Gods of Thunder MC

Not His Biker Goddess

Rate this book
She may be the goddess of war, but can she handle a fight for her heart?

Athena, Goddess of War, has never been in love, and that’s just fine with her. The logic is clear: love equals drama. She’s perfectly content with her life in the Gods of Thunder Motorcycle Club, just ask her… but then what is this itch she’s feeling? Why can’t she sleep? What is making her so stir-crazy? Athena revs up her Indian Chief and rolls out of town, hoping to calm the fires within.

But driving a vintage bike isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When her Chief breaks down in the smallest of small towns, Athena discovers there are some things even a goddess can’t find. Vintage part? Get in line. At least the mechanic knows what he’s doing. And that’s the trouble, because now she’s calm and cool. Now she’s sleeping like the dead, if the dead slept with gigantic smiles on their faces.

Malcolm Sova is back after too many tours in Afghanistan. He’s hung up his special forces patch and returned to his first love: anything on two wheels. Nothing makes more sense than fixing and riding motorcycles. But when the raven-haired goddess rolls into town on the sweetest Chief he’s ever seen, he’s faced with a challenge that feels more like a battlefield from his past.

Can two hardened warriors drop their shields long enough to see they’re fighting for the same thing?

Athena, Goddess of War, is missing something in life but isn't sure what, so she gets on her vintage motorcycle and takes off. But her search for adventure comes to a standstill when her bike breaks down just outside a very small town. Thankfully, they have a mechanic but their first meeting awakens something Athena has never felt before. Malcolm Sova is back from Afghanistan and starting a new life. He thinks he knows exactly what he wants. Until he meets Athena.

I truly enjoyed this book and Athena's story. The book was well-written with wonderful characters and a sweet romance. This was a quick, fun read that drew me in from the beginning and kept me hooked throughout as I read it in one sitting. I loved the small town feel and the soul deep connection between Athena and Malcolm. I highly recommend this book which is part of a multi-author series.

Fun

Athena was a lot of fun and a total BAMF. I really like her attitude toward certain people, because they needed it.

The main character in this book is Athena, the Goddess of War, who along with all the other Gods has come down from Mt Olympus and agreed to live in the mortal world as a human, not using any of their powers. She believed she was content to live alone, with her life in the Gods of Thunder Motorcycle Club, but all of the others are out there falling in and out of love, with all the drama that involves. She is spending her nights in the bar, drinking loads, but unable to get drunk, when her friend questions whether she is really happy! She’s feeling a bit stir crazy and a little voice in her head is telling her to just let go. There is no reason she can’t and she awakes the next day, packs a bag and decides to go on a road trip on her old Indian Chief motorcycle, that she calls Baby Blu, letting her bike decide the destination. Unfortunately, the riding of a vintage bike also leads to mechanical issues and she ends up breaking down just outside the small town of Shune Falls, Washington. She coasts her bike down the hill into town and asks for directions to a garage, of which there is only one.
She walks through the gate outside the garage and is met with the view of a god-like man showering out in the open! Malcolm Sova has returned full time to his grandmother’s home town, where he loved spending every summer and fell in love with a local called Katie MacAllister. He signed up to the military and did a number of tours overseas, and after getting engaged to Katie, he had only been gone a few weeks, when she cheated on him with Ted, a local man. His grandmother Gigi, or Georgie, had to break the news to him during a webchat while he was overseas! His dream had always been to come back to town and take over Barber’s Garage, when the owner retired, so he has done that and is just moving in, on the day Athena walks up on him naked and showering off after an accident with some manure!
He was betrayed by his first love Katie and she doesn’t seem to have gotten the message that her behaviour isn’t forgivable nor forgettable and that he doesn’t want to take her back! Even as she flaunts her current boyfriend Ted, who she cheated on him with, right in his face and tries to get him back. She is completely blind to what her actions did to Malcom and why he wouldn’t want her back. Luckily for Malcolm, he has an instant attraction to Athena, which is returned and the two hit it off with talk about her bike and the repairs it may need. He shows her to the local B&B and they meet again at the local biker bar, where Katie draws them into a pool competition, hoping to embarrass them and show off how good her Ted is. Shame that Athena is quite a pool champ herself and she manages to help Malcolm win, whilst being kind to one and all, putting Katie in her place without being nasty about it! This viewpoint allows Malcolm to realise how to act when Katie comes around him, to ignore her attempts to get him back and to pay all his attention towards the beautiful goddess who appeared before him.
Katie doesn’t make matters easy for Malcolm, putting a spanner into the works at one point, almost breaking the couple apart, but the support of his gran Gigi and her wise words, push him back into action to figure out what went wrong. Love between a Goddess and a human is never going to have a smooth path and Athena is going to have to lay it all out for Malcolm, if they are going to have any chance of a meaningful future relationship. Both are hardened warriors, with a special link to owls. She has never allowed herself to be in love before, thinking she was fine on her won, but the presence of Malcolm has made her realise that she no longer wants to live alone and without love! A short story of two very similar warriors, one getting used to living as a human and allowing someone else into their life and the other finally finding a way out of a former relationship with strength and peace. A nice read and I look forward to reading more of this series of books, all about the Gods and Goddesses who are now living amongst humans and trying to act human in all things. I received an ARC copy fo this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Not His Biker Goddess by Corrine O'Flynn. This read is part of the Gods of Thunder world. Each book in this series is a stand alone read about a Greek God or Goddess of mythology. These amazing reads by different authors are funny, sweet, steamy, action packed and engrossingly entertaining. I absolutely loved Athena's story! From the moment she sets eyes on Malcolm to the very last sigh, learning what it means to be human is not as easy as it sounds. Throw in experiencing new emotions and finding love... well, let's just say that it's a lot harder than it looks. A great anytime read that will have you reaching for the rest of the series. A sweet romance that starts in an unexpected way and keeps you reading. Athena, Goddess of War, decides to get on her vintage motorcycle and takes off to where she may go. Her bike breaks down just outside a very small town and she goes to the local mechanic for help. I loved how Athena learns what it means to be human and how to adjust to her situation. Malcolm is so sweet and an interesting character stating his life again. One of my favorite moments is the beginning of the bake sale scene. The ending is so sweet and worth getting to, to see how they accept their future together. I highly recommend this quick fun read.

