An Loch

Rate this book
This is the story of a couple – Ríte and Buach. They live beside a lough, the beautiful region of their ancestors. Ríte is a school mistress and Buach spends most of his time fishing on the lough. They had an easy life until Ríte fell ill. Now and again they have to leave the lake to visit the city and the hospital. The lough is their sanctuary, however, their favourite place to be.

Alongside the story of the people is also the story of the lough’s wildlife. Animals hunt and small creatures pay dearly when they don’t pay proper attention to the surrounding area. The lough will have its share of tragedies…

This book includes beautiful illustrations of the animals from the wildlife stories, illustrated by the artist Ciaraíoch.
