This is a book that was given to me by a dear friend. Over the years, I have read it a few times and am currently re-reading it. Not only does Maria show the struggle between the pull of the flesh and the will of the Spirit that many who are called into ministry experience, she also shares a great many detailed sketches of what she and others experienced over the first fourteen years of her ministry--it was nothing other than signs, wonders, miracles and healings. To God be the glory.

This is a diary and historical account of the author's ministry. She was a woman working in a "man's world" at what she was lead to do. THe success of her ministry is quite astounding. She writes without pretense or hype and the book is still applicable for today.

As I read this book again my heart and soul is stirred to see the glory of God, to know him and be apart of the work of his kingdom. Everything else in this world seems vain. Like the man that found the pearl, I have found more than just a book.

I am not sure I agree with her theological beliefs, but noone can deny that Mrs. Etter was wonderfully used by God.

inspiring read! A few portions seemed to be repeated in the book but a worthy read for sure.
