Wow a wild ride with a cocky cowboy. He was quite the jerk at first, but ironed out himself as the book went on. Some really rough sexy parts. I still didn’t get is mom and dad’s story, it just didn’t jive with me. Quick easy dirty read.

Once again, Ms.Piper has delivered a cracker of a story with it's many
layers of complexity. How I enjoyed peeling off each layer and getting
inside the characters minds. Both Jack and Madisen are strong minded
individuals who don't give an inch but needed to find a way to work
together to find a solution to their problems.

The intensity between Jack and Madisen was like a wildfire. Once started
it was hard to contain.Madesen was a powerhouse. A force to be reckoned
with, but she was no match for Jack. He did not hesitate to take the wind
out of her sails. Jack was the complete package. Sexy, wild, dangerous, and
dominant. Waves of anger crackled between them until they learnt to work
together. How I enjoyed the show.

This was such an effortless read. There was an exciting build-up and pace
that continued to grow and develop throughout the book. It contained
scorching hot, detailed, descriptive sex and punishment scenes. The sexual
tension between Jack and Madisen was thick. Their chemistry was off the
charts. This book was just too good to miss. Read and drool.

Terms of the will won’t let him sell and run so he’s stuck there with Madisen and he’s not too broken up about it!

Story 4/5, Heat 5/5, fast burn, no condoms, no virgins, some spankings, a bit of exhibitionism. The growing romance between Madisen and Jake was one of the best parts of this. Two damaged people who were just what the other needed.

This book is so good, you won’t regret adding this one to your read shelf!

They continue to verbally spar each other and he doesn't like her filthy mouth so he decides to take matters into his own hands. That encounter has her chasing him down to his hotel room which leads to a night of steamy sex and no names exchanged. Only to see each other in the lawyers office during the reading of the will. Now they have to work together because as he just found out the father he never knew apparently raised her after her family died and left part of the ranch and oil field corporation to her and he can't sell the property due to stipulations of the will. Now he also discovers there have been threats, accidents and sabotage at the oil fields. There is something sinister going on and he will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of it and to protect Madisen.
Their chemistry is undeniable but can they get past their stubbornness, and let their walls down ,trust and they just might discover that they might be what each other needs to heal all the shattered and broken pieces.

I loved this quote from the book when Madisen and Jake were talking about tuff times in their lives......

“As Rutherford Wallace told me from the beginning, there are reasons for everything in life, but sometimes we have to endure pain and heartache in order to find it out.”

This book had a really good storyline and the characters were well written. It had suspense, danger, angst, saddness, pain, heartache,humor, dirty sex, passion, happiness and love.

