I think I know what Nai felt like in this series. My body is tethered to my office chair, but my spirit is off somewhere else, floating in the ether somewhere. I've been jonesing for the conclusion to this series for so long and now that I have finished the series I feel kind of adrift. I keep replaying scenes from the book in my head and I keep trying to find the words that I need to write this review. It's a bittersweet kind of stasis.
Stone and Wagner really brought their A game in this book. The plot was so exciting and twisty and I loved every moment of it. So many unexpected things happened in this book and I was on the edge of my seat trying to anticipate the next plot twist. This author duo really brought out the big guns with their clever plotting and excellent story dynamics. While our world makes an appearance in this series, I liked the original world apart from our own that dominated the story. The world-building was really extensive and I loved all of the details. The storytelling was lovely. I fell into the story straight away in the first book and felt so at home in the pages of each and every book. The narration was so warm and welcoming. These two authors really have a knack for writing together.
The characters are what really sealed the deal for me when I started reading this series. They are just everything! Each character has a distinct personality and an incredible voice. I absolutely loved the dynamics between the characters. These characters really pull on your heartstrings and make you feel a plethora of emotions. While this story centered on Nai and Rage, I really truly hope that the authors decide to continue on with a focus on other characters in the series. I would love to see their happily ever afters as well. I have become quite attached to these characters and it is hard to let them go.
The romance in this book was very satisfying. I don't want to get spoilery, but Nai and Rage do get their happily ever after. They fight hard for it and it is well deserved.
I loved everything about this book, but I did feel like the ending left a lot up in the air. We do get to see how things end for Nai and Rage, but we don't really get any concrete resolution for anything else. I would have loved to see the state of the world after everything happened at the end and I would especially have loved to see more resolution for the side characters. (My inquiring mind would especially like to know if Kaja and Honor get together.)
Overall, this was the perfect ending to an incredible series. This book truly pushed the envelope and ended on such a high note. I have such a book hangover right now and this is a series that is going to occupy my mind for quite some time. If you are a fan of interesting and complex fantasy worlds, characters that will conquer your heart, and storytelling that will blow your mind then this series is perfect for you! I am sending up my prayers to the gods that this author duo decides to grace us with more of these characters in the future!

Awww my sweet shifter heart 😍🥰. The finale for Nai and Rage's story is just absolutely perfect. I honestly, loved how Leia and Raye wrapped this world up. That ending...and how everything was fixed has my heart all happy. Couldn't have imagined it any better. My little inner self is totally happy crying right now. But there's plenty of sad tears too...coz I don't think I was even a little ready for it to end.
Gah, but seriously guys you are going to love this book. It will take you through all the emotions. A lot goes down in this book, that I can't really talk about without spoiling lol. But all you need to know is that it is EPIC and I honestly, loved how we finally got to see the different races working together against the arisen foe...that truly had my heart-melting. It was just written so amazingly. You see Nai try and balance the new challenges that are continually being thrown at her like a pro. I totally had proud mama moments lol. Her growth in herself and her ability to see the bigger picture is everything. Honestly, we see growth in so many of the characters. Relationships walking through the fire and surviving and coming out stronger like a phoenix. I can't say how much I loved the development of this story! The characters are everything. I totally want to spoil something but...I'm trying, I'm trying to keep it back. But all I will say is, thank the stars you fixed that thing I was totally not okay with...but that's all I'm gonna say...
Just know you will love everything that this book is. Everything. Even the craziness. It'll pull you in like nothing else. Like a moth to the flame, you'll be drawn in...and nothing will stop you from devouring it.
Quick summary of the book. Just when Nai thought a new balance would be found...the rug is pulled out from her once again. In a massive way. We know that Gramps and Reyna have come to get Nai, to put her name down as the Spirit Mage Heir. Trying to save the power from landing in the wrong hands, Nai sets off to High Mage Academy. But, of course, the High Mages aren't happy about this...and do whatever they can to derail their plans...and even want to destroy her bond with Rage *GASP!*. But she refuses to lose him, the person who is so entwined with her own soul.
With a new darkness taking over Shifter and Mage Island, no one is safe. And it's becoming harder to know who to trust. Nai needs to basically do a crash course in becoming the Spirit Mage because time is ticking and fast...and to survive what's up ahead, she will need every advantage she can get...but that also means knowing when she needs to lean on others.
"...but if we work together...We will not only win; we'll wipe out these monsters, once and for all."
This book is amazing and totally needs to be read. You truly won't be disappointed. If you've loved books 1-3 there is no reason you won't love this book! Time to unite all the races and fight for a new and brighter world. But first, let's raise a little hell aye.
Well done ladies! I loved this series so much! Thanks for taking me on this wild rush and for creating another series that claims my heart so completely. These characters will stay with me forever.

