Freedom never tasted so bitter.

A stolen love. A strangled curse. A heart of sin. And a fate touched in moonlight.

My men weave a tangled web around my soul, and I’ve formed a pack that will go to death and back for me.

The moon hangs low over my heart as the call of the endless sky draws me closer and I find myself lost in the abyss that was waiting for me out here.

Fate has left a bitter taste on my tongue, the haunting echoes of the past mocking me at every turn. But I’m not a pup anymore. And I won’t let another ten years pass without mending the rift in my heart.

Darkness draws near enough to devour me but I have forged a pack of wild creatures at my back and I won’t be pulled into the grip of despair.

I’ll find the stars in this endless night and force them to hear me howl.

I am Rosalie Oscura and I will claim my happy ending, even if I have to claw it from the hands of destiny itself.

This is the final instalment in the Darkmore Penitentiary series.

This series is set in the world of Solaria five years after Zodiac Academy and ten years after Dark Fae and book one was previously published as Darkmore Penitentiary. There is some character crossover but all series can be read independent of each other without spoilers. The female lead will end up with more than one love interest.

Final Book Review

I know I asked for one book to finish off the series 2 years ago but damn did I not expect how underwhelming the book would turn out to be. The first three books in this series far exceeded all my expectations..mostly the first two books but this one left so many things unanswered and I hated how the authors tied everything up just because they wanted to end this series.

The only reason I gave this book 3 stars is because my 1 and 2 stars are reserved for more terrible stories or writing. But it doesn’t mean that 3 stars means that this book was worth it. Read on to see why I think you shouldn’t read this book and maybe end this series in book 3 right before the last two chapters of that book (the last two chapters are where it breaks you and will also help you pretend that there’s no book 4).

Things I loved?

a) Hastings! Who would have thought that a barely present comic relief character in the last three books would end up stealing my giggles?! This man started off as an innocent officer and remained the same innocent man. Almost reminded me of a way more innocent version of Deadpool’s Peter!

b) Connecting different things from the other books. I’m glad I flew through the Zodiac Academy series because reading about the Hellion Hunt, the heirs and Vard’s history helped me pick things up a lot more quicker and I could understand the significance of these things/characters. Also seeing the recurrent characters was definitely the best thing..the howling wolf and the vampire with the golden curls at the Hellion Hunt ahem ahem

c) I KNEW LEON AND SIN WOULD BE BESTIES!!! I just wanted more scenes with the two of them connecting with each other! So can we get additional scenes with the two of them?! Pretty please with a lemon on top!

Things I hated? Woah this one’s a long list.

a) I know I said I was okay with getting one final book in this series but nothing pisses me off more than when there isn’t a continuity with the book covers. Cain did not have his own book cover and yes, this is a big deal especially because the Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac characters all got their own book covers.

b) Something I just couldn’t get past after completing the Zodiac Academy series is that Tory and Darcy were cool about helping Rosalie get out of prison. So umm..why the whole FIB situation when they could have been told to chill the F out when the inmates tried to escape? (I’m not too annoyed about this because book 2 ended on that huge high with the lockdown but at the same time it just feels weird)

c) On that note, you’re telling me that Rosalie pretty much has connections with the higher ups of Solaria and she decided to not ask anyone to help her when Roary was in trouble and later when more shit piled up towards the end? Like not even her DRAGON BROTHER?! NOT THE RULERS OF MOTHEREFFING SOLARIA WHO DECIDED TO END VARD IN ZA?!!! Bruh what?!

d) Did the authors really just decide to sweep the double order under the rug and hope that their readers wouldn’t have questions about it? No one addresses it and it’s basically accepted like..”yep thats how it is”!

e) Connected to my last point and having read Zodiac Academy, ummm are we not going to ask questions about how Roary suddenly developed the anatomy to digest blood? I remember when the characters in ZA were learning about vampires and drinking blood and their professor clearly said that vampires are born with the anatomy to digest blood unlike other orders. So did Roary’s entire digestive anatomy change when his order was changed?! Doesn’t make sense.

f) The Hellion Hunt was disappointing. It was so hyped up by Caleb in ZA..like Rated R hyped..and I was super excited to read about it and the whole scene ended up being like PG 13.

g) The chapters from Ethan’s POVs were so limited. I don’t remember how it went in the previous books for the other characters but it almost felt like I barely read from his pov in this one.

h) What happened to Cain’s curse mark? Did it disappear or did it stay?

i) Vard being all clever about his escape in ZA only to be mauled in an anti-climactic scene was just sad. Like he had the potential to be super evil and you’re telling me that this man had the backing of another a-hole dragon for 5 years and he didn’t have a back up plan? He didn’t grow more evil? He died so easily?

