A sexy, single-dad romance standalone Don’t sleep with the nanny.
That should be a simple rule to follow, but some things are easier said than done.
Especially when the nanny I hire to take care of my wild child daughter turns out to be the one I can’t forget.
The woman I shared a red-hot anonymous kiss with a few weeks ago when we were trapped in an elevator? Yeah, seems she’s one and the same—sweet, sexy, irresistible Daisy.
When she shows up in town, fresh-faced and ready to care for my kid, it hits me like a kick from a stubborn mare. I’m in way over my head.
I’ve been fantasizing about seeing my elevator woman again. And now I’m seeing her every damn day at the breakfast table, or at the playground with my adorable daughter.
Daisy is exactly what my little girl needs.
But every day I spend with Daisy makes me want her more, only I can't have her.
I won’t risk breaking the unbreakable rule to take a chance at love.
USA Today bestselling author Kim Loraine was raised a Navy brat but spent most of her life growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A proper Washingtonian, she's addicted to coffee, doesn't let a little rain ruin her day, and thinks the sun is a gift from God. When not chasing her three little minions around, Kim spends her time writing, reading, and binge watching Doctor Who.

Hawk, Daisy & Carly captivated my heart from the very start!!
Don't sleep with the nanny. That is the only rule that Hawk has to follow which would be a lot easier if he hadn't made out with said nanny mere weeks before in an elevator. Now that Daisy is his space day after day, he can’t get this woman out of his head. She is here to take care of Carly and to make things easier for him. She is not here for him, no matter how much he wants her or how much chemistry they have together. Starting something with Daisy would only cause more problems for Carly and that is the last thing Hawk wants to do. How is he supposed to get her out his head when every moment with her feels more real than anything ever has.
Daisy didn't leave everything she knew in California to come to Montana and mess it all up before she even started her new job. Unfortunately, that is exactly what she might have done, how was she supposed to know that the guy she made out with in that elevator was her new boss? Now, her days are filled with an adorable little girl she is falling harder for everyday while trying not to fall in love with her daddy. Daisy knows that getting involved with Hawk can only lead to heartache and she can't risk Carly getting hurt if it doesn't work out between them.
As Hawk & Daisy dance around their "what if?" everyone around them is aware of the possibility of what all this could be if only they would get out of their own way. After all, love sometimes sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
Audio lovers unite!! I've adored Jason Clarke for ages, but this book made me fall in love with him. Not only did we get cowboy Jason we also got a brief glimpse of British Jason and let me tell you that was HOT!! His growls, sighs and even his shyness seeped through every word he laid out and it was nothing short of perfection. Then Stella Hunter, as if I need to rave more about her! She does every voice justice especially her swoony voice!! This duo is one I want to see so much more of and soon!!
An Irresistible Chance was everything I love in a good romance!! There was some serious angst, delicious cowboys and all the swoon worthy moments your little heart can handle. Looking forward to reading more in this series and more stories by Kim Loraine.
An Irresistible Chance by Kim Loraine narrated in duet by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter is a fun, sweet and sexy story about a single dad/cowboy falling for his daughters nanny.
Hawk Langston is in over his head after Carly’s mom up and leaves, struggling to be all that she needs as well as look after the ranch. He needs help, so when he hears about Lark’s friend Daisy who has experience working with children is coming to town, he knows she may just be perfect for the job. The one thing he didn’t anticipate is the attraction and chemistry the two would share. I really enjoyed the forbidden aspect of the story. They try so hard to keep a professional relationship but the moment they give in it is scorching hot! So much fiery passion between them. I couldn't get enough. I also loved the connection and special friendship Daisy formed with Carly. Her little heart is fragile after her mom leaving and Daisy is just what she needed to mend it making her feel loved, cherished and protected.
Jason Clarke’s voice portrays Hawk’s southern cowboy drawl perfectly. Nobody says darlin’ quite like he does! I loved the duet style narration between he and Stella Hunter. I love how versatile her voice is. Sweet, and sassy one moment and fun and playful the next. Her voice of Daisy was terrific but also her kid voice was so authentic as well, playing the sweet voice of Hawk’s daughter Carly. The two together brought the story and characters to life beautifully!
Ride Em cowboy! Wow is this cowboy a hot one!!! Add in instant chemistry and an a precious 4 yr old and you have one heck of a book!!! Loved every page of this single dad cowboy romance!!
