It’s getting harder to keep magic hidden from the mundane population of Los Angeles.
Good thing Lucy Heron and the Silver Griffins are working overtime to keep it a secret.
Will it be enough?
More magicals are flexing their powers. Nuada Industries’ magical owner is trying to take out the competitors so he can grow his business. But something’s off about Finn Nuada.
There’s something hinky about what he’s doing.
Meanwhile, the younger Herons have their own battle. The Underfoot Brigade have been finding ancient Tolderai sites. Will their discoveries help or hurt the Tolderai?
But wait, there’s more. A string of magical murders will raise an alarm. Can Lucy, Jackie, and the Silver Griffins prove who is behind it and shut it down before more are killed?
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
This story was jam-packed with plots, and new characters, and was a joy to read.
But, while Lucy and her family are still enjoying their Art days, which help to keep them together as a family, both Lucy, and Jackie, are being called into work more often, as a spate of murders, dealing with Light Magic, begin to start happening around L.A.
Between these mysterious murders, and the Tolderai tribe behaving badly, both to each other, and to those around them, and then Ellis being asked to do something bordering on the unlawful, by a trusted senior Silver Griffiths, a new Company, owned and run by the famous Finn Nuada, moves to LA, and starts moving in on other Companies, who deal with similar Magic Tech, to do with Solar Light.
Lucy and Jackie are now run off their feet, and trying their best to deal with all the resultant flack that's resulted from so many things happening at once.
But it's going to take all of Lucy's friends, gathering together, to build up the evidence they need, to stop Nuada Industries from creating even more trouble!
This was a great book - although I have to confess to being rather tired of young Eddie, with him constantly getting away with using his chameleon magic so very often, and in totally inappropriate places, despite constant warnings - is it me, or is that kid spoilt rotten? Lol
I don't really know, but I'm off to read the final book in this series: book eight: 'A Mom, A Wand, and A Mission'!
So, I'll read this last book, then I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of this final book, and the series as a whole!
Per usual Eddie really needed dome disciplining. If the stuff of these books could happen in real life the *ahem “child” (I would say a different word, but nowadays it is considered rude) would have already hurt someone. The other thing that really irked me is a new character named Jill. She is a police detective who smokes. That is fine, however both times we meet her she is contaminating the scene with her butts. Any military person who has ever been put on “butt patrol” knows to put that crap in your pocket if there isn’t a trash can available. She would be the same. I know TV and movies seem to not get that. It isn’t hard to understand. You do NOT leave anything if you can help it. The bad guy here was a Musk-like creature of light. The only thing missing was a rich daddy who gave you a company to play with. There also seemed to be a missing part with Jackie’s uncle. Was he part of the cover-up or not? Willing or otherwise there should have been a scene clearing that up.
I highly recommend this imaginative book, and the series associated with it, to readers, (of most ages), who love reading excellent Urban Fantasy. The Heron family are kicking butt and dominating their fields of interest. If these books only had little Eddie's character, I would buy them as soon as they're on the market. I'd love this see the inspiring Heron children characters in children's books. Enjoy!
Lucy and the Silver Griffins are on another hot case. This one involves light magic and meanwhile her friends and some of the Underfoots are dealing with some nature magic. I really love this series and the way Lucy's family and her friends are always entwined in the action. There is always plenty of magic, action and humor in the books and I always look forward to the next one.
Mom is fighting a battle against a foe that is blackmailing the upper management of who she works for. It is up to her and other agents and friends to put a stop to this foe. I love reading about her and her families adventures.
This Series is great. Lucy, mom has 3 children that are incredible in their own way. Lucy also is a Silver Griffin that protects humans from bad magical and this a very bad man. Read to find out!
Once again, the wonderfully talented and sweet biscuit baking mom triumphs over evildoers. These books are well developed with characters and highjinks by all ages.
Ambição desmedida pode ser perigosa também para seres mágicos. É o que nos diz este livro, que nos fala também do perigo da lealdade cega. Tudo recheado de comidas deliciosas.
As with all the books in this series, this one was a keeper. The main characters are quite interesting, endearing, and fun. The plot is easily followed and the story is a good one. The action snares the reader and the story keeps the reader interested. I definitely recommend this book.
