I know better. I know better than to be complacent.
Finding my family was supposed to be a dream come true, but it’s only brought more questions, more secrets and forced family responsibilities. Surprisingly, Hawk is by my side while dealing with the utter ridiculousness our parents keep pushing on me. I’m learning how to have a brother and I think we might actually like each other?
Mason, West, and Beck have been my saving grace, patient and kind. Still distant, Cam and I are trying to navigate a way to be around each other.
But just when I start to feel like I have a life worth living with my guys and my new friends, my deepest fear comes back to haunt me.
He knows. He knows the truth and where to find me.
My walls are coming down and I’m learning to love, but my past may ruin it all.
This book is a dark, contemporary, new adult reverse harem romance, meaning the FMC will end up with 3+ love interests. Please note there are trigger warnings for emotional and physical abuse and sexual assault and it contains scenes of a violent and graphic nature.
My name is Rachel. I live in the UK with my husband and two golden retrievers, and I am an author of dark, contemporary reverse harem romance.
If you love a story with a well thought out plot and good character development that will give you all the feels, then why not give one of my series a go?
This series keeps getting better and better. Book 3 brought SO much to the ongoing story and it brought out so many different emotions. My heartbeat was erratic while reading this goodness. I was sucked in and couldn't put it down until I got to the very last page. Then I didn't know if I wanted to cry or throw my kindle. Ok, both will work.
I adore all the guys so hard. West, Mason, Beck and Cam all hold a special place in my heart. Hawk is quickly becoming a favorite as well. The new addition to the crew was interesting. Looking forward to see what will happen with that.
Hadley is one of the best heroines I've read about. She is strongly independent, but is slowly allowing the guys to break down her walls. Little by little with each hug, each kiss, each sweet caress, with sweet words whispered in the dark.
That ending broke me. December better get here FAST!!

YES. Now I want the next book, f'ing NOW. Glad that I have its ARC. Like, who needs sleep? F' Sleep.
So before I go read the last (😭) book in this series, I'm gonna rant about how the 3rd book in "Pacific Prep" series, BEYOND VENGEANCE is. So buckle up! It's gonna be wild 1st thoughts (need to be level-headed for the review btw).
I needed courage to start this book & then i couldn't be stopped, devoured it in 8hrs. If I haven't made it clear, I LOVE this book. Like WOW. Like 😍🤣💘🤯🥰😭. It left me speechless, yet so many.
1st of all, if I hadn't loved Hadley already, I would've so irrevocably fallen for her here. Her strength, Heart, resilience & vulnerability even after all she's been through astounds me.
Then our guys, They're awesome here. West, Beck, Mason, Cam & even Hawk. I absolutely adored the relationship & love building here. The opening up sweet & sexy times so hot! I'm so happy, especially for'em! Plus, So many truths found here!!
Also, the sibling-like bond b/w Hawk & Hadley (& B+W) is so sweet. I love its progress. Plus, Emilia's an awesome friend to Hadley!
This book like the previous ones throws many curve balls too. (Wilder is an interesting fellow!) I laugh, I swoon & I ugly cried, especially at last chapters. 😭😭😭🤯
This series by @rasmythauthor is going SO good. She made me want to google 100 ways to torture the villain here (I HATE Lawrence & all guards of Compound so freaking much). Plus, made me root for an entitled asshole who isn't that bad, & I actually called him sweetie many times in my mind *cough* Hawk *cough*.
God that end though, such grueling cliffhanger with a flash of hope. I have hope in our 6 & their relationship. I'M SURE they're gonna make this trafficking empire FALL. Bring the parents f'ing DOWN.
I want my 6 to get their HEA so damn much. 😭. Off reading the finale now!!
While every book in this series has been a 4 ⭐️ for me, the series itself keeps getting better. Usually book 3 is a lot of filler but this book rocked!!
This series just gets better and better!! Action packed suspense...
I love Hadley! Yeah, she's hiding things, but I get it. Hawk is becoming more protective of her (there's a bit at the end that had me crying), and West is finally accepting Beck. I'm so glad that Hadley made Cam come around and that he didn't shut back down after discovering something that occurred. I love Hadley's relationship with Mason, well with Cam, West, and Beck, too.
