Heidi and Lucy are super excited about the long weekend and their trip to Wacky Wonders Adventure Park with Lucy's parents. But can these friends have fun even if they don't always agree on the best road trip songs or things to do at the park?

Every kid has to learn how to navigate friendships when you don't totally agree. Heidi at one point uses her magic to help repair the friendship, but it is up for debate if the magic did the trick or if the honest apologies did. The story also tackles trying new things, from food to rides, and overcoming initial bad impressions. There aren't a ton of amusement park stories out there for kids, so this will be a welcome story for little amusement park lovers.

No content issues.

Heidi and her best friend Lucy take a road trip to an amusement park with Lucy's parents. They're super excited and ready to go, until Lucy plays the same song on repeat for the whole car ride. Then, Heidi decideds she's afraid of the wild rides and wants to sit out. The girls clash and have their biggest fight ever. Heidi wants them to make up and so she pulls out her magic spells book. Will it work to restore the girls' friendship?

Friendship drama is something just about every little girl can relate to. Heidi and Lucy's fight is pretty realistic. It isn't clear whether it's the spell that helps them to reconcile or that they were apologetic, honest, and understanding of one another. But it is still good to see the girls communicating and making compromises for each other.

Heidi is taking a road trip is Lucy to an amusement park but the trip isn't going well. Her expectations don't match up with Lucy's expectations - and since Lucy gets her own way Heidi is feeling kind of mad. This isn't helped when they both have very different attitudes toward the rides at the Amusement park itself. This leads to a lot of misunderstanding, culminating in the kind of fight kids will understand immediately.

Of course Heidi turns to her spellbook for help - but does it actually do anything? Their reconciliation seems to be more about them (which is better really). All the same, this is a good story showing a lot of growth in the girls. I like seeing the glimpses of who Heidi will be someday as she grows up.

Heidi and her best friend Lucy were going to the amusement park. They were so excited but when they start riding the car to get to there, Lucy started singing so loud multiple times. And she didn’t eat any of the snacks Heidi brought. And when they get to amusement park Lucy want to ride a big scary roller coaster. But Heidy wanted to ride the slow calming one, So they got into the fight. Lastly Lucy’s dad rode with Lucy, and does his mother rode with a Heidi. They also didn’t speak each other any in dinner too.

Thirty-fourth in this series.
Heidi gets to go to a water park with her friend, Lucy and her family. Both of them learn that too much togetherness can be an issue. They also figure out how to compromise when they disagree on what to do while there. I appreciate how Heidi and her friends are maturing as the series evolves.

I really enjoyed the Heidi Hecklebeck books when l was around 9. So l just proof-read this for my little sister (8) because l thought she would enjoy them. This book was good, except they had a big fight, and that's not what she should be reading. l don't remember much from them when l read them, but my little sister will probably not be reading these.

(Yes, you can read them out of order. 😉)