So these are pretty much everything I can remember that pissed me off about this book. And I honestly got teary eyed by the end not because the story ended but because of how disappointed I was with the way it ended. This series might not have a huge fan following compared to the Zodiac Academy series but damn I loved the first three books. And honestly, the way the authors kept winding the ZA story into 9 books is ridiculous because they could have ended it in like 6 books max but the authors decided to half cook this series?! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! This story did not deserve this rushed ending is all I have to say. Can’t believe I waited for three years for this scrappy ending.

2024 UPDATE

We have a date guys! Kindle has updated a book cover and date. Or maybe I’m just late to this update lol but the book is coming out on July 30th!!! I read the third book in 2021 and let’s be honest I barely remember most of the story so definitely onto a much needed reread!

2023 UPDATE

I'm marking this as "read" because I can't write a review on my phone if I don't. It's been so freaking long since I finished the third book in this series and now I'm officially PISSED THE F OFF. Can the authors stop releasing their damn zodiac books and just end this series?! Is that too much to ask for??? I'm not even asking for multiple books. Maybe end it in a book. Just one book for this series! I get that authors write books for series that are more popular but damn even the less popular books still have fans like us.

❌HUGE SPOILERS ❌
What a disappointment. After waiting years for this book to come out, it felt like the authors ran out of steam and gave up with this one. They already had them escaping from the prison in book three but had to fill their quota of one book per love interest, hence the absolute disservice they did to Roary in taking away every piece of what made him....him.

And then they just solved all of it so easily in one book. They threw the strangest, most contrived wrench into this story by taking Roary's lion from him (something they then destroyed all evidence of so it couldn't be used further in the world), and there was barely any struggle from him that you'd expect to see.

Roary already struggled with feeling inadequate and shameful because the things that made him prideful as a lion were being stripped away from him, so how could they justify barely making him struggle with having the whole lion taken away????

He had to escape, learn how to use his vampire side, how not to fall into the hunt, reconcile with Rosalie and her guys/pack and his very short-lived feelings of inadequacy, track down someone thought to be dead that none of them knew about previously, and hopefully get his lion back, all in one book.

Add on top of that:
1. Cain coming to terms with being a criminal AND with sharing Rosalie and her blood. Oh, and solving the issue of his curse,
2. Sin finding his father and real brother, learning the truth about his past, and being betrayed by someone from his past,
3. Ethan having his awkward confrontation with Dante but otherwise being so go with the flow it was boring,
4. Hastings and his pseudo membership in their pack that turned into him doing side quest stuff to find himself,
5. Edit: also Roary reconciling with his father,

...and you have a lot to be wrapped up in one book. So of course it was all on a fast track where everything was rushed for the sake of tying up the storyline in 400-ish pages.

I mean, what was that with Tiberius and Max? Why would he tie Max to someone he thought so incredibly dangerous and then just let them loose? We never get any real resolution between him and Sin either, just a line later in the book summarizing the conclusion of their plot as an afterthought because there was too much else they had to cover in this book that took precedence. And Max's presence was completely underwhelming in this story. He was physically there but I forgot that half the time.

Honestly the hints here and there of other characters/references from other series were some of the best parts of this book, which is also disappointing because this series started out so strong and was so different from the others in its purpose and setting until it wasn't.

We are never given rules or understanding of Rosalie's powers and connection with the moon, allowing for any miracle needed to be covered by the moon's power, including bringing someone back from death. We are never given rules or parameters for the ability to take and switch one's powers, meaning that Roary got his lion back by simply having the glass smashed and absorbing it....also with help from the mysterious moon's mercy.