Gripping Ending to a Page-Turning Series!
This has been one of my most anticipated series’ ending so far this year, and Stone & Wagner did not disappoint! The cliffhanger from book 2 was epic and gut-wrenching, and after taking a slight detour telling Rage’s perspective in book 3, thankfully this story picks up right where 2/3 left off. My only complaint is that the timeline is a bit disorienting after we got the unplanned offshoot of book 3 with Rage’s story after Nai disappears. The world they’ve created in three books already continues to expand and bloom in recounting High Mage Island and focusing on Nai’s lessons she must learn to save those she loves. The characters have immense depth and are unique in their own ways. Though she's tough as nails, Reyna becomes one of my favorites. I love how the humor is sprinkled around throughout as well. There’s struggle, loss, inspiration, and hope all in this one final concluding story of Nail and Courage (though I really do hope the authors will decide to write spin-off’s of each of the brothers. This world has been truly fascinating, and I am sorry to see it end for now. Despite some moments of utter despair, this series finally gives you one epic happily ever after.

Midnight Truth is the final book in the Shifter Island series. The first book had me hooked. The second book was enjoyable but not quite as enjoyable as the first. The third was more of a bonus story that didn’t quite wow me. This final book was one that had me conflicted.
There were certainly plenty of interesting elements throughout this one, but things were far too easy. Everything happened quickly, which was great, but there were elements that needed a lot more attention than was given. I certainly enjoyed watching all the pieces come together, but the conclusion had me wishing there had been a little bit more from some aspects of the story. As with the rest of the series it was addictive, and worth reading if you’ve enjoyed the prior books, but I would have been happier with a bit more than what it gave.
All in all, this is worth the read if you’ve enjoyed the prior books in the series. It’s not the strongest conclusion I’ve ever read, but it was enjoyable.

I loved this series finale so much, but I'm also sad it's done now! Nai and Rage quickly became one of my favorite shifter pairs ever! I really loved how this book started off giving us Nai's POV on the time that passed during Rage's novella we got a short while ago. Let me tell you, as the book went on and I watched that percentage go up, I was so scared abut how things were going to end up, but this exceeded all my expectations! I truly hope we get to come back to this world to check in on the other brothers now that Nai and Rage have their HEA!

This story had me constantly questioning how tings were going to end for two of my faves.
I could not put this down once I started reading. I was so hooked and needing to know what was going to happen.
I would love if Leia revisits this world possibly with one of Rage’s brothers’ story.

Runs out of steam
I’m aware of how this review is titled and anyone who has even glimpsed/read any of the books in this series knows that action-packed is a severe understatement. However I stand by what I wrote, compared to the other books, this story is just falling short. I can’t pinpoint where exactly it is lacking, but I just feel like it wasn’t enough. The story ended and wrapped up quite a few plot lines with a nice and tidy bow, but I felt like there was quite a few things that was unanswered that the book kinda made a production of. The lack of resolution was off-putting.
What happened to Noble’s wolf? They made a big production of letting Honor get a new body AND he got to keep the wolf that wasn’t technically his to begin with. So he gets elemental powers, power to shift and a new body to boot.
Book 3 and a patroon of the beginning of this book was devoted to the reunification efforts of bringing Shifter Island back to what it once was and we didn’t learn anything about what happened after that last battle? Is it now a democracy? Did the lower mages get to move on to Mage Island are they being allowed to train/attend the Academy? Wasn’t the Jekko kid supposed to be in the dungeons for a month? This book legit couldn’t have been more than 2 weeks after the events in book 2, because it was NON-STOP. What gives?
They made a big reveal about the whole Mage/Shift contract but we still didn’t learn the details nor figure out if Rage and Demi got to rehash out a new one.
So the brothers were allowed to see the kids first and we only got mention of their grandmother… I nothing of Nai’s dad or what happened to him during/after the battle? Her “besties” one of which is technically her shield. Or her aunt and Donavan?
The list of questions that I have is still floating around my head. Like did they ever begin to train new healers after that last attack? Or is the healing elixir pretty much it now? So many questions that seemed integral to the story and now it’s just glossed over like these details weren’t worth revisiting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought it was an great ending to the series. Nai and her shield Honor followed her Grandfather and his shield Reyna through the portal to High Mage Island so Nai can be declared as high mage spirit heir, as her Grandfather is dy*ng and Nai needs to sign her name is the special book in by midnight and then pass her initiation with the other high mages to be eligible to becoming the her Grandfather heir. The other high mages wont make it easier on her, especially Kian as he wants her Grandfather’s as it’ll be transferred too him if Nai fails and he’s a complete power hungry a*sehole. Kian even tries to stop Nai from signing the book in time but her Grandfather and Reyna fake chest pains that acts as a distraction so Nai can get into the library to sign her name.
Her initiation consists of her using her powers to pass the test that each of the high mages give her. Her Grandfather warns her that since they don’t want her to get the power transferred to her their tests will be extremely hard but she throws everything she has at them and passes. The high mage of earth and her Grandfather are the only ones who do the proper test that all the other heirs went through and didn’t make it extra harder. While doing her Grandfather’s test she overhears Kian and the two other high mages that are against her arguing about making it too easy for her to pass their tests and that they know that her and Rage haven’t sealed their bond yet so they’ll destroy their bond before they can as they’re too powerful together as they don’t want Nai to be able to share their plans with the new AK and they hate that Rage is reuniting the all the shifters as they’ll become more powerful and the high mages are all about power.
I thought that it was pretty cool how the high mage heir of spirit learn to master their powers by going to the spirit realm and learning from their deceased ancestors. Her and Rage are reunited and Rage is hurt that she just left without telling him but fully understands that she has to go back and complete her training as Kian can’t get her Grandfather’s powers. Kian is in bed with the blood mages, that are basically vampires and betrays not only his people but the shifters as well, all because the blood mages agreed to basically make him a king but they can’t be trusted. After his betrayal it forces the mages and the shifters to finally work together to fight the blood mages as they need to be stopped once and for all.
This book was such an emotional roller coaster and thought that it wrapped up a lot of the plot points but I still have a few unanswered questions like is high mage island now open to all power level mages, do all the shifter animals have their own King like the wolves and the selkie’s, and if they do does that mean shifter island is a democracy with all the Kings working together in harmony and can Honor shift forms since his soul was transferred into julian’s body or was his wolf transferred back to it’s rightful owner Noble since he became human to bring his brother Honor back as a wolf. I wish the epilogue was a longer timeframe than a year, considering everything that happened during this book and that Nai and Rage have recently only become leaders. I’m not going to give the ending away since I’ve already spoilt enough of the book lol but when you read it you’ll understand what I mean. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.

