Each novel is the blueberry Beach Series can be read as a stand alone but there are overlapping characters and continuing stories.
Tiffany Grant grew up Blueberry Beach and has come back to fulfill a promise made to her two best friends in High School. She is now part owner in the Indigo Inn and helps out working the check in area. Tiffany has made lots of terrible choices in her life and after three failed marriages and not getting the settlement she expected after the third marriage ended, she is looking for a fresh start in Blueberry Beach. Tiffany has so many regrets about the way she lived her life and the secret sins nobody knows about. Wanting to make up for all of her past she decides to volunteer at the church for every program she can. What she didn't expect was her attraction to the pastor of the church.
Kane Burton is the pastor of the church in Blueberry Beach and everyone looks up to him. When he first meets Tiffany, he has no idea how to use her in the church. He can see something in her that reminds him of himself before he turned his life over to Christ. As she continues to show up each week for wherever he can use her- he cannot get her out of his mind. The people in the town want to see him get married and they think they have picked the perfect woman for him......but he thinks differently.
Tiffany and Pastor Kane have a lot more in common than either of them realizes. Will they be able to share the secrets of their individual pasts? Will Tiffany come to understand that it is good that she has a desire to help in the church but she doesn't need to pay for her sins?
This is another wonderful story of redemption with a fresh start. The people in Blueberry Beach are not perfect but as they have brought their past to the Lord they are forgiven and restored.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.
Story: 5 stars The story has some interesting extremes of life-styles and testifies of the power of Jesus to change hearts and empower repentance.
Kane is a wonderful pastor, who is kind and wise and does an excellent job of ministering to the residents of Blueberry Beach.
Tiffany has accepted Jesus, but feels she has to earn God’s forgiveness and throws herself into service opportunities with all her energy.
These two both have secrets in their pasts. They feel an undeniable attraction to and pull towards one another. However, Tiffany doesn’t feel worthy to be loved by someone as awesome as Pastor Kane and keeps pushing him away.
Only as he teaches her of the true redemption and forgiveness that Jesus offers, is she able to trust that she is worthy of her own happily ever after.
Ms. Gussman includes some shocking revelations about her characters in this story which added to its appeal, in this instance. I wouldn’t want that technique to be overused, but it made for some mental double-takes in regards to the two main characters and to the main characters of the next story!
This book lives up to it’s title. It is magical as well as wonderfully inspiring. This author always makes her characters true to life with traits, quirks and flaws that are very relatable. Kane and Tiffany are two such people. They both have pasts that they are not proud of, that did not bring happiness to them or to anyone else. The choice they both made to follow God’s guidance and the path He chose for them unexpectedly brings them together. Kane and Tiffany try to deny the sparks of attraction between them, and question even the possibility of being interested in each other. They seem so unsuitable for each other, too different to fashion any meaningful and lasting relationship between them, or at least they think so. As they interact with each other and accept God’s guidance, they discover so much more about each other, their own hearts and what loving someone entails. This story gives us all wonderful thoughts to ponder, to inspire and to employ in our own lives.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I must say that I enjoyed this book even though I had a few surprises. The female leading character returns to her hometown flat broke and repentant about the life we had lived since leaving. She lived a life that would have shocked the little old ladies in the church including being a call girl after having been dumped by the last man she had lived with, just to have enough money to get back to her hometown. As penance for all her sins, she signed up for every committee in the church. She and the current pastor had dated before she left town and had not lived a life you would expect of the clergy either. They worked together in day care that the church offered as well as on many committees.
I will not give away any more secrets but I will tell you that I was laughing at times. Now I just need to read the other books on my Kindle by Jessie Gussman. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
This latest audiobook of the series gives us two characters that are perfect in their imperfections. Tiffany Grant, part owner of the Indigo Inn, is back home needed a “re-set” in her life. TIffany left Blueberry Beach, never expecting to be returning penniless and full of regrets. Kane Burton, the local pastor, has a past he’s kept to himself. When Tiffany goes to the church to volunteer in any and every project available, Kane fears that she will bring back all he’s left behind. As a sort of friendship develops between them, we come to realize that they both have been seeking forgiveness and redemption. This is a story about second chances and overcoming one’s past. A reminder that God always leaves the door open for forgiveness, and that hope , and second chances in life and love are reachable. Not surprising, this was another thought provoking story in the series. As always, the narrator, Mr. Dyess, did a very good job with the voices.