The problem is that when there are no rules for what can happen, it cheapens the high stakes the authors attempted to create for this final book. There was never anything to worry about because the moon had it all covered. The characters couldn't solve all these issues but the moon had it all in hand.

The moon even bonded all of them. How convenient to actually having to work through the inferiority and superiority complexes that all of them struggled with. They struggled to all come together in previous books, but it was suddenly a non-issue in this one.

Rosalie herself was angry until she wasn't.
Roary was distraught until he wasn't.
Cain was stubborn until he wasn't.
Sin was....well, Sin. Lol
Ethan was just whatever he needed to be at any moment.

Seeing the Oscuras again, though? Priceless. And the ending with all their adopted kids? Adorable.

Ultimately I expected more from these authors, having read almost all of their books. This is not their finest work, and it's clear they ran out of steam with this one. Not even the few vanilla (for a why choose) sex scenes could save this one. There's an incubus among her guys who has just had his powers freed after years of incarceration but you wouldn't know that unless you were told.

2.5 stars I guess...

The moon did everything.

The Moon should have been the main character in this book because she did most of the work. Anytime there was an issue, the Moon was there to help Rosalie with her mysterious and unexplained powers and everything would be well thanks to the Moon. Even the men started to feel the Moon and be thankful to Her because she did all the heavy lifting in this book.

After waiting anxiously for this book, I am sad to say that it felt rushed and it was underwhelming. It took Rosalie and her men three books to escape Darkmore, but in this final book, everything happened so quickly and without much planning or development. While I complained that the last few books of the ZA series were too long, this one would have been better with a few extra hundred pages. So many things happened in one single book: Roary’s adaptation to his new reality and his learning to control his impulses, finding back the mad scientist that stole his lion, making sure that what happened to Roary remained a secret by killing everyone involved, getting betrayed and saving harem members, finding a way to make the harem work out…

Since he was sent to Darkmore, Roary felt like he let down his family and that he was not good enough. Now he’s been stripped from his lion, but he barely seemed to struggle. Sure, it devastated and destroyed him, but we didn’t truly see it. It just seemed like he mourned for a while and was crushed by this loss, but then he learned how to navigate his new reality and everything was fine again because he learned how to vamp like a champ. He even embraced his new order after only a few days, which is good for him, but not very realistic with what we know of his character.

Everyone was just so compliant, and whether they had hidden motives or not, it just made everything too easy. The guard helps Roary because he suddenly realizes how horrible what happened to him was, Jerome helps them at first without naming a price, and Tiberius just lets them go because he feels like trusting them... The stakes were high, but they didn't feel high because everything fell into place too easily and whenever there was an obstacle, I was not anxious because I knew that it would be solved quickly, and probably thanks to the Moon.

The romance was not as good as in the previous books. Sadly, I did not feel much connection between Rosalie and her mates. I am happy they got their HEA, but I feel that there was so much work left to do between them all, and we saw none of it. Instead of working through their issues, especially how much they struggled with sharing Rosalie and working together in the previous books, they just swept it all under the rug, called each other brothers, and lived happily ever after. I feel that the authors missed an opportunity for character growth here.

Ethan was bland and in the background. I forgot about him a few times, only to be reminded that he existed because there was a chapter from his POV. I honestly don't have anything else to say about him.

Roary was overwhelmed by everything that happened to him and his new order, but at the same time, he adapted so fast... He just didn't feel like the Roary we saw in the previous books. I know he was bound to be changed after his horrible ordeal, but still, he felt bland and out of character, at first drowning in grief and despair, then just taking everything in stride and learning how to vamp with his new brother and best buddy Cain. It was just weird...

Sin has always been a loose canon, but in this one, he is a liability. He needs to tone down the crazy talk and crazy thoughts because it distracted me from the plot. Also, why the need to add the subplot about Sin’s real family? Was it only to have a cameo with some of the ZA characters? Because I don’t see what it added to the story besides an underwhelming appearance from one of the Heir.

Cain did a 180 in this book. He is now okay with being a criminal, helping escapees, and sharing Rosa. It was like magic, a few days, one or two conversations, and the problem was solved! The curse that had been plaguing him and haunting him since the beginning of the series was also taken care of but not really mentioned, almost like it was an afterthought. The way it was resolved makes sense, but it too was swept under the rug with the other half-explained subplots.