Kim Loraine's cowboy world is my happy place. From the first mention of Hawk in his sister's book, I couldn't wait for his story, and it was everything I wanted it to be and more. A strong heroine who fights her feelings because her love for a little girl, a dedicated single dad who can't help but follow his heart once his daughter's nanny put it back together for him. Sweet, steamy, and stellar narration.
Getting kissed by the hottest cowboy alive while stuck in an elevator with him seems like one of those impulsive moments she could tell her grandkids someday. Unfortunately, walking into her new nanny job and seeing that same cowboy is not a good thing when it means he's her new boss. Can Daisy and Hawk manage to keep their lips off each other now that she's his daughter's nanny? Or will they realize that putting them in the same house can be a good thing for them?
Hawk knows he has to keep his growing feelings for Daisy to himself. He can't risk running her off because his daughter Carly has fallen in love with her, and is actually forming a bond with her. But having her so close to him is wreaking havoc with his control. How is he ever going to keep himself from the temptation Daisy presents?
Daisy and Hawk are adorable. And hot. And fun. I was thoroughly entertained reading as they tried their hardest to stay away from each other. I knew they'd eventually give in, and when they did - whew! Talk about hot! Along with adorable, strong-willed Carly, this couple formed into a beautiful little family. Can't wait for more Langstons to fall in love.

An Irresistible Chance by Kim Loraine brings the best of cowboy romance. The Cowboy single father hotness. The swoony feels. The adorable small town with amazing people. It was an absolutely enjoyable read! . Hawk Langston, the head of Whiskey Ranch is in a bit of trouble. His little girl Carly has been abandoned by her mother and she is acting out. His life is busy and he needs a nanny. So when his friend suggests Daisy's name, he is delighted. But when she finally arrives and they meet, they realize that they had a hot kiss in a hotel elevator few weeks back. And that chemistry is still there! . It was a simple story with beautiful emotions. Hawk is as good as you can get in a cowboy. He is ridiculously hot and brooding but his sex appeal was amplified by his love for little Carly. He is a dedicated overprotective and doting dad whose world revolves around his daughter. Cue ovaries exploding gif! He is a great man all around. And Daisy definitely fit their family. She has a complicated past and was hurt. This job is her fresh start. And I feel she deserves it so much. She has such a sweet, caring and kind soul. She took care of Carly like her own daughter and always put her first. Their attraction was always there. And it made things difficult for sure but their connection is truly wonderful. They resisted because it may be disastrous and they had trust issues but the pull was undeniable. And once they gave in..holy hotness! I loved spending time with the secondary characters too. . I spent some entertaining and feel good time with Daisy and Hawk in An Irresistible Chance by Kim Loraine. . I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
I enjoyed Hawk and Daisy's story. I loved the tropes so I was looking forward to this one. One kiss got them hooked. But when Daisy appeared to apply to be his daughter's nanny, he knew there would be no repeat. His daughter is more important than their attraction for one another.
So they resisted their chemistry and attraction for so long until they couldn't anymore. I enjoyed seeing how they navigate living together while denying their feelings. I loved how Daisy is with Carly. I just think that they fall in love way too quickly, it feels like the author was trying to wrap it up quickly.
(audiobook) I hadn’t read a cowboy romance in a while, and this one has become one of my favorite. What can I say, I love a hot single daddy riding a horse.
Not a lot of originality here, just your regular romance between a single father and his nanny. Meaning a lot of denial, some unresolved sexual tension, and a little kid who’s the most important thing for them. That doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable. It was. A lot.
First, the meeting between Daisy and Hawk prior to their working relationship was hot. Their instant attraction was delicious. You know right away that it’ll cause troubles. Hence denial. They cannot act on it, for different reasons–Hawk wants to protect his daughter, Daisy has a desastrous past experience of workplace relationship and doesn’t want a repeat. Their reluctance seemed logical.
Though I hadn’t read any other book by the author, I wasn’t disturbed by all the cameos from characters from other series and books. There were just enough details to get who they were, without stealing the spotlight. It still felt like fan service at times. But I guess the characters needed a family that big to have it meddling with their lives.
With that much of a denial, the story was kind of a slow burn. But as soon as they decide to act on their feelings? Oh my, that was hot.
As for the narration, with two such great narrators, it was delightful. Hawk’s sexy and Daisy’s feisty were right there, and the duet narration was perfect. A very nice cowboy romance indeed.
