General Gordon is a thorn in THEY’s side, and Sepp is their solution. With the DI-43 being released in Boston, and people already starting to die, Sepp knew it was only a matter of time before THEY found him again. And it doesn’t take much time before Sepp is thrown back into the world he tried so hard to escape.
One final mission, with everything on the line. But it doesn’t take long for Sepp to realize THEY don’t control everything on the board. And maybe not all the good guys have left well enough alone. A new group is rising to fight THEY, and Sepp may be TIME’s key to success.
THEY took everything from him once; he won’t let it happen again.
P.D. Atkerson is a homeschooled writer, living in Montana, who may or may not be a secret agent. She spends almost as much time in the worlds she creates as she does the real one. When she’s not reporting the stories of her agents, she’s learning different languages, or traveling to different worlds through the portals of books. She has a black belt in sarcasm and a master’s degree in useless facts.
4 stars. This was quite an interesting sequel! The setting is even more dystopian than T.H.E.Y., but still somewhat contemporary. The sarcasm and humour is even more on point than the first. I enjoyed seeing old characters and meeting new ones—Sepp just gets more awesome, as his family; Liam is cool; and the General is just fascinating.
The plot was super exciting (I had no clue where any of this would end up and was I ever on tenterhooks!) and had some really sweet parts. I enjoyed Sepp's arc and his drawing closer to God + morality… It was all very well done.
Content: Euphemisms and some violence.
A Favourite Quote: “THEY made you into a weapon, yes,” Ben said, his familiar warm eyes burning into Sepp. “But that doesn’t mean you have to stay one, Jojo. God’s love for you isn’t limited to whether or not you were a ‘pretty good person’ to begin with. What matters is what you do now, not what you did.” A Favourite Humorous Quote: “Howdy.” Sepp placed his hands on his hips and tipped his head toward him. “I reckon you’re lost, Cowboy?” “What?” Cowboy squinted at Sepp in confusion as he lowered his gun ever so slightly, and that’s when he acted[.] Cowboy swore as he swung at Sepp again. “Language!” Sepp called, sidestepping another punch from the man[.] “You do realize you’re going to have to put at least a dollar into the swear jar, right?” Instead of responding, Cowboy cursed again, then he reached out and grabbed one of the pictures off of the wall beside him. The next second, Sepp brought up his arm and blocked the blow as the man smashed the frame down toward his head[.] “I really liked that picture,” Sepp growled[.] “You really shouldn’t have used that one.”

Surprise, folks! There's a new organization on the block. And this one has it in for THEY. Oh, not to mention, DI-43 is already active and, well, killing people. What's Sepp supposed to do? That's right: go straight back to the world he thought he'd left behind. Only this TIME (*wink wink*), he won't let THEY take his life away from him again. Even if that means putting his own on the line...
T.I.M.E., like T.H.E.Y., grabs your hand and pulls you along for the ride. It picks up a few months after T.H.E.Y. ends, and it's quick to pick up on action once again. T.I.M.E. has a bit more of a dystopian feeling to it, and the stakes have really been raised. T.H.E.Y. has not remained quiet, and Sepp is pulled back into the world he tried to escape from.
Like the first book, the characters are amazing. Sepp is sarcastic but deep down he hurts over what he has done, and he wants to leave T.H.E.Y. behind and protect those he loves, no matter what. I'm looking forward to seeing how his character arc progresses in the next book.
The plot is fun and interesting, adding more tension and higher stakes from where T.H.E.Y. left off. T.I.M.E., a secret government organization of sorts, is an interesting addition. I look forward to seeing how they play a part in the next book.I didn't want the book to end! And that cliffhanger! My only regret in picking this up right after finishing T.H.E.Y. is now I have to wait for the next book to release before I can see what happens next.
The themes in T.I.M.E. are great as well, and I love the reminder in it that there is forgiveness for all who come to Christ. I'll be eagerly awaiting book 3!