I love a good redemption story and following Tiffany as she puts her new faith to work was a joy. She set her course determined to do what God wanted her to do, even though she had no clue. I could relate to her view of herself that she wasn’t quite good enough and somehow had to make herself better. In my own life I’ve found my greatest enemy is sometimes myself. Only when I’ve trusted God with “me” have things worked themselves out and changed how I see myself. Kane was perfect for her, having struggled with sin and become a pastor. He wasn’t going to jump into a relationship but trusted God to speak to him. The perfect guy for Tiffany. This was a wholly satisfying love story, that wasn’t rushed. I was given an ARC courtesy of the author and this is my honest opinion.
Never underestimate the power of love and forgiveness
Tiffany Grant is determined to change her life and make up for her past by helping others wherever she can. That includes volunteering at the church but it’s hard to believe that God wants her there and she feels that she is already off to a rocky start with Pastor Kane. If he finds out about her past he probably won’t want her there anyway.
Kane is surprised by how eager the young woman is to volunteer. The challenge is going to be matching her somewhat tenuous skills with a need. It’s nice having a willing volunteer but what he really would like is for God to bring him a wife.
This book is a wonderful addition to the Blueberry Beach series. The story came alive for me and I really wanted Tiffany and Kane to get together. I love this series! I received an advance copy of this book but my review is honest and voluntary.
Is there ever a time when our sin is so bad that we are beyond God’s forgiveness? Tiffany wasn’t sure but she was taking no chances as she set out to balance out the weight of her sins by doing good, volunteering for any jobs she could do at the church in Blueberry Beach. Pastor Kane was shocked when a woman just showed up at the church asking to be given volunteer work; it was usually hard to find volunteers. But as they work together, Tiffany resists growing close to Kane because she doesn’t want to divulge her secrets to this godly man that she feels unworthy of. Kane has his own secrets and although God has changed his life, he needs to be sure he is in God’s will before he acts on his own attraction. I was inspired by this story and its themes of forgiveness and redemption. Highly recommend! I received an ARC from the author and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
I love Pastor Kane and Tiffany's story. When Tiffany returns home to Blueberry Beach after her third divorce becomes final, she thinks she is there to help run the Inn that she is a 1/3 owner in. Once she reunites with her two best friends from High School, she sees their lives and determines that she is going back to church and is going to change her life for the better. Feeling that she needs to do many good works in order to assuage her guilt, she goes to church on a Monday morning and "volunteers" to help in anything Pastor Kane needs done. Pastor Kane is immediately attracted to Tiffany but given his past, he feels he needs to avoid her as much as possible. It seems God has other plans for both of them. A sweet story of how repentance and determination can totally change a person's life.
Kane and Tiffany both had past they were ashamed of, both of which most people act all put out and self-righteous as though the people that conducted themselves were lower humans. Unfortunately many of those types of attitudes are still active in all places around the world. Even though this is a story, it hits home to all of us. It's no wonder they both wanted to keep their past secret, but we're able to draw strength and comfort from each other and God. Almost feel this story should be required reading for school students. If I could give his book six stars I would. It's one of the best stories I've read in years to teach morals and lessons.
Tiffany Grant wanted to return to her hometown of Blueberry Beach in style – but a bunch of bad choices mean that she’s crawling back with barely a penny to her name.
At least her debts are paid off, even if she had to sell everything she owned to make that happen.
She has a lot of regrets and a lot of sins and secrets to make up for. So, the first thing she does when she arrives at Blueberry Beach is to stop at the church and volunteer for every program they have.
Kane Burton has a secret past of his own. No one expects their pastor to have been a male stripper.
God’s forgiven him, and his life has changed, but the members of his church in Blueberry Beach might not be so loving, so he’s kept everything he used to be a secret.
Until a woman from his past shows up. She could ruin everything if she recognizes him.
He could just move on, except he can understand what she’s going through better than anyone else. And how can he leave the woman he’s falling for?
