This series continues to feel like NaNoWriMo work. And that's fine -- not everything has to be perfect. But I'm increasingly questioning the big bad's logic.
I mean, we're "collecting" royalty, right? It keeps talking about a "collection."
But then it seems to be stashing the royalty in random places where they'll inevitably die?
So.... if it doesn't want its collection alive, why has it not killed them by now? Is it supposed to be using them as bait to lure the protagonist in? Except, it isn't trying to lure the protagonist. So none of it makes sense. It feels like "rule of cool" overtook plot logic.
Slade and Callie will need to go to the realm of the Banchees to rescue the witch king. First they need to train Callie in many areas. Some real emotions and action happen here. Callie's magic is really getting stronger. This series just gets better as it goes. I am so looking forward to the next one.
The fantastical world that you find yourself in throws you for a loop page after page. There is always twists and turns and you never know what will happen next. I enjoyed this book.
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
Epic truly epic! I am on pins and needles for the next book! Callie just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see how she finally defeats the collector.
Fun, fun, fun. Great addition to the series and we see Callie getting stronger and more confident. I love the lucky penny scenes, somehow brings Callie back around to who she is.
Another excellent instalment in this series. Callie and Shade are training to go to the between lands to rescue his brother who is held there by the King Collector.
