ian. He's falling for her, but that doesn't become apparent to him until he helps prevent Ciar from taking her away again.
Jade grows so much in this book and let me tell you the scenes are sizzling and sensuous. There's a lot of emotion pouring out of this book from many different angles.
Ian and Jade make such a great couple, but really Holden needs to be there too. She has such strong feelings for both of them.
I am waiting impatiently for Vicious Chaos the third Steel Roses book. I hope to see more of Jade's relationships there.
This book is not for the faint of heart. You will cry & you will be so messed up it hurts. When I say this book is a WILD emotional ride, I mean it.
Jade is very very damaged & messed up. She has suffered a traumatic past that has left her feeling like she is nothing but a shell. When she finds herself under the care of Ciar… she realizes quickly that he not only wants to use her but own/control every single piece of who she is. She feels utterly helpless & honestly I was freaked out at this point because I didn’t see how they’re could be a decent way to escape. What I didn’t see coming was Scar. Scar is basically Jade’s saving grace. She saves her & starts to help build Jade up into the fighting, strong young woman she deserves to be. I really enjoyed the character building that we got from Jade.
Then we get to meet the rest of the group: Dare, Ian & Holden. I won’t answer what type of “love/relationship” trope this is BUT just know that it’s perfect for this story. The point is for Jade to find herself & feel comfortable in her skin. Each of these characters helps out Jade back together in different ways, it’s so awesome to watch unfold. Jade finally gets to live FOR HER & learn that sex & pleasure can go hand and hand, that it’s not something to be afraid of.
I think the character development for this book was amazing. I got super emotional when I got to see Jade beginning to transform into this strong, confident woman. This book was done so well & this story was a journey!
Ma’am why the F you go and blow up my heart like that like seriously!!! I don’t even have words I mean I do they are very explicit and soooo not appropriate. I’m a fkn mess tears steaming down my face sobbing mess!
Be prepared to go on this wild ride with Jade, I freaking love her so much and seeing everything she went through reclaiming who she is and then her relationships! But why!!! I had all the damn feels! Lord help us to the spice in this book *fans self* some of the hottest sex scenes ever!! I seriously don’t not want to say too much because you need to experience this book in all its glory and go in blind. Every aspect of Jade’s story touched me in a different way. It was just amazing!!
While this is a standalone I would highly recommend reading Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos first so you fully immerse yourself in the world of chaos! I am so looking forward in getting more stories from other characters and more from this world. Sam’s writing and ability to make you feel what her characters feel is unmatched and no matter how many times you want to throw you device trust that she won’t do us dirty and there is a method to the madness that we may not see just yet.
Damaged & Deadly was so good. I love how unique the story was. And how you don't seeing certain things coming. What was explored so beautifully written and moved me to tears a few times. I love that Samatha goes there and tells this story. And doesn't spoil it with lables. I was glued to Jade's story and her journey as well as the other characters. I really love Jade finding herself, dealing with the evil from her past, and with relationships.
We get lots of Scar and the guys which was a delight and especially enjoyed Kade. I love their friendship. It was a beautiful story and beautifully written.
I thought this book was so brilliant and I just love that I didn't see where it was going and the journey took me on. Samantha words always have a way of resonating with me she always has a way of putting things I feel or think in two words. And I will say this book came at a time that was just right for me personally.
I don't want to give too much away I will say the author notes really helped and I look forward to reading more of the characters in in the future the A World of Chaos world. I truley just loved every part of this book so much. Highly recommend.
This is a stand alone but I strongly suggest that you read the books before this in this world.
Jade has been rescued from the men who bought her, but is she really free ? This is a story about collecting the broken pieces of yourself and figuring out how they fit together. They won’t be the same, but you can become another version of you. A stronger one. One that is a little bit psycho, one that pushes the broken innocence down so that you can’t be hurt as easily.
Ciar is still alive, looking for his prize, he owns her and he will get her back. Jade’s new family has taught her how to fight….but will it be enough?
I enjoyed the book once I hit 60%….it took me awhile it become invested in the characters because I don’t know their lives, their struggles, their love stories. Once I was well acquainted, I was able to follow and be invested. However, I highly suggest reading the other books in this world so that you can jump right into this. I don’t feel that this is a love story in the traditional form, but more a love story of Jade learning to love herself, to trust herself, and what she wants.