OMG. OMG. OMG. Honestly, this book could be described in three words: Oh My God.
I looove this series so much and this is probably the best book of the series so far! I’m a sucker for character development and it is off the freaking charts in this series.
Hawk is hands down my favorite character of the series which surprises me (for obvious reasons). He has shown the most changes to himself with each book and how he is with Hadley in this book makes my heart so happy.
I’m super curious about the new character we were introduced to this book; cannot wait to see where this is going.
Is death by cliffhanger a thing? Because I’m pretty sure I’m 6 feet under by that ending.
Edit: I’ve finally read this book and wow, I’m so disappointed. I have no words.
7 nov 2021: I have it in my kindle but I’ve heard that it end on an awful cliffhanger so I’m going to wait for the last book to be released 👀👀 this series is pretty addictive!
4.5⭐ rounding up because I love these characters so fng much and I love, love, love the relationship growth - really there’s just one thing that held me back from a full 5 stars which I’ll touch on below.
Totally hooked! So many twists and turns and a fierce FMC you’ll be cheering on!
A story with so many twists and turns, just buckle-in for the unexpected. More secrets are revealed, along with more twists. For every new discovery or reveal, I'd have a dozen new questions. The steam continues to pick up over the series with lots of sizzling chemistry. Beyond Vengeance is the third book in new Pacific Prep series - contemporary high school RH with enemies-to-lovers and bully, dark pasts, secrets and twists, told in Multi-POV, which I love for the added depth and connections to these characters - and it picks up right from the ending of the last book.
I absolutely love these characters, especially Hadley (who I’ve been majorly girl crushing on this whole series). She is everything I love seeing in a FMC - strong, fierce, smart, sarcastic, and balancing compassion, vulnerability and skilled badassery.
“...I have so much more to fight for now. I’m no longer trapped and, more importantly, I’m no longer alone.”
The characters are written richly layered, and I have loved seeing the various relationships continue to grow. And a new character introduced that instantly gave me loveable psycho vibes and I hope is an ally. I am so excited to follow these characters through their remaining growth arc and journey - anticipate broken characters who heal together and formed family tropes, which I absolutely love.
The main drawback for me was the lack of action or progress against the external threats - it felt like a lot of biding time until they have a better plan.... I get that it feels insurmountable, but I'm also eyeing their skills, resourcefulness and determination and yet.... 😕😒🤔
I still love this series and highly recommend it. There is a cliffhanger, which I honestly loved even though it was a bit of a gut punch, but the fourth and final book in the series isn't too far off and I look forward to it.
LET ME TAKE A BREATH.. 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭. These guys are serious alphaholes but bring the romance and their a gamee. *𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲*
I love that we are seeing them join and unite. Hawk, Cam, Mason, West & Beck are learning together and add in their addiction and protectiveness of Hadley and bam it's FIERCE.
Hawk and Hadley's relationship has really grown in strength and boy do i love their relationship. His alphaness and possessiveness to protect and her stubborn badassary vibe gives their dynamic as brother and sister a whole new level!
This book got me good. The number of emotions I went through had me questioning my sanity. Rachel went all out and then some with this book. We get to see relationships grow, feelings come out and learn more secrets about the parents organization and Hadley’s past.
We start off where we left off with Hadley going to meet her parents. There isn’t much of a warm welcome but honestly wasn’t expecting much from them. Hadley grows closer to the guys including Hawk. There are a good amount of touching moments. You see how far Hadley has come and opened up. Hawk won me over this book with his protectiveness of Hadley. He has definitely stepped up into the big brother role.
The guys are all amazing. Beck was my favorite last book, but the others caught up in this one. You can see how much they care about Hadley and have let her into the fold and their hearts. Cam is a bit awkward at first, but he slowly comes back around and to his normal self with her. We get to see more of the parents and how they are around their sons while the guys start to learn more about them and what they are involved in. There are a couple new characters introduced also, some good some who need to be shown an early death.
The last 20% was crazy. I knew going in things were about to get intense, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that dark. It didn’t take away from the story though and just has me craving the next book even more. I don’t know if I am more mad or hurt about what was happening. I can’t wait until the next book to see what is to come. I hope Hadley gets her revenge on those who hurt her and the guys finally take down their parents and the organization.