The ideas are there, but the execution and development are lacking, and it saddens me to give this final book such a low rating, but I was expecting so much more from this conclusion...

1. Caged Wolf ⭐⭐⭐⭐
2. Alpha Wolf ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

"This world hadn't offered me a place when I was born but I had carved out one for myself regardless."

And with that the Darkmore Penitentiary and Solaria world has come to an end (at least for now because the twisted sisters have to keep us on our toes let's be real). As the people who have waited for this book know - this was one of the hardest cliffhangers (book 3) I think I have ever experienced - right up there with ZA (surprise to no one). But I absolutely loved how the twisted sisters ended this chapter of Solaria - it is such a bittersweet thing to say but I can say that this is a journey that I would happily experience all over again (and you know me so you know I'm being serious). I don't want to give too much away in this review so I will just say this - This world means everything to me and if you take one thing away from this it's this - READ THIS WORLD IT IS SO WORTH IT!!!

"And I knew, no matter where any of my pack went in this world, if they were ever lost, they could always hear the howl of the Oscura Wolves and find their way back home."

3⭐️

So I did it. It feels like end of an era. It was exactly what I needed.

Yes, there wasn’t a need for four books in this series the story felt drawn out but still a good read.

The only thing is I didn’t feel that connected to the characters and with each book I started to realize that I am bit bored with it but I had a good time anyway 🙏.

2.75 ⭐️ this kind of feels like a diservice to us readers. It's good and you'll probably disagree with me and like it more and rate it higher, but it's not good enough. All the wait just for it to conclude so... in a rush. Everything on it felt like we were rushing. And while I did like things that happened, I was not a fan of it's pace, nor how easily this "new" problem was solved. How everyone was outraged but understood too quickly what the situation was and moved to solve it easily as well...

Also their whole harem dynamic was too easily solved, idk... I expected more. To me this felt like the authors just said "fineee since everyone wants it let's just finish this book quickly so they can move on and give attention to our new series". They should have made this book longer and draw out every detail and put a little bit of more timeline in the story, elongated so that it didnt feel like we were on a race to the end. The amount of things that went down on the last zodiac academy book doesnt compare to this book. It was way less and it was a very anticipated book for many fans.

With spoilers:

There was never time to really make me feel that they really fixed their problems as a harem. All of them had inferiority complexes, specially roary. It was all too easily solved

She was supposed to be infuriated with them and I was honestly expecting her to make them sweat it longer and to ho back to retrieve roary herself, but no! She just easily forgives them and then we skip a dramatic martir moment I know we would have had, had the authors not rushed this.

On the other side, Rosalie spends way to much time pining after roary when he never reciprocates in a way that feels real and not forced, that it feels like her other mates are useless. I felt zero connection between any of her mates here. Zero fuzziness. All that heat happening at DP was suddenly gone. That scene btw where Ethan meets Dante and he cant remember him threw me off. It made me see him as a loser not worth remembering. Gone was the big bad wolf we met at DP.

Where were my wolf shifters here?? Like up until the very end neither Rosalie nor Ethan ever shifted! Like what? I was cheated out off literal puppy piling here...

Where was the sex scene that Sin forshadowed of all the guys being tied down to become her toys? I was looking forward to that and got nothing. Tbh all sex scenes were kind of boring considering we had a literal incubus in the harem. I mean nothing new from the Ruthless Boys. Actually no. Scratch that. Ruthless Boys sex scenes were sooooo much better. But this book? Meh. Also what's the deal with the incubus having actual issues with Rosalie desiring anything other than him! That is suuuuch a party popper plot point. Are you kidding me? The amount of kink that we are missing out on because god forbid ever wished to spike things up with something different than Sin... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤐🤐🤐🤐

The whole thing was just so easily solved. Nothing was angsty, not even Cain dying and being in the Veil 🙄 I found myself skmming that going "okok let's move this along... when do you get back to earth?" In my head, because it was so obvious I should have seen this coming.

I think that Jerome letting Ethan go in that moment ruined the story somewhat. Like sure let him alert the rest so they can save the others because it wont be difficult at all to catch them all...