Quickie
- Series: The irresistible Langstons #1 (can be read as a standalone, linked to various series by the same author) - Hashtags: #cowboy romance #forbidden romance #single dad - Triggers: mention of cheating - Main couple: Daisy Capshaw & Hawk Langston - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 4/5 - + that sexy solo scene, damn! - – I found the kid annoying
I don't know how Kim Loraine does it, but I swear every one of her cowboys is swoonier, sweeter and better than the last. Don't go telling Clint Ryker I said that, because he's the OG Kim Loraine Cowboy that started it all, but holy moly, Hawk Langston is downright irresistible for sure, just as the title promises.
Hawk is a man that is just trying to do the best by his daughter, Carly, after her mom walked out on them both. Carly is one sassy little lady, and she gets herself into a mess of trouble every day, and Hawk feels like he's failing her. Enter Daisy, new nanny, new to town, and, by the way - the woman that Hawk can't get out of his head since they had a chance meeting in a elevator months ago.
To say the sparks fly between Hawk and Daisy is a severe understatement. They practically combust from page one. But the last thing Hawk wants to do is risk ruining the stability that Daisy has provided for Carly. Hawk and Daisy try to fight their mutual attraction, but honestly the more they get to know each other, the more inevitable they become.
One thing I love about Kim Loraine's cowboys is that when they fall, they fall hard. They can't see it coming, but they accept it, they embrace it when it happens, and they are all in. Her cowboys also know that sometimes you can't push your soulmate to fall as fast as you did, but patience always pays off in the end. That's definitely what happened for Hawk. He fell quickly, he fell hard, he fell completely, but he understood that Daisy needed some time, and he gave it to her.
Narration by Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke was just perfect. Jason has that slight drawl that makes you weak in the knees when he calls you darlin' and I'm here for it. Stella not only perfectly captures Daisy's spirit, but also her reluctance, her uncertainty, and ultimately her love and joy. Plus Stella is an amazing mischievous little girl. Her delivery made me smile every time we heard from Carly.
This is another Kim Loraine cowboy romance that will makes me want to move to Montana and lasso a cowboy of my own, for sure.

An Irresistible Chance is book 4 in the Wilde Horse Ranch series by Kim Loraine and totally swoon worthy!
This book draws you in from the first page…they meet in an elevator, share a hot, sexy, fan yourself kiss and go their separate ways.
Hawk is a single Dad who needs help with his daughter and his friend recommends Daisy who loves children for his Nanny position. When he sees his new nanny he can’t believe it’s the woman from the elevator that he can’t forget. What happens next will keep you turning pages to see if they can just be boss and employee or whether it could lead to a HEA…
Sweet, sexy, swoon worthy, sizzling and so much more.
This is a sexy and hot romance between Daisy and Hawk. The author does a great job building their relationship and giving them a steamy chemistry. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.

An Irresistible Chance A Single Dad/Nanny Romance By: Kim Loraine Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Stella Hunter
I don't know how to thank Kim Loraine enough. Each book she writes takes me into a world, and even though it's fleeting, I am able to escape and love my new friends made in each one. Her cowboys are amazing, and Hawk's story is no exception. With his wife gone, and his daughter Carly acting out, he is need of help. Luckily, Lark & Travis's friend Daisy needs a job and loves kids. Little does he know she is the beautiful woman he was caught kissing in an elevator several weeks earlier. Now the two have to work and live together. Will it work for the good of Carly? Every warm feeling I have is felt in this book. From the incredible single dad, to the love Daisy shows Carly to the family feel it gives off, I was captivated from the very start. Hawk exudes charisma, and it is impossible not to love his scenes with Carly. Daisy is sweet and loving and knows what is important. But Carly steals the show. This feisty, amazing child had me smiling in every scene. Another fantastic listen by Loraine, and now to wait for Maverick!
The narration of this book just enhances the story. I am a huge fan of both Stella Hunter and Jaso Clarke. Daisy is full of conflict and Hunter knows exactly how to bring it out. She adds all the emotions and as soon as we finish with Daisy, she throws in Carly's voice as if she is a 4 year old. Perfect to a "t". Clarke has a warmth to his voice as this cowboy that is like velvet. A little twang and smoothness that won my heart. A great narration and wonderful listen.
