Evie's life changed completely after her first meeting with the extraterrestrially handsome Luc at Foretoken club. But it wasn't just her…
In the short story Like The First Time, Jennifer L. Armentrout recounts that first meeting from Luc's point of view. He immediately recognizes Evie and their entire past together flashes before him. But she has no idea who he is.

Luc is precious and feral and I love him just the way he is. That being said I LOVED this so much! I understand why the author put off releasing the next book in this series but I still want it so bad. I'll be the first to say I don't want to read any pandemic related storyline but this is my exception 😭
This short story can be found on the author's website here.
I almost cried reading that because Luc lost Nadia and it might probably be the hardest thing for him to have to stay away from her yet still love her "with every breath" he takes. He’s probably one of the strongest—faithfulnest—heroes I know and for that, he has all my respect. I’m so ready—mommy I’m scared—for book 3.
Ummmm... How do we get JL Armentrout to write the entire book in Luc's perspective?
Loved it. Nothing else needs to be said...
But I am going to.
Could Luc be any better?
He is perfection and I adore everything about him. Also, does this mean that Grayson actually likes Evie and that is why he treats her the way he does? Was anyone else reading that? I thought it was probably because he was in love with Luc, but now... I don't know. I just... I just need more! Come on!
I can't say I love everything JLA writes because there are a few books from her I do not like at all but she is one of those writers I love no matter what.
She is amazing and this world is amazing!! I can't wait to read the last book of the origin trilogy, I can't wait to read about Luc again and what will happen with Evie, Gray and the rest of the team!!
I loved Luc's pov <3 and i Hope we can get his pov in the last book as well.
I feel miserable reading this because this is what great amazeeiiiinnnng books make you feel It was written in such a beautiful /pure way that you can't stand the idea that it's not real; that it was JUST A BOOK This is why Jennifer is one of my favorites ...she has this way of making her writings Stay with you; in your mind and heart even after you finish reading her work and start other books Well deserved 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 can't wait for more
Knowing I should let this go, tell her she needed to leave and that she could never come back, I wasn’t at all surprised when I did the exact opposite.
Luc😭 I read this while I was half way through the Darkest Star because I stumbled on to it and I’m glad I didn’t read it before and spoil the whole book for myself.
I also have to include one other amazing quote from this...
She thought I… I was the most arrogant person she ever met. If she remembered meeting Daemon Black, she would know that was not true.
This might be one of my favourite book series.. no joke this time… 😍🥲❤️ although it is not finished and probably never will be.. i dont know if I can forgive you JLA for not giving Luc and Peaches a happy ending
Can some one pleaseeee tell me where they found this book. I have searched all the book stores and online. Please please. Help me find it. The fact that its in luc pov is everything I been waiting for. If u have the answer please email me. Lrc.lewanarcarter@gmail.com.
Oh My Goodness!!! I fell in love with Luc and Nadia all over again!!!
I need more!!!!
This book is all about... you guessed it LUC!!!!!! I have been wanting and waiting (not so patiently) to read his POV since I fell in love with him in Opal and I have finally got a glimpse into the wild and extraordinary mind of the The Great Lucus!
Luc sees Nadia (aka Evie) up close and personal after Three years and twenty-three days, but who was counting? After keeping a close watch on her for so long, this book lets us see the moment when Luc and the new Evie finally meet.
"But she was here and even though I knew better, even though I'd followed the rules - sort of - this entire time, I would see her. She would see me. She was here, after all this time, and there had to be a reason for that. Fate? Coincidence? I didn't care."
Luc recalls memories of his life shared with the girl of his dreams who has sadly forgotten all about who he is and their shared past.
I absolutely loved this book and hope that some day soon Jen will consider doing more from Luc's POV.
Btw- you most definitely need to read this book if you are obsessed with The Origin series!

And none of them knew they could never be the one. Because she already existed, and if even if she had left this world, she’d still be the one. She’d always be the one.
This is the first encounter of Luc and Evie in Foretoken in Lus's POV and you can read it online here!
I totally love reading the other MC POV and I really would love a book just about their life before everything and it being told by Luc. It would be so so so so cute.
“Everything has to do with me.” She blinked once and then twice. She thought I… I was the most arrogant person she ever met. If she remembered meeting Daemon Black, she would know that was not true.
Samen met The Brightest Night, gaf uitgeverij Zomer & Keuning ook de kleine novelle ‘Like the First Time’ uit.
I was so excited about it, but there was so little it added. most of it is just copy paste from the first few chapters of darkest shadow, sprinkled with some input from luc. Jen really struggles with second pov books, most of the additions felt like trying to hard. HOWEVER, being completely and utterly in love with luc, this was a nice dive back to the origin series, and to all of us who are impatiently waiting for the next origin to come out (OMG, WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED I JUST CANT HANDLE THIS CLIFFHANGER), this is a lovely piece of luc-candy. there are some very lovable moments of just luc being his smug narcissistic though secretly sensitive self, and its just food for our obsession. Gave it three stars mainly for being too short and containing a lot of the same.
I don't typically like reading a book from another person's POV. In most situations, it's from someone's POV I don't really care about and we really don't learn anything new. But after JLA has written the first three Lux books from Daemon's POV and we learned SO MUCH, I knew I needed to read this story. I enjoyed seeing the beginning of this new series from Lux's POV. From Evie's POV all we saw was Lux being a jerk. But here we see why he acted the way he did. Why he reacted to seeing Evie and even what happened in the hallway while Evie escaped. It was a nice short story to get.
I have been provided with a review copy of Like the First Time from the author for an impartial review. This short story takes place in the Origin series and it was a really great bonus scene from Luc’s point of view. This short story shows the first meeting between Evie and Luc from the first book in the series The Darkest Star and I really enjoyed getting to see the first meeting from Luc’s point of view. It was just so much fun getting to the scene through his eyes. I hope there are more scenes like this. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

This whole novella had me teary-eyed, reading the first chapter in Luc’s point of view, & know what he was feeling and thinking when near her. What he gave up to keep her alive and safe, feeling the emotions and how much he cares for her and loves her, having to keep distance from her to not break the deal he made. My heart breaks so much doing this novella. I thought Daemon Black was amazing but Luc is just as amazing. I need the first book in his whole POV!