Gelungenes Ende einer tollen Reihe!
Warum habe ich mich für das Buch entschieden?
Bereits mit dem ersten Band hat mich die Autorin in den Bann der Alphas gezogen und ich musste dringend wissen, wie es endet.

Das rote Cover mit den Mustern und den Wolfsymbolen an den Ecken ist wunderschön! Es passt perfekt zu den anderen Teilen und es ist mir wieder direkt ins Auge gesprungen. Man erkennt direkt, um welches Genre es sich handelt.
Inhalt:
Nachdem Nai Rage und seine Brüder kurzfristig verlassen musste, befindet sie sich in der Akademie der Hochmagier, um in die Fußstapfen ihres Großvaters zu schlüpfen. Doch es zieht eine Bedrohung heran, die nicht nur Shifter Island betrifft, sondern auch die Insel der Hochmagier.
Handlung und Thematik:
Die mitreißende Gestaltwandler-Dark Academia Romantasy geht in die letzte Runde. Das Worldbuilding und das Setting haben sich wieder etwas geändert, aber es ist noch genauso packend. Sowohl Fantasy- als auch Romance-Elemente sind wieder perfekt eingesetzt. Es gab unerwartete Wendungen und das Ende war rund. Ich bin traurig, dass es nun vorbei ist.
Charaktere:
Nai, Rage und die anderen konnten mich direkt wieder begeistern. Alle Charaktere entwickeln sich und ich bin immer noch begeistert, wie mich die Brüder und auch Nai in ihren Bann ziehen. Vor allem Nai steht vor vielen Herausforderungen, die sie wieder authentisch löst. Aber auch Rage, Justice, Noble und Honor entwickeln sich authentisch weiter. Ich mochte sie in Teil 1 direkt und dies hat sich nicht verändert. Die Dialoge, die Dynamik zwischen den Charakteren und auch wie unterschiedlich die Charaktere sind begeistert mich total. Auch die Nebencharaktere haben die notwendige Tiefe. Ich bin traurig, dass wir nun Abschied nehmen müssen.

Bereits mit dem ersten Band hat mich die Autorin in den Bann der Alphas gezogen und ich musste dringend wissen, wie es endet.

