Prometheus Ascends

Rate this book
It’s the only logical strategy…

…and the Commonwealth has a plan to counter it.

Does he have the allies to win?

Alistair knows the risks, but he must take the Ice Queen’s military and the gigante to Planet Phoenix. In order to defeat the Ascendant, Alexander de Finita, and put this nightmare behind him, it’ll take every asset he can bring together.

There’s just one problem.

The Commonwealth plans to strike first.

If they control the star-gate at Phoenix, all is lost.

Every choice he’s made has had consequences, but none as gave as Alistair’s next move. The Ascendant has the positional advantage. Should Alistair protect his pieces, make a sacrifice, or play a gambit?

In this chess game…

…the future is on the line.

You’ll love this sixth book in The Great Insurrection series, because this military campaign will keep you turning pages until well past your bedtime.

I used to deliver pizza. I was pretty good at it, too. I mean, it's not that hard, but if I'm not going to brag, who is, right? Anyways, so I'm delivering pizza while I'm in college, and my boss has been in the pizza industry like six years. He's supposed to graduate from college this year, and I ask him, what are you going to do after college? We're all supposed to go out and conquer the world right after college, so this guy has to have some kind of plan.

He looked at me like I was delusional.

"I'm a writer, man."

Those four words changed my life more so than anything else ever spoken to me.
I'd always written, since I was twelve participating in online-wrestling forums in which you acted out your character. I wrote because it came naturally. Never once, in the entirety of my nineteen years did I think that writing could be a career though, until a Pizza Sage said those four words to me.

So what did I do? I went home and wrote a short story and immediately understood that I was the greatest writer to ever touch a keyboard. I brought it to the Pizza Sage and he told me what anyone could have told me--it was horrible. I might be dumb, probably am, but I'm also tenacious.

I spent the next seven years writing almost every day. My first novel grew to the length of 40,000 words, then I threw it away. My second novel grew to 140,000 words. I didn't throw it away, but it was rejected about 50 times by agents. My next novel ended up at around 55,000 words, which I showed to a few friends and shelved. Then I wrote Dead Religion, which is the only reason I have an author page at Amazon.

I have had four short stories published, paid and unpaid. 'Effects May Vary' won an award that was voted on by readers, which was pretty cool.

I'm currently getting my Masters in Business at the University of Georgia's Terry School of Business. I'm doing this in order to not deliver pizzas but still keep the lights on. I have a girlfriend who will soon be my fiancé, and after ten years, I imagine she's ready for that title.

I want to own a yacht.

Wow! Best one in the series so far. Alistair is killing throughout the galaxy just to get back to earth to his wife Luna. And the AllSeer was still doing his best to kill Alistair/Prometheus, while the AllMother is doing all she can to see that he survives, making him God-like. A fabulous book and now I have to wait until December for the next book in this series. It's going to be a long 3 months.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 22 times.

As for the narration: Just like with all the other book John Skelley continues to do a fantastic.

I liked it!

Ave, Alistair!

Because, really...when is the whole split personality thing gonna end? These people all have so many issues! But we're moving forward and the Veena/Ares team is moving and the AllSeer is finally out and about! So much in this book--I'm actually excited for the next one!

OK. GA does a great job of production. If they weren't doing this, then I wouldn't read it. The actors and sounds make it. At this point though I feel like each 'story' is just a movement towards something else, but super slowly. It's a nice change 1 time a month or every 2 months, but not my favorite for sure. I do enjoy most of the characters though, so I think it's pacing.

Wonderfully Crafted

I have to say that the authors have done wonders with the overall structure of how Kane develops personality and action during his journey. 6 books is so quick as well and if staying with 9 then it may work out although it seems very fast.

things appear to be hotting up…

A good, fun, and compelling read that’s well worth grabbing.

Well rounded characters combine with beautifully described vistas in this latest episode.

Pro doing the undoable

Pro is learning as he goes along. He's preparing for his return to thearth and destroying the Commonwealth and returning to his beloved wife. Using his mind and body he defeats all commers. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

As cool as I think the story is, I do feel this book is nothing but a set up. Setting up for the future plans. It’s like everyone is making moves across the chess board not to attack but to prepare. It’s leading into something more and interesting.
