Christianity is not a philosophy; it is a person—Jesus—and his work on the cross. And in Christianity, that should be the main thing. So why do we keep adding to it? Grace Place founding pastor, Clay Peck, grew up in a fundamentalist religious system that was all about rules and a Christ-plus-something message. Discovering the true gospel of grace finally liberated him. In The Main Thing Peck shares the lessons he learned through the struggle to be free in Christ. This forty-day devotional shows you how to• Accept a freedom worth fighting for• Stand firm in the gospel• Live a Spirit-led lifeDiscover God’s great gift of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, based on Christ’s perfect, finished work alone. Plus nothing. Period.
Well written, The Main Thing guides you through the book of Galatians in a way that is easy to understand and leaves you thinking with questions at the end of each chapter to help you unpack what you just read and apply it to your own life. It's easy to fit into your day as each chapter is short and to the point, and filled with analogies and stories that help you think about the gospel from a whole new perspective. I will never read Galatians the same way!
This book was a fantastically coordinated prose with a solid biblical foundation. Pastor Clay's approach to understanding the importance of Grace and mercy over a historically legalistic Christian stigma is eye opening. I bought this book for every man in my Bible study and it was very well received. Can't wait for his next work. Both Clay and Jesus.
This is a fantastic book to unpack the hard things Paul says in the biblical book of Galatians. The door is slammed hard on legalism and the gospel of grace takes the stage in this encouraging theological book. I appreciated the clear teaching on such a deep subject.
