The Mystery at Ebey's Landing (Weirdbey Island #4) by Eldritch Black
I was gifted the Audible version but the review is my own opinion. I have loved every one of these delightfully funny and adventurous middle grade books! I may not be middle grade but I love a great story and finding books for the grandkids.
These books are so on point for that age group! Adventure, family, drama, humor, issues for that age, and supernatural problems that the gang solve with little to no help from adults.
Read in order for the best fun and best results! But you can read it as a stand alone. This book has bullies, witches, and aliens! Then there is the end of the world to save yet again! Lol! This author will keep you interested from the very beginning to the last sentence!
The narration is perfect too! Just right for this series! Loved it! I recommend this for all middle grade and even slightly younger and older! ( I am a senior and loved it!)
Black's other books are a real hoot too! Thanks for letting me listen to this fun adventure!
Strange lights are appearing over the island, and then crop circles start appearing in the wheat fields, and a cow goes missing, disappearing into thin air, and our team of young heroes go into investigative mode once again. The owl and wolf society urges them to find the missing cow, and to uncover the mystery of the crop circles. What they find out is so weird. They come upon UFO's and find out that there are good and bad aliens, and that the clock is ticking as a cosmic threat is due to hit their island. They discover that there is a weapon of planetary destruction and that it's remote control had been lost, so their first job is to find this remote and try to save the planet, but first they had to return the cow, cat and man to their homes. Ambrose Draven and his nephew were up to their necks in their involvement with the bad aliens and they were following the alien hunters who had turned up on the island, and who in turn were following the kids. Can they save the island before their enemies get their hands on the weapon of planetary destruction? It is a mad rush to find and destroy the remote control which is supposed to be indestructible, and from the ending of this book it looks like our team will not be getting a break at all this time around as the witches are hovering over the island already!! Phew these books are so exhilarating, I am sure young readers will love this series which has me hooked!
There’s spooky going’s on going on at Weirdbey island and as per usual we find Dylan and his gang of friends right in the thick of it all. Shrouded in mystery, suspense and drama we follow these kids as they investigate what is going on. Fun, laughter, action and adventure, can the day be saved before the supernatural or is it aliens invade and take over??? These may be aimed at 8-12 year olds and I’m definitely not that age but I love this series and look forward to the next book!
Crop circles, UFO's, strange people with weird circumstances of cows and people missing around Weirdbey (really Whidbey) Island. Dylan and the "gang" are on a new mission for "The Society of the Owl and Wolf", not to just save Weirdbey, but to save the Whole World, and the clock is ticking!!!!!
Eldritch has done another great job of capturing the surrounding areas of Langley and Coupeville, both on the Real Whidbey Island.
I really enjoyed this mystery, the main characters, all young people were entertaining to follow. Bright, resourceful and best of friends, these kids plan and execute and take control of their situation. Scott Bennett is my absolute favourite narrator and he did an amazing job with this book. Enjoyed spending time with these characters in this second book by this author.
audible:This was a very good story set for the YA crowd.I enjoyed it! J. Scott Bennett was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