Das rote Cover mit den Mustern und den Wolfsymbolen an den Ecken ist wunderschön! Es passt perfekt zu den anderen Teilen und es ist mir wieder direkt ins Auge gesprungen. Man erkennt direkt, um welches Genre es sich handelt.
Inhalt:
Nachdem Nai Rage und seine Brüder kurzfristig verlassen musste, befindet sie sich in der Akademie der Hochmagier, um in die Fußstapfen ihres Großvaters zu schlüpfen. Doch es zieht eine Bedrohung heran, die nicht nur Shifter Island betrifft, sondern auch die Insel der Hochmagier.
Handlung und Thematik:
Die mitreißende Gestaltwandler-Dark Academia Romantasy geht in die letzte Runde. Das Worldbuilding und das Setting haben sich wieder etwas geändert, aber es ist noch genauso packend. Sowohl Fantasy- als auch Romance-Elemente sind wieder perfekt eingesetzt. Es gab unerwartete Wendungen und das Ende war rund. Ich bin traurig, dass es nun vorbei ist.
Charaktere:
Nai, Rage und die anderen konnten mich direkt wieder begeistern. Alle Charaktere entwickeln sich und ich bin immer noch begeistert, wie mich die Brüder und auch Nai in ihren Bann ziehen. Ein ausgezeichneter Abschluss für die Reihe mit vielen spannenden Wendungen
Der dritte Band der Reihe knöpft nahtlos an den vorigen Band an, in welchem Nai ihren Großvater auf die Hochmagierinsel begleitet. Die High Mage Academy ist völlig anders als Nai es sich vorgestellt hat und möchte am liebsten direkt wieder zurück nach Shifter Island zu Rage gehen, zuvor muss sie allerdings lernen das Geistelement zu beherrschen. Als dann jedoch ihr zu Hause und die Hochmagierinsel bedroht werden, müssen sich Gestaltwandler und Hochmagier zusammentun, um für ihr Zuhause zu kämpfen. Nai ist sich dadurch nicht sicher, wem sie vertrauen kann und wer wirklich auf ihrer Seite steht …
Die Umsetzung:
Ich war richtig gespannt auf den finalen Band der Reihe und der Schreibstil ist auf jeden Fall wie in den letzten Bändern sehr gut gewesen, einfach gehalten aber trotzdem bildlich, sodass man sich perfekt in die Welt hineinversetzen kann. Ich fand es sehr schade, dass das Academy-Feeling wie in den ersten beiden Büchern der Reihe, auf der High Mage Academy nicht wirklich gegeben war.
Die Thematik mit der Hochmagierinsel und dem Geistwandeln, die in diesem Band dazugekommen sind, finde ich super spannend und die Haupt Storyline fand ich zudem sehr gut gelöst, denn Nai und Rage wurden erstmal eine Weile getrennt dadurch, dass Nai auf der Hochmagierinsel ihre neuen Kräfte erlernen muss. Auf dieser passierten super viele interessante Sachen und es gab spannende Wendungen ebenso wie neue Freunde und Feinde.
Das Buch ist ein sehr gelungener Abschluss für die Reihe, da alle ungelösten Fragen mittlerweile aufgelöst worden sind und die Probleme, welche alle am Anfang der Reihe deutlich waren, gelöst worden sind. Wie die Geschichten mancher Nebencharaktere ausgegangen sind, fand ich allerdings etwas schade, da ich mir da vielleicht ein bisschen etwas anderes erhofft hatte.
Zum Abschluss der Reihe möchte ich auch noch sagen, dass ich sie sehr gerne gelesen habe, aber auch sagen muss, dass ich schon bessere Reihen in diese Richtung gelesen habe.