Wow wow wow! This series just keeps on getting better and better. Every book amazes me with how much more is bought to the story and how many more secrets are revealed.
The character development is also written flawlessly. It all feels so natural how the relationships are growing between people and the bonds they are creating are so strong and beautiful! Its a story about love as much as it is about the secrets.
Hadley & her harem have just grown stronger and stronger and I loved seeing how their feelings exploded in this one! Some of the scenes in this were off the chart 🥵 but there were also some really touching and sweet moments.
The sibling relationship between Hadley & Hawk is just amazing, I am loving witnessing that develop throughout the series and when he calls her Baby Davenport I just about melt 🥺
Overall, I just loved this book! It has mystery, suspense, steam but also love, friendships and siblings! It’s really an all rounder that just keeps you hooked and I cannot wait for the fourth and final book! 🤍
Devoured this book in 1 day I couldn't put it down! Also it got very dark so definitely make sure you check the trigger warnings!
5/5 ⭐️ 3.5-4/5 🌶 Series book 3 of 4 Reverse harem, Bully, HS (senior year) FMC: Hadley MMCs: So I haven't been giving any spoilers as to who the MMCs are but if you have made it this far into reading my reviews without starting the series I'm just going to tell you...Mason, Cam, West and Beck 😁 Multiple POV
So much to take in with this third book!
I don't like putting any spoilers in my reviews and this book is definitely alot to talk about without giving anything away. Just know that so much has happened and it's the most information we have received from all the secrets that were left unanswered in book 2. Also that ending was 😳
I will say if you read my previous review for book 2 I couldn't get a good read on how our FMC was so strong mentally in the beginning but then all of a sudden so quick to change to weak and this book definitely brought to light some of her struggles and it helped me understand more of what was going on. Now I definitely understand her back and forth especially with certain situations.
R.A. has done it again, this series just keeps get better and better and she is becoming one of my favorite cliff-hanger’s queens. 😱
I just couldn’t stop reading this book. Hadley/Elizabeth really came off as a bada*^ and proved to the girls who is the queen at PAC.
There were soo many emotions going on in my head as I read this book at different times. I felt happy, sad, mad, etc. I’m soo happy to see that Cam has finally accepted who he is and knows that he loves Hadley. These two are my absolute favorites followed by West. Omg the chemistry is off the chain.
I really can’t wait to read Book 4. It can’t come soon enough.
I couldn’t predict half of this if I tried. It was everything I never knew I needed. I didn’t know if I wanted to keep reading and reading or throw it down in disgust.
Oh my god!!! This book though! When I say I couldn't put it down. I could not put it down . in just 3 short hours i was cursing . Holy hell these boys ..could they get any hotter?!?! God I can not wait till book 4 . this is one of those books where you need to set the day aside and just keep reading!! Hands down a 10/10 for me
The Pacific Prep series is one of my favorite series and Beyond Vengeance is my favorite book of the series.
I mean wow! What R.A. Smyth has done in this book is amazing. I thought Hadley/Elizabeth was a strong baddie before, but this book shows how mind-blowingly strong she really is. The character development and relationship progress between Hadley and the guys were beautiful.
Hadley has always wanted a family. She’s wanted to know who her parents are and where she comes from. While in Beyond Vengeance she learns who her parents are, her true family is the guys. She has the support of her brother, her best friends, and the love of all her guys giving her the family she didn’t know she needed. Truths and secrets come to light and nothing will be the same for this family.
The shocking twists, turns, and emotions had me stunned. It took forever to write this review because I honestly had no words to describe how good this book and series are. I’m desperately waiting for Break Free for the conclusion of this dark reverse harem! I need to know how it all ends!!!!
The last 20% of Beyond Vengeance were so stressful and intense. I knew things were about to get bad they were bound to after Rachel's warning and everything was happy. Everything was fine and then Bam she hits you with this and now we have to wait to find out our answers.
Beyond Vengeance gives us more insight into Hadley and her past and the boys are shocked by what they discover all accept Beck. Beck is the one who gets Hadley the most as he is so much life her, different from the rich boys and their upbringings. He was the first to stand by her side and how her the loyalty and love she had never experienced before. As the oldest member of the group he feels very protective of them all and with his past he tries to protect all of them and let them be the kids they deserve to be for as long as he can. But he can't protect them from everything, only by working together and trusting one another can they protect Hadley.