Piper Stone has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Madisen and Jake. Jake was a rodeo star and went out on an injury. Now he is trying to make a comeback. He is a hothead and easy to make mad. When he is about to go on his ride, the two commentators say something he doesn't like. After his record-breaking ride, he goes up to their box and hits one of them. This gets him in trouble with his manager Mike. Mike tells him that he received a letter for him the day before. Jake asked, "What is it?" Mike tells him it is a letter from an attorney from Oklahoma. When Jake reads the letter, he said: "What the hell is this?" as he hands the letter to Mike. When Mike reads the letter, he said "It would appear that your father has left you a substantial ranch and oil field corporation in Oklahoma. "I don't have a father, Mike. You already know that. They talk for a few more minutes and Jake leaves. Jake wants to know more about Rutherford Wallace. He goes to see his mother and asks her about the man. After they talk, his mother makes him promise to go to the funeral and to see the attorney. Jake has made up his mind that he is going to sell the ranch and oil company even before he gets to Oklahoma. Things do not work the way Jake wants when he gets to Oklahoma. At the restaurant he goes to, he sees a woman with a tough attitude. Jake doesn't take what she is dishing out and gives her a spanking in the middle of the restaurant. She goes after him when he leaves and things don't go well for her when she finds him. He takes her any way he wants. The next day when he goes to the attorney's office, he is shocked to see the woman again. He finds out that she is Madisen, part-owner of the ranch and oil company. Things do not go well for them at this point. They find out that the ranch can't be sold for two years and they have to work together. Madisen is shocked to learn that Jake was left 60% and she was left only 40% of the ranch and oil company. At every turn, Madisen gives Jake a hard time and in return, he gives her a lesson in being a lady. Again he takes what he wants from her. Things are happening on the oil rig that is causing problems with the contracts they have. Someone wants to shut it down.
Can Madisen and Jake work together and find out what is going on?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This was a story that will not be for everyone with some violent to non-consensual sex. Jake "Thunder" Travers was a famous bullrider trying to make a come back after a serious accident. The day of his comeback after making a record breaking ride, he received a letter from an attorney regarding the estate of the father he never knew. He left Montana for Oklahoma at his mother's request to check it out. When he gets there he goes to a BBQ bar/restaurant with a boxing ring to eat, while there he see this woman boxer with a fowl mouth that takes exception of how he looks and talks to her. They end up having an altercation in the restaurant and he paddles her. She does not know enough to leave well enough alone and follows him to his hotel, where he forces her to spend the night. The next day was his father's funeral, where he only went to the grave side to pay his respects. He went to meet the attorney later that afternoon, where he met the woman from the night before again. His father had been her guardian, since she was age seven when her parents had been killed in an auto accident. Madisen Falwell had learned all the ends and outs of running Big Horn Ranch and West Coast Oil from Rutherford's side over the years. Rutherford left his house to Jake and Madisen had her own house on the ranch, Rutherford had built for her. Everything else was left sixty percent to Jake and forty to Madisen, plus they could not sell for two years, which Jake wanted to sell now heading back to Montana. Only they had bigger problems than that someone was causing trouble on the ranch and the riggs. The accidents continued to get worse with each one and more frequent. They knew who was behind them, but they had no evidence. Jake and Madisen had an undeniable attraction between them with an inability to keep their hands off each other. Everyday they grew closer together, and one thing about a Montana Cowboy you do not mess with anything that they consider belongs to them. This book has lots of action keeping you on the edge of your chair gripped in the arms of the mystery and intrigue.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with. Two broken souls who can heal each other if they just let go of all the anger or better yet put it to good use (in other ways 😊). Jake is a sexy as all get out bull rider with a lot of issues, he is reckless and a temper that will have you running oh, let’s not forget popular with the ladies. After being hurt his attitude only got worse, add to that a father he didn’t know existed past away leaving him ranch/oil lands and add to that a mother who makes him promise to attend the services. Madisen well she is strong, feisty, will get down & dirty with you, if need be, standing up for herself is easy and a mouth that will send most running. Jake and Madisen meet when she gets into a fight at the local diner and yep you guessed it he steps in but the chemistry can’t be contained with them and that magnetic pull can’t be ignored so the fight leads them to his hotel room. The next morning, they find themselves sitting listening to a will being read stating they are both the owners of the ranch/oil lands left to them by his father who happen to have raised her thus throwing them together. Jake wants to sell but stipulation put into place preventing him from selling leaving him to work and live along side Madisen. But along the way there are threats, accidents, sabotage among other things and he will do what it takes to figure out who is behind them and to protect Madisen, but will she learn to work with him (they must work together to solve the issue), will she allow him to protect her (even though she has been doing fine on her own) and can they find something more?