Ein magisches Finale
Mit "Der Geist des Magiers" schließen Leia Stone und Raye Wagner ihre Shifter-Island-Reihe auf beeindruckende Weise ab. Der dritte Band knüpft nahtlos an die Ereignisse der vorherigen Bücher an und führt Nais Geschichte zu einem befriedigenden Ende.
Was mich besonders überzeugt hat, ist der flüssige Schreibstil des Autorenduos. Die Geschichte liest sich wie aus einem Guss, die Kapitel fließen mühelos ineinander über, und man findet sich sofort wieder in der faszinierenden Welt der Gestaltwandler und Magier zurecht. Auch nach einer Lesepause war es für mich kein Problem, direkt wieder in die Handlung einzutauchen.
Die Charakterentwicklung von Nai und Rage wird konsequent weitergeführt. Beide müssen schwierige Entscheidungen treffen und über sich hinauswachsen. Ich habe mit den Protagonisten mitgefiebert, gelitten und mich über jeden kleinen Sieg gefreut. „Shifter Island – Der Geist des Magiers“ ist der dritte und finale Band der romantischen Shapeshifter Trilogie von Leia Stone und Raye Wagner.
Eigentlich müsste Nai jetzt am Ziel ihrer Wünsche sein, aber mit der Krönung ihres Gefährten und dem Sieg über den alten Herrscher fangen die Probleme scheinbar erst an. Ihr Großvater benötigt dringend ihre Hilfe und ruft Nai an die Akademie der Hochmagier, damit sie offiziell als seine Erbin akzeptiert wird. Ansonsten würde seine Macht nach seinem Tod an die übrigen Hochmagier fallen, die eindeutig nicht auf Nais Seite sind. Dafür muss Nai jedoch ihren Gefährten Rage erst einmal verlassen, was dieser alles andere als entspannt aufnimmt. Shifter Island und High Magic Island stehen durch den Machtwechsel vor einer harten Zerreißprobe und auch Nai muss ich fragen, wem sie vertrauen kann und wer auf ihrer Seite steht.
Die mitreißende Fantasy steuert mit diesem dritten Teil auf den Showdown zu und obwohl Rage jetzt König ist, sind die Machtverhältnisse insgesamt sehr fragil. Im Fokus ist und bleibt Nai, was die übrigen Charaktere, und vor allem ihren Gefährten Rage, manchmal ein wenig blass erscheinen lässt.
Nai muss eine Brücke zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft bauen und gleichzeitig ihren eigenen Weg finden. Dies ist jedoch äußerst schwierig, denn sie ist hin- und hergerissen zwischen ihren beiden Abstammungen als Wölfin und als Hochmagierin. Rage macht diese Situation nicht einfacher, denn auch er steht unter massivem Druck.
Es bleibt also spannend, da alte und neue Widersacher und Gefahren quasi an jeder Ecke warten. Im Finale gibt es jede Menge Überraschungen und natürlich wird es auch humorvoll und romantisch. Von den Nebencharakteren sind die Harvest Girls meine Lieblinge, aber auch die königlichen Brüder sorgen für großartige Momente.

Nai und Rage, die bereits in den vorherigen Bänden mit ihrem Mut und ihrer Entschlossenheit überzeugen konnten, stehen erneut vor gewaltigen Herausforderungen, die nicht nur ihr eigenes Schicksal, sondern auch das ihrer Welten bestimmen. Während Nai auf der Insel der Hochmagier den Platz ihres Großvaters einnimmt, entfaltet sich eine faszinierende Geschichte um Macht, Intrigen und Magie. Besonders spannend ist dabei die wachsende Kluft zwischen ihr und den anderen Magiererben, die ihren Anspruch nicht kampflos akzeptieren. Gleichzeitig kämpft Rage als frisch gekrönter Alpha-König darum, seine Gestaltwandler zu vereinen und den blutigen Angriffen der Blutmagier standzuhalten.
Die Charakterentwicklung steht im finalen Band klar im Mittelpunkt. Nai wird stärker, mutiger und bewusster über ihre Bestimmung, während Rage lernt, Verantwortung mit Herz und Verstand zu tragen. Spoilerfrei für gesamte Reihe
Nachdem mir das Ende von Band 2 nicht so zugesagt hatte, hat mich die Kurzgeschichte (Teil 2.5) milder gestimmt. Dadurch konnte ich besser in Band 3 starten, auch wenn ich Nai’s Verhalten immer noch sehr naiv fand. Der Schreibstil des Autorenduos gefällt mir total gut und auch wenn die Geschichte kein Meisterwerk ist, hat sie auf mich eine echte Sogwirkung. Die Shapeshifter Thematik, die Magie und der Fated-Mates Trope haben mir total gefallen und mich an die Bücher erinnert, die ich früher viel gelesen habe.
Es war schön wieder zu den verschiedenen Charakteren zurückzukehren und neue (besonders Donovan) lieben zu lernen. Der Found Family Trope ist für mich hier einfach toll umgesetzt. Wobei ich gerne mehr von den Midnight-Brüdern und den Harvest-Mädchen gesehen hätte. Leider hat Nai’s Entscheidung aus Band 2 einen Schatten auf die Beziehung zu ihrem Gefährten geworden. Ich fand es sehr schade, dass deren Beziehung in diesem Teil in den Hintergrund abgerutscht ist und dann meist nur negativ hervorgetreten ist. Ein bisschen mehr Kommunikation hätte den Beiden nicht geschadet.
Die Story ist wieder spannend und actionreich und man lernt die Welt noch mehr kennen. Den Twist in der Mitte des Buches habe ich nicht kommen sehen. Ich mochte ihn sehr gerne, aber hätte es besser gefunden, wenn er etwas mehr Platz eingenommen hätte. Für meinen Geschmack wurde das ganze dann zu einfach gelöst. Es gab zwar viele Verluste in dem Prozess, aber alle bekannten Charaktere sind eigentlich unbeschadet davon gekommen, was es für mich etwas unrealistisch gemacht hat.
Am Ende gibt es dann noch einen Ausblick, wie es ein Jahr später aussieht. Ich liebe sowas sehr, hätte mir dann jedoch noch mehr Details gewünscht.
Fazit: Eine schöne Jugendbuch-Reihe, in der man sich leicht verlieren kann, um so ein wenig die Realität zu vergessen.

