Evan continues his quest to find the other Noble Swords, but he must once again leave the shores of Rahma. This time, the Dragon Lord and his crew find themselves in the snowy kingdom of Odrein, and luckily for them, there are two Nobles of the Sword to bond with. Unfortunately, magic is outlawed in this kingdom, so Evan will first have to gain their trust.
This one was atrocious…. It had its good parts but this whole book reminded me of politics… I couldn’t stand it… it was just regurgitating over and over people forcing their views upon one another… Evan going to some place and changing the way laws that have been written because he doesn’t agree with their traditions and then listen to page after page of preaching and grandstanding on soapboxes… I swear it was blue vs red… it’s all I saw, eventually it was like he peanuts teacher waaaa waaa waahhh waaa over and over. I found myself actually skimming through the pages and that’s something I haven’t done. Then listening to the queen preach, the uncle preach back and forth I was like wow are you serious right now. I normally finish these books super fast but this one took foreverrrr to finish it seemed because I had to keep taking breaks because it was mentally exhausting. Begging for the life of guilty people, then once again the most powerful person on the planet cannot take down one mage with the help of 4 other nobles of the sword, a phoenix, a bear warrior, the most powerful priestess and all of the noble sword spirits.. it was like the keystone cops. Half the book we have Evan growling and making empty threats and shooting fire like he always does that ends nowhere. Sighs. Yeah😑🫥 the end of the book had quite the plot twist, but once again it’s going to be interesting how Evan handles this. I see how Vall is going to do this… the very last book he’s going to make all the mates pregnant and we’ll get 2 pages of babies and the 20 something book series will end like that. We should be having kids by now… seriously, Alyona mentioned magical ways to prevent “those things” but not everyone in his “family” has magic and as Vall loves to reiterate and reinforce the 🐉 seed being shared by the litre why aren’t more in the family having little Evans? So I’m starting to slowly get disappointed and discouraged with the rest of the series here.

Dragon Emperor is, in my personal opinion, among the top 3 series Eric Vall has released and I always enjoy seeing the next book in the series.
This introduces us to new lands beyond Rahma and across the oceans to a realm that is suspicious of magic to continue Lord Evans important quest to save the world.
The characters they meet are intriguing and loveable while the local problems kept you turning the pages!
Definitely keen to read the next and await its release eagerly!
This was an interesting entry in Dragon Emperor. Evan and his team go to a new land, new nation and meet some interesting people. Ones steeped in and suffering under tradition from generations ago. But a nice twist with the Swords of the Nobles exists in this land as well. Another enjoyable entry in the series if a bit slow compared to older entries. The cliffhanger ending is a good one though and definitely makes the new book in the series even more appealing.
Lord Evan and his crew of beauties are seeking more nobles of the sword and come to a land where magic is outlawed. This complicates things for his magical group. His diplomatic skills are challenged since he may have to knock heads to protect his friends. I like the action, humor, lust/love, and political intrigue. I look forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I was entertained from the start. It is always a pleasure to return to Lord Evan and his world. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
This story never disappoints it is truly an epic adventure on a truly grand scale. The characters and world building are incredible! I cannot wait for the next one!
Book 18 sees the quest to unite the noble swords continue. A new location and new demi humans. This series just continues to grow and it is no wonder it is Eric Valls best selling series. Another great addition and well worth the read.
LETS GO!!! The whole snow change and no magic way was interesting!!! I liked it and I can’t wait for what the cliff hanger had installed for us!!! I am so in love with this series!! I never want it to end!!
