Hot? Check. Romantic? Double check. Alive? Well…

Balancing school, work and two boyfriends is draining enough, but Layla is drowning in her witchcraft duties—literally. Monsters that she has to stop are flocking to her city and she thinks she knows why. But her impetuous incubus and winsome werewolf don’t believe her wild theory.

Spring break gives Layla time away from anatomy tests, but sends her to the public library in her quest to uncover the truth about the illusive Mr. White. She doesn’t know where to start until a mysterious stranger drops a book at her feet. Curious about the attractive man with a punk edge, Layla tries to chase after him, only for her hand to go straight through his shoulder.

Daniel Lu is not the drop-dead gorgeous librarian helping wayward students. He actually dropped dead five years before Layla was born. This wayward ghost forced to haunt the library needs her help to find his killer. Hunting down that man that shot Daniel thirty years ago leads Layla on a wild chase through the city and into the sights of a creature that could kill her with a snap of its claws.

She’s willing to risk it all to help the charming and well-read Daniel even while Ink laughs at her caring about a ghost. What kind of fool would fall for someone who’s little more than a whisper in the dark?

It's been around seven months since I last saw these characters and I really missed them, I'm so happy to be reading about them again (AND FROM LAYLA'S PoV!). No, I am not over Cal's PoV book, thank you for asking.

Okay so in this one we have a murder mystery, of one Daniel who may or may not be joining the group. Because dear Daniel is a ghost, who's been stuck in a library for 30 years until Layla comes in and finds him.

I love Daniel. Not as much as Ink of course, but more than Cal. He's the sweetest of the three men, and badly needs a hug.

Because of Daniel, we also got to see really jealous Ink which I'm all for, SO THANK YOU DANIEL. That was the best part of the book, I WANT MORE JEALOUS INK!!!

Cal was absent for a large part of the book, and while I didn't mind that, poor Layla was worried about him and I don't like my baby being worried. Bad Cal, bad.

What I really like about this series is that the plot keeps getting developed in the background, and we got a shocking reveal near the end of the book. Did I see it coming? Absolutely not. I'm so excited to see where it goes from here.

*Thank you to the author and StoryOrigin for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Layla is already overwhelmed with juggling Work, Nursing School and her relationship with her Werewolf boyfriend Cal and her Incubus "Ink" now she has added a new supernatural being to her already complicated harem. Let the good times roll.

This books picks up where Fang leave off with Layal still on her search for the elusive Mr. White. It's Spring Break and Cal is away with his friends in the mountain while Layla stays behind to focus on her magic and continuing her research of Mr. White. During her research in the library she runs into who she thought was a Librarian until it is revealed that the handsome young man is actually a ghost named Daniel who was murdered 30 years ago before she was even born. Layla has heart of gold and always wants to help others regardless of how dangerous it proves to be.

Layla takes on the responsibility of helping Daniel find the man responsible for his death much to Ink's dismay. Ink is still the BEST character in this series. For a demon who isn't suppose to have feelings or emotions; Ink was not happy about the budding relationship between Layla and Daniel. Ink and Daniel literally was going at it throughout this book. Layla's inner monologue was hilarious as usual and Ink's snippy and sarcastic comebacks were par for the course.

Our supernatural misfit reverse harem team is on a mission to help solve the murder of Daniel as well as battle the monsters that go bump in the night. We now have a relationship between a Witch, Werewolf, Incubus and now a Ghost. What could possibly go wrong? LITERALLY EVERYTHING!!!! I cannot wait to see what happens next with this group.

Ellen Mint gives us another great addition to the Coven of Desire. The one thing I have been enjoying about this series is that Mint weaves the plotline together really well, making each situation someone connected to each other in the overall scheme of things. I think with this book in particular we get quite a few things answered, even more questions that need answering, and some surprises thrown at us when we didn't expect them regarding the pasts of some of the characters.

I will say that some of the characters in this book really irked me, particularly Cal and Ink. It made it hard for me to like them through a good portion of the book. Their secrets, the lack of confidence in Layla sometimes, and not believing her when she mentioned Mr. White just didn't make sense to me when she had already been through so much to show she is capable. She's not perfect, but she's trying to learn. She's made it this far with very little knowledge of magic but puts what she does know to use. The fact that Ink is still not really helping her and complaining about having to do little extra things to help out around the house is just plain frustrating. The addition of Daniel in this book was very much welcomed. He's not only a sweetheart, but he was also able to assist Layla when Ink could not. Layla has been able to accomplish so much with his help and I see her progressing at a much faster rate with her magic in future books. Don't get me wrong, I still love all of the characters, but there is a reason that I tend to lean toward books with multiple points of view in them. I like to see all the sides to each situation so I know exactly what is going on and why characters make the decisions that they do. However, I know that everything will be answered in time in this series and I just need to be patient.

This series has been amazing so far and I look forward to reading more about Layla and her guys. There's so much going on that is linked together and I can't wait to discover more. I look forward to being introduced to more supernaturals, more enemies, and maybe a few new friends that could possibly help Layla on her magical journey.

