GUY WALKS INTO A STRIP CLUB…
AND COMES OUT FILTHY RICH

Down-and-out comedian “Filthy" Rich wasn’t always living on the edge-- he was once famous. Now he tells viciously dirty jokes in the seediest possible strip clubs--his routine is so filthy that it’s actually illegal, since 1960’s Chicago has harsh blue laws.
Rich wasn’t always living on the edge, though-- he was once famous for a clean routine, until his estranged wife ran off with Rich’s best jokes. With his act missing, he’s hellbent on tracking down the missing dame before he gets caught spewing the grossest jokes this side of Lake Michigan.

Enter Lou Fleener-- expert streetfighter and ace private eye. Rich hires Lou to find the missing jokes-- and the wayward wife. Which seems easy enough, right? But unfortunately, Lou’s clues lead him down a perilous rabbit hole of deceit, lies, and frame ups.

Plus, the irrepressible Cassidy, his wife turned partner-in-crime, and Monk, his improbably handsome yet socially awkward best friend, are knee deep in their own rollicking thrillers. The whole team is in imminent danger, each facing their own bad guy. And to top it all off, this team of witty Chicago sleuths is flat broke.

Again.

This was another 5 star book. I have enjoyed reading about Lou and Cassidy Fleener as Private Investigators

The books are funny! The are from the 1960s and everything is very cheap. Lou has a problem with inventing different things. In this book he wants to put wheels on suitcases. Which as we know at this time in history it is on all suitcases.

He has these ideas but does not follow up on them!

This book is about Lou starting up his PI office again without his wife. It is stopped before it becomes a working PI office, but he sticks it out and finally gets a case that he solves right away.

These books are very well written and funny!

I've missed them

Lou, Monk, and Cassidy! Oh, how I've missed these three. I'm going to be sad when the series ends (and, this might be it) but, I enjoy the time I spend with the characters. In this book, they go their separate ways to retrieve the money due to them (or, in Lou's case, by doing what he always does), and they come back together "filthy rich". That's all I'll say so I don't ruin the book for you. However, one last thing - the author could have used a better editor or maybe an ARC reader with a good eye for typos since I found quite a lot of them. Or, maybe the copy I received was an unedited version??? But, I'm not complaining because I got to spend time with three of my favorite characters plus one.

Although this series is entertaining, I was constantly frustrated by the lack of proof-reading. In a couple chapters, conversation comments were credited to a person who was not even in the chapter!! Often wrong words are used-I'm guessing because they let the spell checker decide on the word instead of re-reading the flagged area. This happened often enough that it greatly reduced my enjoyment of the book. In one instance, I never did figure out what was intended by a sentence and finally passed it by, assuming I had the gist of the page anyway.

Three fun stories in one book.

I greatly enjoyed this book. So many unexpected twists and turns! Three fun stories in one book. None of them turned out the way I expected them to but it was a lot of fun to read this book. There was a lot of character development and not only did I learn more about the three main characters, they learned about themselves. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series.

Enjoyed book

I've read all the books and while I found them enjoyable it seemed Luke the characters don't have any growth. Maybe I would have enjoyed them more if I had not read the full series, one right after the other. Still it was a fun read.

Not as good as the six books that came before it, but not so bad that I wont read the next one in the series. I do suggest you read this book, understanding that the books that preceded it were better.

Good story, surprise developments, and wraps up the series well. Oddly enough, there are some sections that are virtual repeats of parts earlier in the book. Almost like the scenes were rewritten but the author forgot to remove all of the earlier version.

Should be a TV series

Another good story with Lou and the rest of the gang. Funny with good plots that keep rolling along. Lou's future inventions are all funny to read. Well worth reading this series.

Perfect!

This series has been fantastic to read. Maybe this one is the best of all. Mr Lindsey is a great story teller and I look forward to reading his next book.

Lots of typos in this one. Wrong character, words spelled incorrectly. Was distracting from the story.

I did not finish FILTHY RICH. It was filthy, nasty, full of foul language, and offensive. All the humor of the previous Lou Fleener stories is missing. SO disappointed.

Great story

Really enjoyed this one. Too bad not everyone realized their good fortune, Lydda and George, but seems like everyone got what they earned.

Just Wow

What a story! Lou Fleener, Cassidy & Monk are at it again! Their exploits seem never ending! There are so many twists and turns, it’s hard to keep up at times. This is a must read mystery!