Jake and Madisen meet in a very unusual way which ends up taking them on a very steamy Rough Ride and the beginning of some intriguing events for the two of them to have to work out together or risk losing everything. This is a very good story a ton of emotions some of which are sadness, heartache, anger, danger, suspense, sabotage, angst, attempted kidnapping, rough spankings, discipline, humor and hot hot hot chemistry. Jake “Thunder” is a star rodeo bull rider that has a hot temper in and out of the arena along with being quite the ladies man. He is trying to get back his status after getting back on the bull from an injury the doctor’s told him its time to walk away while he still can. He learns the father he never knew has left him co-owner with a female he doesn’t know a very profitable ranch and oil field in Oklahoma. So he goes to appease his mother, knowing he is just going to sell out and walk away. Period. Done with it!! He meets his co-owner who just happens to be his little tryst he had when he first came to town! Madisen. They together find out there are stipulations to the will and Jake begins to learn there are some pretty scary situations going on around the oil rigs and the ranch and he has made up his mind that he will do whatever it takes to protect Madisen. This you are not going to want to put down, you will be turning pages as fast as you can read the words. Will Jake and Madisen be able to set aside their stubbornness and determination and always making their own decisions and work together? Will they be able to figure out what’s going on with the strange events and goings ons? Can they have their HEA? “Rough Ride: A Cowboy Romance” by Piper Stone is a book that may startle you if you aren’t yet familiar with the author’s style. Jake is a guy who takes it upon himself to ‘punish’ Madisen shortly after seeing her, and he does it in a public setting. There are plenty of witnesses and most of them cheer for him. Understandably furious, she actually follows him back to his motel and they have a non-consensual sexual encounter. If it was real life and not fiction, it would all be horrifying. Remember that it is fiction though, because you can accept that part of the story the rest of it is quite good and gets increasingly complex..

Jake is a tough, successful rodeo cowboy. When the father he never knew dies and leaves Jake the majority share of his business empire, Jake’s world is turned upside down in multiple ways. Without revealing too much about the plot, I can tell you that Jake ends up having to deal with Madisen in ways he never expected after the night they first met and had such explosive interactions. Madisen herself is a very strong woman with hidden talents and a more sensitive heart than that which she lets anybody see. There are dangerous incidents of sabotage, long-held family secrets, unexpected characters, and chaos that even a strong cowboy can’t control. Overall, it’s an interesting story with more depth than you might expect.

A disturbing view on rough romance.

Dark romance is a genre that I usually really enjoy and my acceptance threshold is pretty damn dark. Somehow, this book managed to be unsettling without even being that dark. I feel like a champion for even powering through the whole thing.

The only reason why I kept reading was that I wanted to be able to say something about the plot. And I gotta say that the plot is decent. I liked the "villains" and the way the story flowed if we are looking at it as a bullet point progression.

Now what I did not like was the view on women. If it would have just been the men around but not also Jake I would have been fine. But Jake had a very similar "girls belong at home" view and yet he had the audacity to be enraged at the same view in other men.

Another thing that I did not like was Jake. Even just before he met Madisen, he was such an immature person. I kept feeling like he was a child throwing a tantrum. And then his first meeting with Madisen was just horrific in my eyes. While not the activities themselves were my problem, his view on things was. Did he take her lower lip quivering as consent? In what world is that ok? If this was a dark, dark romance and it was forced from the get-go, I would have been fine. But he kept forcing her and in his head, he thought it was fine.

This book was a struggle to get through. I did like the idea of the oil rig mystery. I always appreciate a good cowboy romance. My understanding was there was also a working ranch in Oklahoma, but it was barely discussed.

I didn't like either of the main characters. There was a level of immaturity in Jake that was completely unappealing. I can't imagine his temper tantrums were attractive to anyone. Now that I think about it, both Jake and Madisen should have spent some time in anger management classes. Neither of them seemed to understand adulting is hard.

That scene in the bar was offensive from both parties. Public humiliation and assault. That was supposed to hide the chemistry and sexual attraction I guess. But what really irritated me was the Jekyll and Hyde imitation they both did. Jake was either spanking Madison or forcing her to have sex. Madison spent the beginning of the book spewing vitriol every chance she got.

At some point it became acceptable and there was suddenly all of this concern and togetherness. I don't know if they had known each other for a week. I think, at least for me, this book didn't work because both characters were so extremely unlikable at the beginning. There was never anything that made me like them better.

This is one of those books that I think you will have to read and judge for yourself.