Tiffany returned to Blueberry Beach determined to turn her life around. She was a new Christian but didn't really understand all that meant. She immediately went to the church to volunteer, thinking she needed to make up for all the bad she had done. Pastor Kane was surprised to not only have someone come in to volunteer but one willing to do anything and everything. How will Tiffany grow? Will her faith grow as well? Would she be ale to forgive herself for so many bad decisions? Wonderful illustration of how much God love's us and how He continues to work in our lives. Told with humor and compassion, this is a wonderful book.
Tiffany made a lot of wrong decisions before she became a Christian, and now that she's back at Blueberry Beach, she's desperate to volunteer at the church as much as she can to earn some forgiveness. Pastor Kane has worked hard to move past his past and is now certain that he's exactly where he's meant to be. He'd really love to have a wife to help him with his work, but she has to be the right sort of person - and the new girl in town isn't that, as she herself would agree. But as they spend more time together, he begins to doubt that conclusion. Can Tiffany accept that forgiveness is a gift, not something she has to earn? And when each reveals their past, will that be the end of all hope of a relationship?
It's been obvious from the last couple of books that Tiffany has a lot of baggage, and it's nice to see her actually able to begin unpacking and dealing with it. I enjoyed getting to know both her and Kane more, and the messages and nuggets of wisdom tucked in along the way really add to the story. Looking forward to Iva May's long-hinted-at secret being brought to light in book 8! Note that all books in this series can be read as standalone stories, though once you visit Blueberry Beach, you won't want to leave! Recommended.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
Another 5 star review for this deeply touching series. Some of the characters are "regulars" from earlier series, but with more emphasis on Tiffany, the last of the 3 girls that came back to open up the Inn following a tumultuous 18 years as her story unfolds. There were some very meaningful and touching moments in this book that kept it moving at a fast clip. As always, steeped in faith and redemption through God's Grace, but without having any "preachy" tone. The epilogue gives the reader a look into the next book of this series - which I am personally looking forward to reading.
I received an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest review, all opinions solely mine.
I found this book to be very thought provoking and inspirational. I liked that I could relate to some of the wisdom. I especially liked why forgiveness was so important. I enjoyed learning about Tiffany, the third owner of Indigo Inn. I liked that as I was reading I kept wanting to know more about her past. I also liked that Tiffany sparked interest in Pastor Kane as she volunteered at his church. This story surprised me in a good way and I really enjoyed reading it. I thought the epilogue was interesting too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Have you ever felt so far beyond God’s redemption that there was no hope and the only thing you could do was good work your way back into His path? This is Tiffany, how could the righteous, good looking preacher ever understand the depths she has fallen? This is very much a Christian redemption story with lots of theology. The theology is given gently and nonjudgmentally, as Jessie takes people who have made life choices totally at odds with traditional Christian values and shows that God’s grace is bigger than their own choices. There is also a sweet love story woven through it all I received this as an ARC, and am voluntarily giving a review.
In this story, Tiffany moves back to Blueberry Beach determined to make up for the indiscretions that she made in her youth and so she volunteers to help at the local church. The pastor, Kane Burton has secrets of his own. I enjoyed this story, not only because of the wonderful message of forgiveness that pervades it, but also because there are instances of humor that made me laugh out loud. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I recommend this book to others. Jay Dyess' narration is superlative and he adds to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
I absolutely loved this book by Jessie Gussman! I do think her title is a bit interesting though. Twilight is the time that light and darkness meet and battle for the sky and where darkness ultimately wins. The characters in this story had their own battles with light and darkness (spiritually) and light ultimately wins. This story is a confirmation that God can use anyone regardless of past transgressions. His grace and forgiveness is large enough to cover us all.
I listened to this on Audible and I cannot imagine anyone other than Jay Dyess narrating this series. He does such an excellent job!
I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Tiffany Grant returns to Blueberry beach to help run the Inn with her two friends. She has decided to make major changes in her life and wants to volunteer at the local church. Pastor Kane Burton isn’t quite sure what to do with her, but they become friends and her strengths begin to surface. A heartwarming story of redemption and forgiveness. Jessie Gussman always writes great stories and this is no exception.