Dadurch konnte ich besser in Band 3 starten, auch wenn ich Nai’s Verhalten immer noch sehr naiv fand. Der Schreibstil des Autorenduos gefällt mir total gut und auch wenn die Geschichte kein Meisterwerk ist, hat sie auf mich eine echte Sogwirkung. Die Shapeshifter Thematik, die Magie und der Fated-Mates Trope haben mir total gefallen und mich an die Bücher erinnert, die ich früher viel gelesen habe.
Es war schön wieder zu den verschiedenen Charakteren zurückzukehren und neue (besonders Donovan) lieben zu lernen. Der Found Family Trope ist für mich hier einfach toll umgesetzt. Wobei ich gerne mehr von den Midnight-Brüdern und den Harvest-Mädchen gesehen hätte. Leider hat Nai’s Entscheidung aus Band 2 einen Schatten auf die Beziehung zu ihrem Gefährten geworden. Ich fand es sehr schade, dass deren Beziehung in diesem Teil in den Hintergrund abgerutscht ist und dann meist nur negativ hervorgetreten ist. Ein bisschen mehr Kommunikation hätte den Beiden nicht geschadet.
Die Story ist wieder spannend und actionreich und man lernt die Welt noch mehr kennen. Den Twist in der Mitte des Buches habe ich nicht kommen sehen. Ich mochte ihn sehr gerne, aber hätte es besser gefunden, wenn er etwas mehr Platz eingenommen hätte. Für meinen Geschmack wurde das ganze dann zu einfach gelöst. Es gab zwar viele Verluste in dem Prozess, aber alle bekannten Charaktere sind eigentlich unbeschadet davon gekommen, was es für mich etwas unrealistisch gemacht hat.
Am Ende gibt es dann noch einen Ausblick, wie es ein Jahr später aussieht. Ich liebe sowas sehr, hätte mir dann jedoch noch mehr Details gewünscht.
Fazit: Eine schöne Jugendbuch-Reihe, in der man sich leicht verlieren kann, um so ein wenig die Realität zu vergessen.

Wow, wow, oh WOW!!! This is the highly anticipated conclusion to Rage and Nai’s story. Things pick up right where “Midnight Lies” ends with Nai and Honor follow her grandfather through the door to go to the High Mage realm, leaving behind Rage, Justice and Noble. So if you haven’t read the previous books in this series stop right now and pick them up before reading this book.
Nai and Rage have had to face one challenge after another since the moment that Nai was summoned to attend the Alpha Academy. But this is their biggest challenge yet. Rage has just been crowned Alpha King and now his mate has gone. But trying to get his mate is only one of the issues he has to face. While Nai has to learn how to use Spirit, but time is running out as her grandfathers dying and Nai needs to be recognised as his Heir or spirit will be spread between the rest of the High Mages and that can never happen.
I have loved this series the characters have been enjoyable to watch grow and come into themselves, the world is magical and the storyline is addictive and entertaining. I devoured this book in one sitting, I was hooked on each and every word, turning each page with anticipation.
I am so over the moon with how things worked out and I loved and and every word. But that epilogue was just pure perfection and I can just see the Midnight Brothers being whipped and putty.
Thank you Ms Stone for bringing us this wonderful series, I do hope that in the future we may get to see Justice, Noble and Honor get their stories told.

Tbh this last book from the series from me is a bit disappointing. I expected there would be more romance, nor battle throughout the story. Butttt with Nai's having various abilities, makes me feel a bit fun to read with her characters, yet her bond with Rage's is finally sealed. I'm so happyyy.

Let's talk about Nai having to move to the High Mage Island to complete her task as a heir from her grandpa, for me I wish Nai got to stay with Rage and hope to have a bit of a story between them both together and with his brothers. Nevertheless, I still liked how she has a strong humanity, believes in herself. Seeing her life explored the otherworld. Ideally, with the blood mage involved, I like it though - but not really that much. The blood mage characters somehow came out of nowhere which makes me a bit confused with it.

Okay, jump forward to Reyna, her characters literally impressed me so badd being Nai's shield before the battle is not what I am expecting. She wanted to protect Nai and she did, then she died to protect her. I cried for a bit - my heart stopped completely like NOO... I can't get over it though. Andddd with Honor, being transformed back to the human body which is what I AM SO FREAKIN HAPPYYYYY. He is the guy that I basically fell in love with. I like how his personality is, quiet but deep down temporarily cared for. I just can't stop smiling when Honor doesn't have to be stuck in the wolf form anymore, I-I can't stop smilinggg. Yep, Honor is my favourite character now, and I am satisfied with the scenes of Honor.