I had great hopes for this book as I have only read a few stories involving the oil industry but right away I didn’t really care for either main character though both did improve as the story continued. Stormy Nights books seem to carry a warning that these books are fantasies and meant for adults only. I think this warning should be put right at the beginning of each actual story. When Kindles open at the book’s start the warning is missed. It is a good thing to remember because this story goes quickly from a public spanking to what is actually a rape. Of course Madisen enjoy’s the event. In all these books that is seen to be sufficient to make the rape acceptable. However what put me off was that at every impending danger or disaster the two, Jake aka Thunder and Madisen, have sex. Jake is afraid that Madisen may be attacked, well let’s immediately fall into bed. A narrow escape from a tornado and in a house that may be torn to pieces? Let’s have sex. Strange people. Also the author uses the word coy to describe Madisen in several spots. Coy is not a flattering word. Look up it’s definition and I think you will find that heroines are not usually called coy. I did enjoy some of the book and the sex in danger scenes made me laugh. If I was in danger I don’t think sex would be the first thing on my mind.

Jake "Thunder" Travers is a washed up rodeo cowboy, unsure of where to go next when he is notified that his father has died. He finds himself in Oklahoma, 60% owner of a ranch and oil fields, partnered up with Madisen, his father's ward. Neither is particularly interested in working together, but when they are close, sparks fly. She is sassy, mouthy and abrasive, which leads the cowboy to spank her bottom red. They will have to work together to stop the sabotage and threats to the ranch.
Jake is as rough as they come, but has a romantic side I could not help but smile at. Madisen is just as broken as he is, and is lost without her father. The two get their happy ever after, and Jake finds peace walking away from his rodeo career. It is a solid five star read, perfect for those who love a bad cowboy redeemed by the right woman.

This is one hot cowboy! This book brings us Jake "Thunder" Travis, a star bull rider who has had multiple injuries, but on his last ride, actually stayed on the bull for a full 13 seconds. He was angry however, and when he got into a fight, he re-injured himself. Jake was a person who wore his emotions openly - whether good or bad. He meets Madisen Falwell, a boxer, who is no nonsense herself. She also takes no prisoners. There is something about Jake that awakens her, and the sex scenes are on fire! Jake is in the town to read a will from his father who he never knew, and really wants no part in whatever is in the will. Come to find out that Madisen was living with his father as he was her guardian. Jake's father made it clear that they were BOTH to run the ranch and oil field that was left to them, or they had to give it to the state. This was a wild ride, with such stubborn, yet loving people. I highly recommend this book. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book when I first started to read it, but as I get further into the story, it really started to grow on me. Jake was on a revival of his rodeo career but when a letter informs him of his father's death. He goes to find out what the man was about. It's almost a finding yourself type of read with danger and bad boy cowboys and a feisty woman along for the ride. I enjoyed Madisen's character. She had already proved herself in the oilfield but she still felt empty and alone. At the beginning of the book when they first meet, I would say it's a dub-con moment as I felt she didn't really want to be with jake and some readers might find this as a trigger. Once you get over that, you see their relationship for what it is, dark and filthy, but in the end it turns in a way even Jake never saw coming. Great read.

OK...I was NOT ready!! This is book that shouldn't be left around for just any old body to find!! I think it passed rated R before the first 10 pages were completed. Madisen (Rig queen) and Jake (Rodeo king) together had chemistry that was off the charts. She bit off a little more than she could chew when she decided to charge this rodeo cowboy. Rough?? That's a tame way to put it. There was so much going on that even acts of nature coiuldn't keep them apart. Madisen managed to do what others couldn't before...tame the beast to a certain extent. There were emotion-touching moments along with suspense underneath all the VERY colorful words and punishments. Can these authors leave God out of their curse words???!! Geez!!

This was a really good read. Jake Travers was a bull rider and trying to make a comeback after a serious injury. When he discovers that he has inherited an oil ranch in Oklahoma from his father, who he never knew, he’s not sure he wants to accept it. His mother never told him who his father was and he hated the man that let his mother struggle raising him. Then he meets Madison not knowing that she is part of his father’s household. After her parents died in a car accident, Rutherford Wallace became her guardian and raised her like a daughter. Good storyline with angst, suspense, twists and turns, domestic discipline, hot chemistry and. Deeper feelings. I enjoyed this read.

