Millennium: Sylvain Runberg's Adaptation #2
MILLENNIUM GRAPHIC 2 - ΤΟ ΚΟΡΙΤΣΙ ΠΟΥ ΕΠΑΙΖΕ ΜΕ ΤΗ ΦΩΤΙΑ
Η Λίσμπετ Σαλάντερ, αυθεντία στους ηλεκτρονικούς υπολογιστές και στις πολεμικές τέχνες, είναι αδίστακτη τιμωρός, ιδιαίτερα όταν έχει να κάνει με περιπτώσεις κακοποίησης γυναικών. Δέχεται να βοηθήσει τον δημοσιογράφο Μίκαελ Μπλούμκβιστ στην έρευνα που έχει ξεκινήσει για τη βιομηχανία εμπορίου σαρκός. Βρίσκεται, όμως, μπλεγμένη σε μια διπλή δολοφονία, ενώ η αστυνομία την κυνηγά και για τρίτο φόνο. Καθώς οι σκοτεινές δυνάμεις της Σουηδίας είναι στο κατόπι της, η Λίσμπετ δεν έχει άλλη επιλογή: πρέπει να ξεσκεπάσει τους αληθινούς ενόχους πριν να είναι αργά για την ίδια της τη ζωή.
Με φόντο τη σουηδική πραγματικότητα την οποία γνωρίζει πολύ καλά ο σεναριογράφος Σιλβέν Ρουνμπέρ, το δεύτερο βιβλίο της τριλογίας του Στιγκ Λάρσον που γνώρισε παγκόσμια επιτυχία ζωντανεύει μέσα από την εντυπωσιακή εικαστική αναπαράσταση του Μαν.
Με φόντο τη σουηδική πραγματικότητα την οποία γνωρίζει πολύ καλά ο σεναριογράφος Σιλβέν Ρουνμπέρ, το δεύτερο βιβλίο της τριλογίας του Στιγκ Λάρσον που γνώρισε παγκόσμια επιτυχία ζωντανεύει μέσα από την εντυπωσιακή εικαστική αναπαράσταση του Μαν.

Έχει περάσει ένας χρόνος -και κάτι περισσότερο- από τότε που σχολιάσαμε το πρώτο graphic novel της σειράς "Millennium", που αποτελεί μεταφορά της τριλογίας του Stieg Larsson, που μπορεί να μην έζησε αρκετά για να χαρεί την επιτυχία του λογοτεχνικού του έργο αλλά το οποίο κατόρθωσε να μπει στις καρδιές μας και να μείνει για πάντα εκεί. Σήμερα, λοιπόν, επανερχόμαστε, με τον δεύτερο τόμο της σειράς, που όπως και ο πρώτος, φέρει την υπογραφή των Sylvain Runberg και José Homs οι οποίοι υπογράφουν το κείμενο και το σχέδιο αντίστοιχα. Και για μία ακόμα φορά, οι συνδυασμένες δυνάμεις των δυο τους, μας προσέφεραν ένα άρτιο και άκρως εντυπωσιακό αποτέλεσμα που δεν μπορεί παρά να γοητεύσει τους λάτρεις του είδους.
"Το κορίτσι που έπαιζε με την φωτιά", ως βιβλίο, είναι ιδιαίτερα ογκώδες και πολυδιάστατο, με πολύ έντονη δράση και συνεχείς εξελίξεις που -θεωρητικά- είναι πολύ δύσκολο να αποτυπωθούν μέσα από τις σελίδες μιας graphic νουβέλας. Σαφέστατα, το novel, δεν μεταφέρει αυτολεξεί το πρωτότυπο κείμενο, όμως οι δημιουργοί της έχουν καταφέρει να εστιάζουν στα πιο ζωτικά σημεία της αφήγησης μεταφέροντάς τα στο χαρτί ουσιαστικά και αποδοτικά, έτσι ώστε να μπορεί εύκολα να παρακολουθήσει τη ροή των γεγονότων ακόμα και ένας μη μυημένος στην πρωτότυπη ιστορία αναγνώστης, έτσι που στο τέλος να μην αισθάνεται πως έχει χάσει κάτι σημαντικό στην πορεία της διαδρομής. Κι επειδή μιλάμε για ένα έργο κόσμημα, νομίζω πως κάθε συλλέκτης οφείλει να το αποκτήσει και να το προσθέσει στην συλλογή του.