Also, everyone in the story was complying too easily. Even from the start when the minotaur let roary go because he "didnt know" what Vard had done. Then Jerome just easily helping then find Roary. Tiberius easily letting them go. Max, who btw was so underwhelming to see that I was doubting if it was "the" Max from zodiac academy, just easily hoping on their let's ignore your crimes and save roary's lion bus.

The way the lion was so easy to retrieve... underwhelming.

Who was this benjamin? Was he the one that stayed at the end and was the last brother of Darius? I thought he turned to the other side? Im confused.

The names of their children 😖 cringe × 1000! Are they going to be part of the new series? 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 probably. Too many names to remember though.

Let me start with saying Darkmore has been my favorite series from the sisters. I loved Rosalie, her gifts, her attitude and confidence, but they rushed this book just to wrap up this series. It is so predictable and just laughable. Everything I loved about the characters is just gone. Ethan just follows everyone around like a puppy, Cain finally realizes he loves Rosalie, accepts his fate, he dies, and he is "moon touched," so he gets brought back. Sin..man how they ruined him by tying him to Max as his long-lost older brother. And Roary already struggling with his pride and how he feels inaquet. They strip his lion make him a vampire, oh but wait at the end, the Moon, she makes it so he has both orders. Add in a bunch of banging and they said done. After reading the conclusion of ZA you can see the similarities between the 2 books. This is a watered down verison of ZA. Just like ZA this is overwritten, over explained, and has too much filler and useless POVs. I am glad it is out, and now I can be done with the sisters. I will no longer read anything they come out with.

I've been waiting for this book to come out for almost 2 years now. Really disappointed it hasn't even been titled or anything. Loved the first 3 books and probably will love this one but very upset they are continuing so many other books but not this one

Omg I can't believe I've finished reading this series and this universe (apparently this is the last book set in Solaria and I'm sad about that). I was so scared for Rosalie, Roary, Sin and Cain pretty much the entire time and they went through so much in this book. The ending was so beautiful though (the twisted sisters always know how to do the best happily ever afters). Also I definitely didn't the reveal about who's family are. RTC.

Ok

I found this to be pretty disappointing. It lacked the heart and soul of the other sister's books and felt rushed. Considering this is the last ever book in Solaria I had higher hopes but it feels like they kinda phoned it in just to get it out. After waiting for literally years for this book it was so sad. It lacked the pizazz of the sisters usual work. Ghe story felt forced and tbh didn't really make sense in relation to the ending of ZA, one phone call could have brought in reinforcements to stop Vard and help them without them having to do all the sneaking around. And after all Vard did to Tory, Gabriel, even Xander, I felt they should have been involved. The only really amazing part was the shock of Sins parentage which was well done. But Rosa felt like a completely different person than the strong fierce woman we've loved throughout RB ZA and DP letting her emotions rule her and weeping constantly. And poor Ethan feels like an afterthought he barely had a storyline we don't know almost anything about his background his family or anything. It was tbh a bit of a mess. It even lacked the usual humour of the sisters there were only 2 scenes that even made me laugh. Even all the easter eggs from koq and hc didn't make up for the lack of heart.

The twisted sisters never disappoint. What a perfect ending. I love how they create such different characters every single time and they make you love even the most monstrous ones of their imaginations.

My only complaint is that I wanted Ethan to reunite with a certain disney tattooed danger noodle. There were a few references which got my hopes up, but nope.
The ending seemed a bit rushed, but great ending to the series.
In the future, I need a kids of RB, ZA and DP series.

The way they left us cliffhanging.....murder! I'm on pins and needles....biting my fingernails...ranting and raving...I want to pull a Misery & tie them to the computer and force writing.

Loved It! Wild Wolf was a fitting end to a loooong series! I love how they've all come together, putting their diffences aside from past books and truly embracing each other.

An absolute masterstroke to introduce Tiberius Rigel into the plot. I did not see that coming! I would have liked some POV chapters from Max and Tiberius however, that was not a disappointment or negative to the rest of the book.

I absolutely loved the ending! The introduction of the kids, the happiness, the inclusion and acceptance. Simply beautiful. I'll miss the world of Zodiac Academy. 😘

The ending was a bit abrupt for me, but otherwise an overall nice ending to this series!