Oh boy!! Single dad kisses stranger in an elevator then she becomes the nanny. That’s exactly what happens to Hawk and Daisy. Will they be able to separate work from play? Will they get their HEA?
Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Beautifully Heartfelt!
An Irresistible Chance A Single Dad/Nanny Romance By: Kim Loraine Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Stella Hunter
This is a fantastic romance novel, and I just loved everything about it, from Kim Loraine’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This is a standalone set in Kim Loraine’s cowboy world so there are cameo’s of some characters from other series but you will be perfectly fine if you are new to her world, I highly recommend that you check out her other cowboy ranch series, Ryker and/or Wilde, two of the finest cowboy series available for you reading and/or listening pleasure. Ms. Loraine masters charming and swoon worthy cowboys and the badass women who fall in love with them. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to, connect with and care about. Hawk Langston runs Whiskey Ranch along with his brothers, he is a single dad with a four-year-old daughter, Carly, who is a real cutie and a handful so much so she could no longer attend nursery school. OMG, that girl is already a heartbreaker, and she sure knows how to play her daddy. Hawke needs to find another solution and his friends suggest a live-in nanny, and Lark knows her friend, Daisy, is looking for a job. Daisy had made the mistake of getting involved with her boss and it all ended badly, she is happy to leave it all behind and start over. She was a nanny before and is great with kids, so she jumped on the opportunity, left California and headed to Montana. When she meets her new employer for the first time, it surprised her to see that he was the mystery man she had an encounter with while stuck in the hotel elevator just weeks ago, an encounter that included a sizzling, unforgettable kiss. She will not have history repeat and make the mistake of getting involved with her boss, Hawk had a similar philosophy not to get involved with an employee. Daisy was just what Carly needed, she was great with her, handling all her insecurities and her curious and inquisitive mind. The chemistry between Hawk and Daisy does not sizzle out, instead it gets harder for them to deny each other and they each have their own inner battles with it. This single dad/nanny romance story is beautifully plotted with a perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and some smoking hot sexy times. Kim Loraine, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter are talented narrators and voice artists. They did an exceptional job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own voice and humanizing them with their emotions. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they grasped each of their character’s personas and played the roles with perfection, sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Stella Hunter nailed it as both Daisy and Carly, her versatility truly shined and could be heard in her stellar performance, the same with Jason Clarke, his Hawk was spot on, along with the other characters he played. Both Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter are entertaining storytellers, they make a great team and their performance enhances an already great story to another level of greatness. Thank you for another fabulous listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.
Single dad romances are my kryptonite. I just cannot resist them. This book was sweet, sexy and made me swoon so hard for Hawk. I absolutely LOVED it.
There are books where children are mentioned once...and then never seen again until the last chapter or epilogue. That isn't the case here-Carly is present through the book and her voice, and needs, are heard. She's a cute, precocious young lady and I loved getting to know her.
Now Daisy. Daisy is a supporting character in one of my all time favorite books from Kim Loraine. (THIS IS A STANDALONE-if you haven't met her, don't worry, you'll love her just in this alone!) I appreciated getting to see her grow throughout this book. She's so afraid to put herself out there with Hawk-even though it is clear the attraction between them is mutual. She's caring, loving and someone I'd absolutely hang out with.
Hawk stole my heart right away. He's just trying to do what's best for his little girl and I LOVE that. He guarded too-so it's fun watching his walls come down. He's also so freaking sexy! Not going to lie, there were some scenes that I needed a cold drink after LOL. I absolutely love him and I'm claiming him as mine!!
The chemistry between these two pops right off the page from the beginning. You can FEEL the sexual tension, but there's more to it than that. Their sexy times are sexy (especially a certain solo scene!) but their sweet times are just as amazing. Watching them get to know one another, seeing how they both handle things with Carly. Their relationship FELT real and completely believable.
The narrators truly brought this book to life. Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke?? I mean, yes PLEASE. They could read me the phone book (do they still make those??) and I'd buy it. Their voices just work so well for these characters! I know this is an audio I will listen to again.
I loved getting a chance to see some familiar faces. Kim Loraine has a way of crafting worlds I just want to stay in-and that's true of this book as well. I could hang out on the ranch with this crew any day.
I loved this book. I finished it in one sitting and had the biggest grin on my face when it was done. I absolutely highly recommend this book!!