Great story full of action and paranormal apparitions.
There is Ink the incubus, a lust demon, Cal the werewolf and the witch Layla. And in this story comes Daniel, the ghost.
Layla has to deal with monsters trying to kill her and she's convinced the mysterious Mr White has something to do with it. But wherever she searches for information about this man, she can't find anything. In the library there is a man who helps her and then he turns out to be a ghost who has been doomed to the library since his death. As soon as he realizes she can see and hear him, they make a deal. He's looking for information about Mr. White, she's helping him find his killer.
Ink is not charmed by the ghost, even jealous (but would never admit it). He joins the search for the killer because he hopes the ghost will pass when the killer is known.
An action-packed story, even more paranormal creatures wanting Layla dead, and the smoldering feelings of a ghost and the witch.
Comic moments but also shocking revelations.

It is still not clear who or what Mr White is. And the hunters from part 2 (Claw) also reappear at the end of the story. Luckily there's a sequel! Perhaps the reader will get an answer to where Layla's mother is and why she left her only daughter. How Layla continues to organize her life with 2 men and a ghost. And who is Mr White anyway?

A Helpful Whisper . . .

Layla is a witch busy with college, her two boyfriends (Ink an incubus and Cal a werewolf), and now she is taking on a new mystery. Layla has monsters trying to kill her. She believes the mysterious Mr White may have something to do with it but can’t prove anything. Then in the library a mysterious stranger drops a book at her feet. When Daniel Lu, the ghost living in the library, finds out she can see and hear him, she agrees to help him solve his own murder in return for his research into Mr. White. But her hunt is not without its danger! Tracking the man who murdered Daniel 30 years ago takes Layla into the city and the presence of a creature that could kill her with a snap of its claws.

Adding Daniel to the characters was a good idea. His character is very sweet and likable. He has been a big help to Layla. For the moment, Ink laughs at her caring for a ghost. Who can fall for someone who's only a mere whisper in the dark? But just maybe he can be more?

Layla is still trying to figure out all things witch. Spring break is approaching. Layla is excited to have time away from studying to spend with her favorite werewolf and incubus. Cal, unfortunately, has plans with his friends, Scott and Jared, to go camping. While away, Cal’s only request is for Layla to stay out of trouble. How much trouble could she get in researching the infamous Mr. White?

While at the library, Layla runs into a weirdly dressed man. Daniel Lu is a ghost that has been stuck at the scene on his murder, the library, for over 30 years. Layla is the first person to see and hear him. He wants her to help find out who killed him. Layla, of course, is up for the challenge. Ink doesn’t really care for Daniel but knows he can’t do anything or so he thinks. Now we are adding a sexy ghost to the team.

Readers will find out a lot in this book especially regarding the death Layla’s mother. Layla has developed a new gift that allows her to see the past. As the book progresses so does her newly found gift. This gift will be perfect to assist in finding Daniel’s killer, right? The gift unearths a lot including a new monster. I can’t wait to see how Daniel works into this crew. Each book gets better.

Each book in this series gets better and better. The characters’ lives are becoming more developed. Layla is quite busy with work and school and her two love interest, yet she still finds time to help solve another mystery and add a new friend. This time it’s a ghost who needs to find out why he died, to be exact who murdered him. Reading Layla’s life story is like talking to a good friend who fills you in on the exciting, interesting, almost impossible to believe life that they live. You can’t wait to hear what happens next in their life. Ellen Mint has written and interesting set of characters that has me waiting for the next adventure and you just know there will be a next.

Whisper is probably my favourite of the series so far. The romance, the suspense, the swoon-worthy ghost? Yes, please!

God Daniel makes my heart melt. There's something so genuine and sweet about him that really gets to me. I like Cal and Ink, but Daniel is the one. I'm sort of disappointed with what ended up happening as I don't feel like his story got the closure I was looking for, but I'm really hopeful with how Ellen left it open.

I'm getting more and more intrigued with this Mr. White and these mysterious detectives who keep popping up. I can't wait to find out more of whatever they're doing (especially since Cal's brother is involved somehow) and figure out exactly who and what Layla is. I'm hooked and can't wait for the next book!

I was given this advanced readers copy to give my honest review.
I loved it! The emotions flowed so naturally to what was going on in the story. I read this book over a series of days after I got off work and it was the perfect book to help me get out of my own head and immersed in a paranormal world. I do have to say, it was difficult for me when I had to put the book down so I could either go to work, do chores or other things that require my full attention! I was constantly thinking about what’s gonna happen next. I would definitely recommend this series if your looking for something a bit different and new.

Wow! So much happens in each of the books in this series, you never know what, who or where you’re going to be shown next. This is the third instalment and we are introduced to Daniel Lu a ghost who gives Layla an honesty and belief she desperately needs and something her other two lovers seem unwilling to give at the time. Promises are made, tensions rise and mysteries get deeper. There is so much emotion rippling through the pages, so much steam between the characters and so many new questions waiting for answers. Can’t wait for the next book.