Rating: 3.5 Stars 🌗🐺🧛🏼‍♂️🦁😈😕

This book did not feel like a labour of love, it felt more like a reluctant author obligation ending to appease the restless fans and for that.. My heart hurts.

Darkmore is one of my favourite series and waiting 3 years for this conclusion actually stings.
I think the 3 year hiatus did more harm than good, because it definitely felt like the authors ran out of steam with this one. I say that with a heavy heart bc they are my favourite authors.

I wanted to love this book as much as I loved the previous ones (all 5 stars reads) but there was a glaring disconnect from the rest of the books.
I suppose part of the reason for that is the fact that this one wasn’t set in the prison. However, it overall lacked the same tone of the previous books in the series.

Here are some of my observations:

I loved the humour and Sin’s crazy antics. - I also have to give a shoutout to Hastings and his secret dark side… He was darn cute and clueless!

I love that Rosalie remained headstrong.

The ZA character cameo’s were fun.

I am glad that we got a happy ending.

BUT… There were a lot of things that made me not love this book namely:

I found that any problems that arose were solved too easily and were explained away by ‘moon magic’ which conveniently overrides the rules of magic in Solaria. - This negates the satisfaction of a hard won victory. *le sigh* I needed higher stakes!

It lacked the signature tension and angst that Caroline and Susanne are known for. I wanted the signature emotional damage and struggle love, but the vibes just felt watered down.

The pacing was faster than the previous books and this instalment felt more condensed or ‘rushed’ which is un-usual as Caroline and Susanne’s books tend to be very long and detailed. - I am surprised to say that I wanted more depth especially when it came to getting into the minds of the men.

The authors books are usually very character driven but I felt that there were a lot of missed opportunities to develop the male characters more especially with how they behaved outside of the prison. I wanted to see who they were as individuals in their own home settings.

I felt that Ethan was overlooked in this book. His character was a pale imitation of the cocky Alpha that he was in the prison. - I also wish that we got to see him re-united with Ryder.

I felt that Sin’s family discovery was rushed and under-developed, and we didn’t really get to see how his family relationships blossomed. We were told rather than shown…. A pet peeve.

Roary and Cain’s characters also felt slightly watered down too. I was missing the angst and stubbornness from them both.
- The overall dynamics between the men were resolved too easily.

While this finale wasn’t everything that I hoped it would be, I still enjoyed it. It wasn’t a bad ending, but it was lacking the thing that made it satisfying. It lacked heart.

ARC review 💫✨

and here we are, at the final planned book in the solaria universe 🥲 it’s been a wild ride and i can confidently say this is one of my favorite fictional universes. no one does it like the twisted sisters. the authors note got me so in my feels, read at your own risk😭

true to form, Wild Wolf ripped my heart out and put it back together piece by piece. It was action packed from the first page, as we dove right back in where we left off (thank god!!). there were things i couldn’t have even dreamed of in this book and i was smacking my couch like an idiot screaming when certain things popped up (you’ll know when you get there).

the spice??? oh my loRD the RH was RH’ing. it felt like every character had their moment, and those who we were waiting on had their time to shine. the twisted sisters never miss when it comes to writing found family and healing trauma 🤌🏼. my “why choose” heart is so happy & fulfilled after this!

on the topic of characters, i must say that rosalie is THAT GIRL. she’s my fav right next to tory vega herself, and i just love how authentic and fully individual she is. she loves so fiercely and is so confident in her intuition, i strive to be like her 🥹

i love all these boys SO MUCH but i know y’all are going to ask, so here’s my final lineup: ethan, roary, sin, then cain. ethan can have me any which way and then some. i need it to be noted how crazy it is that the twisted sisters have me this feral over a BLONDE of all people, but it’s my truth 🙂‍↕️

ALL IN ALL, this series was so memorable and an instant 5 stars. every book was a 5 star read (i don’t give this away lightly!!) and this series is one i’ll be recommending forever and ever 🫶🏼✨ A MORTE E RITORNO 🌙🖤

a note on the solaria universe reading order: the Darkmore Penitentiary series takes place during & after the events of the later books in the Zodiac Academy series. Darkmore is completely isolated from the outside world, so books 1-3 in DP don’t have any ZA spoilers! Be aware that Feral Wolf does have subtle spoilers for the end of the Zodiac Academy series. if you’re wanting to read the whole universe, read ZA before DP!! you won’t be disappointed 🙌🏼

Cue tears of disappointment 😢

I might write a full review later, but honestly, I’m still too heartbroken to process this properly.

