Rescued by a Wicked Lord

Rate this book
Miss Jenny Rayment knows that the threat of scandal is hovering over her entire family... Her impetuous younger sister has run away with a wicked man, leaving all of their futures hanging in the balance. She must be found and brought home, at once. When Jenny’s father suggests working alongside the son of an old family friend, she is violently resistant. For she knows the alluring Harry Wycliff of old and he has always been her enemy. She cannot work with him, even for the sake of her beloved sister. Can she?

A race through the dark streets of London to find a fallen lady begins...

Lord Harry Wycliff is no happier to be saddled with the spirited and stubborn Jenny Rayment than she is to be saddled with him. He only agreed to help find her sister as a favour to her family. He has always teased and tormented the enthralling Jenny and he certainly doesn’t like her any more than she likes him. Working side by side to find her errant sister is going to be a complete nightmare... is it not?

Hidden passion cannot be denied forever though...

As Jenny and Harry traverse the seedy streets of London, they discover they perhaps don’t know each other as well as they thought they did. The strange, fiery attraction that has most inexplicably arisen between them is real... but could it ever last when they started out as enemies? Yet just when it seems like Jenny might finally trust Harry, the world is turned upside down, once again...

Long & Poignant

Jenny and Harry fight constantly. Ultimately they are meant to be together.
This book is good despite the spacing out of the chapters.
Emily Honeyfield has written a witty and complex story.

WOW LOVED IT FROM PAGE ONE TO THE EPILOGUE

Jenny ( ALWAYS WANTS TO BE IN CHARGE)
Harry ( A KNOWN RAKE)
They grew up as neighbours their parents were great friends therefore they saw a lots of Each other, (unfortunately they hated each other).
Peggy, younger sister to Jenny had run away, knowing this would cause a scandal Jenny decided to look for her sister, her father asked Harry to help her which she objected to.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HARRY HIS HUMOUR HIS COMMITMENT TO FINDING PEGGY . He drags Jenny through the slums of London places she has never seen.
Made me smile in places I love a book where you can actually hear the voices and visualise the facial expressions of the characters.
I even loved Great Aunt Ernstine ( WHAT A CHARACTER WHO WOULD BELIEVE IT).

It is surprising what can bring people together.
First let me say that I loved the cover!! Now for the book it was sooo good. There is adventure and danger with chemistry that was smoking. The author's descriptions were so detailed that it put me right there were the characters were. I love when I become that engaged in a piece. I think that it what I like the most about Emily Honeyfield books I am always thrilled when I get a chance to read one. If you looking for a book that have some awesome twists than this is the book I think you will like.

A very engaging story

This is a very engaging story, that has a steamy plot of really enjoyable characters. This story has two arch-enemies struggling to find a runaway sibling, whilst coming to terms with their unrecognised love for each other. The extended epilogue gives you a unique insight into the main characters future lives, and completes their stories brilliantly. I read an ARC copy.

This was a fast-paced, swoon-worthy read, that I found I did not want to put down! The story was original and exciting with characters that were realistic and likable. It is everything you could want in a delightful stroll through the pages of a historical romance and more!

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Enemies to friends to lovers.

Harry and Jenny have been enemies since childhood. When Jenny’s sister Peggy runs off with a rake, Jenny’s father asks Harry for help. He asked Harry and Jenny to work together to find Peggy before a scandal breaks out. They work together daily and soon realize they are no longer enemies but something more romantic. Exciting story worth reading.

different

Didn’t really make a lot of sense,… chasing all the darker parts of London just her and Harry (even with a chaperone). Wasn’t into Peggy either as she was a real brazen one (although they was constantly describing her as naive, that description went out the door after she spent days running from her family and shacking up with Jarvis totally uncaring that they were not married). Enough said from me as I personally was not a fan of this book

This is an exciting fast pace book of a rollercoaster ride with twist and turns from the first page to the last. The author draws you in the lives of Jenny and Harry as Jenny searches for her younger sister who has runs away. This story has heartache, heartbreak, courage, trust, compassion, mystery, suspense, intrigue, passion, love and romance, Another fantastic story from Emily.❤️

Rescued, Saved, love revealed.

Snatched (well actually running away with) by a rogue, Jenny must find her sister. But her plan to do it herself is foiled by her father. She must take her most despised enemy. The two go on a hunt through the worst streets of London...... A good read Enjoy

DNF 16%. I couldn't get into it. I couldn't get past the suspension of disbelief required for the plot to work. The characters and the "enemy" aspect wasn't very interesting.

Lovely story.

Very intriguing story. The characters were great. A little more sex would have been better, but a good build up to it.