So Good! Loved Kane and Tiffany"a story. Kane was ready for a wife and help-mate in his ministry. After making his request to God, the door of the church opened and in came a women wanting to volunteer for wherever she was needed. Tiffany had came back to her hometown with a heart of regret and determination to become what God wanted her to be. First stop, the local Church. I laughed and gasped throughout this book. If you like clean, heartfelt stories, 'Magical Twilight' will fit the bill. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
I have enjoyed every book in this series and this is no exception. A wonderful romance where God's will takes precedence, it is so refreshing to read a romance where the focus is on whether God wants them to be together looking towards marriage, instead of the desire of the individuals in question. The story illustrates Jesus redemption and the forgiveness that can be found in Him. A clean, stand alone book (approx 2-3hr read) with continuing characters from the series. * I received an ARC of the book for an honest and voluntary review.
Excellent story! This heartwarming story of Tiffany and Kane has so much of each of us in it. All the characters in this series are like real people, flaws and all. They are looking for guidance in their daily lives. Tiffany thinks she needs to volunteer a lot to atone for her sinful life. Pastor Kane guides her along the path of forgiveness from God and lets her know her sins have been paid for. Beautiful story! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
This was one of my favorite Blueberry Beach books. The characters-Kane and Tiffany were perfectly imperfect . . Really didn’t want it to end which I find happens every time I read a book in this series. The author Jessie Gussman had mixed feelings about writing this story which she mentioned in her reader chat, but, I must say she hit a home run and I don’t there another who could have written it with such eloquence. I highly recommend this book and author
This book really caught me off guard! A preacher and an ex- stripper falling for each other?? I just laughed and laughed at the funny ways the Lord led these two young sinners to come together to be a couple. And to have a complete family to adopt, too!! The Lord really does work in mysterious ways to fulfill His desires in people’s lives! This book is a testimony to that fact! You may cry, you definitely will laugh, quite often, and out loud!! But, rest assured, you will absolutely love this book!!
Pastor Kane and Tiffany Grant an unlikely match yes, but only God can make something beautiful out of colorful pasts. I love this story because the two main characters do not have lily white pasts but God changed their lives and now they have redemption. I love this book because it shows no matter your past God can change everything for the better, you are forgiven. This is such a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. Jessie Gussman has done an amazing job with this series and I can’t wait until the next book comes out in a July.
Kane and Tiffany crossed paths at a time neither one could have planned. It was God’s willl and His timing. This book series as been that to me. I wasn’t into this book at first but all the others had so much to say that I knew I would get there in this story too. I needed to be reminded that God loved me as I am and I need to let the guilt in/of the past go and not rob me of the changes God has for me and embrace his love for me. This has been balm for my soul. Thank you.
This is an overtly Christian story. We've met many of the characters in other books in the series, but the main characters are defined for the first time here. Wow. Fantastic characters with realistic insecurities, doubts, and unknown strengths.
There's some serious theology in this story, but it doesn't feel like you're being beaten over the head. It's all a conversation between characters and because we know their background it fits in nicely.
A brilliant and splendid story. Kane Burton has a secret a boy is it a good one! Tiffany Grant has come home and trying to turn her life around for Kane the problem she is she the lady for him. The characters in this one were outstanding. The story itself is very touching. How many of us have made bad decisions and had serious bumps in the road? This book showcased this in a brilliant way. It is a 5-star all the way. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Surprises galore! An awesomely wonderful book that really brings out the truth of God's love and acceptance. Tiffany feels she's too flawed - has too many sins - and that she needs to make up for them even though she'd given her life to Christ Jesus and been washed clean. Kane, a pastor, sees the beauty of her inner person. Two flawed people seeking God's will. I think this is one of Jessie's best books yet, and I've read a lot of her books!
Every time I listen to one of Jessie Gussman's books, I am able to take so much from her stories. Tiffany moving back and wanting to volunteer at the church. Kane is serving the lord and trying to figure out what a relationship as a pastor can be.
This story gives so much for a person to think about in their own life. You will not be disappointed by listening to this story. I did receive a copy and am providing my honest review.