Two angry people start off their relationship with a public spanking, not the most auspicious start especially when they find out they will have to work together. Jake is a cowboy who finds out he has an inheritance a father he didn’t know about and Madisen is a roughneck and the ward of the same man. There are two mysteries in this book, one dealing with the ranch and one dealing with Jake’s parents. There is so much happening in this story from sabotage, ex boyfriends and tornados as well as angry sex and sweet loving sex both of which are hot, hot, hot and lead to a very sweet ending. A really enjoyable read.

When Jake's father (who he never knew) died he left his company to Jake, he didn't want the company so decided to sell it. In the town where the company is based he met Madisen in the local bar. The sparks fly almost immediately she's something of a brat but she has no difficulty turning on his alpha dom side. It turns out that Madisen's adoptive father was Jake's dad and they find themselves sharing the company.

The chemistry between these two is off the charts, despite having different desires, and not want anything to do with each other the sparks just can't be ignored. He's a Dom who wants to own her, she's reluctant for such a commitment, will they be able to work something out?

This book is awesome. If you love hot cowboys and sexy times then this is the book for you. Jake was a character who snuck up on me and surprised the heck out of me. Madisen was no simpering maiden who could give as good as she got. If you all the delicious detail between the two you will just have to buy the book. I do caution you to make sure you have enough time to read from start to finish or if you start reading at night you do not mind doing without sleep because you are not going to sleep ntil you finish the book.

Jake did not know his father because his father was given a choice if he went to Jake’s mum his family would disinherited him, or he can leave Jake’s mum and still be with his family. The very first time Jake herd about his father a couple days before his funeral, then he found that he owns his father's house and a 60% of the Ranch and the oil Riggs, and 40% was given to Maddison, the chemistry between them was intense hot fiery with lots of delicious heated spankings considering he is a Dom. Loved it worth getting to read yourself.

Lots of sex but a great story! Jake aka Thunder is a tough reckless bull rider who has subjected his body to untold injuries both from the rodeo and from bar fights. He was raised by a single mother and never knew his father, which makes him angry and resentful. To his utter bewilderment he receives a letter saying his father has died and he has an inheritance. His mother urges him to go, pay his respects, and find out what he has inherited. He finds sexy Madisen, his father's ward and co-inheritor. Great plot concerning the oil industry and sabotage from unscrupulous powerful men. Lots of sex including discipline and spankings, but also romance. Quick paced and very enjoyable.

Holding down a woman over your knee and spanking her in front of a bar full of people isn't the usual way to start a relationship with said woman who ends up holding your heart in her hands.
This though is the way Jake and Madisen start their journey to a HEA and in between there's animosity, sabotage of an oil rig by fire and contamination of the oil itself.
There's so much going on in this story it makes it a really great read.

Very interesting first meeting that lead to some rather steamy events, but the second meeting was a no go all the way. Madisen and Jake have to work together even if harder than anything. The story was really a good one. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts, but how they faced the outside challenges was awesome. The ending was super cool. It is bit of a complex story due to some of the threads woven into the book but that just made this book hard to put down. They have to work together to figure out what is going wrong with their inheritance. The characters have strength and chemistry, starting from the night before the will is read. The storyline has plenty of spark, drama, mystery, twists and surprises. Loved the two as they grow to find love in situations that surprise them. Great ending.

Wow 🤩. Let me tell you the best part of this book was not the sex scenes. Nope the best part was the story plot. Piper Stone you drew me in with your series The Montana Bad Boys, (which if you haven’t read I strongly recommend), and now this story. It was so moving. Jake never knew his father. Madisen was like a daughter to Jake’s father. Jake thought his dad was some terrible guy who left his mom but he found out the truth. And in the process he found a peace of mind and love. Great Read Indeed. 😁🌟❤️. Sex scenes were okay a little over the top..

Get your spurs on for Rough Ride as you will need them to hold on while reading this white hot bucking bronc of a story. I really enjoyed this nicely crafted story-line and the sizzle between the characters, both between the sheets and out of them, will have you fanning yourself.
