I LOVE. LYSERG. SO MUCH!!!
I will say this every time, but the 2001 anime REALLY did the characters dirty. Lyserg is a prime example of someone who was insufferable in the 2001 anime but the manga he had SOOO MUCH DEVELOPMENT and I didn't realise how deprived I was until I read the manga.
"Winning isn't about defeating your opponent... it's about being happy with yourself." 😭❤️

Other than that, gosh ok some parts moved on way too quickly and it was so difficult for me to process things. Still don't get the heaven & hell thing. Marco vs Luchist was a little jarring but intense nonetheless.

You can really start to feel the author was losing his way a little. The retcons seem to be getting more severe! Sense of the passage of time zooms all over the place too. If I am following, the last two and a half omnibus take place over the same two days or so?

Luckily, Luchist came to save the volume in the final third. Excited for what's to come. Verrry different from my memory.

There was a lot of weird stuff in this but it was cool. A guy whipped off his like fascist priest clothes to reveal enormous boots and short shorts and was like "this is my battle outfit, it helps me focus". Sure dude!!!!

This has been the best volume yet!
So much drama and the battles have been nothing short of awesome! I really wish this was how the original series I watched when I was a child was!

Really weak volume as the pacing slows to a crawl and the story focuses on two of its worst parts, Joco and the JRPG villain guys whose names I can't remember.