Our heroine is the goddess of war, our heroine a retired warrior. They are used to the heat of battle, but battles of the heart are another matter entirely.

This is an urban fantasy story something of a motorcycle club feel. The story is well written and easy to read with some great characters. I loved both or hero and heroine and enjoyed watching them feel their way towards a relationship. There is also a nice bit of humor to the story which is just icing on the cake. Overall, I found the story to be highly enjoyable and am definitely looking forward to more from this author..

Highly recommended.

Not His Biker Goddess is Athena's journey of love. Athena is the Goddess of War so love isn't on her mind. Or is it, she's having trouble sleeping, concentrating, and she's going stir crazy. She hops on her bike and ends out meeting and falling for the local mechanic Malcolm. I loved the way the author brought these two together and how Athena finds out how to be human. The writing is well done, the characters are entertaining and this love story is packed with humor, drama, steam, and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Not His Biker Goddess by Corinne O’Flynn is the story of Malcolm and Athena. She is the goddess of war and needs a break. Her motorcycle breaks down in a dismally small town. He is a mechanic just back from Afghanistan….and is a whiz at fixing bikes!!

Good story!!! I liked the premise of the story and the underlying theme. I liked Malcolm…but, took me awhile to embrace Athene. Overall, a great story!!!!

Wisdom Meets Love

This was such an unexpectedly fun read, and I've always wanted to see Athena fall in love! Somehow this book captured the spirit of Athena so perfectly from over thinking to being good at pool to having to Google how to flirt. Malcolm was a good match, though I wish we'd gotten a little more show than tell with him. Still, I loved his chemistry with Athena and will definitely be reading more of the series!

Small town romance with a mythological twist. This story is very sweet, and has a fabulous happy ending which made me smile, as a matter of fact, I smiled all the way through. The shower scene is amusing and I loved the pool showdown. Loved it

Not my normal

This title of this book was misleading. It wasn't at all what I thought it would be about. I'm sorry to say, but I just couldn't get into it.

Not His Biker Goddess is part of the Gods Of Thunder MC series, a multiauthor series.
Athena and Malcom are at the centre of this book.
Again another brilliant book, my first by Corinne O'Flynn and I can honestly say Athena, along with Hephaestus, is my favourite Goddess of the series so far and I'm not sure if these 2 can be topped!
Athena, Goddess of War, has struggled to settle on earth since Zeus decided to shut down Mount Olympus and although she has been spending her time usefully, something is missing. She is not interested in finding love, as according to her that only complicates life.
She takes her vintage bike and just heads down the highway when her bike decides to break down on her.
Luckily for her, Malcom, ex-Green Beret and new owner of the local garage, is there to fix her bike.
Malcom has recently come back to stay in the small town where he spent plenty of summers with his grandma.
His ex-Fiance is still causing him trouble and is suddenly showing interest in him again, but Malcom has no interest to start things with his cheating ex.
Athena on the other hand totally peaks his interest, and the feeling is mutual.
Super cute, both characters are equally lovable and just a feel good story.
Athena, having never been in love is unsure how to handle the situation, but she's on an adventure, what could go wrong?
Highly recommended story about 2 warriors finding their HEA!!!