Kim delivers a hot and steamy, strangers to lovers and single dad romance that you have you needing a fan just to cool down. Hawk and Daisy are the perfect couple and the chemistry they share is off the charts.
Hawk is a single dad of a rambunctious little girl, Carly. He has been raising her on his own for years and has his hands full. He has decided that he needs a nanny so he can do his job and make sure that Carly is safe. He asks around and finds out that his friend's wife has a friend that is looking for a job and has nanny experience. When he meets Daisy he is taken back in time to a few weeks prior to a hot and steamy kiss in an elevator. The girl that is standing in front of him is the same woman from that kiss. He fights the feeling he has for her because he will not be that man who goes after the nanny. He sees that she is amazing with Carly, which makes it even harder to stay away. Will he cross the line of the employer/-employee relationship? Can they keep it professional?
Daisy is running from a bad relationship that she had with her boss. She found out that he was having an affair with her roommate and needed to getaway. When her best friend calls and says there is a job as a nanny, she jumps at the chance. While o her way she meets a tall, dark and handsome cowboy in an elevator. She starts to get hot under the collar and decides to act on impulse and kiss him. She is wanting more but they are interrupted and end up going their own way. When she finds out that the man from the elevator is now her new boss, she is worried because she is attracted to him and scared because of her past relationship. She loves working with Carly but the attraction to Hawk is just too much. She needs to live somewhere else but will the distance be enough? Will seeing him every day pull on her heartstrings? Can she keep it professional or will her heart take over?
Kim did an outstanding job of grabbing at our heartstrings and not letting go. She has you swooning over Hawk and loving the wild Carly. Daisy is the perfect character to take care of both of them. I love cowboy stories and Kim always delivers ones that you cannot put down.
'Perhaps my favourite Kim Loraine novel to-date! This swoon-worthy cowboy captured my heart immediately and held it all the way till the last page!' - TheBritishBibilohpile
I could already tell I was going to like the premise of the story based on the blurb alone, but I had no idea how much I would be smitten with it until I started reading. Kim has come on in leaps and bounds from when I first started reading her novels, to the amazing quality stories I'm reading now and this one reflects her growth most of all.
Immediately I was won over with the bringing together of the two main characters, I'm a fan of the forbidden romance/workplace romance, and this one was set in such a wholesome, romantic setting that I was itching to read when the two of them finally gave in to their desires and suffice to say that when it did happen, I was not disappointed. Add in to the fact that 'Hawk' is a cowboy, only intensifies just how swoon-worthy yet hot this moment was. There's nothing hotter than a Southern cowboy who knows how to really romance a woman! Or woo, in this case.
Rules are there to be followed or broken, and this was one rule Hawk set in place for himself and Daisy from the beginning that I think we can all agree, we were super glad that he broke!
Things only escalated from there as our two main characters dance around the idea of becoming official, factoring in anything and everything that could possibly come as a result of their coming out together as an official couple, and what could make it fall apart before they've even got going. Daisy has more to lose out of the two of them, so there was more for her to consider--and to overthink--before that magical moment would come when the two would throw all the cares out of the window, and just go with whatever they were and wherever life would take them for however long it would keep them together.
There were a few moments in which it seemed like there wouldn't be the sweet, sweet happily ever after that we as readers crave more than anything as we near the end of the story, but Kim didn't disappoint with giving us an ending that left us both satisfied and craving more at the same time. Hawk and Daisy were by far my favourite couple to get to know and to see develop that Kim has bought to life, and I look forward to seeing more of them hopefully dotted in future reads in this series.
If you're looking for that perfect autumn read that will give you all the warmth, the feels, bookish fuzzies and toe-curling cowboy steam, then this is the read for you.
Five stars for An Irresistible Chance and for Kim Loraine!
