「無腔曲」語出張岱〈西湖七月半〉，本形容到西湖賞月的俗人喧鬧唱歌。覺得這意像可愛，一七年底要為《蘋果日報》專欄改名便借用，寫了兩年多，共選五十二篇編成一冊，順道再借用成書名。

這段日子香港的艱難大家心裡明白，眼見分崩離析，也寫了些驪歌和呢喃。

承前作《積風集》（獲香港文學雙年奬）、《積風二集》及《積風三集》，《無腔曲》是這基礎上的新嘗試，希望尋找更自如的聲音。
