The reveal at the beginning? I was sus of that person in the back of my mind. They always had a smirk on their face that at first glance would show they don’t know much. But with their profession, and the intelligence needed for it, I always saw they had more in their gleaming eyes. There was always an unsettling undertone that implied what would happen if they switched sides…
I love how Aella isn’t all powerful, she still has much to learn. But I also love how Aella has some advantages, like range over brute force.

(Page. 143): Could a person shape their control to match the signature of past elves? Because if so, it could lead to all sorts of things, including that the dark elf my ancestors had captured might have got free and grown more powerful. [Whaaat? That actually sounds pretty plausible.]

Calling these elves, dwarves, gnomes, etc. mythicals is correct as they are from myths. Old human myths. However, Water Bound is bringing something new to light. A myth of the elves of an alternate universe where in time past some evil was banished from Earth and the way back sealed off by portals that may very well be impossible to breach. But elven myth also talk of one specific person may be able to do so. Would that person be Aella? Some hidden elf sect believe so and will do whatever they can to get a portal opened again. Including capturing Aella and force her and Zephyr to do so. Myths are proving to be dangerous indeed as events play out that may very well end up fatal for humans and mythicals alike. Of course, it is prudent to ensure your nails are cut short when reading this book. Enjoy.
I have just finished the 7th book in this series and can't praise it enough, you feel so much empathy with the lead character and as for her bonded mythicals you fall in love with them, usually when I read a long series of books I take a break after a couple of books and read another random book to break it up but not with this series I've read seven straight through and can't wait to read the rest, God! I hope the rest of the series is as fantastic as it is so far, the trouble is I don't want it to end. Right now into the 8th.
I love this series by Jess Mountifield. She is one of my favorite authors. It's nice to read about all the interesting characters and adventures. Even though I an much older than young adult, I love the clean jokes, humor, and language. Can't wait for the next book.
Can't get enough of this series Aella thinks she just might get tobtake it easy for awhile. Then she learns someone close to her has betrayed her. There is a group of Mysticals that want Aella and Zephyr to open their home world portal. They will stop at nothing to get their way. Can Aella. Zephyr and Sen keep their world safe? Read and find out.
Its getting better. Can't wait to see what the 4 of them can do together. I wonder what the next bonding of a mythical will be. Simply fascinating story line.
I’m enjoying this series. The characters are mostly engaging and it is a very large tale. The dragon is a love and things are moving along…no spoilers here!
