I'm a little young to be starting over, but I'm excited about the fresh start in Fortitude, Florida. On day one I meet the island's too-hot to handle police chief and decide quickly that I'm not, or shouldn't be, interested in what he's trying to sell. I know the type: too cocky, too confident, too controlling. I take a pass but Connor Easton doesn't make it easy to say no.
Connor
Fortitude has never seen anything as sexy as Scarlett Blake. But I’ve played it wrong, went at her too casually like I didn't already know that she is meant to be mine. When Scarlett backs herself into a corner and is convinced to accompany me as my date to a wedding, she agrees only with the stipulation that she is only pretending to be my girlfriend for the night, not anything more. No problem, I've got all evening to prove to her that nothing I’m feeling for her is fake.
This book is an introduction to Fortitude Island, Florida, ready for the new Men of Fortitude series. I thought Connor and Scarlett were good characters and had really good connection and chemistry. I have chuckled, smiled and sighed reading this story, I enjoyed seeing Connor and Scarlett get together and hope to see more of them (and Mad Max) in the new series. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an free copy.