Wild Wolf felt so rushed, it was almost unbelievable. Ethan only had about three POVs, and don’t even get me started on how Sin was treated—he deserved so much better!

I had such high expectations for this book, but it ended up being far too predictable. The one element that could have been truly intriguing was completely brushed aside, like it didn’t even matter.

I’m genuinely upset because I needed so much more from this book.

SO.
MUCH.
MORE.

This series was on track to be my favorite in the ZA world, but now I’m just left feeling like a mess. 😭
I can't help but wonder if they rushed this final chapter because of their deal with Simon & Schuster. I really hope that's not the case, but honestly, that's the vibe I'm getting. 😔

I am gutted because I was bored reading this book. I loved this series set in the Solaria world, but this final part of the story didn't live up to what came before it. Everything was resolved a bit too easily, and there were one too many divine moon moments, thanks to Rosalie’s limitless power, that just lowered all the stakes.

I loved some moments - revisiting the oscuras and spotting all the crossover parts was fun, but that just made me remember how good the Ruthless Boys series was.

And with that the last book in the world of solaria came to an end. What a ride it has been but I wouldn’t wanted to miss it for the world! ✨
It’s so strange that I have to let go of the characters I became so attached to, I FEEL EMPTY……

This book was the last in the DP serie and started off right after the MAJOR cliffhanger in book 3. I’m saying “RIGHT” but the twisted sisters made us wait for it. IT WAS NOT FUNNY Y’ALL?!!!!

I have to be honest…. This book was a bit slow for me in het beginning, and how deeper I got into the book how fast it suddenly became. Based on the story only I would probably not give it 5 stars because it didn’t meet my expectations after the fantastic restless stars & feral wolf.
The reason why I gave it 5 stars is Sin. FUCKING. Wilder. I love this man so much! I HAVE NEVER loved a character so much as I did Sin. He is everything you can hope for and more! Sin is my favorite & Leon is my favorite in RB…. SO SEEYING THESE TWO BECOME BUDDIES. DREAM COMING TRUE!!!! 🥹 THEY WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER!!

Okay i’m gonna sit in a corner and cry for the next 450 business days but before I leave;
can we all take a moment and give the scene between plunger & hastings a grammy?!!!! I LAUGHED SO HARD I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE. E-P-I-C!!!!!!!! 😭

Thank you Caroline & Susanne for this amazing adventure! I’m gonna miss it so much…. But I know that I will always have this amazing fictional world to come back to whenever I need it…. A morte e ritorno…. 💗

It’s been so long since I have been waiting for this book! The humour , the angst and that amazing ending , I mean I can say that the wait was totally worth it . This book takes off where the third one ended and I swear my heart was in my throat for Roary in the initial chapters. It got twisted as well but then I loved the way the characters supported each other.

As always there are plenty of cameos in this book and one amazing connection to a hero that I did not see coming and definitely loved that the most! The ending tore me apart and There are plot twists for which we need to praise the authors so much. I can’t disclose much about the plot but let’s just say that we have a lot of crazy comebacks from characters we thought were gone.

Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there!

Damn. I can’t believe these are over already 😭

I really, truly loved how thoroughly these characters developed in these 4 books. These men had the most impactful character flaws, but it made their development all the more interesting. I loved the inclusion and cameos of some of the Zodiac Academy characters (and villains!) and it helped tie up a lose end that has been bugging me since Restless Stars!

Rosalie and her Pack really gave Elise & her Kings a run for her money, but Elise still reigns supreme in the Solaria-verse for me. I’m going to wait on Never Keep until a little closer to Echo Fort’s release.

Finally got to read the final part of this series, the authors sure took their time to publish this one.

Wanting to know the ending, the read was a quick one and perfectly wrapped up the story. The different perspectives is something I love about these books, although the plot surely could use some more depth.