Enemy to Lover/Shifter-Mage/College
SYNOPSIS (4 Book Series): FC is the daughter of an alpha of a pack that has been outcast due to her father breaking the shifter law. All shifters are ruled by the Alpha King in conjunction with the Mages (who have power over the different elements). The FC is called to Shifter Island and the Academy for training as all wolves are. There she finds her fated mate and discovers that she is not just a wolf. Initially the FC and MC do not get on and the MC rejects. The MC and his 3 brothers are all nephews of the Alpha king and his heirs. As the story evolves the MC & FC get together and discover that all is not as it seems with the King and the Mages and the FC finds out more about herself and her abilities. Book 4 has a final showdown and a HEA.
Book 1 started strong with a good story line and strong, likeable characters. The required BFF that the FC meets within 5 minutes of joining the Academy and the hot MC and his brothers who are the elites of the Academy follow a predictable pattern as does the FC with the „hard done by“ back story. These all set the groundwork for the developing story. Unfortunately for me the story and writing started to devolve from Book 2 where I found the writing and character of the FC to be juvenile, the dialogue and terminology also to be juvenile. The sudden caving of the MC and his immediate adoration of the FC felt too fast and OTT. I am a big fan of Leah Stone but I feel that this set of books had more of the other author as the writing, dialogue and story were not of the level I expect from LS‘ books.
Whilst enjoyable enough the story followed a predicable path with the FC becoming some super mage/shifter. The way that the Alpha king kept managing to escape his comeuppance was frustratingly manufactured to drag things out and everything seemed to be too simple when it came to the FC/MC winning various battles. I was skim reading by book 3 just to get through the series.
If you are looking for something low level enjoyable with no real surprises then this is a series for you.

Ich habe Band 2 und 3 fast in einem Rutsch durchgelesen. Die komplette Geschichte konnte mich unglaublich gut fesseln. Was mir jedoch schon in Band 2 gefehlt hat, war dieser Romance-Anteil und schlicht - mehr Seiten. Es geht alles viel zu schnell, und zwischen den Kapiteln fehlen mir fast immer 20–30 Seiten oder eben ein ganzes Kapitel, weil einfach alles zu schnell geht. In Band 3 verliert sich alles noch mehr, obwohl es wirklich sehr spannend ist. Man fliegt nur so durch die Seiten und kann das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen. Aber als Leser bekommt man einfach keine Verschnaufpause. Also, wer Action haben will, ist hier genau richtig. Ich liebe die Autorin, ich liebe ihren Charme, ich liebe ihren Witz und den Sarkasmus, den die Protagonistin ausstrahlt. Aber ab Band zwei haben mir die Boys unglaublich gefehlt und man bekommt einfach nicht genug von allen anderen Charakteren mit. Dadurch hat mir die Tiefe der Charaktere, der Satire etwas gefehlt. Ich habe mitgefiebert, mitgeweint und am Schluss bekommen wir einen schönen, aber mit fünf Seiten einfach zu kurzen Epilog. Ich glaube, so geht es uns allen, wenn ein Buch uns wirklich mitnimmt, wenn uns eine Geschichte wirklich fesselt und gefällt, wenn wir mit den Protagonisten mitleiden und die Charaktere einfach alle lieben und interessant finden, dann wollen wir doch einfach alle etwas mehr! Oder?
Alles in allem ist diese Reihe unglaublich gut. Nur hätten Band 2 und 3 jeweils 100 bis 200 Seiten mehr vertragen können. Ich habe mit einem lachenden und einem weinenden Auge das Ende erreicht. Mein Happy-End-Herz ist zufrieden, aber irgendwie doch unbefriedigt. 🤣😭🤣 Wieso ist es schon vorbei?