Surprisingly in this story I have struggled to choose a favourite of Hadley's guys and I always have a favourite of the harem and its Beck. But for me my favourite male characters in the entire series is actually Hawk who is not a part of the harem considering he's her brother. Hadley's relationship with Hawk grows so much from the guy he was when they first met and I just love their sibling-relationship. He's the brother and the family that Hadley has been wanting her entire life even with his gruff manner and the way they like to antagonise each other makes me smile and shake my head every time.
R.A. Smyth also introduces a new character, Wilder who is amazing and just the friend Hadley needs. His wicked sense of humour and lack of self-preservation whilst taunting the boys was a breath of fresh air. His scenes made me laugh out loud so much and I wish he was apart of Hadley's harem but she has enough. Hadley has a lot of obstacles to navigate as her identity as a Davenport is finally revealed but even this doesn't stop Lawrence.
Will Hadley ever be safe from his evil clutches? Will the boys ever manage to break free of their parents control? Will Cam join finally join the harem? Will West ever let Beck in? I can't promise all these questions will be answered but you should definitely read it to find out for yourself.
Unsurprisingly, just like book one I could not have put this book down even if I tried! We get more insight of how truly twisted all of the parents are and it only gets worse once Hadley is brought into the fold. There is character development across so many relationships that gave me the warm fuzzies including Hawk and Hadley, Cam and Hadley, and West and Beck. Plus this book really put into perspective how far Hadley has come since joining Pacific Prep! Also can I just say that I LOVE HAWK acting as a protective big brother?! I think his character development has been my favorite so far and I felt like this book really highlighted that! Wilder was a wonderful side character that I absolutely adored and I hope we get to see more with him in the next book! By the end there is a lot going on and we have a better idea of why Cam's dad did what he did and what triggered him to go off the rails. I didn't expect the turn that this story takes in the epilogue but I absolutely love it and can't wait to see how it will play out in the final book! I have a feeling it's going to be AWESOME and set up the story for Smyth's future Black Creek series! Fair warning that some of the content in this book can get quite dark but if you've already read the earlier books then I feel like you'll already have an idea beforehand whether or not you'll find those themes triggering.
I can’t wait for #4 this book was so good!!! I love book three’s in a series because you finally start to get answers to questions you may have had and the revelations start to flow as well!!! In this book the relationships between Hadley and the boys truly solidify. I loved watching each relationship move to the next level🥰 and Cam😭*swoon*♥️ he is so cute!!! you’ll have to read to find out why!!! We also get more insight into the mental struggles Hadley has when it comes to Lawrence, which I really appreciated because as a reader sometimes we’re like WTF?! you’re suppose to be a bad ass beyotch!!! why aren’t you fighting him back?! I felt terrible for Hadley and ANGRY!!! I just hated everything she had to endure and still enduring. I want my girl to have the ultimate vengeance. As far as I’m concerned all the “parents” deserve wtf Hadley decides they deserve. I was hoping the twins parents were really going to come around to Hadley, but that was definitely not the case. Also, who is desperate for Hawk & Emilia to get together?! I totally was!!! We see her evolve in this book. She totally doesn’t take any of Hawk’s attitude and tells it like it is. I loved her in this book. Hawk has has no love interest in this series and I would totally love to see if there is something there for him and Emilia. All in all this book was amazing and keeps you on the edge of your seat!!! I can’t wait for the next one!!!
I would give up the last piece of my shriveled black heart for a peek at the first chapter of Break Free, that’s how invested I am in this incredible series.
*Sighs* I’ve been trying to put my love for Beyond Vengeance into words over the past few days but my brain STILL hasn’t been able to fully process everything. I’m STILL in shock and I’m still debating if I want to throw the book at R.A. Smyth for hurting Hadley AGAIN or shove her off her own damn cliffhanger…. Both… I think I want to do both.
I couldn’t even tell you the amount of times I balled my eyes out for poor Hadley. Finding out who your parents are after years of longing for a loving family only to have them be absolute shit stains is so unfair and heartbreaking. I do have to admit that Hadley’s bad luck in the parent lottery made me grow to love Hawk. He really has stepped up and tried to do right by Hadley! Ya know that trope where the grumpy asshole is only sweet to the person he loves? Yeah that’s Hawk but in brother form and it legit gives me all the warm fuzzies. I wish that was a more common theme in books after Pacific Prep because I absolutely love it!