Whisper is the third book in the Coven of Desire series (excluding novellas) and it was my favorite one so far! While studying for her nursing exams, Layla encounters the ghost of a dead man, Daniel Lu, and a connection quickly grows between the two while they attempt to find his murderer. I especially loved that book because we get glimpses into Layla's past and the mystery surrounding her mother's death and we see new sides of Layla, Ink and Cal with Daniel changing their whole dynamics. There are new supernatural beings, lots of action as usual, intrigues, plot twists, steamy scenes, etc. All the makings of an amazing book!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Layla wants to know more about the mysterious Mr White. A ghost at the library helps her find a book. For further help, Daniel wants to know who killed him. Along the way of trying to find out, they all end up fighting a water djinn. They don't get full answers and end up with more questions. Layla isn't an orphan as thought. Layla, Ink and Cal knowing the djinn's true name can be protected now. They are now joined by Daniel. However who is looking for Layla is unknown. This series is full of action and each book makes me more curious.

More twists and another plus one

I enjoyed this third book in the Coven of Desire series. This one focusing on a mystery with Daniel joining Layla and Ink as they try to solve his murder (she’s the first person to see him in 30 years); all while Cal is on a break with some friends.

Daniel was great, despite being a ghost, and I loved how he brought the jealousy out of Ink. I also found it great how the backstory was woven into this one, with humour and some great twists. Who is Mr White?

I’m really looking forwards to finding out more in the next book, this series is so well written.

Another great addition to Layla’s story. As if a hot incubus and gorgeous werewolf weren’t enough, in this book Layla also gains a beautiful ghost. One of my favorite things about the Coven of Desire books is how well Ellen Mint is able to resolve the main story of each book while still leaving us so many bigger questions that I just NEED the answers to! Layla’s mom, the red wolf, Layla’s real name… I can’t wait to see what happens as the crew adjusts to a new permanent member and how all of their relationships grow.

Book three in the Coven of Desire series continues with a new character. Daniel Lu, a ghost who Layla our FMC finds a connection with while attempting to find his murderer which brings a new dynamic to her relationships with Ink and Cal. I also loved that we delved a bit more into Layla’s background with her mother’s death which throws up more questions… As always we have lots of spice, plenty of action, plot twists, mystery, adventure and more questions that I need answers for! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next in this paranormal series!

I've read several books written by Ellen Mint; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the third book in the Coven of Desire Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Layla; she a busy college student with two boyfriends and now a mystery into the death of Daniel. He was killed before she was born but when his ghost appears she’s determined to solve the mystery of his death.

While trying to avoid trouble from demons and find more information about the elusive Mr White, Layla stumbles into Daniel and becomes immersed in his past - and why he is now a ghost.
We see a different side of Ink as Layla continues to live with the Why Choose motto.

It did take me a little while to get into reading Whisper but once I did I enjoyed the twists to the storyline as Ellen Mint continues to take us through super natural intrigue.

This is the third novel in Coven of Desire and you do need to read this series in order.

While this was not an action road trip like the last book there was just as much adventure with Layla and the gang while sticking close to home. I love how real life plays a big factor in the storyline as much as the witches and monsters. Secrets are uncovered and will lead to issues in the future but for now the group has a helpful ghost who may or may not have ties to Mr. White. Did not expect the twists and curious to see where they head next.

Book 3

I hate to say it but the plot is petering out for me. This book introduces a fourth character (third male) to the “coven” and I honestly just don’t get it. The MFC was all over the place and the way she attached to the newest member of her harem was flighty to me.
There were also other threads that didn’t make sense or quite work out. I don’t know who killed Daniel and why. It’s unclear why the Marid was involved. This book seems like a wasted opportunity for me.

The Saga Continues

We are following Layla as she continues on her journey to harness her magic. Along the way she finds Daniel who is a ghost seemingly lost to time. She makes it her mission to help him and that could come at a great cost to her. This book is a wonderful continuation of Layla’s daily turmoil with her guys. It is really shaping up to be a wonderful mystery to solve. We are getting so many little pieces and I am so invested to find out the truth.

I quite enjoyed this one although I did again find Ink and Cal to be slightly irritating with the way they treat Layla. This book picks up pretty much where the last one left off and there are a whole load of twists and turns and new secrets - as well as some old ones - that I can’t wait to uncover the truth about.

And the Ghost Makes Three

There’s a lot going on in this story: a ghost in the library, a body to find, some red herrings on the Mr. White mystery, a new bad guy to defeat and more questions than answers. I liked the additional spice in this story, plus there’s plenty of action to boot. An extensive and entertaining read.

Pretty good
I like the pacing in this story. Layla gets physically closer to her harem and the plot really thickens as more is revealed. Of course, that now means I have more questions that ever. Probably my favorite one from this series so far. Can’t wait for the next book!
