The dark themes and triggers were gut wrenching yet defining pivotal moments that made these characters all the stronger. The development of each character written perfectly. The different point of views told a telling story of heartbreak, love, and loss. It holds so much mystery, adrenaline seeking suspense, slow burning passion and romance, revenge, murder, violence, vengeance, friendship, lust, loyalty, trust. It will hook you, have you turning the pages to find out more, reading this story, it enables the readers to really connect with the characters.
From the first word to the last, I was hooked, could not put this book down, such a roller coaster of emotions. This author clearly knows how to hook and ensnare her readers to ensure they come back for more, me I will come back for more from this author for sure!

Great story arc. Love scenes too frequent and glossed over in a couple of paragraphs instead of a little less often but stronger quality. Her other series are better. Need Sebastien and Lauren's story though....

Book 1: Dark Angel
This book Follows Gabriel and Samantha as they try to navigate a VERY complicated relationship. Gabe has known Sam for many, many years as he is her dads best friend. Sam has been in love with Gabe since she was a teenager. After a drunken confession and Sam takes off to live her life away from Her dad and his best friend. Unfortunately, she finds herself in a heap of trouble before finding her way back home. The story follows the roller coaster ride these 2 go on when they attempt to give in to their feelings. This book has a plot aside from the couple, but I feel it takes a back seat. The main focus is on the relationship of the 2 main characters and how tumultuous it is.
Sam has a LOT of traumas from a past relationship, and Gabe has a knee-jerk temper. Those 2 things make for a lot of back and forth and a lot of walking away by the FMC. Sam has trouble through the entire book, staying in the relationship and working things out, She's a runner. Gabe loves Sam but doesn't want to deal with the childish act of her running away when things get hard, even if he understands her past. Those things make for a book full of arguing and breaking up and coming back together.
All the while, there is a back story plot that is explained and resolved by the books end. Of course, this is a duet, so s they have settled into a HEA BAM! a new issue is knocking on the door.
The editing and grammar in this book are very good, and the plot structure is good. It's a little lengthy, and at times feels a little repetitive with the fight, walkaway, come back routine, but I understand the author was showing the depth of Sams trauma.
This book is also available on audio with Zara Hampton-Brown as Sam and Will M. Watt as Gabe

This couple had to work hard for their HEA! While I love a strong FMC, Sam is so hard-headed and stubborn that she gets in her own way a lot. Everything is so black and white with both characters that there is a lot of what could be considered miscommunication just because they are so unwilling to listen to reason. Its back and forth with events that lead to this head butting and stubborn refusal to waver, which means they are in turmoil a lot of the time. Add in the outside forces that are thrown into their lives to battle, and they have to fight for their happy for sure.
The good news is their is a lot of growth and development of both the individuals and their relationship throughout this book. They come together and start to see what love truly means, and things become easier.
The plot is well thought out and flows well, there are some lulls where the plot takes a back seat to the relationship stuff but nothing annoying or dull and it all comes together nicely with a sweet ending. The editing and grammar are very good, and nothing distracts from the ease of reading.
This book is also available on audio with the same narrators returning to finish up the duet and close out the story in a great performance!

Samantha has loved Gabriel Sullivan most of her life, she threw herself at him the night before she left for college, and he turned her down. Gabriel is her father’s business partner and he knew he could not take advantage of the young eighteen year woman who he was extremely attracted too so he walked away. Samantha now at thirty-two she has returned to town a different woman, divorced from a pyscho husband who tried to murder her. Sam is still extremely attracted to Gabriel, but he’s slow to return the feeling because of her father, but when her life is threatened again he steps up to protect her and the fireworks start as their passions are fiery. The tow clash as Gabriel is an alpha male who needs control and domination and Sam is a woman who needs to be in control after her disastrous marriage. Now to tell her father about their relationship. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Lots of ups and downs
I wanted to love both books. Like another reviewer said, I wanted to slap Samantha so many times throughout this book!!! Gabriel is the man of my dreams ladies 💋 then he is given a woman like Sam that can't seem to appreciate how good she has it!? I struggled to finish reading because Sam pissed me off so bad. BUT because I love Sadie's books and knew this would end well, I had to finish it.
Ugh! So many times I face palmed 🤨😠🙄🤔
Even with all that, I loved the storyline. Sadie really is a fantastic writer! She has a way with words. She can really throw you into the moment in her steamy parts of the book 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Love this book
I love this book and all the book sadie writes. Once I start reading her books I can't put it down. We'll be looking for more books from her. I have already read threw the Ryan series and fierce king series. Now I just finished this. I just want to know everything about these characters she draws you in the anticipation, the jokes she slips in that makes you laugh. All I can really say is she is an amazing writer. Also look her up on tik tok that's were I originally found her.

Sadie is amazing!

I think I love everything Sadie writes. Sam and Gabe were such a real couple. They encountered very realistic challenges and responded in relatable ways.
I'm not interested in pregnancy in my romance stories and had I realized that was a part of the story I likely wouldn't have even read this.... but I'm really glad I did.
The baggage they each brought into the relationship and how they worked through it and healed together was beautiful.

I liked the chemistry between the 2 of them but it got to a point where it was annoying because it came off as she was more of a dog to him then a person. It was also annoying because the way they had dealt with their problems was to have sex or run away or walk out, and that’s not what a relationship is about. Believe me I love sex just like the next person but a relationship doesn’t consist of being in a bedroom

This was a beautiful duet to read.
Samantha and Gabriels story shows that age is definitely just a number. it's a beautiful story about 2nd chances and WOW the chemistry. Gabriel is definitely a man with many talents as Sam soon finds out. She is no longer the flirty 18 year old daughter of his best friend but a woman who has him tied up in knots. Some heart wrenching moments but these two are insatiable.

I love the entirety of this storyline. I love the strength of the characters amidst adversity; the strength of their love for one another; the strength of their devotion to one another, and I love the protectiveness that they feel over one another. It's great to read something filled with hope in a world that is often blind to it. Well written, Sadie Kincaid 👏

I went into this books blind, but I loved every part of it. After all it's Sadie Kincaid. Gabriel and Samantha did not have major drama but the storyline was simple and like every couple a good few arguments.
If you are looking for something light, this is a lovely duet.

This is the combo pack and I enjoyed reading them, they are relatable, the FMC has flaws but she is brave and bright as hell. The angel duet had me laughing and I hope to read the remaining series, I would recommend reading.

This Duet totally gave me emotional damage with a hint of emotional whiplash 😅🙉 I loved it! I loved them! I couldn't stop reading and read both straight through. And the spice!! Wow! I'll never drink Jack Daniels again without thinking of this book 🥵