Okay, that’s all I’ve processed thus far so I’m going to wrap up the review by saying this series is an absolute must read that belongs on your Kindle. Oh, and that I’ll be stalking R.A. until the next book releases because holy fucking shiznuts I’m addicted!
Wow 🤩 Rachel has completed smashed it out of the park with this series.
I was totally hooked in from the very beginning and each book has taken me little more than 1 hour to read. You are totally sucked in and you don’t want to leave.
The boys are just amazing and some new characters are brought in one of who I love 😊. Hadley shows once again why she is one of my favourite FMC’s she has been broken down so many times but she shows she is made of steel and fights for what she loves.
After book 2 Hawk was my new favourite the way he was with her and their relationship I absolutely loved. It totally continues and it’s great to see how they grow together.
I don’t want to say too much about the storyline itself as I do not want to spoil anything you really want to read this blind. There was some tear jerk sections in this book and I hope there are repercussions in book 4.
Rachel once again thank you for such an amazing series to get hooked into and I can’t wait for book 4 and then when you pop your paperback form up 🤣.
If you haven’t started this series yet, don’t delay go and get it now!!!
Just finished Beyond Vengeance and I am a ball of emotions. This series keeps getting better and keeps me on my toes. There were definitely some things I was not expecting!
I love Hadley! Yeah, she's hiding things, but I get it. Hawk is becoming more protective of her (there's a bit at the end that had me crying) and West is finally accepting Beck. I'm so glad that Hadley made Cam come around and that he didn't shut back down after discovering something that occurred. I love Hadley's relationship with Mason, well with Cam, West and Beck too.
My mind has been blown multiple times during reading this. I cannot wrap my head around some of the things that have happened. I have screamed, I have cried, I have wanted to shake them for keeping secrets.
Let's talk about that ending... I'm not crying. You're crying... ugh that cliffy, I feel broken. I am excited to see where it goes, excited for who we may see, excited for Hadley to pick that crown back up and be the bad bish we know she is. I cannot wait to see what happens in Break Free. It cannot come soon enough.
I’m still trying to turn the page to see what’s going to happen. Leaving it there was mean!! Also I love a cliffhanger, so I guess I got what I wanted. Hadley goes from awesome to epic in this. I love that she’s letting the guys in. Her relationship with Hawk is finally becoming more sibling than rivalries. Beck and West surprised me in this one and I adore Masons growly nature. Cam, finally!! I could say so much more but as always this is spoiler free. I loathe the Davenports and all of the parents. The students are finally bought to heel and I am here for some of the revenge Hadley gets. Book four can’t come quick enough for me. The revenge that all of these guys deserve to get will make it epic. A favourite series of 2021 for me. RH academy with a twist, you’ll love it.
Ma’am I don’t even know where to begin this is my absolute favorite book of the series and it is definitely my favorite series. I can’t even begin to explain how this authors writing just blows my mind with ever book. Hadley just blows my mind she is so strong so freaking fierce and never gives up. Her relationship with all the guys has grown so much and the love they all have for one another melts my little black heart. With so much happening and so much going on behind the scenes with the guys and their crazy messed up families everyone has to be on their toes and watch their backs. This book was so hard for me to review because I don’t want to give anything away and there is one of the most epic scenes and you will know it when you read it. It was completely perfect, didn’t see it coming and I balled like a flipping baby. This baby is 100000 stars all day long.
This book was another dark and spicy masterpiece. Watching Hadley go all bad*ss handling the girls was amazing. Seeing her pull from strength when there should be nothing left- is heartbreaking. This girl needs a happy ending more than anyone, and these guys are gonna give it to her. I loved watching the relationships progress more, and seeing Cam get his head out of his *ss finally. I absolutely can’t wait for all their parents to burn, and maybe a certain traitorous friend.
Im also loving Wilder, and absolutely adore Hawk.
I can not wait for more!! And I’m gonna need my boy Hawk to get a girl too in book 4 🤪
Seriously- go read this series! It is out of this world!