They kissed before they knew who each other was. A spark was lit even before they knew what was happening. Now she is his daughter’s nanny and forbidden. He is her boss and she just left one relationship that made her move across the country to get away from. She lost almost everything with that relationship and is not willing to take the chance again. Daisy and Hawk have a very strong attraction to one another but both know they can’t take advantage of it mainly because of Carly. From the first time Hawk met Daisy in that elevator he felt a connection to her. But he has unwillingly agreed with Daisy that they cannot act on any attraction. They find it very difficult living under the same roof to keep this attraction under control. Carly has been handful before Daisy came to live there. She was acting out, biting kids in school as well as teachers and Hawk knew he needed to find someone to take care of her when he was working on the ranch. He is such an amazing father. The love he has for his little girls is just precious. Once Daisy starts to live with them Carly begins to behave. She and Daisy develop such a beautiful bond. You can’t stop falling in love with this little girl. And Carly falls equally in love with Daisy. She was hired to be Carly’s nanny, but she has become so much more. It’s like they become a family of three instead of single dad, 4 year-old little girl and nanny. But how long can they keep ignoring these feelings that are building. I enjoyed this book so much. A real love story. I enjoyed how they took Carly’s feelings into play. They were not selfish in their attraction. They knew that Carly was dealing with her mother leaving, especially at her young age. They wanted to make sure it was the right time before telling her. There were sparks flying between Daisy and Hawk but there was so much family and love too. Their story had it all. The perfect making for a happily ever after.
There really is something super sexy about a man that is an amazing father. Especially a father that is wrapped around a sweet and sassy 4 year old girl's finger! When we met Hawk in Wild Mistake I knew this man was going to make me fall in love with him. And I wasn’t wrong. Hawk and Carly have been on their own since her mom left. Hawk relies heavily on his family to help him with her, all while running a ranch and starting a new distillery business with his siblings. Carly is precocious to say the least. She gets into a lot of trouble at preschool so her dad has to come get her and then she gets to spend time at home with family. And this system is working for her, until her dad realizes he needs some serious long term help in the form of a nanny. In comes Daisy. She is the best friend of a buddy’s wife, who also happens to be looking for a fresh start. I love how each of these characters have baggage and some damage of their own in the past. Some are willing to move past that faster than others, Hawk and Daisy are immediately attracted to one another, and the chemistry is intense. Hawk definlety recognized that Daisy had some things that she needed to work out on her own, and I really loved how he not only gave her the time but the space to do that. Sometimes characters jump right in without thinking about the consequences, but these two worked it out. Took time and gave themselves room to grow into each other. But once they were together they made the perfect team! One of the things that I love about a Kim Loraine book is the family dynamics and how we never leave behind her characters and they pop up later in the series. It really makes the reader feel like a part of the family and in this case, the community. If you have not read any of her Ryker or Wild series I would highly recommend them. Kim Loraine has quickly become one of my favorite authors!
Daisy fell for her boss then caught him cheating with her roommate and lost her job so she jumps at the chance to follow her best friend to Montana and start a new life. Her BFF Lark recently moved with her husband back to his hometown and his best friend needs a nanny. Daisy has experience with kids, needs a new job and a new place to live, plus she gets to be with her bestie so it’s a great opportunity. She sets out hopeful for a fresh start but hits one little snag along the way when she stops for the night and gets stuck in a hotel elevator. Daisy is tired, nervous and scared so she throws caution to the wind, asking the hot cowboy in the elevator for a kiss to calm her nerves. It’s no big deal because when the elevator doors open, she walks out of his life forever.
At least until she meets her new boss, the sexy elevator cowboy. Daisy and Hawk both struggle to fight the attraction. He needs help with his daughter and can’t scare away his new nanny by hitting on her. She knows exactly how bad things can go when you get involved with your boss, so Daisy will never make that mistake again. Except their chemistry is off the charts and they’re perfect together, so this isn’t going to be easy.
The tension mounts as they struggle to put Carly first, determined not to do anything that could damage the employer-employee relationship. This story is a little bit angsty and a whole lot of steamy as they fight their feelings but it’s worth every minute.
When things go crazy for Daisy and she is without a job, her best friend Lark is there to lend a helping hand. It means being a nanny for Lark’s husbands’ friend, but that’s okay until she gets on her feet again. Hawk is a single dad who helps run the family ranch. After his daughter’s mom leaves, he finds that he needs help raising Carly as she is a typical mischievous 4-year-old. When he makes mention to Hawk that Lark’s best friend might be an option, he takes that opportunity. His one rule- don’t hook up with the new nanny once he meets her.
I love that this might have been an insta-love situation but yet neither of these two were willing to break. Daisy because Hawk is her boss, and she refuses to go there, even though there are some strong feelings happening. For Hawk because she is the hired help and he is concerned about Carly. He doesn’t want her to be attached to anyone that is going to leave as he already has seen how that has affected her.