stil 3,5 stars, still ambiguous
The artwork is very nice again! altough Mikael looks a little crazy now when he's supposed to look happy.
In most places the writer takes the time to put nice overview or detail picturea between the rest of the story. I also like the little looks into the past.
But he made some weird changes to the story in this part: why does Martin delibratly crashes his own car? The carmilla role is not right. the ending is supposed to be the gift dropping. Where is Mikael in jail? Why does H suddebly live in asia (and not in australia)? Where is the nieces identity swap? The story of the Zurich fraude doesn't expresses itself as well as in the original novel. Also, for a page when Lisbeth is typing she is suddenly called 'wesp' in stead of 'wasp', but that might be a weird-dutch-translation-choice.
I really want my ending to be just right, so 3 star rating for this one

Adaptación de la famosa novela. Las cosas que me gustaron:
- El estilo del dibujo es bastante bueno para reflejar la acción y el humor de la historia.
- El guión es lo suficientmente bueno para mantenerte interesado, tal y como lo hace la novela.
- Esta versión gráfica ayuda mucho en las escenas donde están analizando fotos porque aquí si puedes VER lo que están mirando los personajes.
Las cosas que no me gustaron:
- De pronto los rostros de los personajes se deforman tanto que es difícil reconocer a quién estamos viendo. Odio cuando el estilo del dibujante no permite diferenciar a los personajes.
- La historia está super condensada, así que se pierden muchos detalles, sobre todo el desarrollo psicológico de muchos de ellos.
La disfruté, y es una buena opción para acercarse a la obra, un poco mejor que la versión cinematográfica gringa, al nivel de la sueca, pero que no sustituye ni de lejos la lectura de la novela.

Artwork is great but the horror and thrill that was the original book looses out on being boiled down considerably - read the books before enjoying the art and recap that these comic books really are. They are great but they add to the books if you have read them. If you read these instead of the books you will loose out. Read both but read the books first

Bueno... esta es la segunda parte del comic anterior... así que lo mismo.
Siento que destripé una buena historia que tuve leer y no lo hice por vago.
Se ve que detrás hay un buen trhiller en el que en este comic no se profundizó mucho porque me imagino que la idea de adaptar el libro a este formato es que nos interesemos por el material original.
Una joyita... vea.

Février 2023. 3,5/5 C’est très ambitieux d’adapter le roman de Stieg Larsson. Mes commentaires demeurent les mêmes que le tome 1. Peut-être les ellipses m’ont-elles paru plus grandes... Ayant lu le roman, je comblais bien les blancs. Je serais curieuse d’avoir l’impression de quelqu’un qui n’a pas lu le roman.

El final de la primera novela, con muybuen arte, ayudado por el formato, pero con una cantidad de páginas, que al igual que el primer tomo, siento que acelera un poco la historia. Buena, aunque no excepcional, lectura rápida del material de la novela.

Story again nothing to comment, the colors here are more my thing. Especially the darker scenes. Some facial expressions are not really my thing. But Lisbeth is maybe the best drawn character here.

Nakon prvog djela, dojam mi je splasnuo i završnica djeluje ko nabrzinu prepričana knjiga. Vjerovatno jer praktički donosi samo krajeve svih odvojaka priče. definitivno treba pročitat u komadu oba djela zajedno za bolji dojam.

Ik heb blijkbaar enkel deel één besproken, wat ik nu rectificeer. En aangezien ik beide delen in één keer heb gelezen, herhaal ik mijn bespreking van toendertijd:
Ik ben er tot nu toe in geslaagd geen seconde te zien van de TV-bewerking van Stieg Larsson's Millennium-trilogie, geen letter te lezen van de originele boeken, en hoewel David Fincher's filmversie van "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" op mijn verlanglijstje staat (ik ben stapelgek op de soundtrack door Trent Reznor en Atticus Ross) is ook dat er nog niet van gekomen.
Dus had ik niet bijster veel interesse voor deze verstripping van de reeks. Maar dan dook die op in diverse eindejaarslijstjes, merkte ik dat de eerste twee delen prima recensies hadden gekregen, en werd ik toch benieuwd. Toen had ik nog een bon liggen van de stripwinkel, en besloot ik de gok te wagen.
Daar heb ik nog geen spijt van gehad. Solide tekenwerk, een straffe pagina-indeling, en Stieg Larsson's verhaal lives up to all the hype (ook al zijn er her en der wel puntjes van kritiek mogelijk).

Brings an element to the story that the book and film didn’t touch!
At first I was a bit concerned, the art style is different from the cover. But, whilst not my favourite I soon began to really enjoy it. There’s a nod to Noomi Rapace which I thought was fantastic, a brief moment but there. They manage to encapsulate the story whilst adding a little more depth to Lisbeth which I wasn’t expecting. This is why I read graphic novels they are a medium which allow you to experience a story you love whilst adding something more. I’d recommend if you’ve read the book first!

The last third was more satisfying than the movies, maybe even more than the book itself. However, I think the artist took more than a couple liberties that maimed the characters a bit...