Nai lernt auf der Akademie der Hochmagier, den Platz ihres Großvaters einzunehmen. Dabei läuft aber nicht alles friedlich ab und sie muss sich einigen Gefahren stellen. Doch die größte Gefahr steht den Gestaltwandlern und den Magiern noch bevor. Sie werden von dunklen Mächten angegriffen und müssen um ihre Heimat und ihr Leben kämpfen.
Nai macht im Verlauf der Reihe, insbesondere aber in diesem Teil, eine gute Entwicklung durch. Sie wird mutiger und selbstsicherer und weiß, wofür sie kämpfen will. Auch Rage wächst über sich hinaus. Als König hat er eine große Verantwortung den Gestaltwandlern gegenüber und er möchte alles richtig machen.
Die Geschichte hat mich gut unterhalten. Man lernt hier mehr über die Magier, was mir gut gefallen hat. Vor allem Nais Magie ist interessant, aber auch die der anderen Elementarmagier wurde gut dargestellt. Ebenfalls gut umgesetzt wurde die Schlacht. Man hat mit den Protagonisten mitgefiebert und mitgebangt.
Der Schreibstil des Duos ist mitreißend. Da in der Geschichte immer etwas passiert ist, ist auch immer ein gewisses Maß an Spannung vorhanden gewesen, weshalb man schnell und leicht durch die Geschichte gekommen ist.
Das Cover ergänzt die Reihe gut und farblich gefällt es mir auch.
Ich kann das Buch und die Reihe jedem empfehlen, der sich für Gestaltwandler und Magier interessiert, sowie für eine gut umgesetzte Welt. Die Geschichte überzeugt ebenfalls mit dem schnellen Tempo und den Wendungen, weshalb es nicht an Spannung fehlt. Auch sind die Protagonisten symphatisch und sie machen gute Entwicklungen durch.

Mit „Der Geist des Magiers“ endet die Shifter Island-Reihe von Leia Stone und Raye Wagner – und das mit einem spannenden, emotionalen und stimmigen Abschluss. Da die Bücher aufeinander aufbauen, empfehle ich, die Reihe in der richtigen Reihenfolge zu lesen.
Der dritte Band knüpft nahtlos an die Ereignisse des zweiten Teils an und wirft einen direkt zurück ins Geschehen. Die Handlung wird wieder aus der Perspektive von Nai erzählt, die in der letzten Zeit enorm viel durchmachen musste. Umso berührender ist es zu sehen, wie sie nicht allein bleibt – sondern von ihren Freunden begleitet wird, die mit ihr gemeinsam für eine bessere Zukunft kämpfen.
Die Dynamik zwischen den Figuren, die Magie, die politischen Spannungen – all das fügt sich zum Ende hin wunderbar zusammen. Besonders schön war für mich zu beobachten, wie sich viele offene Fäden logisch und gefühlvoll verknüpfen. Das Finale hat mich komplett abgeholt, und der Epilog war das Tüpfelchen auf dem i – ein echter Wohlfühlmoment zum Abschluss.

Great ending that I didn't want to stop!
Leia & Raye please consider doing a spinoff of this series!!! I want to see what happens next. How they put their 2 worlds back together again? Not to mention if Honor has any new side affects after what happens. I won't mention the other big thing involving the number 4.
This book was fantastic! I almost cried when Grandpa died, I'm only mentioning it because we knew he was going to. So many people died from fighting. We knew the mages & shifters were going to come to blows at some point. However, I didn't see one person turning against everyone for a chance to share power. I absolutely loved the way the mages went to school. Talk about homeschooling! It was such a new & fresh idea. I'm totally jealous that they can spirit walk & visit loved ones that have died. The Harvest family is incredible! What those girls do with the possibility of dying is so noble & honorable. I was proud of Julian because he finally did something brave! And in the end Nai leaned a lot in a short amount of time. She really had a great idea on how to defeat the Queen & Princess.

Midnight Truth continues the tale of Nai, the destined mate of the newly crowned Alpha king, Rage. Born as a part wolf-shifter and spirit high mage, Nai is an abomination hated by the high mage council, and until she inherits the spirit magic, she will have challenging days ahead of her.
This last book brings us some epic actions never before read from the previous books. If you think fighting the old King Declan was tough, this will let you sit on the edge of your seat, for Nai will take you to a whirlwind of emotions - pride, inspiration, fear, love, sadness and happiness. She will show you her newly learnt magic, kick some evil asses, have teary reunions, and save the day. So, fasten your seatbelt and ride along.

The conclusion is almost perfect for everyone, but I feel gutted for Noble as he lost his wolf forever to Honor, even after the successful transition. This book was just annoying
MFC was on my last nerve the entire book. Her inability to focus on anything for more than half a second was just too much. That whole thing got old in the second book. It was too over used.
She cried constantly in this one.
Her return to Rage after her trials was so over the top.
The non stop, useless, mind numbing internal dialogue was just too much. I skimmed through much of it.
She was the spirit mage, yet earlier she was super strong in all the elements. Then they were only strong a couple times. The other heirs only commanded one element. So why was she just the spirit?
Her actions and reactions after the trials were just a bunch of WTF. She suddenly had an inability to complete a sentence or even speak at all? Everything she needed to say were just the most simple of things, yet she suddenly couldn’t because she spent one night and one day away from Rage? She was suddenly unable to function because of it? FFS.
Basically this one got on my nerves about 1000.9% of the time.
What happened to these books? The first one was quite enjoyable. The rest were plain torture.