This blew me the heck away. Like how do the books in this world just get better and better and better.
This is a standalone - but I wouldn't read it before reading Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos. Getting thr full picture and chrono order makes this book SO damn good.
I loved Jade. I love her so much. She is such a fighter. That girl has been through more than most humans and instead of giving up, she is rebuilding a life she loves.
Jade goes through SO much in this book from finding out what the deal with Rachel is, running from Ciar, reclaiming her sexuality and finding herself.
Bave, Ballsy and HOT. It is SO flaming hot - like I had to take a breath. Samantha - I am DYING here at how spicy this book was. And I mean dying in all the best ways.
Samantha doesn't specify what kind of relationship(s) occur in this book and for good reason. And I loved going in blind and going on this ride WITH Jade. So I won't specify either - BUT what I will say, there ARE group activities, and the sex in this book is insanely hot. The relationships are both life affirming and heart breaking.
I loved seeing Scar & the guys, and Britt and crew. I love how BIG and unfinished this world is and how many stories are yet to be told. I am no where near ready to leave the world of Chaos.
What can I say about this book? It was amazing! This is a stand-alone in Samantha’s Steel Roses world. It focuses on Jade and her journey to reclaim her life after years of being held captive in the sex trafficking world. Ian is the main male character and he helps her on this journey of self discovery. Jade learns what love and family is for the first time ever. Her rescuers walk her through learning to defend herself, learning how to live in the real world and that being family means more than blood. Samantha is a new author and her books just suck you in keeping you engaged and needing to know what happens next.
Thank you so much Sam for the opportunity to read this as an ARC and get a sneak peek into Jade’s journey.
I’ve been curious about Jade since we met her in Shattered Chaos, but after that bombshell dropped in Deadly Chaos I NEEDED MORE. I loved seeing the World of Chaos, especially Scar and Jade, from her point of view. Even though some familiar faces popped up, this book was all about Jade and her journey. It’s hard to say much without giving up some spoilers, but I’ll say this: it was nothing I expected. Jade is raw, vulnerable, and somehow spectacularly strong. She’s a survivor. She’s just as deadly as she is damaged. We meet some new characters that I hope will continue to pop up in this world. It’s clear that Jade still has an important role to play in the future of this world and I can’t wait to see it.
I really only need one word to describe this book: WOW! There is however so much that I could say about this book. I went in completely blind and I’ve never been happier about that decision. I will say this book is not an easy breezy romance. There is a lot of pain and heartbreak but also love, understanding and growth. Jade is an amazing woman. She’s been through the deepest parts of hell and her demons still haunt her, but she refuses to let them drag her back down. She stands strong with those she has become a part of, monsters in their own right, but on her side. If you’re looking for a book that rips you apart and then puts you back together multiple times, this is for you. It is a tale like none other, and I can’t wait to see how this world develops even further!
Fabulous! I recommend that you read this before you read Vicious Chaos. It will give more understanding to Jade's story. Bring your tissues, there are sad points but there are lots of happy ones as well.
This gives an up close and personal look into Jade and everything that she goes through. Jade is a strong character, she doesn't feel like she belongs anywhere. Scar and the others that have turned family love her and lift her up to help her grow into her own person. Jade with the help of Ian learns to trust, and find out what kind of person she wants to become. The relationship that is growing between Jade and her bodyguard turned lover Ian, helps her understand that she is not a product of her circumstance.
I am looking forward to the other characters that deserve their own happy ending as well.
Another great layer in the World of Chaos. This was not the ending I was expecting and hoping for throughout the whole book. I was initially heartbroken by the ending but my love for Jade prevails and as long as she is happy, that’s all that matters! Watching her grow throughout this book has been one of my favorite character experiences. Jade has the ability to be vulnerable and strong, happy and sad and owns all of it and everything in between. She doesn’t let anyone over power her and always gets back up when she’s knocked down. I can’t wait to continue to watch Jade continue to grow throughout the rest of this series.