“When he said things like that, I knew exactly why cowboys were right up there with rock stars and billionaires when it came to romance heroes.” – Daisy
Daisy is loving and gentle as well as so kind. She has a big heart and it shows when she is taking care of Carly. Carly can feel that and trusts that she is safe. Hawk is the everything you expect as a cowboy. He is rough and tough and a big pile of mush when it comes to his daughter. She is his world and he would do anything for her. I mean *swoon* seriously. I love his family and how supportive they are of each other. The protect their own and have a great time giving each other grief like any family should. Looking forward to the next book, especially after the little teaser at the end of this book.
My heart is full. Can Kim Loraine´s Cowboys become any swoonier? Yes, they can. Hawk Langston is proof. He must be the most adorable dad to the cutest little troublemaker. Every time I finish one of Kim’s books, I have a big happy smile on my face. Sparks & Swoons are flying left, right and centre and you cannot but fall in love with all these characters.
One unforgettable steamy kiss in an elevator sends Hawk and Daisy into a tailspin of feelings and leads them to take an irresistible chance. Hawk by hiring her as a Nanny for his daughter Carly to get some more stability into her life and Daisy wanting a fresh start leaving her sorrows behind. Their attraction is tested daily as both are trying not to give in to temptation. Hawk because he is Daisy´s boss and does not want to disrupt the bond she built with his daughter and Carly because she does not want to get hurt again if it does not work out.
Taking us on this very swoony auralicious journey in Duet narration are Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke. Stella Hunter portrays Daisy´s kind, passionate, caring persona perfectly. I am in love with her Carly voice, too freaking adorable. Jason Clarke, I was not prepared for all the “Darlins” he growled and whispered in this irresistible southern drawl and OMG, the way he said “Button” to his daughter as Hawk made my heart melt.
Expect a lot of heart-warming moments, touching scenes, sexy hot heat, flirty fun banter, swoony handsome cowboys, caring dependable family and friends and a sassy, cute as a button, 4-year old.
An Irresistible Chance by Kim Loraine Book 1 in The Irresistible Langstons Series Narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter
Wow I love Kim’s cowboys. Swoon-worthy all! And hearing “Darling” makes me go right to any of her books ❣️ Her books are so realistic and true to life and always take me away to visualizing the scenery and characters like I can visit it and them right then. In this newest book series of the Langstons we get the story of single dad Hawk, who cares for his daughter Carly. He’s a sexy, gravely cowboy who needs help with his precocious daughter who’s acting up in order to get his attention. Both are trying to keep it together since his ex-wife walked out on them. Thankfully Lark and Travis have an amazing friend Daisy who is looking for a new place and a job. This was a moving story of a single dad who tries to stay away from his feelings for his new nanny that has captured his heart and his daughter’s as well.
I have come to adore Stella’s performances especially when there are children characters. Carly really is a sweet girl and had me smiling. Daisy is wonderful with her, and the heat between her and Hawk was what dreams are made of. Jason’s performance of Hawk was awesome, full of concern for his ‘girls’, emotional for trying to do the right thing even when he wants so much more. Jason makes a swoony sexy drawling cowboy in this audiobook. This book was another that just captured my heart, and that “Darling “ are what dreams are made of. These families that Kim creates are ones that I want to live with and I love them while I’m immersed in them.
HOT! HOT! HOT! I've been waiting to get my hands on this one and it I enjoyed every second of it. Hawk Langston is an orgasmic dream come true - hot, cowboy, single-dad. == He is loyal, hardworking, and sexy as hell.
Daisy Capshaw left her old life behind and moved to Montana to accept a job as a nanny. During a pit stop on the way to Montana, Daisy shares an intimate moment with a sexy cowboy in an elevator. Since the encounter that's all she has thought about. Accepting that she will never see him again, Daisy arrives at her destination only to come face to face with none other than the sexy elevator stranger - her new boss, Hawk Langston.
The chemistry between Hawk and Daisy was intense. The amount of restraint they both displayed was pretty damn strong. I don't know if I couldn't been that strong, but I understood where both Hawk and Daisy were coming from. Hawk's priority was Carly and although Daisy's priority was also Carly she had also been burned in the past before and she vowed to not allow herself to make the same mistake. She liked her new life in Montana and she didn't want to jeopardize anything that would cost her to leave sooner than later.
I truly love the world Kim Loraine has created with the Langstons, Wildes and Rykers. I love how they are all coming together and interacting in family events, celebrations and much more. These books are so much more than passion and chemistry. They are about family and friends. About love and finding your way home.
