. . . because who doesn’t want support with one of the most mysterious and misunderstood stages of life?

Sacred Death arrives just in time to help us with our current worldwide crisis. Our cultural conditioning moves us to suppress information and feelings around the dying process, and as healers we know that anything left buried will start to cause problems and eventually need to see the light of day.

Sacred Death provides a great array of experiences and perspectives to aid in this work. The sensitivity to the process is paramount as each contributing author grounds their tools for healing in their own story of passing through the death of someone close to them.

I really like the format-- the length of each contribution makes them all much more accessible, and the size of the book yields a lot of good material.

Impactful, beautifully written, rich with content.
This book is full of many deep, touching and inspirational moments. Each chapter is uniquely different and meaningful. Reading the stories, I can feel and relate to the pain and the heartache of losing a loved one, but I also feel the peace, love and beauty of this journey. Definitely not just a book about dying, but living your life with purpose and meaning as well! I will pick this book up often to read again and again and make use of the tools offered by each author.

A fantastic book of tools and tales to help us feel less alone and more empowered when faced with death. Each chapter is written by a different person who shares a story from their lives and a favourite tool that they found helpful in dealing with death.
A wide cross-section of cultural, spiritual, and surprisingly inspiring stories covering so many different losses. One of my favourite chapters was by Kendall Williams 'Creating Rituals to Say Goodbye'. I found her list of emotions experienced by the dying to be immensely insightful.
Here are the first two:
• Feeling helpless or useless
• Feeling scared, panic, anxiety, fear of the unknown

Sacred Death is so much more than the title suggests. To be invited into the world of each of contributor, to walk beside them as they share their deeply personal stories of life, death, grief and healing was an intensely intimate and sacred gift. My intention is to hold Sacred Death and each contributors' story and the tools they so generously share close - I know there's much more wisdom within these words to unpack over time. Sacred Death isn’t just for the dying - it’s for the living, and everything living a beautiful life entails.

This book was deeeeeeeply disappointing. There were some tools in it that were good - ones I'll use, in fact, or adapt. But it was also chock full of white woman nonsense in ways I could just not get past. All of the contributors seem well meaning, but ultimately, there are better books out there on the subject.

Eye opening

This book is an excellent view into how death affects those walking alongside their loved ones transitioning from this life. Extremely helpful read for me especially during this pandemic as a provider. Brings understanding to the process and our place.
