It has been five months since the seven women now living as part of the Shadow pack were drugged. Each of them has adjusted surprisingly well, especially the four mated women.
Faith has found her place helping in the clinic. Even with a shifter’s fast healing and resistance to disease, there’s plenty to do. Between the pregnant women and the irresponsible teens, who think they are invincible, the clinic is pretty busy.
On the first and only day Faith has ever been left to run the clinic alone, she learns two important facts. One is that the drug that changed them all might not be forever, for those three still unmated. Two is that finding a mate to claim her with a bite is looking more and more unlikely.
Lynn Leite is an author, artist, teacher and mother of three. Her wild imagination, and gift for gab blended perfectly in 2009, when she decided to write it all down. In addition to writing, she designs and illustrates her own covers.
Faith is at work alone when a huge wild looking male walks in wanting more blood samples from the seven. She calls everyone and while waiting for the others to arrive the scientist Zeke draws her blood and they both know they are true mates when he touches her. He has decided he will never mate because of how his father ignored he and especially his mother. The three inmates are in danger of losing their wolf because the formula given to them is temporary. Faith is not doing well being rejected and decides to do nothing to save her wolf. Val and Lila are given another shot of the formula and their wolf is stabilized but Faiths is gone. Zeke comes to his senses and they are mated. She was a paramedic before the change and was scheduled to start med school, she is able to help her mate with identifying factors within the blood with him and makes a discovery, A theory is formed that needs to be investigated. All but Val and Lila are now mated.
I love Ms. Levite’s shifters. Her characters are lovable and leave you feeling like family. And as each couple finds their mate you can’t help but celebrate. Thanks for the great feel good stories.
For every answer the pack finds, another two questions pop up. Z and Faith are making great strides on why some die when injected with the serum, and some are turned. They are still working hard on why the change only lasts for months, rather than being permanent. Also, why it lasts for months instead of just a few days, as they have been told was the original goal. They have conjectured the ones behind this are most likely still experimenting on others, and are worried about what is happening to those who survive. They have a tough job ahead of them as they search for the perpetrators, those being held prisoners and being experimented on, and keep humans from both discovering the paranormal world, or the potion. Either one would be a disaster, but both would change the world as everyone knows it. Fortunately, they have help in the form of other packs who are their allies. Read the series from the start, and be prepared to enter a different world. You'll be glad you did!
