Once again Judy Ferrell takes into the world around her. In this collection of poetry, she gives us a full range of love, sadness, fear, and many others. She gives us a chance to take a peek at the everyday world around her and how she deals with life.
Judy Ferrell is a long-time resident of Abingdon, Virginia. Her earliest memories are listening to her grandfather play guitar and spin stories on the front porch of the family farm. And so a writer was born. Ms. Ferrell, a lonely child, taught herself to read early and began to write. She found she loved words and how they sounded. She asks her fans to join her in each new discovery as she continues her fascination with words and how they can change the world. With three books written and hundreds of reviews done, Ms. Ferrell hopes that she can in some way help other indie authors achieve their goals. Her one life goal is to be recognized in her home state as the poet and author she is.
Poems of the soul, alongside a really wonderful presentation. Judy continues to flourish as she releases her words into the world. Long may it continue.
Peace Ever-Changing is Judy Ferrell's second eclectic collection of outstanding poetry. Ideal for dipping, reading at random, or following through one after the other in a single sitting from the opener, Love Is Gone, to the final one 114 pages later, Fini.
A range of emotions shines through in many forms: humour, tearful, happy.
Amongst my personal favourites: War Is Not Porridge, which tugs at the heartstrings in its few short lines; Not Writing, because who amongst writers hasn't experienced the feelings conveyed by the poet here?; and Courage, for its simple message that we could all do well to take on board.
Topping the humorous charts: The Newsman's Lament, telling how a TV reporter facing a deadline, has to cope with a variety of obstacles interrupting his filming.
Then there's a tremendous underlying sadness in Sands Of Time, which will certainly resonate with older readers.
Judy Ferrell's skilful use of words and composition uncovers deep hopes, dreams and nightmares - and many more places in our minds where we may seek to find our true soul.
For me, the ethos of this whole collection is summed up in three lines of Spring, which appears around a third of the way through the 85 poems: "Renew your love, Find new life, Find peace."
I really want to comment on every single poem, as each one stirs up a different emotion and takes me to a different place...sometimes geographical, sometimes temporal; but always spiritual.
However, I guess you need to experience that for yourself.
This is the second collection of Judy Ferrell's poems that I've read. Overall, her work now has earned 10 * from me.
This collection of poems by author Judy Ferrell has a lovely simplicity to the verses that makes them relaxing to read. The topics feel timeless. Music. Service. Quilting. Change. The theme of “peace” played into many of the poems. I particularly enjoyed ‘One-way Street’ with its message of brotherhood. ‘Sands of Time’ is a lovely, haunting piece that feels like it speaks to remembering the best moments in your life with those you love, as well as aging. And perhaps because winter is nearly here and I’m feeling a big nostalgic, I have to say my very favorite of the whole collection was ‘Snow’ for its lovely imagery. This is a great collection for poetry lovers to curl up with on a cool fall day!

This collection of poetry will now always be among my favourites, alongside the author's first book. The emotions the verse bring forth will stay with you long after you finish reading, and particular phrases will often spring to mind. Highly recommended
Judy Ferrell's poems cover a vast territory of subjects, shifting from happiness to despair, and displaying a surprising understanding of human emotion. Each word seems chosen with great care, each sentence strung together like precious pearls, the essence of good poetry. The reader easily identifies with her worlds, her experiences, her feelings, her highs and her lows. Her poems are filled with wisdom. To read her work is to know who she is.. I highly recommend this book that helps us live better lives, be better people, be wiser and kinder.
After reading Beginnings: From Country Girl to Poet, I had to read this one immediately. It is another book of lovely poetry. I can almost see the author as she pens the poems, pouring her thoughts into the sentiments. All of the poems are lovely but I really connected with Haunted Tracks, Join and Human. If you enjoy poetry, definitely pick up this book!
I don't normally read poetry, but this collection of poems was relatable, transparent, and beautifully penned. It was a quick and easy read, but enjoyable and a fantastic collection that other poets or readers of poetry are sure to love.
This is the first book I've read from this author, but I certainly plan to read more of her works!
Peace-Ever-Changing is a group of poems. They are observations of life, love, pain, and joy. They are written with simplicity and beauty so that even those who are not normally fans of poetry, like me, can appreciate and relate to them. So whether or not you think you like poetry, check out this collection; you will not regret it, and I am quite certain they will warm your heart!
This was a wonderful and profound poetry collection. The poems are straightforward and filled with emotions and messages that many people ought to take into their own hearts and minds in today's world. Some contain humor and sadness, but all are truly deep.