Samantha Bee has a way with telling a story that is addicting. I knew going into this that it didn’t have a HEA because Jade’s story is part of the Steel Roses world. It takes place between book two and three of that series. The author says this book is a HFN, but that’s something that we’ll just have to disagree on. This book made me have all the feels, and there were so many tears. My heart felt like it was torn out and stomped on alongside the characters. I still have hopes of what might happen for these characters in the overall storyline, but what I can say is that this is well-written, and it’s nearly impossible to put down once you pick it up. Just read with caution.
Being new to Ms.Bee's work I've been wanting to pick up her books for quite some time now. As soon as I found out about this book I knew i had to read it first! I really enjoyed this story!
Jade's journey had my attention from the get go! I wasn't sure what all to expect and I really liked that! I felt many different things throughout and I so enjoyed that!
With Damaged & Deadly, Ms.Bee has created such a great read! I can't wait to read more from her!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
While reading the first 2 books, I couldn't help but wonder about Jade. I am so excited she got her own story. This book is everything and more than i was hoping for. Samantha Bee is a writing genius!!! This book will also make you feel EVERY SINGLE EMOTION!!! It was amazing getting to follow Jade overcoming her past and finding herself. I just don't have enough words for how much I love this book. Getting some more of Scar and her guys was awesome too!! This book is just absolute brilliance and you gotta read it. I will keep reading anything Samantha Bee writes.
If you loved Scar… you will love Jade, but her story is a little more focused on her emotional and mental growth than Scar’s is. I’m going to say that I did not expect it to end the way it did and I’m kinda sad but… I get it. I will say that you should definitely read the note at the beginning of the book so you do not go into it with any expectations, or you may be disappointed. I’m being very vague because I think it makes the book all the more emotional with you not knowing what is going to happen and you are learning right along with Jade.
I got to the Foreword and there's a typo in the second paragraph already. There is also FF that is not put as a warning before reading this book. I don't feel this should be left out of the blurb and I can maybe understand how the author didn't want to explain relationship dynamics, but there should be a "this book contains ff scenes". I didn't want to read this book. I don't really care about Jade enough to need to read the rest of Scar's story. Especially not 400+ pages. So I skipped through most of this and labeled it a DNF.
Great story for Jade! While I really enjoyed the Chaos series, I'm glad Jade and Ian got their own story. Jade being able to overcome the horrors of her past and trust again was encouraging. Samantha's description of a not HEA, but a happily for now is perfect.
The Easter egg near the end of the book was a fantastic surprise. I'm still giddy over how that is going to evolve. Check out author GN Wright for more info.
I absolutely adore this book. I fell in love with Jade in Steel Roses series (yes you should read that series first) and wanted to know more about her. And just wow, Samantha Bee does not disappoint at all You will laugh, cry, yell, and fall in love. That ending though, not at all what I myself was wanting... but I will put my faith in you woman because dang it, my heart is on the line here. Oh and if I wasn't in love with one of Scar's guys before he just bumped himself straight to number one after reading this.
This is Jade's story. I loved seeing Jade go through the process of healing and taking back her power. I loved that Ian wasn't trying to cage her but loved her enough to help her heal herself and experience stuff. Nothing would make me happier if Ian, Jade, and Holden got their happy ending in whatever form Samantha wants to write, but I just want these characters to have happiness they deserve it.
Ahhh so I was little thrown with having to read this book in between the Steel Roses series, but now that I finished… ahhhhh. It was so good and it really is important to read it in the middle. I really like Jade and am so proud of her!!! I’m sad about Holden but also understand his position. They’re all in so much pain. Ughh I just wish something more was done about the vibes between Ian and Holden. There’s something there…
I made the mistake and took a break from the series for a bit, and it made it a little harder it get back into what is going on. Now tho there are more questions than ever before. Holden should be with Ian and Jade. It might turn out that Ian is his soul mate, and it all ties together. Jade ends up pregnant, by one of them, of course it will be a girl for the boys to fuss over just like they are with Roe right now. So many possibilcities.
I loved this book. I really liked Jade and I wanted to get to know her better after meeting her in Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos. You don't need to read those two book before this one but it helps a lot to understand some characters and Jade's past. I loved seeing how she became stronger and found who she should be. How she found her person who got her. That person was so perfect for her. Can't wait to read more books from this world.
An ARC was provided in exhange for an honest review.