I'm already looking forward to the next one. I am already looking forward to the next
This is part of the authors Ryker Ranch series world but also is the start of a new series about the Langston family. In this book we meet Hawk Langston, his daughter Carly and their new nanny, Daisy who is best friends with Travis Ryker's new wife and has just moved from California to Montana.
This is very much a SLOW burn romance and their are no exes that get in the way of this story. Hawk and Daisy meet and its fireworks but I don't to spoil the fun of the where and when.
Hawk is a divorced, single dad with an adorable, princess loving four-year-old daughter named Carly and she was such a fun character in the story. When he meets his new nanny, he is a very confused guy because he has no idea what to do with Daisy and I loved that about him.
When Daisy meets him, well she also has no idea what to do with him. But she wants business to stay as it is and she works hard to have a employee/nanny/boss relationship with Hawk. But she also lives with him and Carly so that is a bit hard for her.
As I mentioned its a slow burn so a majority of the book, Hawk and Daisy only share a kiss but they also really get to know each other well as they try and fight their attraction.
This was a really awesome and romantic nanny/boss romance and I really liked it because I really loved Hawk and Daisy's characters and I loved that no outside forces get involved in their romance.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved this story. This whole extended world that Kim Loraine has created is amazing. And as we delve into the world of the Langstons things get fun and steamy. Hawk Langston is a single father. His little girl Carly feels lost and abandoned by her mum and is acting out. So a nanny is what's needed. When Daisy arrives they both realize it is not the first time they have met.
As the story unfolds and the relationships start to develop, you get to see just how much Daisy does to help heal not only Carly but also Hawk. This is a very easy-going and beautiful love story with not very much heartache or drama. It's just fear that puts obstacles in the way of things and tries its hardest to derail what they are building.
This book is a huge recommend from me and yes this story can be read as a standalone but I feel that you need to enter this world right at the beginning.
There is something special going on in Sunrise, Montana - and that something special is Kim Loraine’s character-driven cowboy romance with all the bells and whistles! Yowza! I can’t get enough of these Rykers, Wildes, and now Langstons! I finished and immediately listened again, for reasons. I’m head over heels for Hawk, Daisy, and Carly! Daisy is still reeling from past heartbreak and betrayal, and is determined not to repeat mistakes. Hawk is an incredibly sexy, irresistible single father who works hard and dotes on his young daughter, Carly, who is absolutely precious, precocious, brilliantly mischievous, and one of my favorite characters! Stella’s performance of Carly makes the excellent writing even more vivid. Hawk is rugged and tough, but also a gentle caregiving father who puts Carly first. Don’t let his gentle nature fool you, though, ladies! This super sexy single dad has a dirty-dirty mouth under the right circumstances and drives a sex scene 8 ways from Sunday like a pro! Hawk is proof that Kim loves us and knows what we need because she has Jason say some spectacularly delicious naughty things to his lady love - Swoon #DEAD!
It’s sweet, adorable, sexy, swoony, and beautifully performed by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter in duet. This is DUET done right, folks! Honestly, this book ticks all of my boxes for all of the reasons in all of the ways!
I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review - don’t this one!!
There are a lot of single dad and the nanny books out there, but I haven’t read one I love as much as Hawk and Daisy’s story in An Irresistible Chance. This is a slow burn…some might think it was too slow, but not me! I appreciated how the reader really got to know Daisy and Hawk, and their feelings, before anything physical happened between them…aside from that very hot first time kiss, before they knew who each other was. Hawk is such a fantastic dad, always putting daughter Carly first, but feeling like he’s failing her in some way. Having Daisy there helps both father and daughter in obvious way, but it also helps Daisy, as she’s welcomed into the extended family, find acceptance, friendship and inclusion that she’s been missing for so long (outside of her bestie, Lark). There’s plenty of steam as well as feelings between this couple and I enjoyed their journey so very much! Relatively low on angst but full of heart, I could not put this one down! While characters from both the Wilde a horse series as well as the Ryker Ranch books show up in this one, new readers should have no problems following along. Plus, as the first in the Irresistible Langston series, you get to start from the beginning…and can go back to those other books at your leisure. I love Kim Loraine’s stories and characters. She’s become a must read author for me and I cannot wait to see what…or should I say who…comes next.
